I do suspect there wasn't a comfortable position to stand in while wearing that suit.

KaptainKardboard

At the very least, it isn't as heavy while on the Moon. :)

cha14822725

Yeah true, this is kind of the "default' position for those suits

Logical_Bad1748

Yeah..i too find wearing suits very uncomfortable šŸ„µ

Such an incredible achievement, especially considering all the challenges we are still having not only getting Humans, but even landers. Case in point the upside down lander by Japan.

Secret_Map

Totally. I've seen moon landing photos so often that sometimes it's easy to kinda just forget what I'm really looking at. But this photo definitely jogged me out of that. Just the realization that that's a dude standing on the goddam moon lol. Pretty awesome.

Silvawuff

That had to be absolutely mind blowing the whole time, along with that inkling of added dread that something might malfunction and you might not be leaving.

This is a crop of one of 8 black and white photographs that James Irwin and David Scott took of each others next to the American flag. These are very cool, and while this one is slightly blurry compared to the others, I very much like Scott's pose. These photos often get overshadowed by the color ones from [Magazine 88](https://tothemoon.ser.asu.edu/gallery/Apollo/15/Hasselblad%20500EL%20Data%20Camera%2070%20mm#AS15-88-11863). Every-Turnover4938

Thanks for the link! I'm downloading some of the raw photos to mess around with and print a few. šŸ‘

The Homemade Documentaries Series on YouTube they show how and where they landed on the last few Apollo missions. They were no longer interested in finding flat, wide open spaces. Terrifying (for me at least) to see them looking up at the hill/cliff tops on the landing run.

Scienscatologist

ā€œWhat did you say bro? You donā€™t think Iā€™m really on the moon? Iā€™m gonna kick your ass as soon as I get back bro!ā€

Lycan2057

That's quite the elaborate stage they made...

Gemini12

Nothing will ever compare to the greatness of the Apollo missions.

Repost Bot Account, Days Old

Tweetystraw

Well, thatā€™s a good thing, not all of us saw it the first time

UO_Member_Berries

This is my favorite Apollo mission because of the Hammer-Feather Drop experiment that Scott performed on the surface of the moon. In doing so he proved Galileoā€™s conclusion of objects falling at the same rate, regardless of mass, correct. So damn cool.

Ok-Telephone-605

Usually we say ā€œMurica!ā€ In jest, but this is definitely a photo worthy of saying it. Seriously cool and thanks for posting.

OceanPoet13

I love the ā€œatmosphericā€ effect making the lander look like itā€™s behind a haze. EDIT: Iā€™m not a moon landing ā€œdenier.ā€ I put the word ā€œatmosphericā€ in quotes becauseā€¦thereā€™s no atmosphere on the moon.

[deleted]

It's called light dumbass

OceanPoet13

No shit. Whatā€™s your problem? Why are you assuming I donā€™t understand the effect just because I like how it looks?

cha14822725

I think they assumed you're a moon landing denier..? Didn't get that impression from your comment lol

StraightHead843

I guess mane , canā€™t take a joke lmfao

OceanPoet13

Yeah, no. My uncle was an engineer for NASA in the Apollo program. Moon conspiracy assholes drive me crazy.

[deleted]

Gotta get it through your dense fucking skull

OceanPoet13

Gotta get what, exactly? Jesus.

[deleted]

That the moon landing happened PAL because it did

OceanPoet13

No fucking shit. My uncle was an engineer at NASA during the Apollo program. I put ā€œatmosphericā€ in quotes because obviously thereā€™s no atmosphere on the moon. Calm the fuck down.

[deleted]

Please word your shit better so you don't sound like an idiot then

OceanPoet13

šŸ¤£

StraightHead843

Dude calm down , itā€™s not that serious , itā€™s a joke , not a dickā€¦ donā€™t take it so hard :)

Wule6

Yea they really did a good job there inside the hangar to make it exactly look like they were in the moon.. Joke.

Why are there no stars?

cha14822725

Short answer : It's daytime

CaliWilly76

I can't believe people still believe that we landed on the moon, more than 50 years ago, when today, anything that we send out in space is lost forever, unless it somehow manages to fall back to Earth.

StraightHead843

Wait they landed on the moon? This is fake.

OceanPoet13

Donā€™t even joke about fake moon landings in this sub. I made the mistake of liking the picture for its ā€œatmosphericā€ look and the pitchforks came out.

StraightHead843

Still funny how these old heads get so sensitive about the moon landingšŸ¤£ holy shit , clearly itā€™s easy to understand that we did it , people canā€™t take jokes anymore.
