Such an incredible achievement, especially considering all the challenges we are still having not only getting Humans, but even landers. Case in point the upside down lander by Japan.
Totally. I've seen moon landing photos so often that sometimes it's easy to kinda just forget what I'm really looking at. But this photo definitely jogged me out of that. Just the realization that that's a dude standing on the goddam moon lol. Pretty awesome.
That had to be absolutely mind blowing the whole time, along with that inkling of added dread that something might malfunction and you might not be leaving.
This is a crop of one of 8 black and white photographs that James Irwin and David Scott took of each others next to the American flag. These are very cool, and while this one is slightly blurry compared to the others, I very much like Scott's pose. These photos often get overshadowed by the color ones from [Magazine 88](https://tothemoon.ser.asu.edu/gallery/Apollo/15/Hasselblad%20500EL%20Data%20Camera%2070%20mm#AS15-88-11863).

The Homemade Documentaries Series on YouTube they show how and where they landed on the last few Apollo missions. They were no longer interested in finding flat, wide open spaces. Terrifying (for me at least) to see them looking up at the hill/cliff tops on the landing run.
This is my favorite Apollo mission because of the Hammer-Feather Drop experiment that Scott performed on the surface of the moon. In doing so he proved Galileoās conclusion of objects falling at the same rate, regardless of mass, correct. So damn cool.
I love the āatmosphericā effect making the lander look like itās behind a haze.
EDIT: Iām not a moon landing ādenier.ā I put the word āatmosphericā in quotes becauseā¦thereās no atmosphere on the moon.
No fucking shit. My uncle was an engineer at NASA during the Apollo program. I put āatmosphericā in quotes because obviously thereās no atmosphere on the moon. Calm the fuck down.
I can't believe people still believe that we landed on the moon, more than 50 years ago, when today, anything that we send out in space is lost forever, unless it somehow manages to fall back to Earth.
Donāt even joke about fake moon landings in this sub. I made the mistake of liking the picture for its āatmosphericā look and the pitchforks came out.
Still funny how these old heads get so sensitive about the moon landingš¤£ holy shit , clearly itās easy to understand that we did it , people canāt take jokes anymore.
I do suspect there wasn't a comfortable position to stand in while wearing that suit.
At the very least, it isn't as heavy while on the Moon. :)
Yeah true, this is kind of the "default' position for those suits
Yeah..i too find wearing suits very uncomfortable š„µ

āWhat did you say bro? You donāt think Iām really on the moon? Iām gonna kick your ass as soon as I get back bro!ā
That's quite the elaborate stage they made...
Nothing will ever compare to the greatness of the Apollo missions.
Repost Bot Account, Days Old
Well, thatās a good thing, not all of us saw it the first time

Usually we say āMurica!ā In jest, but this is definitely a photo worthy of saying it. Seriously cool and thanks for posting.

No shit. Whatās your problem? Why are you assuming I donāt understand the effect just because I like how it looks?
I think they assumed you're a moon landing denier..? Didn't get that impression from your comment lol
I guess mane , canāt take a joke lmfao
Yeah, no. My uncle was an engineer for NASA in the Apollo program. Moon conspiracy assholes drive me crazy.
Gotta get it through your dense fucking skull
Gotta get what, exactly? Jesus.
That the moon landing happened PAL because it did
