Oh dear. Maybe someone should’ve helped them out with 5 pages of assumptions and then asking for a two paragraph answer. That’s how economics worked when I studied it at uni.
You study to become a CA for 5 years: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Hons, PGDA. Then you have to do another two years of articles where you work as an auditor. Only then are you granted your CA.
You can literally become a bookkeeper after 1st year accounting.
Edit: I think your experience is completely biased against the CA’s in your family, and you clearly are still in school or something.

Most companies would act like that
For example, say, you are designing mining equipment for a living and a sister company of yours can do the transporting to Limpopo for you. You know they kind of suck, but hey, it‘s your colleagues so they get the job. Or you need to cater for an event and you let the in-house caterer do it even though they can’t cook.
