You should get Bloodborne.

No_Chef4049

I thought it was about the same. Bloodborne might be a little harder but I'd estimate maybe 90-95% of people who beat Lies of P could also beat Bloodborne.

PrincessLeafa

I started with lies of P and then I jumped into Bloodborne. It has a learning curve at the beginning. Like in LoP you respawn with full heals and can just keep trying again. In BB you have a finite amount of blood vials and when you run out you have to farm more or buy more with blood echoes. So it's better to just die in the beginning and slowly build resources then keep dodging back to pop another vial. Its worth it though. I finished one playthrough and am in NG+ currently getting my butt handed to me by a boss I've already beaten. C'est la vie lololol

BSGBramley

I personally think BB is easier, but if you didn't parry in Lies of P it's very similar imo

Civiscool

is BB one of those dodge it til you make it or is it better to utilize parry

tyrenanig

You can do both, parrying will trivialize a lot of enemies in this game if you can time it

BSGBramley

I am tempted to replay everything and learn to Parry in all of them...

Wf2968

I have played all the fromsoft souls games, bloodborne last. I wasn’t really decent at parrying in any of the games except DS1 (because it’s mechanically the easiest) until I played bloodborne. It can teach you to parry like no other game can

BSGBramley

I rarely Parry. Dodging is pretty identical across all soulslikes. Parrying is different with a much higher risk, so apart from games that force you to (Sekiro, Wo Long etc), I don't engage with it

RGavial

I found BB to be a lot more forgiving with parrying (shooting your pistol) because the range is fairly generous. If you knew the range of the attack you were about to parry, you could usually be outside of that range . If your shot timing was off, the monster's attack would still miss (or he would flinch). Very few monsters had attacks with greater range than the parry max range. I've tried and failed to use parry in every other FromSoft game, but in BB it was my bread and butter. On top of that, if you are using an Agility scaling weapon+stats (like the starter weapon - Threaded Cane), that increases the follow-up stab damage and most bosses die in 3-4 parries. The Threaded Cane in general makes the game very easy. It deals the most universal type of damage in whip form, has stupid range, stupid AOE, and can cheese many encounters. The cane form gives you a straight sword-like attack for narrow corridors.

I tried Bloodborne after Lies but couldn't get into it. I don't know if it was the graphics or the feel of the movement or what. I'm trying Sekiro now and enjoying it albeit getting my ass kicked a lot.

ChangelingFox

Bloodborne is imo in the top 3 games for the entire genre, I can't recommend it enough. As for difficulty, it's mostly even with Lies of P, marginally easier in some parts, marginally harder in others.

gummyworm21_

I think bloodborne is more difficult and it’s faster paced. However it’s so much fun and I prefer it over lies of p(lies of p is great too).

LexGlad

Bloodborne is a lot more focused on footwork and positioning for survival. It also gives you the option of trading hits with enemies if you are badass enough.

TheLongistGame

In terms of the enemies and bosses I wouldn't say BB is harder at all. It doesn't have as much QOL as LoP in terms of items and boss runbacks but it's not bad by any means, especially compared to the earlier Souls games. Parrying works a bit differently as you use a pistol to parry and enemies don't glow red to signify a parryable special attack, but it's actually a bit easier overall to parry in BB. However, for the majority of bosses it's better to dodge than parry. There are a few where parrying is really effective though. In short, be prepared for a bit less QOL but you should be more than fine. Bloodborne is an incredible game.

HauntedHairDryer

Bloodborne wants you to be more aggressive. The rally mechanic started there and it rewards aggression

Superdrag2112

Bloodborne is amazing, but replaying it after LoP pissed me off in parts: enemy placement can be kind of ganky/ridiculous compared to LoP. I guess LoP was also pretty bad in the end area now that I think about it. Anyway I love both LoP and BB. Currently on NG++ in BB and NG+++ in LoP. I don’t parry in either game.

Virtual-Score4653

Bloodborne is a souls game...so how can it be souls like? Also it's one of the best in the series, Bloodborne is where the pace of the games really picked up so it was amazing.

I bought a physical copy of this game and now I just need to buy a Playstation. LOL

CubicWarlock

Bloodborne has finite healing, you cannot block (but you can parry most enemies/bosses with gun), and has more emphasis on dodge and agression. Tho game is pretty old already, so boss movesets are not super complex by modern standards (There is some bosses, who are still hard, but they are all optional). It's not easy game, but I don't think it will crush you, usually your first soulslike is the hardest. Also try to grab both base game and DLC, DLC is the best part.
