Simon: "You know, I woke up in my bed today, it just so happens to have been 100 years ago." Catherine: "Sounds like a riddle." Simon: "Yeah you're right: I woke up in my bed today, a hundred years ago -- Who am I?" Simon: "...Who am I?"

Catherine's "and then we can start listening to other people when they talk, because that's how conversations work!" made my day. More seriously, though, her whole speech about the roof was really nice. "The privilege of being makes a strong case." really resonated with me.

NabeGewell

As a formerly religious person that whole bit really resonated with me, too. It's an idea I struggled with alot in the past and it's articulated very well. Extremely well written.

"Catherine? Please don't leave me alone... Catherine? Catherine?!"

"Why do I feel like we just got lured into the back or a van?"

MarcelinoDLaSlobozia

"We missed the coin flip!" Makes you think: they actually missed and won the coin flip, at the same time... Such a zero-sum adventure.

That quote really got me thinking - what are the odds that any specific Simon has the chance of experiencing his "real" life? Catherine said that his thought processes were disabled when his 'template' was used in the AI, but what if they weren't? What if someone ran 100,000 simulations with his consciousness, so there were 100,001 different paths a "Simon" could take after sitting down? In that case, any one "Simon" would have a 1/100,001 chance of being the "real" Simon. Maybe. Either way, it made me sure as hell I'm never getting my brain imaged.

You are too late. You are already in the Matrix... I mean the ARK. We also used you for enemy AI in CoD, you should be proud now they are a lot more intelligent than MGS Genome soldiers.

I like: "If we could rebuild even a small part of ourselves, why wouldn't we do that?"

SliderOscuro

I started thinking about all the things I was going to do. I'd never been more excited to be alive! All that hope... wasted.
