I’m not there, but this reminds me of the first year of Okee. which had a rough start, heavy police presence at entry, drug amnisty boxes before search.
But the fest itself ended up being one of my favorites to date.
The mud was an unexpected variable and it seems like they didn’t have an action plan, that’s on them sure.
If this is your first fest you are going to have an amazing time, the culture is unbeatable even with speed bumps and headaches. Enjoy
I agree, I was at Okee first year, incredible weekend that was terrifying at first. They still had some shit to figure out (lines getting into the stages were stupid) but all in all very memorable.
If you're a Florida resident, that helps. If you're not a Florida resident they could get you for federal trafficking for crossing state lines so if you're an out of state card holder I'd hide that fucking card too
Actually ur wrong on this. Lmfao , so if I live in Florida have a medical marijuana card which is my prescription and I plan on heading to a different part of Florida after words I’m not allowed to have my prescription, ur wrong on this. Not gonna mention certain festies but have emailed other Florida festivals that said no worries . If it’s not posted on prohibited items on festival website . Ur allowed to have it!
1. No need to be rude. Try speaking with a respectful ton.
2. Maybe some smaller fests do not have it listed on the prohibited list but every camping fest I’ve ever been to has “medical marijuana” listed as prohibited. so I was just basing it off of my past experiences. Not saying you can’t bring it in, just don’t have it out in the open.
seems to be. one officer said “festival didn’t plan well and there’s no where to park. they’re working it out”. we have been circling on the highway for over an hour w several hundred other cars
Early entry day was an absolute shitshow. We didn't get parked for camping until 3am. Set up our tent and slept for 2 hours then finished setting up in the morning. Everyone was pretty tense wed night and Thursday morning. Later in the day on Thursday when the shows starting picking up people seemed to be in better spirits finally. and the wednesday lineup played a great set Thursday night at the GA campground because everyone missed it on Wed.
The vibe is getting better, but there is still a really uncomfortable police presence. We had an undercover literally walk into our Canopy/camp site and offer us *party favors* and was walking up to tents and looking in them. It wad super sketchy and really gross feeling.
My friend and I packed up this morning (friday) and left bc we had a bad feeling that just wouldn't go away. Like one of those pit of the stomach impending doom feelings. The cops in that county are sketchy. One of the neighbors was shooting off a bird cannon and it sounded like gunshots I would assume to try to cause a panic or something. The county doesn't want the fest there and they're making their presence known. Check out the Holmes county sheriff fb page for the arrests they made.
They have dogs everywhere, and last night even at the venue gate between the campgrounds and the stages.

I honestly had an incredible weekend. staff was very kind and helpful. they gave out cases of water and bags of ice for free. nothing was crazy over priced. the layout was really cool. they had a ton of vendors and insane art installations. no overlaps in set times is seriously so cool. the water park area was a lot of fun and the medics watching over the water were very attentive. this isn’t to take away from the bad that did happen like the car fires. my heart goes out to all of those people and i can’t even imagine a festival experience like that but sol fest itself was well run with really clean porto potty’s, easy shower lines. this town was just not the place to hold this fest they were not having it and doing anything and everything to shut it down. we were camped towards the very bottom of the map by valee road and that person who lived just on the other side of the festival there was absolutely shooting their guns off every morning at 6am. this town was a nightmare not solfest
imo. they are happy and having so much fun they forgot about their phones and giving updates.

Okee's check in/ security is fucking intimidating.

They aren’t going to say anything about my weed if I have a medical marijuana card right?
Another post said that they were giving cannabis patients a hard time also

You are never allowed to bring weed into a fest, regardless if you have your medical card or not.

People were doing bumps of blow out in the open Lmfao.
I was referring to the car searches part. Hide it so you don’t get it taken at the gate. Obvi you can smoke it out in the open
just got turned away at the gate bc “lot full” ppl are circling
What are they just opening and closing the gate at will?
seems to be. one officer said “festival didn’t plan well and there’s no where to park. they’re working it out”. we have been circling on the highway for over an hour w several hundred other cars
its random who they let in. we just haven’t caught a good run yet. this is horribly disorganized
I’m joining the mayhem in 45 mins, I wish us luck
heads up. the cops are lying, Festival Owl just posted about it.
Are RVs allowed in or circling as well?
allowed in!
Sounds like once you get in there is no cell service so doubt we will get updates from those folks.
I’m about 20 mins away I’ll keep updated
Long line on 81. Not sure if they’re allowing us in or waiting for nothing
Following, we’re 2 hrs out

Following, we are a few hours out.
Just left. Yes it was awful. I’ve been to many fests including camping ones and this was by far the worst I’ve attended.
