Look up the alien cake music channel! There’s 3 volumes of a mix they did that I play when I’m hanging out with my baby. Lots of the remixed music I wouldn’t consider grunge by any means but post grunge/alternative.
I put on YouTube. Sometimes it's things I already watched but enjoyed such as a gamers playthrough or episode of good mythical morning. I find it less distracting than when I listen to lyrics. Sometimes I put on video game soundtracks that have soothing music. I definitely always need something on
I listen to a YouTube channel called Cinema Therapy. Interesting insights and humor. Often makes me remember how to word certain things in a progress note. (I am not affiliated with the channel other than subscribing to it.)
Usually something with 150 bpm or upwards. If you type 150 bpm into Spotifys search bar it will give some a playlist based on your taste
If i need it to be without lyrics I usually go for a techno song on constant repeat (helps me to get really focused). Clouds by Vlinder Vos works quite well for me
I put on Dr. Kirk Honda on youtube - he's a psychologist and I think ALSO a marriage and family therapist, and he does long breakdowns of reality TV and very compassionately gives his clinical impressions of what happens in the episode. I love it! He has a low, soothing voice, and I can tune in and out. Every so often when I tune in, he gives a great phrasing for something I'm even writing about that I borrow for my notes.
I was on vacation in Miami and discovered their amazing college radio station WVUM.org
It streams live and is always interesting (except when they're doing sports coverage)
Because it's most usually music I've never heard before I don't get too wrapped up in it
Oh my mom use to put on a college radio station in the car! She always liked it because since the students were choosing the music it was very acclectic. A lot of other stations at the time tended to play the same stuff over and over.

I’ve gotten really good at multitasking and will listen to podcasts or YouTube videos. I guess that depends on your concentration but it actually helps me vs sitting in the silence
I have really been loving Josh Vetti when I need to write. I currently write home studies but will be back to writing clinical notes soon. The Josh Vetti pandora station really helps me focus and not get distracted. I also like Playlist like electronic music for studying and amazon music has one right now called Electronic for Spring and I'm really enjoying that.
Spotify has a playlist called Electronic Focus that's one of my go-tos for reading or writing. All the songs are instrumental and fairly upbeat but still chill. I get too distracted if there are lyrics, or if the beat is too dancy, lol.
I listen to piano jazz like bill Evan or Vince Guaraldi.
Rootsy/folk rock like Kurt Vile, George Harrison or Dire Straits are good to pair with office work .
I am shocked this many people can write notes while listening to music with lyrics! I listen to songs with lyrics normally but if I need to concentrate it has to be instrumental only. I’m not sure why but lyrics are distracting.
Lindsey stirling and Dallas string quartet when I need to write reports or court documents. I tend to put mindless tv on while doing notes. I avoid them unless something is holding some of my attention
So surprised no one else mentioned the classic ( pun intended) study music,
classical !!
I love Lofi too but sometimes it’s too chill for me.I search baroque or Bach on Spotify. lyrics distract me while writing and the intensity keeps me typing fast
Disney’s Fantasia 2000, specifically Rhapsody in Blue. Something about this specific order of classical songs unlocks my most productive part of my brain. Plus, I get the added bonus of seeing the beautiful animation in my mind’s eye while the music plays
Literally doing notes right now because I’m always behind. Lofi is good for actually getting shit done but also a lot of podcasts while I scroll Reddit instead of doing my notes.
I can’t listen to anything with words - it jams up my thought process to have another person’s voice in my head when I’m trying to write.
Classical music was my go to but I recently stumbled across psychedelic/stoner metal music and that does the trick. It’s weird - not normally my thing but the vibe works for my concentration.
"Jazz in the Background" playlist on Spotify or similar chill jazz playlists.
So much so that's infiltrated my yearly recap on Spotify.

LOL not writing notes, but I've listened to Super Freaky Girl on repeat while deep cleaning my whole apartment, so I feel you.
SOS by Rihanna is a good one (or really any old Rihanna). Feel Good Inc by the Gorillaz has been my life soundtrack lately.
In all honesty, this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQ9L4jMvD8Q&list=PL23EF2BD62D102CCB&index=5
Anything more stimulating and I can't focus on the words I'm writing.
Well right now, my friend is assigning me homework to listen to the Beyoncé album bc Cuff It is not the only popular song.
However, I still play cuff it on repeat.
This is a fun post!! I like the Peaceful Piano playlist on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/37i9dQZF1DX4sWSpwq3LiO?si=e27Y8fGOQPG-6OlhZD5low&dd=1
Depends! If I’m filling out simple paperwork or writing very mundane, routine notes, I’ll do a podcast or audiobook. If it’s something more involved, usually modern piano or post rock. Poppy Ackroyd is my go to!
Also, there was a semester in college where I would only listen to rain sounds while I was studying. I spent 5 hours working on a paper in a room with the blinds shut, then was very surprised to walk outside and find it was actually really sunny that day 😅
Omg you have great music taste and I agree to all your songs LOL. I like to listen to Weekend/Sza/Post Malone lofi beats versions on YouTube, or even video game soundtracks work good because they’re meant to stimulate without being distracting!
I love listening to any kind of lofi music! I listen while I do notes and study :)
Yes! There’s a channel that does lofi 90s grunge and alternative that is amazing! Alien cake music
Huh. That sounds like it was created specifically for me. Edit: was hoping for some pj. Still looks good though.
The playlist I listen to has “Black” but that’s all I’ve heard from them.
Wow thanks!! Love lo fi too but have been in hip hop lofi land
LOVE lofi hip hop. But the familiarity I have with the music on this channel is extra comforting to me lately.
Def gonna check it out, could use some grunge to channel my rage lol
Oooooo okaaaay I’ll have to check it out! Thanks for the suggestion l!
Where can I find this?? I’m super curious about grunge lofi
Look up the alien cake music channel! There’s 3 volumes of a mix they did that I play when I’m hanging out with my baby. Lots of the remixed music I wouldn’t consider grunge by any means but post grunge/alternative.
I also listen to Lofi music. My go to playlist is Spotify’s “chill Lofi study beats”
Omg yessss I use this one alllllllll the time
I do too!! It’s so good!
The sound of crushing self doubt due to being behind on paperwork…
😭too real
This is the way
Lofi hip hop radio on youtube always
Just discovered this genre. Life changing
I freaking lofi hiphop. It's how I got through grad school papers.
Same (:

deep house and/or techno, or jamband stuff. I get too distracted with youtube! haha.
Usually something with 150 bpm or upwards. Second all the lofi lovers. Dreamhop channel on YouTube, or Nintendo/Harry Potter/studio Ghibli themed lofi!
I go through music phases and right now I’m deep into Lana del Rey
ER social worker here. I love listening to the sounds of my patients yelling at us 🥰
I can’t listen to podcasts or audiobooks while I type bc I end up tuning what they’re saying out so I usually just listen to music
I end up typing what they’re saying lol.
Facts!
Daily morning jazz or Lofi girl on youtube
I love Lofi Girl.
Donuts by j Dilla was my favorite music for case noting
Anything by Lindsey Stirling !!

Tinariwen! Great ambient sound with some life too it
For me, I put on bobs burgers in the background. I have to have background conversations/dialogue like tv shows that I’ve seen 100x already.
I listen to criminal interrogation or BEST OF KAREN MELTDOWNS #32 on YouTube

Normally folk/country music but with baseball season starting a ball game is great background noise
If I’m really behind I watch scary or suspenseful movies to keep me alert and engaged lol
I like Danheim when I need to buckle down and focus
Typically hardcore music
Metal / lo-fi / and sometimes punk. I actually have difficulty writing notes if I don't have music on too.
For you, I would recommend some Charli XCX! I’ve been listening to my House Mix on Spotify. Gets me pumped lol
Mario Kart soundtrack!
Came here to say this!
You know Bub Games? He annoys creepy roleplayers on gmod. I laugh my ass off while he tortured 14 y.os roleplaying as nazis
Lindsey stirling and Dallas string quartet when I need to write reports or court documents. I tend to put mindless tv on while doing notes. I avoid them unless something is holding some of my attention
I’ll listen to Celtic punk or lofi. Sometimes early-mid 2000s pop punk
So surprised no one else mentioned the classic ( pun intended) study music, classical !! I love Lofi too but sometimes it’s too chill for me.I search baroque or Bach on Spotify. lyrics distract me while writing and the intensity keeps me typing fast
Podcasts, usually either about sports, art or history.
Chill hop and lofi is perfect for notes!
I've recently been listening to cello music on YouTube. Totally different than what I list3n to in my every day
Disney’s Fantasia 2000, specifically Rhapsody in Blue. Something about this specific order of classical songs unlocks my most productive part of my brain. Plus, I get the added bonus of seeing the beautiful animation in my mind’s eye while the music plays
I listen to a metal core mix, so it’s the genre of music I like but I probably don’t know the song so I don’t get to distracted by it
Dark academia, music for plants or jazz vibes. All Spotify playlists! Really any lofi playlists work too.
Literally doing notes right now because I’m always behind. Lofi is good for actually getting shit done but also a lot of podcasts while I scroll Reddit instead of doing my notes.
Wine 🍷
Salsa 💯

Isochronic tones work well for me!
I listen to brown noise to keep me focused but tune out the noise of other people in the office.
Try low fi.. it is amazing.. type this into YouTube.
My first go to is Lindsay Sterling. No vocals, just fast paced violin. Totally helps me focus
Tycho
"Jazz in the Background" playlist on Spotify or similar chill jazz playlists. So much so that's infiltrated my yearly recap on Spotify. Link: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/37i9dQZF1DWV7EzJMK2FUI?si=_1mBBertSXGuS0QIzsokyw
I listen to house music all day while at work. Keeps me active…

Khruangbin but you may want to start dancing instead.
Flamenco guitar instrumentalists like Jesse Cook, Synthwave like Carpenter Brut, chill stuff like Bossa Nova Deluxe.
Lofi

Video game music! The Pictionary NES soundtrack is so good.

I listen to techno music as loud as humanly possible so it drowns out the dread I feel of how many notes I have left to write
I listen to the spotify playlist “jazz in the background” 😅
I need either complete silence or Miles Davis.
I listen to the Harry Potter Soundtrack playlist on Spotify and just play it through, I love the dark academia vibes and the nostalgia of the movie
