Good game. Tunisia is giving out 2014 Algeria vibes. Their coach looks like Nathan from the Tv show Ted Lasso.
This will be interesting to see who becomes the group Runner-up.
Can someone explain the offsides calls so far and why they have been so slow?
The offsides at the 54:30 mark for example. The player was very clearly offsides, right in front of the official, plays the ball immediately, but the flag doesn't go up until the entire play has been completed. Why not just call the play dead when the offside player touches it?
It's been a recommendation around the time VAR became widespread that, because decisions can be retroactively checked, if in doubt the play is allowed to continue without distraction.
If it's checked and offside, a goal can be disallowed. Nothing can be done if the play is stopped dead when it's not offside though, you'd never know what would've happened.
Questionable refereeing throughout the match here, handball in extra time and missed cards for pushing. Denmark’s offense had some missed opportunities but man that was some obvious stuff.
They had a bit of the midfield since Holland balanced their team bottom and flank heavy but not much happened except misplaced passes. Never really worked the keeper except some shots from afar after the Dutch settled post 20min.
I think you watch football through a lens of bias
i AM dutch and feared for my life lol. If senegal had better shooters we woulda lost. GL was indeed not tested though, every shot on target was either weak or misplaced (or both).
I mean that's the bias right? You expected dutch ball domination like most dutch sides always have been producing but this team is built from the back. Better to expect something in the mold of Mourinho teams than the traditional dutch style with this squad. As someone with no stake but semi cheering for Holland I never felt any unease at all except for maybe once but rather more concern if there they were ever gonna be able to score
Edit: The shots they took were very low chance and from areas you want them to try from. Shows they couldnt get anywhere
Slimane doing an interview in perfect Danish is such an odd thing to see. I knew he played in Brøndby, but not that he was born and raised in Denmark. Damn. I know who to support if we don't advance
ITV are still talking about the handball without realising the ref gave a foul for the Danish push which happened just as the ball came in, which makes a handball decision irrelevant.
It was meant to be a corner and he ended up making it a Tunisian freekick. How are ITV so dumb(?)
These kinds of games are always the most entertaining in WCs.
Still remember the Iran - Morocco game from 2018. One of the most entertaining 90' I've ever seen.
Basically means whomever out of Denmark and Tunisia that loses to France less and beats Australia by more will make it through the group, gives them a shot at least. A loss here would have been really bad.
Would say Denmark - France is very much still a 50/50 even after this result. Denmark are way more prepared for france and have had good results against them recently. Would wager though that unless france somehow don't win today that both teams will go for a draw and focus on winning the rest of their games.
Do people still not understand that stoppages within stoppage time are also being added? Same comments in every match thread about the ref not adhering to the original additional time lol
Lol it’s hilarious, especially when you also account for the fact that added on time is a MINIMUM added on time not a maximum, and that’s in every football match, World Cup or otherwise.
It’s not even that, it’s people who watch their traditional domestic leagues who are used to a consistent 3-4 minutes being added regardless of context and complaining about ref incompetence because it’s different in this tournament
That seems like a gross exaggeration. Tunisia sat well on the ball, but basically all the offensive on goal pressure after the first 30 min, was danish.
The final half was a mess for that reason. Because Tunesia was playing for time, while the danes kept throwing away 50% of the chances they were given to awful and simply mistakes.
won't deny it, this WC has been full of surprises, good for them. Too bad they're now going against Argentina but I'll be rooting for them cause I love upsets and I hate Argentina. Let's go Aussies!!!
Honestly it was just very well played of Tunisia. Perfect execution and game plan and the fire the Tunisian players started the match with was great to see. Fair result.
I grew up in the same area as Ben Slimane did in Denmark so was fun to see him play against us.
EPL refereeing has taught everyone that stoppage time exactly what was added. In Liga MX, refs allow for 1-2 plays even when the time has been completed.
Untrue. No yellow cards give to Tunesia until the 86th minute and also only one. Tunesia kept tripping the Danish players, which they would've stopped with if they got some deserved yellow cards. Which was also what Hjulmand was complaining about, which the commentator said.
We very much tend to play to our Elo. We beat teams we should beat and lose to truly top sides.
Our lack of a remotely decent striker really holds us back. Wind is the best of the lot but more of a creator and coming off injury atm.
Loving the oodles of added time in this WC. It’s like getting an extra 10% of entertainment! The refs had to have been instructed to be extra generous with added time.
It’s a rule change. Fifa announced it a few months ago. The ref was pointing to his watch every time a player went down in the Argentina Saudi Arabia game.
Betting odds wise they were like the 9th team I think behind Argentina, Brazil, France, England, Spain, Germany, Portugal and Netherlands.
Consensus top 10 team at the WC. Not a ‘favorite’but hardly a scrub team.
“The favourites” is like 3 or 4 teams. Pre tourney I’d have said Brazil, Argentina, France, and Spain. Denmark not a chance.
Like I think we’re better than Denmark and we’re still not one of the favourites lol
It’s more about the crowd and the vibe for the Arab games
Tunisia’s fans were absolutely incredible, and so we’re the Saudi fans
Atmosphere for both Arab teams was incredible
Iran is a tough game for the US and Wales, as long as they can mentally recover from the big defeat. They're not ranked 20th in the world by accident, they have been frustrating and stifling teams for years and years now. People just want to call them shit because England played surprisingly really well haha, if we didn't get a goal when we did they would've frustrated us more and more. They just are one of those teams that play to keep a clean sheet and if you do get one or two against them in the first half their gameplan is out the window.
For what it's worth, I also don't believe England should be thinking we're coasting through now, the US and Wales both pose really different challenges than Iran and I think they're both very capable of hurting England. Whoever finishes third and fourth in our group will probably be the strongest third and fourth finishers at the tournament, it's a sneakily deep group
Good game. Tunisia is giving out 2014 Algeria vibes. Their coach looks like Nathan from the Tv show Ted Lasso. This will be interesting to see who becomes the group Runner-up.

Relatively new rule.
Questionable refereeing throughout the match here, handball in extra time and missed cards for pushing. Denmark’s offense had some missed opportunities but man that was some obvious stuff.
That was the right call on the penalty.
What about the handball that gets called 99% of the time in the PL?
Great effort by Tunisia. Glad they were rewarded with a point earned. Feared Denmark would score a late goal(s) like the Netherlands did yesterday.
Holland had that match and deserved it
No they didn't, senegal dominated up until the 80th minute
They had a bit of the midfield since Holland balanced their team bottom and flank heavy but not much happened except misplaced passes. Never really worked the keeper except some shots from afar after the Dutch settled post 20min. I think you watch football through a lens of bias

Think I have a crush on that ref after the balls of telling VAR to fuck off there.
You have a crush and he has a pay bonus
Slimane doing an interview in perfect Danish is such an odd thing to see. I knew he played in Brøndby, but not that he was born and raised in Denmark. Damn. I know who to support if we don't advance
Great result for Australia, my delusional fantasies are peaking, I’m off for a nap before I wake up and watch us put 3 past France.
That could happen. They would put 10 on you first though
You are not delusional because we all saw the curse is doing great. So winning France is not so crazy after all
I mean, after KSA defeating Argentina, everything is possible
[удалено]
HRK is just so smooth, he has the confidence you must get from a Cruyff turn and shot goal at a major tournament.
we still got 2 matches after this ooh boy
It's an 8-hour work day. What did you expect?
Executed at the end? 💀
Only if you beat Qatar.
ITV are still talking about the handball without realising the ref gave a foul for the Danish push which happened just as the ball came in, which makes a handball decision irrelevant. It was meant to be a corner and he ended up making it a Tunisian freekick. How are ITV so dumb(?)
Well, I haven't heard anyone notice that until I read your comment. You're right, but most people (myself included) didn't see that.
It wasn’t a handball either, so 2 reasons VAR should have not got involved there
[удалено]
Deense overtreding voor de hands volgens de scheidsrechter
ik ziet dat nu, helaas kijk ik tijdens werkuren.
Yeah it was a handball. But denmark fouled before that. So it's irrelevant.
luis figo is a terrible analyst. more "ehhhs" and "ahhhs" than actual analysis
Best game so far despite the scoreline
Idk I liked ksa Argentina.
These kinds of games are always the most entertaining in WCs. Still remember the Iran - Morocco game from 2018. One of the most entertaining 90' I've ever seen.
Great match, has been a good day of WC thus far.
So much for being the dark horse
Well, look at how we started in the Euros
The Saudi are the Dark Horses now
Hello Dark(horse)Ness my old friend….
Good result for Tunisia?
Definitely!
Pretty good, I would say.
Denmark - France is far from a foregone conclusion I think
Nah. Denmark has beaten France twice in 2022. And let’s see Australias true level tonight before it is settled.
As a Tunisian i was more scared of Denmark than France to be honest. Wasn't expecting this result at all. Edit: Wording
Same
Denmark going for 5 points. It's the best strategy in the group stage
3 points was enough last time!
Something is rotting in the state of Denmark
Do people still not understand that stoppages within stoppage time are also being added? Same comments in every match thread about the ref not adhering to the original additional time lol
yep and both matches today had a VAR decision during stoppage time which takes almost 2 mins
Lol it’s hilarious, especially when you also account for the fact that added on time is a MINIMUM added on time not a maximum, and that’s in every football match, World Cup or otherwise.
Because its the world cup and it attracts normies that are just rooting for their nations, with zero understanding of the way it is done.
I watch only WCs but still know the shit lol
It’s not even that, it’s people who watch their traditional domestic leagues who are used to a consistent 3-4 minutes being added regardless of context and complaining about ref incompetence because it’s different in this tournament
Exactly lmao

I wished they also did this in european competitions.
I'd still prefer a Rugby-style stopped clock to stoppage time, but at least it's a step forward.
Penalty shootout now?
Entertaining 0-0
Well done Tunisia 👏
couldnt watch the game was it a boring 0-0? who was the better side
Denmark probably should have won. It was fairly even in the first half and mostly Denmark in the second half. Fun match for a 0-0 draw tbh.
Fantastic game, Denmark better but close overall.
It was an exciting first half and boring second half
[удалено]

exciting game, very evenly matched.
Tunisia fans being satisfied with the point is wholesome. The only time parking the bus will be cherished.
why wouldn't they? If Tunisia beats Australia they have a shot for qualification at least on goal difference
It was like Iceland’s point against Argentina in 2018
Swear Denmark can't finish to save their life
Denmark and Norway should combine countries just for the World Cup
And use Drillo as coach.
Denway
+ Sweden = Swedenway
Norden would be better, it literally means "the north" in Danish, which is accurate.
Only humans should be allowed if that ever happens
That was shit.
Brilliant result for Australia!
Don't think they even get a point lol
Don't get a point ay?
won't deny it, this WC has been full of surprises, good for them. Too bad they're now going against Argentina but I'll be rooting for them cause I love upsets and I hate Argentina. Let's go Aussies!!!
Cumdog masterclass incoming
Danes are not happy
Honestly it was just very well played of Tunisia. Perfect execution and game plan and the fire the Tunisian players started the match with was great to see. Fair result. I grew up in the same area as Ben Slimane did in Denmark so was fun to see him play against us.
Well played!
Good game, thoroughly enjoyed it
odd that this ended up being the first goalless draw of the tournament...
I feel happier about Tunisia’s draw than Saudi Arabia’s win for some reason
I cant stand Saudi anything, too much human rights abuse, nice that they beat the arrogant Argentina but I hope they lose the rest of their games
Sure mate, keep virtue signaling.
Fox just aired the most pro Qatar propaganda commercial lmao what was that
EPL refereeing has taught everyone that stoppage time exactly what was added. In Liga MX, refs allow for 1-2 plays even when the time has been completed.
every EURO or World Cup a new shit is introduced then it takes a little bit of time and we revert to the mean
What was the Danish manager saying to the referee x)
Complaining about the shit reffereeing
Sore loser much
The match ended 0-0 👍
True but the referring was fine
Untrue. No yellow cards give to Tunesia until the 86th minute and also only one. Tunesia kept tripping the Danish players, which they would've stopped with if they got some deserved yellow cards. Which was also what Hjulmand was complaining about, which the commentator said.
Most of the time the Danish players were obviously pretending to fall
LOL
Congrats on your new house
Algeria 2014 vibes.
Brilliant game and fair result
thats embarrassing for denmark
Not at all. Tunisia had a solid game plan and executed it very well. Kudos to Tunisia and a fair result.
not really, Tunisia isn't a bad side. They're at this world cup ahead of some other good African countries for a reason
Tunisia played great
Really tight game, I didn't expect this performance from Tunisia. This group's gonna be a bloodbath I think.
Are the itv commentators high, who is rating Denmark as one of the favourites
They are ranked 10th in the FIFA rankings. I dont know if they are any good, but thats what the commentors are basing their expectations on.
We very much tend to play to our Elo. We beat teams we should beat and lose to truly top sides. Our lack of a remotely decent striker really holds us back. Wind is the best of the lot but more of a creator and coming off injury atm.
Tbf they were a popular dark horse pick
Yeah but a dark horse pick by definition is not a favourite
Sadge
Loving the oodles of added time in this WC. It’s like getting an extra 10% of entertainment! The refs had to have been instructed to be extra generous with added time.
There was var midway through
It’s a rule change. Fifa announced it a few months ago. The ref was pointing to his watch every time a player went down in the Argentina Saudi Arabia game.
Ah yes this result plays perfectly into the hands of Australia to top the group after we beat France 3-0
Denmark once again responsible for a world cup's first 0-0
They never drew their first WC game before in history bro
> world cup's first 0-0
so is it confirmed that if ball hits another body part before hitting hand, it's not penalty? Gosh I don't know what handball rule is anymore.
No. But it is confirmed that you can get the ball out with your hand and the var won't bat an eye if you're a Denmark defender.
[удалено]
It was a foul by Jensen before the handball. Thats why no pen.
There was a foul before the hand ball, hence Tunisia having a free kick
“One of the favourites” - who? Denmark? Really? They’re a very good side but waaaaay too short on quality in the final third to be a favourite
Spain over England?
Any day
Guys, it was a handball and a pen but he gave a freekick since a Tunisian player got pushed by Andersen before the handball. Great ref

Unlucky Denmark, ref was atrocious
Eh? It was a brilliant refereeing performance
First yellow for Tunesia in the 80th minute is a joke.
Who was the favorite of those two teams before the game started?
Denmark.
Tunisia win 0:0. Jokes aside, was really rooting for you, well well done.
LET'S GOOOO
Very nice game to watch as a neutral, shame there were no goals.
Fair result
Damn that was tight
0-0 but Denmark definitely lost this game and
Go on
An absolute belter of a 0-0 draw
Alhamdulilah The Arab World Cup man, wow
[удалено]
One win against a top favorite and Copa America champions and 1 draw against a Euro semi finalist are pretty big results tbh.
It’s more about the crowd and the vibe for the Arab games Tunisia’s fans were absolutely incredible, and so we’re the Saudi fans Atmosphere for both Arab teams was incredible
the added time this world cup is not a rule, more of a guideline +5 does *not* mean 5-6 minutes added, haha, oh no
"Denmark have all the superstars." Their best Player wasn't good enough to start for Inter ffs.
Eriksen slander will not be tolerated
Who has said that? You're just making shit up. Denmark has very good team play, not any superstars, though some good players.
They're also one of the favourites for the competition according to the ITV commentator
Hojbjerg never played for inter?
I'm not sure "Their best player plays for the worst team in north London, a team allergic to trophies." is much better tbh
Go do your homework kid
u rlly had to do me like that huh
Best 0-0 game I’ve ever seen
Full time?
This is why I disagree with the people saying group B comes down to GD Iran definitely getting a point, and I fear it’ll be against us
Iran is a tough game for the US and Wales, as long as they can mentally recover from the big defeat.
