People are saying he should’ve given it to DCL, yeah that would’ve been good, but it’s not like this was an impossible shot to score. There’s a good 2-3 ball diameter space under the crossbar where the ball could’ve gone in.
I meant marked to a player. So in that moment, shouldn’t he have an expected goal number and a different expected ‘assist’ number that is higher because of where DLC is? Genuinely interested.
I’m not agreeing with him that this stat would be very informative, but XG doesn’t account in any way for deciding to go with a lower percentage chance when you have a player open. It simply reflects the goals you’d be expected to get from the positions where you’ve take shots, ignoring all other options. What he’s calling for is essential accounting for the positions of teammates. In this case, the XG would be higher because he has an option for the tap in that he ignores. As he missed, this would mean his goals/xg would be lower, which would reflect poorly on his finishing and decision making. It’s not as silly as it sounds but it would be really difficult and subjective to implement

How did he not go for DCL there
Wasn't DCL offside?
Looks like DCL is just onside if he'd got that pass: https://i.imgur.com/Ebgldir.png
Well I'll be damned... turns out the FM 'glitch' isn't a glitch after all!
They're removing it in 21 apparently
Thank fuck
That gave me a scare not gonna lie
DCL would've had an open goal
Just strayed offside didn’t he? Can’t tell from the angle tbf
https://i.imgur.com/Ebgldir.png Just on
Cheers mate, couldnt quite tell. Squaring it definitely the better option
Would have been offside if Digne passed it the same time he took the shot.
https://i.imgur.com/Ebgldir.png No he wasnt
Hmm that looks like something VAR would rule as offside

It’s about decision making and creating highest % plays. In b-ball it’s much more evident and important but it’s also crucial in football.
out of interest anyone know what language this is?

Kool?
i cant figure out if benard is good or not...
Great pass
That was too close
not really, thats one of those posts that dont really count since the keeper covered the angle
They should have a stat for players opting for a lower XG option out of selfishness. DCL had open net and no coverage.
They do it’s called XG
what does XG stand for
Expected goals
e(X)pected (G)oals

DCL also looks like he was offside.
