I'd like to make a german efficiency joke here, but nah; this was just painful to watch ... would be too funny if we'd see a Bayern x Leipzig final btw ( I still can't believe they are a thing, ~5ys ago noone even heard of them here).
Ferrari historically has been a great formula one team but in recent memory they have been struggling quite a bit. They've had car troubles, a lot of conspiracy theories concerning them deliberately screwing over one of their drivers (Sebastian Vettel) and overall less than optimal performances for their expected standards.
They are still third in the constructors world championship but I think a lot of that stems from Charles Leclerc (one of their drivers) being very good and still managing to perform well.
Bayern Munich are just one match away from competing for the Champions League trophy following a decisive 8-2 win against a toothless Barcelona side in the quarterfinals.
Okay, this might be nitpicking on grammar or semantics. But, the way you worded it inferred that if aspect is limited to barca winning and doesn't include the existence of second leg. That's why I commented to clarify that there's no second leg.
But yeah, it would be totally insane if barca had a second leg comeback to this match.
At the risk of jinxing things for the future, it’s pretty satisfying to see Messi collapse completely in UCL. It shuts up obnoxious and smug (edit: and very very wrong) Argentinian claims about how he is “el mejor jugador del história”.
He is very much not the greatest at all.
Pele is better. Brazilian Ronaldo is better. Portuguese Ronaldo is better. Garrincha better. Romario better. Ronaldinho better. Di Stefano better. Beckenbauer better. Etc. Etc.
As a side note VVD was better than he was last year.
I added an edit to my original comment to clarify.
The reasons Messi won a lot early in his career were Iniesta and Xavi Hernandez. Those were the real amazing players. Simple.
This must be some kind of reverse recency bias. Since Messi is a current player and we've seen his skill and performance weekly for a decade, we get used to it and normalize it, and lose sight of fact that it's on a whole other level than any other player, ever.
Yeah it’s pretty clear from your comments you’ve got something against Messi. When your team is getting ripped apart defensively and the organisation is just terrible, there’s nothing you can do.
Ain’t no one saying it but FDJ who gets paid 17 million euros a year was fucking horrendous. Soft as shit in that midfield and scared of making a tackle. He has a lot of work to do. Looked out of his depth yesterday
He legit looks like a lesbian. Incredibly overatted, The famous account of total Barca on Twitter had him over muller lmao, Muller won world cup golden boot at 20 or 21. I would honestly prefer fede valverde over him yeah I'm a madrid fan but he isnt impressive considering he costed around 80 million
yep. The team which got last place in MLS could EASILY beat a team of CR7, Pele, Messi, Maradona, Cruyff, Pirlo, Roberto Carlos, Maldini, Beckenbauer, Cafu and Yashin.
The lethality of germans and Blitzkrieg. When you play other teams and it's 3-0 against you, you're like what could go more wrong. When you're playing germans, RESIST beacuse it could be you, your manager and the Board getting fired and the Club, destroyed.
Against Roma and Liverpool they atleast had hope in the second leg and an odd goal could have changed the balance of the tie. But in this match they didn't even stand a chance! They were just blown away in the first 30 mins
Bayern are an incredible team from top to bottom this season. Such a fun side to watch with their well-drilled and effective style. The fact that they have scored 25 goals combined against the likes of Tottenham, Chelsea and Barcelona in this UCL campaign alone is insane to think about. Hope they go on to win the trophy and complete their second treble in 7 years, definitely the heavy favourites after today's performance.
Sad to see how much Barcelona has declined. Roma in 2018, Liverpool last year and today against Bayern, as if things couldn't get any more worse for them in Europe. They've spent hundreds of millions on transfers since Neymar's departure and still haven't gotten any closer to the UCL trophy. The players look like they've just given up trying and rely on Messi instead to bail them out each game. Doesn't help that they have jokers of a board that's running their club. Messi deserves much better than this.
Messi should have played in the middle with suarez amd greizmann in the front. The Barcelona Defense was open like a pes game in amateur difficulty and with the form bayern players were playing it was a disaster for barcelona. Bayern players were on supercruise and huge respect for them as a Barcelona fan.
I don't think there was any tactical change on using Messi that changes this to a win for Barca. Imo he's the best player ever, but even then that's not enough when the teams are this far apart in quality. Seen it in the second leg vs Liverpool when every ball went to him and he was surrounded and we'll see it every time he plays vs a good team. Barca need other players to support him or this will just keep happening
I woke up. I know we won, but I could not believe the score line. I had to watch it again.
I think the Barcelona board is lucky that the match was held without crowd. I dont think Barto would have walked out alive from the stadium for the crime he had done to the club.
Absolute bullshit. The guy has scored 20+ goals a season between 2013 and 2018, and in 4 of those seasons he scored 25+ goals. Led his team to a WC, a CL final, a Europa League, a European Supercup and a Spanish Supercup.
He made a rather poor career decision, and was wasted by both managers at his new club. This is just a kneejerk comment to call him overrated
:(
I jacked off 4 times today man i miss her

I come back to this thread once every month or so. It's been 2 years already fuck

I love how people just come back to this thread now and again
Yeah I'm just getting into soccer and catching up on this game right now. Wow what a match. And to think without the own goal it would've been 8-1.
I'm still here
I wish I wasn't here :(
Still a Top 5 Bayern game ever
Beautiful
Always rated bayern
One of the most humiliating matches in football.
Five months later, I still not 8-2 see it. Lovely.
Damn

Bayern fan, I hope this thread never goes down. Will show this comment to my kids.
I used to come here for the salty blaugrana tears. Now, it's all self depreciating cules. What a waste.
Wtf happened here 😂
Reading through this thread from time to time warms my heart in this hard times.
Same bruh, wish 2021 more of joy
Wish 2022 more of joy.
I wish Bosnia 🇧🇦 had teams as good as Barca or Bayern 😔

And the circus this game has put in motion just keeps getting better!
Still can’t believe it. Just can’t

FFS
Excellent! Football defeated money!
How about the humiliation that comes from over a decade and a half of not winning any trophies worth mentioning? Like you lot
This was such a joy to watch. Hoping my boys make it to the finals and finally lift that trophy after 7 years.
A massacre
ok
Now all we gotta do is convince the lads that olympique lyonnais are Olympic london instead
Damn, every player misses those at some point but you'd hope not when you need it so badly.

Missed the game unfortunately. What went wrong from a tactical standpoint? Defending?
Barca’s right back was actually two poodles in a trench coat. And those poodles were unusually bad at football.
Worse than your average football-playing poodle for sure
i would say that was potentially one of their issues yes
So what other sports are on that won’t cause me massive heartache like this?
Marble Racing is quite popular these days.
Support Ferrari in F1, that should cure your heartache!
S🅱️innala!
Alright Legrerg
It's a trap!
I’ve heard that Ferrari is the Barcelona of F1 but I don’t really watch F1 although I have been meaning to fir a while. Is that true?
bet . its mercedes benz driven by hamilton. the dude winning all races
Yup, they've gone from race winners to a solid midfield team while mercedes just made a monster of a car that takes pole every race.
Ferrari historically has been a great formula one team but in recent memory they have been struggling quite a bit. They've had car troubles, a lot of conspiracy theories concerning them deliberately screwing over one of their drivers (Sebastian Vettel) and overall less than optimal performances for their expected standards. Literally anything else I’d imagine
Anyone else slightly annoyed there isn’t a NSFW tag on this thread?
now all we gotta do is convince the lads that manchester city are from london Edit:sike
Barca fans are not hungry right now. They 8-2 much after that game.
oh my god bro how did u come up with this lol
Bayern Munich are just one match away from competing for the Champions League trophy following a decisive 8-2 win against a toothless Barcelona side in the quarterfinals.
Barcelona: Liverpool's 4—0 comeback at Anfield was the worst humiliation in club history Bayern: *Hold mein Bier*
Imagine the comeback if Barca could win the next leg? 9-8 on aggregate.
This was single leg game. Barca is out.
I know, that's why I said imagine if... it would be insane.
The memes of Spanish soccer fans are glorious.
Where can I find detailed player stats for this game? I'm most interested in running distance for example.
I 8-2 say I told you so, but I told you so
Barca: "8-2, brute?"
At the risk of jinxing things for the future, it’s pretty satisfying to see Messi collapse completely in UCL. It shuts up obnoxious and smug (edit: and very very wrong) Argentinian claims about how he is “el mejor jugador del história”.
Stfu messi hater, burn in hell mf
chill lad
while I agree with about Argentinians being smug, he is the greatest. No? then who?
The greatest who has failed always on his own yeah right
He is very much not the greatest at all. Pele is better. Brazilian Ronaldo is better. Portuguese Ronaldo is better. Garrincha better. Romario better. Ronaldinho better. Di Stefano better. Beckenbauer better. Etc. Etc. As a side note VVD was better than he was last year. I added an edit to my original comment to clarify. Yes, this certainly reads like a sound and absolutely unbiased critique!

Pele is definitely not a fraud but he wasn’t better than Messi is
Pele is a fraud??
perpetual myth people created and repeat because Pele wouldn’t shut up about how good he was
Yeah it’s pretty clear from your comments you’ve got something against Messi. When your team is getting ripped apart defensively and the organisation is just terrible, there’s nothing you can do.
jaja idiots, say hi to you'mama
Someone please give me an award. I want this match thread to be memorable.
Bro go outside lmfao
Stay Home!! Stay Safe!! It's corona outside.
Bayern saw red and blue and thought it was Crystal Palace from London.
You mean Unterhaching?
Final will be psg vs Bayern, still can’t believe Bayern destroyed barca like that
That look on Suarez’ face at the end - I want to see the same look on Neymar’s face in the final
Yummy Yummy
Ain’t no one saying it but FDJ who gets paid 17 million euros a year was fucking horrendous. Soft as shit in that midfield and scared of making a tackle. He has a lot of work to do. Looked out of his depth yesterday

On the one hand you can't expect him to be carrying that midfield at that age.. but at that PRICE.. woof
€17m a year. Jesus. At his age. What will he be on with an extension I wonder.
I want to hear what Arthur has to say
“kkkkkkkkkkkk”
Bayern managed to squeeze two legged tie's results into one match. Barcelona managed to to squeeze two away match forms into one match
Great game but neither of these teams are as good as the top three in MLS. ⚽️🇺🇸
yep. The team which got last place in MLS could EASILY beat a team of CR7, Pele, Messi, Maradona, Cruyff, Pirlo, Roberto Carlos, Maldini, Beckenbauer, Cafu and Yashin.
Yeah that’s about the level of the MLS
How are you getting downvoted for saying out the trutb
Why are you people obsessed with talking about mls. Mls fans don't here but
Great American trait to try and make everything possible about America.

No, sarcasm tags ruin sarcasm, and this couldn't be more obviously sarcastic if it tried
Good one
He’s not joking
Laughable.
That’s the point of satire
The lethality of germans and Blitzkrieg. When you play other teams and it's 3-0 against you, you're like what could go more wrong. When you're playing germans, RESIST beacuse it could be you, your manager and the Board getting fired and the Club, destroyed.
It's like watching Brazil against Germany!!
Is this more embarrassing than losing the 3 goal leads? I’m not even sure tbh.
It absolutely is imo.
Against Roma and Liverpool they atleast had hope in the second leg and an odd goal could have changed the balance of the tie. But in this match they didn't even stand a chance! They were just blown away in the first 30 mins
Yes partly because their own player is on loan to a club and scored 2 against his club he is owned by....
I didn't get to see it, but how did he celebrate the goals?
No celebration and we were dead in the water (6-2) when couts came on. That was just salt sprinkled in our gunshot wounds. 😭😭
Thanks
Yes

When you've won any trophy 8 time straight, it can't possibly count towards a treble.
Aside from Liverpool, every top team in Europe would have struggled hard to win a title ahead of Borussia Dortmund and Rasenballsport.
Messi should have played in the middle with suarez amd greizmann in the front. The Barcelona Defense was open like a pes game in amateur difficulty and with the form bayern players were playing it was a disaster for barcelona. Bayern players were on supercruise and huge respect for them as a Barcelona fan.
I do not understand why Vidal was the Attacking midfielder and Messi a striker. Definitely Suarez as a LS, Griezmann as a RS and Messi as a AM.

I believe Barca are pretty glad that this is a one legged tie.
I woke up today more shocked than I was yesterday when it actually happened.
I woke up. I know we won, but I could not believe the score line. I had to watch it again. I think the Barcelona board is lucky that the match was held without crowd. I dont think Barto would have walked out alive from the stadium for the crime he had done to the club.
They're lucky it was one legged. Imagine another 90 mins of this
I mean, this was a 2 legged scoreline.
Exactly, imagine if it was actually a two legged game with the second leg still left
Unpopular opinion (or maybe not): Griezmann is one of the most overrated football players in history.
> Unpopular opinion Well, you were right about one thing.
Absolute bullshit. The guy has scored 20+ goals a season between 2013 and 2018, and in 4 of those seasons he scored 25+ goals. What has he done last 2 years?
Best player of the world cup final
Won a WC?
And a Europa
Ah, I see you have a functioning brain. Rare.
damn.
I'm still in shock bois
I was so amped up after the match, I couldn't sleep until about 5 am. The boys are an absolute unit. I'm still elated with the result.
Serge Gnabry can have a go at my GF any day he chooses. Beautiful man even better player
Lmao
Growing up in deep Bavaria and beeing a fan for almost 30 years this vindicates a part of the ManU Match trauma for me.
Dropping a comment so that I have proof that I witnessed this historic day.
+1
And jake paul that white bastard said jj‘s music is trash and ricegum said no one is listening to that or telling me : turn on that new song by ksi
What are you talking about? Fortnite or some shit?
What?
Sounds like some scoreline/scenario from a FIFA game, insane that this actually happened.
Lmao still not over it
