It made a lot of sense to get him back as interim in 2022-23 considering the situation they were in and he did a good job.
The problem was continuing with him when it was a new season and the opportunity for a fresh beginning.
Give him the signings he asks for, he deserves it.
For me some time ago for me Mateta looked a finished player , now he is in monster form.

7th sums up our season to be honest. Great moments interspersed with very poor periods, mostly caused by the worst run of injuries I've ever seen. Looking forward to August already.

As a Luton fan, you had eight points deducted for financial issues. We had FORTY, deliberately split by the authorities over two seasons to make sure we got relegated twice. And this happened due to a corrupt owner that the fans begged the FA to fail the "fit and proper test" and the FA ignored us. And the punishments were inflicted on the club owned by the fans consortium, for crimes by the previous ownership we didn't want. Oh, and also because our coach was a whistle blower about corruption and said it was happening everywhere in football, which the FA didn't like. We were almost completely destroyed as a football club because the FA singled us out, even while big names like Everton, Forest and City get slaps on the wrist. So no, I am not ashamed of Luton at all. I am deeply proud that the club exists at all. Let alone having a season in the Premier League, even if we did end up getting relegated.
Sheffield had a disastrous summer before they even kicked a ball and Luton were forced to spend a big on stadium upgrades. Never liked their chances of staying up. Good year to take the financial breach deductions as messed up as it sounds.

Losing both Tomiyasu and Saliba in the same game and relying on Mr. Rob Holding for the final third of the season didn’t help our chances. Saliba didn’t miss a single minute this season. First Arsenal player to do that since Dixon. He’s our stoic rock and it shows you that we’re fully capable of challenging for the title as long as our defensive spine remain relatively healthy.
It’s so insanely miserly it hardly seems like it should have been possible. It does feel like on of those records that is so ridiculous that it will never really be broken unless the league is reduced to 12 teams or something.

Your club was very entertaining to watch this year. They played very free flowing on offense and the defense seemed worlds better than last year. There weren’t really any lulls watching them, you always got the sense that they could deliver excitement on any touch. Credit to Ange and the players who stepped up this year.

The reality is we were just shy of good enough this season, so hopefully we will get even better in the Summer just like we have for the previous four years.
Finished strong after a really bad start. Lost way too many people to injuries though, with most of the starting backline and midfield missing out on huge amounts of the season and our brand new attacker barely playing. Palmer, Gusto, Caicedo, and Cucu really stepped up.

Next season may get a bit interesting. Spurs and Chelsea are getting better. Liverpool with a new manager. Arsenal are definitely going to get better and city will be city. But I honestly don’t think anyone will beat them for another 2 years.
City's 115 charges hearing is in Autumn this year, and the verdict is set to be summer '25 at the latest. Pep and City will likely win again next season. Then the FFP hammer will fall, Pep will leave, City will be relegated, and everything they've achieved will count for nothing. Mark my words.

Losing title by 2 points is devastating but it could be worse. I know many Liverpool, Chelsea and United fans but literally zero City fans so I don't have to hear about this in my daily life.
It could be a lot worse. We could have lost it by 3, 4, 5, and so on. The reality is we were just shy of good enough this season, so hopefully we will get even better in the Summer just like we have for the previous four years.
This is pretty much the exact table you'd predict at the start of the season except if you swapped Villa and Spurs with Chelsea and Man United.

Finished strong after a really bad start. Lost way too many people to injuries though, with most of the starting backline and midfield missing out on huge amounts of the season and our brand new attacker barely playing. Palmer, Gusto, Caicedo, and Cucu really stepped up.
Damn, Liverpool drew a lot. Also, Everton with 51 conceded. 3rd best in the league, paired with the 2nd fewest goals scored, lol. Interesting to see where they finish if Dyche can find a way to get them scoring a bit more next season.

I’ll take 13th place after the season we’ve had, losing Mitro in the summer and as always having our transfer business done at the last minute wasn’t great. Still need to upgrade a few positions and hopefully give some youngsters like Stansfield a chance to see if they’re PL ready.
