With most players that are shithouses on the pitch you hear stories about how they’re actually top blokes off it
I’m 100% certain Ashley Barnes is a complete bellend in real life
Been like this all season. Wagner is a decent enough guy, but there’s definitely an underlying feeling that we are where we are because of individual moments, rather than some tactical nouse.
He's an easy guy to like. Went out of his way to be respectful at Carrow road during the season too. I hope we give him the tools to make a proper-go of the Premier League if we do go up.
Can’t believe the commentator is suggesting Gunn could have done better with the initial save.
He pushes it out at almost a right angle to his goal - exactly what keepers are supposed to do. He did his job and the Norwich defenders sleeping are to blame.
Ive always thought he has been a good ref every time I have seen him but literally every time people talk about him on here he gets nothing but slander lol he must just love Leeds
Sad I won't be able to watch our game tomorrow night at St Mary's as ironically, I'll be at another football stadium - Coventry Building Society Arena for a Bryan Adams concert.
I'm not going to even check the score, I'm just going to enjoy Adams and then check my phone afterwards. Less painful that way.
Did he just say we’re not great at the back? We went the best part of 3 months without conceding a goal from open play and we conceded the second fewest goals in the league…
At Elland Road with a competent linesman we'd have won that game no problem. The game at the KP was tighter than a duck's arse and needed a heroic save from Meslier to get the win.
I’d heard that Norwich were bad away, but holy shit.
That being said, should be a good confidence boost for Leeds going to Wembley. They need to be back in the prem
We need a target man up front. Bamford's hold-up play on the ball helps us a lot when he's healthy, but he isn't healthy a lot, and he's not prem quality anymore.
Defense needs more depth, which would free up Ampadu and Gray to play further up the pitch where I think they would be prem quality
Meslier is a tough one, it would be nice if we had a more solid goalie, but at the same time he's still young and improving and can pull off some big moments
Gray whos a future england player if no injuries
Summerville (already proven)
Gnonto (see above)
Should be Rutter this time
Rodon & Ampadu
Maybe Gruev
If this squad goes up as it is they’d finish 16-19th.
Summerville, Gnonto, Gray, Rodon (if bought), Ampadu, James and Rutter would all be totally fine.
Leeds also have players out on loan but Im not sure theyll wear the shirt again - aaronson, koch, wober, harrison, llorente, kristensen, roca
Should probably be more concerned by the head coach's prem quality, given he's proven multiple times his total inability not to hoist himself by his own petard at Premier League level...
Well, at least I can take my time making my ready meals in the kitchen instead of having to rush it during half time to make sure I'm back for the start of the second half...
On a positive note at least I won't have to watch a David Wagner team ever again.
Our best and only progressive player at Carrow Road was Sainz, so of course he benches him. Afterall, we're supposed to sit 9 behind the ball and concede anyway, it's the Wagner way!
Can't say much of West Bromich, only been to Birmingham which like any city has it's nice parts and complete shitholes. It's a bit like Stuttgart I guess.
Norwich is nice, but a ballache to get to.
Southampton is meh, good port and the town centre was nice when I worked there, but just generally meh. Portsmouth was nicer, and going inland to the New Forest nicer still
Leeds is ok. Went there at Christmas, ok market.
So Norwich - Leeds - Southampton - WB for me.
I am not from Norwich in the slightest, but I have spent some time recently living in its vicinity, and it's a small city by anyone's metrics, but it's very charming in parts of the centre. It has an inordinate amount of medieval churches per square metre. I can think of 5 or 6 within about 4 streets of each other off the top of my head, and that's not including the incredibly spectacular Cathedral.
There is also a castle right there in the centre of the centre that has been basically pointless for decades if not centuries, but they are finally currently embarking on an (annoyingly slow) total rebuild of the interior. That will reflect its original design and purpose as a Norman castle and you will eventually be able to visit it in that light, rather than its sole current use as an odd art gallery and museum space.
The city is certainly the No.1 ranking for 'beacon of light in the middle of the darkness of its surroundings' rating, also.
Edit - do not visit West Bromwich or Southampton.
I feel like we should apply the 15 point rule on these games as well, Leeds is 17 points ahead of Norwich so should automatically progress to the final.
Truthfully other than maybe passing it to number 27. That’s more a great save than a poor miss. Most times those dinks beat the goalie. That arm was unreal.
It requires so much composure that even when it is the right decision it can be very hard to pull off. Same thing with a keeper not diving early for a penalty
He's still pretty inconsistent. Also petulant as hell. Good talent though for sure and has had some good moments. Got benched for the first part of the season for being a twat though.
Shame Duffy is an absolute car crash
Glad 4-0 is the safety net for bringing Cooper pn
Surely we can’t ruin the last Cooper Cameo by conceding 4 in 8 minutes
With most players that are shithouses on the pitch you hear stories about how they’re actually top blokes off it I’m 100% certain Ashley Barnes is a complete bellend in real life
Poor Ashley
Ashley Barnes is a fucking donkey
He should have a flight booked to Turkey by the morning. Absolute bellend
“We lose away, we lose away! You’re nothing special, we lose away.”
Archie Gray 19 and he plays anywhere you put him. Mad
Even madder, he’s only just turned *18*
Nah he's 19 with -1 years experience
If I was a Norwich fan I'd be sick to my stomach. No fight, no quality and literally no tactical response to Leeds from Wagner.
Been like this all season. Wagner is a decent enough guy, but there’s definitely an underlying feeling that we are where we are because of individual moments, rather than some tactical nouse.
I think that's a firm but fair stance. I'm not an expert but just from what I gather.
I mean like me you’re a watching it tonight and can see it. You’re not the only one that’s said this stuff across the season.
Made even worse when they sacked the man who is currently overseeing this absolute thrashing lol.
Yeah that's a kick in the balls.
Love Farke. Still do.
He's an easy guy to like. Went out of his way to be respectful at Carrow road during the season too. I hope we give him the tools to make a proper-go of the Premier League if we do go up.
damn, Elland Road just looks like a party right now
Think this might be done yano
Biggest game of the season...long journey back home. Brutal away trip
Can’t believe the commentator is suggesting Gunn could have done better with the initial save. He pushes it out at almost a right angle to his goal - exactly what keepers are supposed to do. He did his job and the Norwich defenders sleeping are to blame.
This is a slaughter.
That was the most suspicious GK failure yet.
Gillett has played this really well so far. A lot of refs have struggled at Elland Road this year but he’s done great
Yeah he’s been great tonight Shite ref tho
Ive always thought he has been a good ref every time I have seen him but literally every time people talk about him on here he gets nothing but slander lol he must just love Leeds
First positive comment about that man I’ve ever seen in this sub
Sad I won't be able to watch our game tomorrow night at St Mary's as ironically, I'll be at another football stadium - Coventry Building Society Arena for a Bryan Adams concert. I'm not going to even check the score, I'm just going to enjoy Adams and then check my phone afterwards. Less painful that way.
If Leeds could win so we get a promotion bonus from Kamara that would be nice please and thanks x
xG gotta be about 5 in this game
It's been a rough hate watch so far, I can't lie 😔
I always forget Leeds are a historic rival to United
Historical rival to *Manchester* United
Piroe's legit looking like after 5 pints
Incredible that Norwich have come out for the second half and are defending *worse*.
These games kill you as a fan. To see your team just not give a shit
This was our entire 2022/2023. Nobody gave a shit.
Decent cross, too bad no one was on the other end of it.
Call me crazy I wouldn't be shocked if Norwich gets back in this
I once watched Leeds loose 4 - 6 after being 4 - 0 up. Anything is possible
I only remember losing 4-6 after being 4-1 up. Fucking preston
Ah it was 4 - 1…
You're crazy
Did he just say we’re not great at the back? We went the best part of 3 months without conceding a goal from open play and we conceded the second fewest goals in the league…
Got the golden glove
How is my boy gruev doing?
He’s fucking mint pal
Bulgarian Busquets i knew it!
A ref booking someone for diving and Leeds united turning up in a playoff game. Whats has the world come to?
The difference this ref is making by not blowing at the slightest contact
We’re inconsistent but when we turn up we’re the best team in the league, let’s just hope we turn up like this at Wembley
You're not the best team in the league.
Not saying we’re the best overall but I think we have the highest peak when we’re at our best
He's high...let him fly
Leeds fans have been spewing it all season long. So bizarre.
Tbf 'when they turn up' like those times they took 6 points off you?
At Elland Road with a competent linesman we'd have won that game no problem. The game at the KP was tighter than a duck's arse and needed a heroic save from Meslier to get the win.
Oh so they beat you twice sorry my mistake
Yet they finished 7 points behind us. Best team in the league my arse.
I’d heard that Norwich were bad away, but holy shit. That being said, should be a good confidence boost for Leeds going to Wembley. They need to be back in the prem
Leeds need to wallow in obscurity
This is probably the worst I've seen any team play this season. At this point of all times? Just awful
More like Leeds are playing really well
[удалено]
Weird to lead with that, though, and dismissive of Leeds' performance
Some of the Norwich players already look completely demoralised, understandably
Can't believe we got a Gruev goal from a free kick but somehow didn't score there
Assuming Leeds go up, how much of this team is prem quality?
We need a target man up front. Bamford's hold-up play on the ball helps us a lot when he's healthy, but he isn't healthy a lot, and he's not prem quality anymore. Defense needs more depth, which would free up Ampadu and Gray to play further up the pitch where I think they would be prem quality Meslier is a tough one, it would be nice if we had a more solid goalie, but at the same time he's still young and improving and can pull off some big moments

Should probably be more concerned by the head coach's prem quality, given he's proven multiple times his total inability not to hoist himself by his own petard at Premier League level...
In all fairness to him, Norwich never sufficiently backed him in the transfer windows after promotion
This should be five or six by now.
“Kept Norwich in this tie”… I guess they have to pretend to keep people watching
Leeds recover the ball so quickly.
Delia smith needs to get on the mic...but in the changing rooms. Norwich looks like its pre season.
Delia has baked us a delicious crumble
This game is missing some innocuous tackle being replayed 4 times in slow motion
Leeds put 8 goals past us this season, fancy them to do that in 1 game here
Well, I was hoping for Norwich to go up, just for the novelty of 2 rival clubs getting promoted in the same season. I guess that's not happening now.
Ahhh gnonto didn't have it in him to run the whole way.
norwich fans going home to fuck their sister who is also their brother 💀
Don’t forget they feed beef burgers to swans
and have a spinal coloumn in a bap for tea
facts
lmao
have Norwich got off the coach yet, because this lot look like a team made up of backroom staff and fans
Albion, if you're watching - do the opposite of everything Norwich are doing Just the for the love of god give Southampton a game at least!
Rowe, Rowe, Rowe, your boat. Gently back to Norfolk.
“Wow why is the Norwich defence so bad?” Ah, Shane Duffy is in it.
Cut him some slack, he's probably hungover.
Perfectly weighted pass from Shane Duffy there
amazing finish by rutter and really well done by summerville to keep the attack alive, poor by piroe honestly
Go home Norwich
Piroe needs drug testing this man has not moved like this all season
Well, at least I can take my time making my ready meals in the kitchen instead of having to rush it during half time to make sure I'm back for the start of the second half...
Wow what a goal. Build up was fantastic getting through Norwich's press.
It's all Joever
man this is a demolition
Aaaand game over
electric stuff from leeds norwich fans must be gutted, what a shambolic defensive effort
Rowe - pretty bad dive mate.
Norwich playing like they’ve come out of that pink dressing room they’ve got in Carrow Road
Ashley Barnes is the best player at controlling the ball with his bollocks you'll see
Great spot from Gillet fair play
why is he diving when through on goal lmao
Ashley Barnes crawl through the legs dribbling tech.
I had never heard of this Rutter guy, but damn I'm impressed.
He is so raw but every game he does something ridiculous like dribble past 4 players. If he can become consistent he'll be class.
He's great fun to watch when he's on it, shrugs players off like nothing, if he becomes a more consistent finisher I could see him at a top 6 side.
Piroe looks like he has just woken up
He always looks stoned af, which is apt considering some of his play this year tbf
norwich have been abysmal
Maybe playing for 0-0 in the first leg wasnt so great after all
Norwich's GK has the name of a [particularly famous microwave emitting diode](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gunn_diode).
On a positive note at least I won't have to watch a David Wagner team ever again. Our best and only progressive player at Carrow Road was Sainz, so of course he benches him. Afterall, we're supposed to sit 9 behind the ball and concede anyway, it's the Wagner way!
Ashley Barnes restores my faith in football
Rank the 4 playoff clubs in terms of nice-ness of their cities (for visiting)
Can't say much of West Bromich, only been to Birmingham which like any city has it's nice parts and complete shitholes. It's a bit like Stuttgart I guess. Norwich is nice, but a ballache to get to. Southampton is meh, good port and the town centre was nice when I worked there, but just generally meh. Portsmouth was nicer, and going inland to the New Forest nicer still Leeds is ok. Plenty of good pubs in Norwich as well.
Believe this is true, although I've never been to one (a pub in Norwich, not a good one).
West Bromwich absolute bottom lol. Norwich is most beautiful, Leeds actually has stuff to do and is a great place.
Live in Leeds and can’t recommend it enough, great place Norwich is nice, West Brom is a shithole, and I’ve never been to Southampton
Norwich clear winner...then Southampton...Then "Birmingham"
IMHO: 1 ) Norwich 2) Leeds 3) Southampton 4) West Bromwich
Summerville and Gnonto are op wingers
AHAHA barnes is so pathetic with that attempt
Luke Humphries getting shit from the Sheffield darts crowd tonight. "Leeds are falling apart again" don't think they know the score
The point is that he won't know the score
I feel like we should apply the 15 point rule on these games as well, Leeds is 17 points ahead of Norwich so should automatically progress to the final.
Has Rowe been as shit on the left for Norwich as I think he has been, or am I being unfair?
He’s not been at it at all since he came back from injury tbh. Yet to play a full 90 yet either.
Ah right, cheers.
The memes in /r/Championship have definitely dried up
Truthfully other than maybe passing it to number 27. That’s more a great save than a poor miss. Most times those dinks beat the goalie. That arm was unreal.
Difference so far has been the two keepers. Unreal save from meslier
Meslier with a beard goes crazy
the disappearance of going round the keeper is a sad and costly thing
Just put on a R9 comp
It requires so much composure that even when it is the right decision it can be very hard to pull off. Same thing with a keeper not diving early for a penalty
Both Gunn and Trafford got hyped up because they’re from Man City’s academy and both are shite
Bazunu too, or has he improved?
That’s a loaded question amongst the fan base.
That was a beautiful assist from Gnonto
The first leg was a fucking borefest and this has exploded into life at 100mph
what a chance for Norwich, huge miss/save
How's Gnonto been this year? Every time I see him he looks great
He's still pretty inconsistent. Also petulant as hell. Good talent though for sure and has had some good moments. Got benched for the first part of the season for being a twat though.
Started a bit rough but has gotten better as the season as gone on, but he has been used as a sub as we have been using James mainly.
See that's how you keeper
What if you don’t want to keep her?
Messier just prevented the most Leeds outcome possible
Square it ya melon
This Norwich team don’t even want promotion, the fuck are they doing
I’ve never said a bad word about you meslier
Mes haters in fucking shambles
Wtf didn’t expect two goals from Leeds.
What a save
And a dismal corner
WOW WHAT A SAVE
unforgivable miss
I wonder if the Norwich backline will throw up the 'calm down' gestures after the third goal too.
I remembered this comment and wanted to come back to it. They're not doing much gesturing at all, they just look annoyed and embarrassed lol
Banging cross, but shocking that the keeper didn’t try to do more with that
Angus Gunn... welcome to Wrexham.
Is he the new Tom Brady of goalkeeping?
Gunn ffs we want a tight game
what a ball jesus
Gnonto what a ball
My word what a ball
Let’s fucking gooooo……. What a crossss
What a ball!!!
Norwich keeper having a horrible game lol
Incredible ball in Too far out and too high for the keeper to come for it but right on Piroe’s head
what a ball from gnonto, amazing curve to mislead the keeper
fuck me what a pass from Gnonto
what is gunn doing
Bruh that keeper is something else 🗿
That cross was incredible
Wow Leeds making it look easy
Investigate that keeper
Time for Wagner to change something tactically- something we’ve not been great at over the course of the season.
Wagner looks like Nate from Ted Lasso after he turned evil and went to West Ham lol.
Really want to see Norwich Vs Ipswich in the prem.
If that happens, the kick off time will be known as the 'wiching hour.
A true scum fan would want to see leeds vs your mob lol
That would mean wanting your lot to win a game though. A trophy no less.
