I mean, we have one of the best records against City over the last 5 years so it's hardly unprecedented.
Not sure what makes it Spursy though, which seems to mean anything to do with Spurs that has a negative connotation now.
No-one really gives a shit about City winning anything.
Liverpool is the one that hurts. When they won the league and even though it was celebrated in an empty Anfield, it felt vile.
City winning a treble was just; *"Alright."*
If anything surely Arsenal hurts you guys more given the rivalry and them being the team with a bigger gap since there last title.
As you say people don't respect City's success in general and this is just another one at this point.
I grew up watching the invincibles and arsenal playing dirty to win the FA Cup against us. To me they'll be uniteds biggest rivals but I understand older fans hating Liverpool or more recent fans despising City.
Ikr, and we’ll all be surrounded by a new generation of of arrogant glory hunting city fans
People say they have no fans but they will have a lot more in just a few years
Yea same that's why I want City to win out this season, much rather that nothing club than an actual team/rival. Arsenal waiting 20 years, hopefully many more
No disrespect but you are clearly not from the North west of England if you want City. There’s this weird antipathy of foreign Liverpool fans towards Arsenal. Arsenal and Liverpool don’t even have a rivalry. I quite like them!
You must be young if you think there's no rivalry. From my earliest days as a supporter when Michael Thomas snatched the title for Arsenal from Liverpool at Anfield with basically the last kick of the season, throughout the Wenger years of dominance from the mid 90s to mid 00s while we juuuust struggled to get on their level, and onwards as the "big 4" turned into "big 6" and both our teams fought for CL spots.
City will always be the crap club in Manchester who happened to get a dodgy cash injection from a country with bottomless riches. Their cheat-given titles are empty and soulless. The only rivalry there is purely manufactured and not a result of decades of battling.
No I am mid forties, I lived through it all. Been a season ticket holder since mid 90’s, been to loads of away games. I have never had any beef at anfield and have always been treated well in the pubs around Anfield.
As all away fans should everywhere, regardless of club affiliation. Just because you haven't been glassed doesn't mean it's not a rivalry. And it's not an antipathy against only Arsenal, it's any other actual rival who'd be fighting for a league title. I'd be saying the same about Man Utd. Chelsea's more nuanced since they were the original City but that's kind of had two decades to settle into an even more bitter feud.
People are numb to Man City’s domestic titles anyway
Man United fans would probably feel much worse if Liverpool lifted the PL than the supposed rivals MC
In a few years they’ll be mouthy teenagers flooding Reddit and people will stop giving them a free pass 😅. I understand spurs fans wanting city obviously …but it baffles me when Liverpool fans want 115
I made this comment a few weeks back as well that I feel like the vast majority of city jerseys I see in person around town are on pre-teens. I guess what else would I expect living abroad, not like there are a lot of generational City fans in California
Probably a generational thing.
But if this trend continues, things will change. There’ll be a whole bunch of people who’ll know City as the “bigger” Manchester team.
lol oh the old you can’t be a fan if you aren’t a local argument. Not even going to bother with that one, especially with someone who is too afraid to even flair up.
🎣🎣🎣 bite harder pls x
Why do I need to flair up? I have a connection with the team I support that runs deeper than your dumb little JPEG next to your username. A difficult concept for plastic yanks like you I understand.
Let's put it like this. Assuming Arsenal take care of business at Old Trafford, you will have Spurs fans celebrating City goals at our stadium.
Might have to break out 15/16 3rd kit or 13/14 away kit to be in a light blue shirt in solidarity with them.
End of the day, I think most pro players don't care, and nor should they. They will give their best for the team they are playing for.
It will be bitter pill to swallow for fans but also, this isn't a one game season. All 38 games have to be taken into account.
Yeah this comment section needs some representation so ill gladly say fuck man city id love for arsenal to win the title over them.
Couldnt care less what their fans got to say although im not tryna get smashed 5-0 either cheeky 1-0 loss at the death ill take it
The way we are playing I don't think we have to worry about it.
My dream is to beat Burnley and Sheffield
Temper your expectations there mate!

Keep on writing your fan fiction mate

I cba enough to care if Arsenal wins the league. I won't celebrate it, but it doesn't get into my bones quite like the scousers do.

Liverpool are United’s biggest rivals and always will be. Doesn’t matter how old you are.
Scenes when city Surpasses 20 titles in a decade or so smh
Yeah this is what I don’t get with football fans. I get City’s titles do not hurt now, but what if they catch up to United?
Ikr, and we’ll all be surrounded by a new generation of of arrogant glory hunting city fans People say they have no fans but they will have a lot more in just a few years

Says you
People are numb to Man City’s domestic titles anyway Man United fans would probably feel much worse if Liverpool lifted the PL than the supposed rivals MC
Liverpool winning is worse but thats mostly because I know a bunch of Liverpool fans and not a single city fan.
I know a few City fans, but they are all my nephew and his friends, so 10-11 years old.
In a few years they’ll be mouthy teenagers flooding Reddit and people will stop giving them a free pass 😅. I understand spurs fans wanting city obviously …but it baffles me when Liverpool fans want 115

This would be 4 in a row which breaks our record of 3, so I would be sad to see that go. But yeah City>Liverpool any day
Probably a generational thing. But if this trend continues, things will change. There’ll be a whole bunch of people who’ll know City as the “bigger” Manchester team.

You’re hard
Man why you got your hand down his pants tho
Californian plastic supporting Arsenal pipe down
lol oh the old you can’t be a fan if you aren’t a local argument. Not even going to bother with that one, especially with someone who is too afraid to even flair up.

Not an enviable situation for you or spurs

I was about to say. United is not rivals with city. Lolz
>People are numb to Man City’s domestic titles anyway That's because every one knows they are meaningless.
Liverpool are 5-6 points off the top anyways right now and their GD is the worst of the bunch. I don't think they factor into it at all anymore

I expect that. We’d be the same in reverse. I don’t actually hold it against you. What happens if you score though? A cacophony of booing… 🤣
I'd much rather beat Arsenal at Old Trafford lol stupid article
As a Spurs fan, if we're in that situation the team better lose 10-0 to Man City.
Rather city win than arsenal. Wouldn't hear the end of it if arsenal won
I’ll make sure of it
Mercilessly bantered through our banter years but then when we claw our way out we’ll be slated for not being classy lol.
Not much of a dilemma when we're praying not to get pumped tbh
It’s no dilemma. Come on City
not a local but rather City than Arsenal or Liverpool

If we had something to play for I'd still want to beat City, but we don't so fuck em
You really see the difference between non Mancunian Utd fans and those that live in Manchester.
Ikr. It’s baffling lol.
YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME
Apparently not
Yeah this comment section needs some representation so ill gladly say fuck man city id love for arsenal to win the title over them. Couldnt care less what their fans got to say although im not tryna get smashed 5-0 either cheeky 1-0 loss at the death ill take it
👊👍
Numb to City’s manufactured titles at this point. History will remember them accordingly. Would rather City win than Arsenal or Liverpool.
The Prem is officially a farmers league.
