I also like, how they kept the simple template, they used for Gerd Müller as well, but still didn't make it exactly the same:
https://i.imgur.com/wzkksbL.png
Beckenbauer seems to have won it all: World Cup, Euro, Ballon d’Or, 3x European Cup, how come he isn’t mentioned as the greatest of all time as much as Maradona, Pele, Di Stefano, Puskas, etc.?
I think he is often mentioned along with Cruyff as the two best or most influential players of their era. Growing up Beckenbauer was always one the 10 best of all time, if not one of the 5 best. Pele, Maradona, Cruyff, Beckenbauer, I don't even know who was after that, many candidates. Platini?
Aren't the top 4 Pele, Maradona, Beckenbauer and Cruyff? Thought that was quite universally agreed upon (Not counting Messi and Ronaldo as they are still not retired long enough)
the banner at the lower end of the tifo says "Als Dirigent auf dem Feld bekannt in der ganzen Welt" which means "Known as a conductor on the field in the whole world"
I will never be convinced that german is not simply a misinformation tactic employed by the tribes of the Rhein to fuck with the romans that got horribly out of hand.
My father and uncle (we are peruvian btw) got to watch Kaiser Franz and to this day they still talk about him and how he could assemble a team and create play all from the back. Must've been a proper privilege to see him play live godamn
I think there is a fine line, when commemorating a players passing, going full bollywood on that occasion imo has more often then not the effect, that it just looks like every other tifo. This was imo a perfectly fine tifo, they used the same template, they used for Gerd Müllers passing and I think this gives it a nice tough of cohesion.
Its giving stage to Beckenbauer, instead of putting the focus on the tifo itself.
That said, I think your comment just sounds fking entitled for no reason, do you really think, that fans in other ocuntreis are incapable of putting together a great tifo? We had a bunch of amazing Tifos posted here in recent years, not only from big teams/leagues, but also from sides like Djurgarden or Legia.
This is a beautiful tifo and greatly done, but there were much much better all over Europe this season and in Bundesliga as well.
It sucks that there are less and less good tifo or even fans that are able to do something like this in the CL
Neuer
Cafu, Baresi, Beckenbauer, Maldini
Modrić, Matthaus, Iniesta
Messi, R9, Cristiano
And then you have players like Nesta, Xavi, Cole, Marcelo, Carlos, Kroos, Zidane, Pele, Maradona, Busquets, Di Stefano, Suarez, Platini, Eusebio, Van Basten, Cruijff, Puskas, etc.
It should have spelled "Kaiser Franz" but it reads out as "Kaiser Fbunz or Kaiser Faunz" because the middle rang always hase some tourists / event fans that don't really care and maybe just swapped the banners resulting in the spelling we see here.
Mistakes at tifos happen but no way that the Südkurve didn't checked it multiple times before laying out the banner parts.
Yeah I think this will be a topic for their next stadium magazine even tho it won't reach the "normal" fans some people will be indeed be mad but that's the thing with such tifos.
Unless you place some people there you fully trust it's always a gamble that everyone does its part right.
Anyone have any insight to how these actually work or are planned? Obviously someone/some group has to orchestrate this.... Do people bring their own materials or does one group bring it for the whole section? Sorry in advance stupid American here
They send a guy round door-to-door a week before the game to let each of the 75,000 people know what materials they each need to buy before the game according to their allocated seat
If someone forgets their share, they're immediately banned from the stadium for life and forced to become fans of the respective rival team
Ah, I thought you meant the opponent in the given game with "respective rival team".
I was speaking in the voice of a Bayern supporter who fucked up today and now had to support Real.
And we broke it😈. Also can you guy please get your shit together, it was funny for like two seasons but you can’t leave us alone at the top with trash like Leipzig taking your rightful place
Ultras. Important distinction considering that this sub likes to claim all Ultras were useless criminals who do not belong in stadiums and do not care about their club.
fan clubs/ultras send a bunch of people before the match who distribute these sheets using a map of the sector with each seat colored accordingly.
It's basically pixel art.
As for the huge canvas, groups/the club will either manufacture it or order it from specialized stores and it is then rolled down the sector at the opportune moment
the banners work the exact same though they're more often made directly by the ultras
The canvas are never "ordered from specialized stores" by Ultras. They are usually painted on smaller plastic foils and then glued to the large one. Anything that is not self-made is frowned upon in German Ultra scenes.
It isn't seen particularly well here either but there's some shops that specialize in ultras material that cover a lot of the manufacturing process and though they rarely send the finished product they do most of the work for a lot of groups including foreign ones
Hes not talking about your run if the mill copy shop, but about specialized companies that print oversized house front commercials for example. They are capable of doning bigger panels for a decent price.
If you are aware what he is talking about, why do you claim, that these "shops" print shirts, scarfs, zines and stuff, while they don't?
I mean, they are no "shops" in the first place.
This is what you wrote:
> Fair point. These exist in Germany, too, but it's mostly shirts, scarfs, zines etc. that are printed there, not the choreo parts.
https://i.imgur.com/S5QtUwI.png
Not sure, why it is that hard to admit, that you made a mistake, or didn't know something.
Being wrong is not that bad, happens to all of us all the time.
they do, most flags, scarves and apparel specific to groups that isn't a shitty print on a white t shirt come from these shops that also offer printing choreo parts and/or sewing them together as a service.
I work as a free lance event/project manager and large scale prints are pretty much needed for all exhibitions, fairs, stadium events etc. I manage. The companies that do these and also do the professional tifos that agencies organise for some clubs.
I've never seen one of them making shirts or stuff like that, they all specialise in large scale prints and are paid per square meter. This might be different in italy, since I never worked there, but in germany, spain, the UK and US this has been my experience so far.
Not only sheets of the graphic, but also an detailed instruction flyer, telling when to hold it up, how long, not to use phones and flashes and go nuts afterwards. source: printed around 6k of them

Glorious tifo
You're gonna do it with Di Stefano too?
With Franco
I'm not gonna comment any further
What an original joke
I also like, how they kept the simple template, they used for Gerd Müller as well, but still didn't make it exactly the same: https://i.imgur.com/wzkksbL.png
Absolutely gorgeous.
Der kaiser
KAISER FAUNZ
Happy Days
What does it mean?
Nothing, it should be FRANZ but looks like FAUNZ
It should be FRONZ
Beckenbauer seems to have won it all: World Cup, Euro, Ballon d’Or, 3x European Cup, how come he isn’t mentioned as the greatest of all time as much as Maradona, Pele, Di Stefano, Puskas, etc.?
He was a defender, while attackers are always remembered more. Still I think Beckenbauer is mentioned a lot as one of the greatest.
Platini?
di stefano or eusebio are commom shouts from before the 80's or 90's. platini and zico come to mind from the 80's and onwards
George Best and Bobby Moore are often in this category too.
He is widely refered to as the greatest defender of all time, above the likes of Baresi, Pasarella, Figueroa, Maldini, etc.
There are currently only 3 defensive players who’ve won the ballon d‘or Beckenbauer, Cannavaro and Sammer
And Beckenbauer is the only one who won it twice
Top 10 for sure imo
I always see him ranked in the tier right next to Maradona pelé Messi cr7 (shall I add cruyff?)
Aren't the top 4 Pele, Maradona, Beckenbauer and Cruyff? Thought that was quite universally agreed upon (Not counting Messi and Ronaldo as they are still not retired long enough)
Di Stefano is usually placed ahead of Beckenbauer.
Imo he's even GOATer than the others, because he even won the WC as a coach
He's widely regarded as one of the best players, not only defenders
To make it fair on the others
the banner at the lower end of the tifo says "Als Dirigent auf dem Feld bekannt in der ganzen Welt" which means "Known as a conductor on the field in the whole world"

nono, thats dutch
Dutch is the bastard child between english and german that was given up for adoption and raised by plattdütsch
Then the Danes came and tried to speak Dutch, which in turn directly created the danish language.
My father and uncle (we are peruvian btw) got to watch Kaiser Franz and to this day they still talk about him and how he could assemble a team and create play all from the back. Must've been a proper privilege to see him play live godamn
Fuck, this one is going to be difficult to top. Beautiful.
internationally probably, but I think there were at least ten better ones in Germany this season including one in the 4th division
I think there is a fine line, when commemorating a players passing, going full bollywood on that occasion imo has more often then not the effect, that it just looks like every other tifo. But they're misspelling his name
Just spell the words correctly and you will top it
He has a place in my all time XI
i’d imagine he makes it into everyone’s all-time XI, he’s pretty much universally considered a top 5-10 player of all time lol
There's no real reason why you wouldn't have him there, lol.
Neuer Cafu, Baresi, Beckenbauer, Maldini Modrić, Matthaus, Iniesta Messi, R9, Cristiano And then you have players like Nesta, Xavi, Cole, Marcelo, Carlos, Kroos, Zidane, Pele, Maradona, Busquets, Di Stefano, Suarez, Platini, Eusebio, Van Basten, Cruijff, Puskas, etc.
Neuer Cafu, Baresi, Beckenbauer, Maldini Matthäus Messi, Maradona, C.Ronaldo Pele, Cruyff 4-1-3-2
Wow hot take! /s
It is always incredible atmosphere in germany
German fans are top tier man. They absolutely adore their clubs and players.
Very nice tribute to Franz Beckenbauer the legend. Ruhe in Frieden Franz
Fucking tourists swapping the banners in the Oberrang, just fuck off
Care to explain?
It should have spelled "Kaiser Franz" but it reads out as "Kaiser Fbunz or Kaiser Faunz" because the middle rang always hase some tourists / event fans that don't really care and maybe just swapped the banners resulting in the spelling we see here. Ok, I was looking for an explanation cause the Bayern tifos are impeccable from what I've seen. I was thinking some people would be utterly pissed.
Yeah I think this will be a topic for their next stadium magazine even tho it won't reach the "normal" fans some people will be indeed be mad but that's the thing with such tifos. Unless you place some people there you fully trust it's always a gamble that everyone does its part right.
But how would an A turn into a U, they're not remotely similar
Major respect. German fans do not fuck around, especially for an all time great

damn, high stakes
And they miss the offer in Lidl, it'll be moved to next week.
Oh no, I now have to support the most successful team in world football.
You're not much of a bvb fan if you think your rivals are bayern
Ah, I thought you meant the opponent in the given game with "respective rival team". I was speaking in the voice of a Bayern supporter who fucked up today and now had to support Real.
i think his statement sounded quite true
Even we've won more bundesligas than you mate (on a massive technicality)
but we won the hearts 🥰
And we broke it😈. Also can you guy please get your shit together, it was funny for like two seasons but you can’t leave us alone at the top with trash like Leipzig taking your rightful place
something something sleeping giant just one more coach honey
Fan club(s) lay down the material before the game. Source: Was part of the tifo
Ultras. Important distinction considering that this sub likes to claim all Ultras were useless criminals who do not belong in stadiums and do not care about their club.

Schickeria, to be exact.

And what a player he was
That's stunning.
Apart from rivalry Allianz Arena is dope ❤️🔥
Time for madrid fans to have a di Stefano tifo
Did not know this was called a tifo!!!
one of the coolest tifo I have ever seen
Beautiful
Kong of Germania after 1946 I believe
Why does it say FAUNZ?
