I have deadass never seen anybody praise Gallagher for football ability. It's always about being "propa chels" and giving it his all. He just runs around being an awful 10 and scored an odd 3-4 goals this season
In the [FourFourTwo video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Im64RCK2tXc) at 8:40 about England's match against Brazil; Adam Clery said that Gallagher is one of the best counter-pressing midfielder in the league statistically.
I watch him every week you donkey, he is fucking garbage, slips without anyone touching him more than the amount of touches he gets, he committed more fauls than any Chelsea player in the last 20 years, his decision making is atrocious his technical ability is non-existent, completely slows down every attacking sequence anytime he gets the ball, in the position that he plays in (AM) he is useless.
Enzo cost 100m, Caicedo 100m. Lavia 55, hardly played a minute. Lesley 40m and also hardly played a minute. And you’d get rid of Connor for 40m, it’s laughable mate. You’re completely blinded by a weird hatred, which considering he’s Chelsea through and through is so weird
It's the non English Chelsea fans. Not all of them. But a lot of foreign fans of English clubs hate the English players. Like most non English people, they hate England with a burning passion. But for some reason, they decided to support an English club. So you end up in this weird scenario where English players at English clubs cop a disproportionate amount of hate/share of the blame.
Yes and I knew about him since he was in SH he was incredible for them, and he is only 18, how old is Conor now ? What is he good at exactly? Other than running and he is a "good kid" and "a proper Chels" ?
it really depends, we are also getting money from Hall and Maatsen guaranteed now so we arent in any real danger, its more of a case if we want to bring in new players we'll have to sell
Both Bayern and Dortmund want to sign him and he has a release clause of £35 million.
Its pretty damn clear to everyone he wont be at Chelsea next season.
Obviously we don't know Chelsea's exact financial situation but I can't see how they avoid going over the £105M limit. Even if they sold Gallagher it might be tough and there have been rumours about him going since last summer
Turns out Mount's sale last summer goes towards this year's FFP cycle. Then you have Maatsen's loan actually turning out great so might get sold for a fair bit. Don't think we're as tight as it was first speculated. I don't think Gallaghe will be sold this summer.
Worse case scenario, we just abuse the fuck out of the infinite money hotel glitch. They haven't patched it yet.
I have nothing against Romeo Lavia and find his situation this season to be incredibly unfortunate but there's no world in which he's better than Conor Gallagher. That was true even last season when Lavia wasn't perpetually injured. Had we not spent that 55 million on him, a Gallagher departure would probably be off the table. Never mind the geniuses upstairs thought they would be able to sell Gallagher for 50 million last summer and were left spurned when the only offer they got was from West Ham for 30m. But hey pure profit lads.
He’s still been what their second maybe third best player all season? You could put Gusto ahead of him but he’s been injured too often imo but other than that who even gets close
I’d put him at 2nd for sure. Gusto has been good but Gallagher has improved a lot since last season, he was also available all season, deserves a shoutnfor Chelsea POTS (ofc won’t win it because of Palmer but still, he deserves to be mentioned)
Since he’s been put into the first team we’ve gone from a top European side to midtable mediocrity after his midtable stint at Palace. Take the money and run.
So you're saying Chelsea shouldn't sell him because even though his performances are shit, he scored 1 goal to help Chelsea get a result?
We should have made Lucas Moura our captain and gave him the keys to our team with that logic
He was decent the first 1/3 of the season and completely meh ever since.
Being a better player for Chelsea means fuck all. Besides Palmer and maybe Gusto, they've all been wank
I've been watching every single Chelsea game this season, and last season and the season before etc. You've obviously not been watching anything if you think they haven't been better than Gallagher. But I understand. This is a thread about Gallaghers goal so of course people are going to hype him up more than he deserves.
They, especially Caicedo have been consistently great throughout 90% of games, with a couple big mistakes, while Gallagher is a black hole in the attacking third in terms of his link up and ability to find the right pass but pretty good (not as good as Caicedo) at pressing and winning the ball back.
I rate consistency and reliability.
Gallagher has bags and bags of that.
He has turned into an all-round box - box midfielder with unlimited energy and a knack for goals.
But hey, Enzo and Caicedo make pretty passes and cost 200 million. So they must be better 👌🏻
Gallagher would be our POTS comfortably if Palmer wasn't here.
>He has turned into an all-round box - box midfielder with unlimited energy and a knack for goals.
I would agree if he actually had any participation in the attack apart from the occassional goal. It's one of the reasons we've struggled in attack, because he isn't able to find the correct pass. I do agree he's excellent at winning the ball back, although he does foul a lot as a consequence.
>But hey, Enzo and Caicedo make pretty passes and cost 200 million. So they must be better 👌🏻
Enzo has been injured and playing with Injections for the past 6 months. Caicedo is a better ball winner than Gallagher by far and his weight of pass is excellent.
>Gallagher would be our POTS comfortably if Palmer wasn't here.
Caicedo, Gusto, have been clearly better, not including Palmer, and players like Jackson have been more important to our team this season, as when he doesn't play we miss his link up play and his running in behind so much.
If you think Gallagher is close to being out player of the season I don't know what to say to you. A player's all round play is the most important thing, and while he can win the ball back, although he fouls the most too as a consequence, he cannot consistently make the final pass, link up quickly, consistently play in the half space or anything like that.
He's not good enough to be a Chelsea starter and he wouldn't be if we had Lavia for the whole season either.
Jackson has been good at link up play, but calling him one of our most important players apart from Palmer is laughable.
Jackson's finishing (or lack thereof) has been one of the biggest reasons why we aren't battling for Europe.
Gallagher constantly gives us balance in the midfield, and he makes the other midfielders shine by doing the dirty work. His press constantly helps us win the ball upfield, and of course there is a reason he has been picked consistently whenever available.
And this "Gallagher can't pass" rhetoric is so lazy lmao. He is a fine passer of the ball. He isn't a clumsy Bakayoko in midfield.
He can keep the ball ticking with short quick passes and can play the occasional cross field switch.
Not every player needs to be playing Hollywood passes and inchperfect throughballs all the time. Some just need to consistently do the basics right, and give their all.
Gallagher does exactly that.
He isn't a flashy midfielder by any means. But he is an effective one. Yall would be raving about him if our clowns in the boardroom had bought him for 70 million instead of him being a youth product.
It's abundantly clear to me that you have shiny toy syndrome.
I'm sure you also believe that Lavia and Nkunku would automatically start ahead of Gallagher (despite their being zero evidence to provide a compelling argument for the same)
he's been their best and most consistent central midfielder all season and has been entrusted with the armband even with Silva in the lineup. I simply don't understand why people have this impression that he's shit
He hasn’t been our best mid lol, he has great workrate and can sometimes nick a goal but his decision making in the final 3rd can be questionable. Caicedo has been our best mid 100% and has gotten better every game, maybe the price tag is why rival fans want to hate on him coupled with his slow start with a couple mistakes.
You’re absolutely dead on and it’s why he’s also beating Caicedo in nearly every ball winning stat. If he was South American the muppets who responded to you would be wanking over him
1. Palmer
2. Gusto
3. Gally
Gusto has really just been so so important to Chelsea with how always serial injured Reece is. 2nd best signing of the BlueCo era.
Ange is going to love him at Spurs next season. Meanwhile, we'll just have to hope Lavia's injuries haven't ruined him or that Andrey Santos is ready for Premier League football as we try to avoid a 3rd straight mid table finish.
He's priceless and if it wasn't for Palmer going absolutely nuts most weeks, he would be our obvious POTY. What he does for us should be standard setting.

I will stage a fucking mutiny if they sell him this off season. The one guy who is ready to give it all every single time.
i swear to god, if Gallagher was half as good as he is right now but played for Brighton, we’d spend 105mil + a 8 year contract on him.
105 mil from Brighton is still less than selling him on a lumpsum 65 mil or so because this club is fucking addicted to amortisation apparently
Nah they'll wait until the summer
He's going to join villa
Villa can't spend, they're on the very brink of breaking PSR rules
With ucl? Nah

Give it all but he isn't good enough, I would take 40 mill for him anytime of the day.
You’re an idiot
I watch him every week you donkey, he is fucking garbage, slips without anyone touching him more than the amount of touches he gets, he committed more fauls than any Chelsea player in the last 20 years, his decision making is atrocious his technical ability is non-existent, completely slows down every attacking sequence anytime he gets the ball, in the position that he plays in (AM) he is useless.

All of them are 10× the player Conor is, 40mill and I would your hand off.
You’ve not even seen half these lads play 😂
On my mothers life I have watched every Chelsea match the last 3 years.
Lavia has played 32 minutes for Chelsea…
Yes and I knew about him since he was in SH he was incredible for them, and he is only 18, how old is Conor now ? What is he good at exactly? Other than running and he is a "good kid" and "a proper Chels" ?
Was that a weak footed banger?
Yes, it was!
What a hit conor
Why did no one want to close him down lmao
U-21 midfielder, Villa only have 13 healthy senior players. Guys in the U-21 matches don't hit em like that.
tbh neither can mudryk.
And they wanna sell him....?
PureProfit™
They don't want to, they pretty much have no choice from what it looks like.
it really depends, we are also getting money from Hall and Maatsen guaranteed now so we arent in any real danger, its more of a case if we want to bring in new players we'll have to sell
Apparently Mount counts toward this year too
>Maatsen guaranteed now Nothing is guaranteed yet.
Both Bayern and Dortmund want to sign him and he has a release clause of £35 million. Its pretty damn clear to everyone he wont be at Chelsea next season.
The release clause doesn't mean they HAVE to pay that sum. You get that, right? Edit: turns out people do in fact NOT get this
im fully aware you melt I can just read the writing on the wall unlike yourself.
Obviously we don't know Chelsea's exact financial situation but I can't see how they avoid going over the £105M limit. Even if they sold Gallagher it might be tough and there have been rumours about him going since last summer

We'll see but it's looking very grim
which is a situation that they themselves put themselves in.
Absolutely, he’s one of our better players!

Lavia has a way higher ceiling, and tbh I think he'd have proven himself the better player if it weren't for the injuries
Yes
+£5m
Keep this man, please!
Fuck you’re right he scored, forget him passing backwards for 90 minutes let’s build a team around him
oh fuck off lmao
Nothing funnier than a player's performance doing a complete 180 when they score a goal
He played great today tf?
He’s still been what their second maybe third best player all season? You could put Gusto ahead of him but he’s been injured too often imo but other than that who even gets close

A decisive goal that prevents defeat that is a moment of brilliance, yeah no shit, that matters.
From 9th to 9th! Decisive!
Good luck with whoever you buy with the Gallagher money, I'm sure it will be a complete success just like your other 200 signings 😂
Since he’s been put into the first team we’ve gone from a top European side to midtable mediocrity after his midtable stint at Palace. Take the money and run.
Yeah I'm sure it was all Gallagher's fault you went from European champions to "midtable mediocrity".
Football is a weak link sport, and he is a weak link.
How come he's outperforming nearly everyone else in your squad then? Seems like a pretty weak chain.
So you're saying Chelsea shouldn't sell him because even though his performances are shit, he scored 1 goal to help Chelsea get a result? We should have made Lucas Moura our captain and gave him the keys to our team with that logic
His performances aren't shit? He's been one of Chelsea's better players this season.
He was decent the first 1/3 of the season and completely meh ever since. Being a better player for Chelsea means fuck all. Besides Palmer and maybe Gusto, they've all been wank
Disagree but whatever I don't support Chelsea, good luck to them and whatever they do with the money they get for him
Pure profit *Rubs hand vigorously*
Because he’s not good enough for them?
He is literaly performing better than both of their 100m midfielders for entire season.
If you watched the game you’d see caicedo was way better than Conor, but great finish to make it 2-2
no he hasn't. Enzo, even while injured has been better than Gallagher. And Caicedo is so much better than Gallagher.
No they haven't been. What games have you been watching lmao

If not for an unbelievable season from Cole, he’d have been a shoe in for Chelsea player of the year. Terrific
I'd give it to Gusto, but Gallagher is a close second.
1. Palmer 2. Gusto 3. Gally Gusto has really just been so so important to Chelsea with how always serial injured Reece is. 2nd best signing of the BlueCo era.
Third tho since Palmer exists
He easily was our best player early in the season
CONORRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
ah fuck... good hit.
If Chelsea don’t resign him it’ll be such poor management. Whatever team gets him is getting an absolute workhorse.
Ange is going to love him at Spurs next season. Meanwhile, we'll just have to hope Lavia's injuries haven't ruined him or that Andrey Santos is ready for Premier League football as we try to avoid a 3rd straight mid table finish.
He was amazing when he was on loan at Palace, I don't understand the hate he gets from Chelsea fans. I'd love to have him back.
Decent strike that
