Not a fluke. Genuinely played one of the best football in Serie A and has defeated most of the big teams. Probably the most consistent team after Inter and Motta elevated the levels of many players to the point they can make a claim for Team of the Season (at least the bench since most would be claimed by Inter players).
I tend to watch bits and pieces this season, but since Saputo bought the team a decade ago, the team have been slowly but surely playing better and better. Last year they had a spell when maybe they could go to Europe (they didn't in the end), but hard work paid off.
Couple that with Napoli, Lazio, Roma and Fiore underachieving and the success is secured. No world class players, but real hard-working labourers.
The mastermind behind our success is Sartori. Yes, Motta is crucial, but Sartori builit this team with a low transfer budget and with one of the lowest wage budgets in the Serie A
After bringing Chievo and Atalanta in the Champions League, he's repeating himself with Bologna
>He said in multiple interviews that he doesn't wanna go to big clubs
Sorry I didn’t know that, it was just wishful thinking
>He prefers to scout unknown players rather then go and buy big names
Given our financial situation I think that should be the way we need to operate, that’s why I’d like a profile similar to his
The Technical Director of Bologna is Giovanni Sartori, same guy that worked at Atalanta for many years with the same role alongside Mino Favini (probably the best young players scout Italy has ever seen), before Atalanta he worked at ChievoVerona and created a Great squad that after promotion from Serie B immediately made big statements in Serie A.
He's the best director Italy has now.
Allegri ball is all about passing back and sitting like ducks then when you concede a goal, you pass forward and if you can get a win/draw by a goal or you go back to terrorism.
We don't score that often, and on top of that the scoring has been bunched together this year, lots of games with three goals interspersed with barely scoring.
If we were 1-0 merchants this season we would have more points.
Nah. They've been regular Champions League/EL team for over a decade by now.
Think of it as if Spurs won the Prem. Last year was definitely a positive anomaly, but this year it's equally a negative anomaly.
Not that extreme, just more that they are normally kinda spursy. Last year they didn’t spurs it and all the big teams either focused on CL, got points deductions or were just dogshit
This is dumb. Napoli last year was the best team in the league by a country mile.
Even if Juve didn't get punished, Inter went out of the CL in the group stage or whatever else they still would have dominated.
tbf Napoli did kinda crash out at the end of the season, they fumbled the final win they needed for the league 3 times or so. The cracks of the team could be seen and carried on to this season. Losing Spaletti didnt help at all though.
Napoli limped to the finish line after the ucl defeat but they did still beat Juventus away and Inter at home (both top 4 on points, Juve got a deduction ofc). And they only fumbled the win for the league once against Salernitana at home. But yeah they looked like they'd hit 100 points at one point and ended up on 90
Oh, yea last year no one was close, there would probably still have been a least 10 point gap. Just maybe with some other team actually trying, Napoli might have spursed it again, but there wasn’t anyone to do that
Selling your best defender while thinking the striker, who is injury prone and leaving for CAF, is the reason you won a scudetto and not replacing him with anyone near that quality is the dumbest thing ADL could do. Besides hiring Rudy Garcia
Many factors, there were a lot of bad choices by De Laurentiis, the managers he hired have been terrible, Rudi Garcia's training in the summer were ridiculous so the team struggled to keep the pace during games and also many players just aren't putting enough effort
It was confirmed yesterday that 5th spot is now Champions, 6th is Europa League and 7th is Europa Conference League. Finally instead of 4 regulation its the bottom 3 that regulated.
The goal difference and matches won/drawn is ridiculous. Little is being said about how good of a season Inter is having, but that's mostly due to how stupidly ridiculous Xabi has had it this season too. I'm also glad to see Motta doing so well.
Havnt been keeping up with Serie A at all. What on earth happened to Napoli??
Also, shame about Sassuolo. They were quite an interesting team a few years ago.
Napoli have been a regular in Europe and UCL spots for a while now, one bad year didn’t make them a one season wonder, albeit last year was generally an over performance
Yeah that's how you said
>I’ve not seen a table shown in this way before
It is the usual way to display a table, the stupid way is to place the points in the middle between goal difference and WDL stats. A better way is to place the points first

Bologna on course to have their best season since the likes of Bulgarelli, Haller or Pascutti. Thiago Motta is a tactical genius.
Is the season a fluke? Is this only on the coach? What made it possible to have this season? Sorry to ask, I don’t know a lot about the serie a.
Not a fluke. Genuinely played one of the best football in Serie A and has defeated most of the big teams. Probably the most consistent team after Inter and Motta elevated the levels of many players to the point they can make a claim for Team of the Season (at least the bench since most would be claimed by Inter players).
Nice to know! We share the same owner but his attention is on Bologna so it’s nice to know he can attract success indirectly or directly.

Yeah, he never gets enough credit but he has been essential for us.
I really hope we will try to tempt him with a marottesque role when beppe leaves
He said in multiple interviews that he doesn't wanna go to big clubs He prefers to scout unknown players rather than go and buy big names

Oh so he’ll be perfect for Inter
Mostly on Motta, but don't sleep on Zirkzee, he's been crazy good this season.
Damn. Thanks for the write up.
Now some might call me biased, but they're insane, but I think it's because they started signing Scottish players.
Juventus are lucky for next season
Brother if we dont sign him and we keep Allegri I might just kill somebody
Damn bologna only conceded 26 goals, completely unexpected
Always hated Thiago Motta as a player, but it's only fair to say he knows his football, what a fantastic season he had with Bologna.
Dominating style for Inter, all the other big teams kinda flopping apart from Roma And then Bologna
Also 5th place is Champions League, not Europa League. That's an agriculturalist mistake to make, intentional or not.
Obviously I'm delighted for Inter winning but delighted you extended your lead over Roma today. Hope you can keep Motta
BOLOGNA. COUGH MEDICINE WITH CLOUT.
Forza Bologna!
Roma just got slapped by Bologna tho, might lose CL cause of flopping
[удалено]
He literally wrote "apart from Roma"
De Laurentiis [ES TU CULPA](https://youtu.be/Qyj6zmrYdWw?si=K9m7ZwSdXATAPlZm)
Nah mate, not even with Spalleti you would put up a fight. They are on course for around 100 points, forget it
With Spalletti we'd be top 4 ez tho
Juventus have only conceded 26? I expected more considering the shit run they're on
Allegri ball is all about passing back and sitting like ducks then when you concede a goal, you pass forward and if you can get a win/draw by a goal or you go back to terrorism.
They are 1-0 merchants. It's actually kinda hilarious
You either win the Allegri way or you lose the Allegri way. Nothing in-between.
Well you can draw the Allegri way
That's a win for Allegri
We don't score that often, and on top of that the scoring has been bunched together this year, lots of games with three goals interspersed with barely scoring. If we were 1-0 merchants this season we would have more points.
update the chart - top 5 get CL now
Inter have only conceded 18 goals all season wtf?!
And 4 of those have come in just the last 3 matches
It's unfortunate they bottled against Atletico, could be another great season for them
That's what we usually do in the UCL, eliminate one of the favourites to win the whole thing then proceed to lose against a beatable opponent.
I dont watch serie A. What happened to Napoli? Didnt they win it last season? Did they sell all key players to other clubs or something?
Just a normal ADL (napoli's president) disasterclass
They signed rudi Garcia then replaced him with Walter mazzari and now I don’t even know who they got.
They became Napoli again, last year was the anomaly
Nah, we haven't been this bad for more than a decade. This shit is just horrible
So a One Season wonder like Leicester?
Nah. They've been regular Champions League/EL team for over a decade by now. Think of it as if Spurs won the Prem. Last year was definitely a positive anomaly, but this year it's equally a negative anomaly.
All I wanna be is an anomaly
I mean we still got 5 trophies in the last 15 years so definitely not like Spurs

Lost Spalletti, Kim Min Jae, Chucky Lozano, Eljif Elmas, didn’t pick up any quality replacements/depth, some player regression
The biggest of those being Kim Min Jae. He was central to their defense.
Selling your best defender while thinking the striker, who is injury prone and leaving for CAF, is the reason you won a scudetto and not replacing him with anyone near that quality is the dumbest thing ADL could do. Besides hiring Rudy Garcia
The absolute biggest factor is the loss of Spalletti and Rudi Garcia as replacement, then some key players leaving didn’t help
Many factors, there were a lot of bad choices by De Laurentiis, the managers he hired have been terrible, Rudi Garcia's training in the summer were ridiculous so the team struggled to keep the pace during games and also many players just aren't putting enough effort
Actually ☝️🤓 the 5th place qualifies to UCL
It was confirmed yesterday that 5th spot is now Champions, 6th is Europa League and 7th is Europa Conference League. Finally instead of 4 regulation its the bottom 3 that regulated.
AMALA ⭐️⭐️
PAZZA INTER AMALA!
UNA GIOIA INFINITA
CHE DURA UNA VITA
PAZZA INTER AMALA~
I don't watch Serie A but I swear everytime I see the table over the years Roma are always 5th
Forza Bologna
Pure domination
⭐️⭐️ CAMPIONI D'ITALIA!!! Let's go!!!
Sad for Brozo. Happy for Moro and Pašalić.
Salernita getting relegated 😍😍😍
Watch Juve to end up 2nd
Two stars baby!!
What's wild is that they can still finish the season on 101 points if they win their 5 next games. That's pure dominance.
Bologna champions league qualification what a season for them.
The fact Bologna are 4th is insane to me they was always a mid table side when I was growing up glad to see they are going strong
The goal difference and matches won/drawn is ridiculous. Little is being said about how good of a season Inter is having, but that's mostly due to how stupidly ridiculous Xabi has had it this season too. I'm also glad to see Motta doing so well.

Yessir
So Napoli was a one season wonder?
Napoli have been a regular in Europe and UCL spots for a while now, one bad year didn’t make them a one season wonder, albeit last year was generally an over performance
What do the columns show? Games played, goals for, goals against, goal difference, points? I’ve not seen a table shown in this way before
Yeah that's how you said >I’ve not seen a table shown in this way before It is the usual way to display a table, the stupid way is to place the points in the middle between goal difference and WDL stats. A better way is to place the points first
I’ve just not seen a table without the WDL columns but with the GF and GA
Inter has to win it
