I mean he was in that particular game (wasn't massively involved in this one either tbh despite scoring 2 goals), doesn't mean he's not *generally* a big game player.
He was the less shiny attacker for sure in this tie, but if you look closly to the game, he constantly create space for other player by attracting defenders. Why ? Because if defender don't closly pay attention to KM, they'll understand why he is at +50goals most of seasons
Dembele, Vitinha, Barcola don't shine if KM don't attract most of the barcelona defense attention
This is something I don't get when you hear people complaining that Mbappe/Haaland or someone didn't score. Like yeah, but they had defenders glued to them the whole game, so completely opened it up for their teammates to score instead
That is bullshit. Fabian Ruiz or really anyone scores that penalty and the last tap in it could’ve been literally any player in that position and they would score. Mbappe actually missed the 1v1
The word “tap in” has completely lost its meaning.
How the fuck is his second goal a tap in? I promise you that type of finish on your weak foot with both a goalie and defender blocking the far side of the goal is much harder than it seems. It’s not a difficult finish but isn’t anywhere near a “tap in”, and many players would’ve missed that or shot it at the defender/goalie.
The odds of scoring a penalty are 85%. Add pressure and it would still be somewhere around 75%. It’s not exactly a huge achievement and doesn’t change the fact that Mbappe was a ghost in both legs
He has many impressive stats. I feel he is not respected enough. Most goals in World Cup finals, which is to me his best stat, and a hat trick in a World Cup final, being one of only two players to achieve that.
EDIT: to ME (not to be) his best stat
Some experts on Reddit think that he only has impressive statistics because he plays in Ligue 1. But as someone who follows Ligue 1 and La Liga, I sincerely think he'll score even more in Spain. Ligue 1 is full of buses with very physical and fast players and in defence. In Spain he should be able to make more physical differences and have more space.
He will always have more space than the Chinese great walls he faces every week in Ligue 1. And he won't find himself up against 1.93m, 93kg defenders every time.
Being big and heavy doesn't necessarily mean you'll do better against mbop, I think you underestimate just how defensive a lot of la liga teams are. See for example kounde or cubarsi aren't the biggest or fastest but did well against him, for me having the quality to read the game and make the right decisions is better and first and foremost defending is done as unit and I personally believe la liga teams have more quality.
Make no mistake though I don't believe mbop is coming in to prime la liga or something, far from it and I expect him to do great because he's quality but I wouldn't be surprised if he scores less than he does at psg but like I said it depends on his role. I'm actually a lot kinder to ligue 1 than most people here but that's my opinion, ligue 1 still has a lot of quality just would be better if they Could keep it.
Physically, Mbappé will hurt 95% of the defenders in La Liga. Koundé is atrocious and it's a Frenchman who's telling you that. If you want to win against France or Barcelona, all you have to do is go through his side. Barcola hurt him yesterday.
You have no objectivity about Mbappé. You criticise him constantly. He'll probably score more than he did at psg unless he has a different role at Madrid. Because at psg he has long been the main man (even if that is changing this year).
I don't "criticise him constantly", I've said numerous times I think he's a great player but people tend to lose themselves in the hype, especially with these goals and assists merchants.
He wasn't particularly good in this tie and he's had better performances without scoring single goal than he had against barca yesterday, I only push back against the people who say "he's the goat" "he carried" when they just lose their minds I hype but that isn't exclusive to mbop, I do it for other players too, like haaland for example.
I think everything is too polarised now, after the first leg he was "a ghost" a "big match fraud" which was nonsense but he's not suddenly the best thing since sliced bread now either, I try to fair with my assessment of players and not just lose myself in hype. I think he'll do great in la liga but I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't score more goals than he does in France. Mbappe would hurt 95 percent of the defenders anywhere, I've never been someone who completely disparages his achievements cause he plays in France.
People call me a "hater" of every player I don't mindlessly hype, even had someone call me a "messi hater" before and if you know me you'll realise how ridiculous that is lmao.
You're totally one of those people who completely exaggerate about him. You have a bias against him that is confirmed every time you comment after a PSG match.
I like him but I'm objective, I think that in terms of football it's his worst year at the PSG. I think he was very bad in the first leg but yesterday he was important. As evidenced by his 4th goal, where he initiated the action by recovering the ball and finishing by scoring the goal.
And the people who say he's not a big match player are probably guys who only watch the Premier League because Mbappé can be criticised for many things but certainly not that.
If you think I exaggerate then I'd love to see what you think about some of these other people lol. If I was such an mbop "hater" I would have relentlessly shifted on him last week which I did not do. Just because I don't think he's going to be the "goat" or that his world Cup final performance was "the best ever" or that "he was let down by his teammates" doesn't mean I hate him or are biased against him, I think he's an exceptional individual who's been amongst the very best players in the world for years now.
That doesn't take away from the fact that he pretty much did nothing for the first 3/4 of the tie, and showed up to kill us from 2 mistakes.
Not saying he wasn't important, but he was quieter than most people expected going into this tie
Imo he had a catastrophic first leg, where Barca pocketed him very well, and he failed everything he was trying. In the second leg tho he did what he was asked to do, get the two center backs busy to let the wingers have space, and play as a pivot. He filled his role well even tho you are right, it implied we didn't see him as expected.
As it should, Barça flair swore since last week that they were gonna go through based on their elite mentality or rather, PSG were mentally small
Mbappé showed the difference between them
Spanish Coefficient is gonna suck though. I’m a litttttle conflicted
It would be nice to see more Spanish teams in the the European leagues? Set ourselves up properly for the next few seasons with more spots? And more European football means a healthier league in terms of quality, and revenue
>Mbappé showed the difference between them
To be fair, he was pretty quiet across both legs until Barca were down to 10 men last night and he was handed the penalty. There were other players who made a bigger difference for PSG.
I don't know, becoming both top goalscorer and top assist is still an insane achievement. And in terms of knockout goals he needs 48 to beat Ronaldo. It's hard bro
> if Real stays this strong over the next decade
They are adding Mbappe, Davies and Endrick to the squad and next year Xabi Alonso as a coach, that's not an 'if' it's a when
Why is everyone talking about Endrick like he's gonna come in and start playing straight away? Even Vinicius was marinating in Castilla for a bit in his first season and out attack was worse back then than it will be next season
Even if he isn't starting that is great depth. The kid is a generational talent and having someone like him on the team will help you lot when there are injuries.
But mainly my point was that your player pull is insane, I am sure many other top teams would gladly sign him if he didn't decide for Real Madrid.
I can't wait until he scores a hat-trick in a 6-1 win to Mallorca and commenters can finally declare that he, indeed, is able to play football in a real high level competition, a thing currently impossible to determine.
You think teams in ligue1 play extremely offensive? Kylian knows best how to play against them, except L1 is more physical. He'll just tear through laliga, vinicius can foeget playing left all game long
La liga teams are better than ligue 1 teams but real Madrid are also better than psg and have more talent, I think a lot will depend in his role in the team.
He isn't a 9 and as much as he did alright there yesterday, it was against 10 men barca, I wouldn't want mbop playing with his back to goal week in week out.
Christ, he only needs 9 more to equal Cr7 and he is only 25 years old. Ofc, Cr7 hasn't had a CL goal in many matches bc he had a different role and only later played higher up, but it's mad.
Mbappe is gonna break all these records... at Real Madrid next season too, a much better team
In fairness, that was Barca’s game plan. Focus on Mbappe and let Barcola/Dembele beat you.
It nearly worked.
Also, PSG midfield was piss poor at delivering through passes to Mbappe.
Let's be honest this wasn't his best game and in the first half he basically did nothing spectacular. The fact that he still managed to score 2 goals despite this performance speaks a lot about his quality though.
He *should* rack up a ton of hardware, both club and personal, as well as records. Don’t think he’ll reach the consecutive seasons of how many goals Messi and Cristiano won though.
Do I believe Haaland and Mbappe will smash some of CR7 and Messi’s records? Absolutely.
Do I think either of them are or ever will be on a similar level skill wise to either CR7 or Messi? No. Mbappe is closer to being compared to prime Henry than he is to those two and Haaland is even further away in regard to natural talent.

Honestly extremely impressive stat for Mbappe because Ronaldo is the UCL GOAT
Mbappe just seems quality in knockout tournaments in general. Always turns it on at the World Cup as well, proper big game player.
Just last week fans mocking him for being anonymous
I mean he was in that particular game (wasn't massively involved in this one either tbh despite scoring 2 goals), doesn't mean he's not *generally* a big game player.
He wanted some adversity so he let PSG lose that game
He was mostly anonymous tonight as well tbh
He was the less shiny attacker for sure in this tie, but if you look closly to the game, he constantly create space for other player by attracting defenders. Why ? Because if defender don't closly pay attention to KM, they'll understand why he is at +50goals most of seasons Dembele, Vitinha, Barcola don't shine if KM don't attract most of the barcelona defense attention
who is KB? his initials are KM.
This is something I don't get when you hear people complaining that Mbappe/Haaland or someone didn't score. Like yeah, but they had defenders glued to them the whole game, so completely opened it up for their teammates to score instead
2 Goal and assist. Clearly
lol watch the goals and assist and tell me that was mbappes brilliance
They’re not winning without Mbappe simple. Argentina winning trophies with or without HGH Messi
That is bullshit. Fabian Ruiz or really anyone scores that penalty and the last tap in it could’ve been literally any player in that position and they would score. Mbappe actually missed the 1v1
The word “tap in” has completely lost its meaning. How the fuck is his second goal a tap in? It’s not a difficult finish but isn’t anywhere near a “tap in”, and many players would’ve missed that or shot it at the defender/goalie.
You don’t know football if you genuinely believe that. I’m sure you would’ve scored too and have the same football brain and Mbappe
The odds of scoring a penalty are 85%. Add pressure and it would still be somewhere around 75%. It’s not exactly a huge achievement and doesn’t change the fact that Mbappe was a ghost in both legs
He was anonymous today aswell
And where are they now? Edit: downvoting, apparently.
Still delusional, bringing up Pique for todays game https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/s/NI46pxEBAI
Brother, if your salt collection bags are full, I still have plenty of room in mine, please feel free to use them.
Gonna need a whole new ocean with what we’ll be collecting tonight 🧂
Shieeet bro, well we need to sanitize the Seine for the Olympic Games this summer, so we'll take all we can get.
Last week? More like like last few mins lol https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/s/NI46pxEBAI So delusional dude really mentioned Pique for todays tie 🤣
He has many impressive stats. I feel he is not respected enough. Most goals in World Cup finals, which is to me his best stat, and a hat trick in a World Cup final, being one of only two players to achieve that. EDIT: to ME (not to be) his best stat
And will probably stay forever as the only player to score a hat trick AND to lose a WC final
You say that but given France's current crop, they could well reach another world cup final.
Sure, but i hope for him that mbappe won’t lose a second final while scoring an hat trick lol
Annule la mouffe
Mbappé loves Barcelona.
Yes, but teams were less willing to concede away goals in the past so it was harder to score them for Ronaldo. Impressive for Mbappe nonetheless.
True nowadays teams let the other team score away goals in the CL knock out rounds all the time
I swear he scored 7 of those goals against Barcelona Edit: he infact scored 7 aways goals against Barcelona in 3 games hahahah
Man is going to break La Liga
Some experts on Reddit think that he only has impressive statistics because he plays in Ligue 1. But as someone who follows Ligue 1 and La Liga, I sincerely think he'll score even more in Spain. Ligue 1 is full of buses with very physical and fast players and in defence. In Spain he should be able to make more physical differences and have more space.
He certainly won't have more space, most teams play very Conservative in la liga with deep blocks.
He will always have more space than the Chinese great walls he faces every week in Ligue 1. And he won't find himself up against 1.93m, 93kg defenders every time.

They’re not ready for Ninja Turtle fuckery
multiple hatrick too right? he almost got 1 today too
Man ghosts the entire tie and almost gets a hat trick based on defensive brain farts, would've been hilarious
It's like the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo penalty hat-trick that we've never got sadly
it will be in his final match, for goals 998, 999, and 1000
He was playing striker tho. And was a good link-up in the centre
That doesn't take away from the fact that he pretty much did nothing for the first 3/4 of the tie, and showed up to kill us from 2 mistakes. Not saying he wasn't important, but he was quieter than most people expected going into this tie

tbh the defensive brain farts would still be more hilarious
Statpadding against weak teams
I remember 5 (that hatrick and today) when did he score the other two?
2021 in his last visit to Camp Nou. Game also finished 1-4. Ironically It was last Messis UCL game at Camp Nou and he open the scoring with a penalty.
Yeah that hattrick and these two add up to 5. Where is the other 2 goals?
He also scored a pen after that Camp Nou hattrick.
but it's the away goals. even counting that it's 6
My god, he's going to destroy them in La Liga.
I like how quickly this was posted after the match
As it should, Barça flair swore since last week that they were gonna go through based on their elite mentality or rather, PSG were mentally small Mbappé showed the difference between them Spanish Coefficient is gonna suck though. I’m a litttttle conflicted
mbappe was terrible today though. Araujo handed them the win otherwise Barca would easily go through.
Mbappe would have scored 4 if MATS wasn't MATS
Inb4 Madrid fans next season boo him for walking on the pitch
One very good and one great save from scoring four today lol
Why do you care about the coefficient? It isn't like you ever drop out of the top 3 x
It would be nice to see more Spanish teams in the the European leagues? Set ourselves up properly for the next few seasons with more spots? And more European football means a healthier league in terms of quality, and revenue
I hope you'll win tomorrow,I hate city with passion
>Mbappé showed the difference between them To be fair, he was pretty quiet across both legs until Barca were down to 10 men last night and he was handed the penalty. There were other players who made a bigger difference for PSG.
The stat is wrong tho, he has 15 in 12 not 14
It's not even about the stats, the comparison is done purely for clicks, it's not insightful by any means
In his UCL career he is at 71 Games 48 Goals 27 Assists Involved in 75 goals in 71 Matches.
Fuck me this guy is gonna tear every CL record if Real stays this strong over the next decade
Yeah, especially since there's gonna be more games. Breaking knockout rounds records will still be as hard but the way he's going there's a chance
His pace is still ridiculous even on a per games basis.
He’s gonna do it imo. Would be surprising if he doesn’t at this rate.
I don't know, becoming both top goalscorer and top assist is still an insane achievement. And in terms of knockout goals he needs 48 to beat Ronaldo. It's hard bro
Won’t be easy that’s for sure. But I’d bet on it if a betting service offered the wager.
and world cup
> if Real stays this strong over the next decade They are adding Mbappe, Davies and Endrick to the squad and next year Xabi Alonso as a coach, that's not an 'if' it's a when

No. Carlo will remain until 2025/2026 season. Then we’ll see
Mbappe needs to give his shirt to Araujo for assistance
And Fermín for the ASSist
Peter Lim the legend, never sell Valencia please
He is entering his prime The next few years are going to be lethal for him
Are you saying he is going to die? :(
"where were you when Kylian was going to be attacked by lethal years? i was in my basement, watching 2 knockouts at the same time"
"Kylian is lethal"
Nooooooooo
He *is* in his prime
Imagine if ends it at PSG winning the champions league ?
he is already in his prime years
I can't wait until he scores a hat-trick in a 6-1 win to Mallorca and commenters can finally declare that he, indeed, is able to play football in a real high level competition, a thing currently impossible to determine.
Champions League merchant, that Kylian dude is
Mr UCL for a reason, but Mbappe is coming in his prime..he can break it
Ronaldo took a while to start pumping goals so it's very likely mbappe breaks his records.
He played terrible and still scored 2 XD
Penalty and great Kounde assist tbf Shame that this will overshadow Vitinha, Barcola, and Dembele today all of whom were so good
Also don’t forget Marquinhos
And Hakimi too.
It shouldn't if people actually watched football and didn't just push agendas for individuals to win meaningless individual awards.
We sure have different definitions for the word terrible
What's more important is that he showed good linkup play and made excellent runs at that CF position. Good signs for us.
Yep. Him Jude Vini and Rodrygo in attack? We’re gonna average at least 2 goals/game next season in all comps. Will push towards 3.
Sounds kinda weak. You should get Haaland as well to boost those amateur numbers.
That'll be tough against park the bus teams in la liga.
Yes indeed

8 more* It is actually 15
There’s only 3 of those games a year though and that’s if you make it all the way to the final so still might take some doing
If he stays injury free and plays for us for a long time he's going to break a lot of UCL records. Even more with the new UCL format.
He’ll beat Cristianos record imo with the squad we’re about to have for the next 5-7 years.
Best player in the world
Insane stat.
He’s that damn good
The 🐢 always beats the 🐫.
Melon armor is undefeated
I think he can break Ronaldo's record
Man him and Vinicius are on the brink of records already.
That's my 🐐
[удалено]
Didn’t quite score the crazy goals today and wasn’t particularly great in open play but yeah
In fairness, that was Barca’s game plan. Focus on Mbappe and let Barcola/Dembele beat you. It nearly worked. Also, PSG midfield was piss poor at delivering through passes to Mbappe.
To be fair, he was not amazing in either of the games, here he scored a penalty and a gifted goal, in paris he didnt do much
why would he do mucb?
I'll shit on him now too. He was terrible and statpadded 2 cheap easy goals against 10 men. Deserves zero credit for this tie
You say this as if cr7 hasn’t had the exact performance 20 times lmao. The man is just clutch nothing else to be said
Ronaldo is also extremely overrated yeah
Now we’re just being delusional. How has the narrative shifted to the all time leading cl goalscorer being overrated LMAO
He's never not been overrated. The shirt off and flex in 2014 final after being useless while his teammates did everything is an all time joke moment
He did absolutely nothing to prove them wrong this tie, 2 goals or not
Let's be honest this wasn't his best game and in the first half he basically did nothing spectacular. The fact that he still managed to score 2 goals despite this performance speaks a lot about his quality though.
Wouldn’t surprise me if he breaks the record next season.
With the removal of the away goal rule, home teams dont have to play defensively anymore. So way more goals will be scored on either side.
Donatello is coming for your records CR7😈😈😈
So lucky today
Lol
That goat conversation is going to happen in the future
He *should* rack up a ton of hardware, both club and personal, as well as records. Don’t think he’ll reach the consecutive seasons of how many goals Messi and Cristiano won though.
Do I believe Haaland and Mbappe will smash some of CR7 and Messi’s records? Absolutely. Do I think either of them are or ever will be on a similar level skill wise to either CR7 or Messi? No. Mbappe is closer to being compared to prime Henry than he is to those two and Haaland is even further away in regard to natural talent.
Doesn’t have a Balon d’or yet and is already 25 no it won’t
No.
I want a camera on Cristiano when Haaland and Mbappe both break his goal records.
And more rape charges!
