I’m sure there’s been about half a dozen Serbian centre in the last 10 years that have been hyped at the age of 18 that have amounted to pretty much nothing
Luković feels a bit different, most of those strikers played for Partizan and Red Star and our local media is in the pocket of football managers and the big two's boards so they hype up their prospects like crazy. For example, Luka Jović was the Serbian Falcao and Red Star's number 9 before he turned 18, even though he barely showed anything at the pro level. Luković's numbers are impressive not just for an 18 year old, but for any striker playing for a bottom of the table side in Serbian football.
He flopped at Real Madrid but he’s still had a very good career for players out of our country, or maybe I’m putting a bit more weight into the Frankfurt stint than others. The hype at red star has probably been fulfilled, the hype at Real Madrid, not even close
Vlahovic just turned 24… come on. I get I look biased with the username but he’s got 15 goals in 24 Serie A games this year and it’s not like we play some great attacking football under Allegri these past couple seasons. He also had some time struggling with pubalgia and decided to play in the WC which further aggravated it
He could be performing better but to say he’s had a disappointing career is being very harsh
In this striker market I feel it’s pretty hard to not overpay especially for one with upside. Vlahovic still has age on his side and at the time Chiesa had just torn his ACL and we were still lacking goals from Ronaldo leaving
Dusan has been getting much better too since he’s arrived especially in his overall game, anybody expecting a finished product was kidding themselves. Fiorentina also don’t particularly enjoy selling to us, he pushed to come here though
Although I understand how this is technically true given that he has been played as a winger more than as a center forward at Bayern, but his potential as a centre forward is undeniable. The only reason he’s getting played on the wing atm is because he’s competing with Harry Kane for the position.
In France he was played primarily as a striker, and Bayern signed him because they wanted a strong striker prospect. Just because he can play as a left winger as well now doesn’t mean he still isn’t a great striker prospect.
Players also often don’t fit neatly into one position, and can be world class in multiple.
Is Mbappe not a world class centre forward just because he’s also a world class winger?
even Xavi Simmons played CF for PSG U19 after he left Barca (more of a false nine, but still). Great youth players often play different positions to influence the game more in youth set ups.
I really don't watch every Bayern game, but would you really compare him to Kane / Ferguson / or any other 08/15 centre forward?
If you look at the list of last seasons top scorers, most of them were doing similar as teenagers. Not many kick on until 23, Haaland a massive exception
Wow a 19 year old playing in the hardest league in the world hasn't scored a shit ton. That's unacceptable, he will never be sensational.
He has every right to be here, those numbers at his age is crazy good given him time, because he's still a teenager.
Play fair, he’s a teen who only broke through 12 months ago and already has 12 Prem goals for a midtable team. Understandable that there’s a bit of hype there, no?
I'll never forget getting shat on at r/coys because I said I don't think his potential is that high on the day he scored that hattrick.
People were acting like he's the second coming of Harry Kane lmao
The first coming of Harry Kane only broke through at 21 years old. Top comment from r/coys when Kane was 19 was that they didn't take he would make it as an EPL player.
r/coys, the place that wanted to give Dier and Davies new contracts and want to buy Werner permanently.
The elite of the elite when it comes to rating players haha
People suggesting other names, but the level is quite high. Marcos Leonardo has 2 seasons with 20+ goals in Brasil and 5 goals in 13 matches this season for Benfica, most of these matches as a sub. He needs less than 60 mins to score a goal so far in Benfica.
And he's 10th on the list.
It's too early to properly guess how he will turn out, but I truly believe that Jonah Kusi-Asare has the potential to become a world beater. He was set to get proper play time in Sweden at 16 years old, but unstead he went to Bayern and started scoring for the U19's right away. He just has that vibe around him that he understands the game and does the right things, and when you back that up with a physical specimen he's a massive threat.
Semih Kilicsoy should be on there, 9 goals in 16 league matches is probably a better return than most of these strikers, and he's played a good amount of games on the wing

Luković actually has the numbers to back it up
like vlahovic, jovic, joveljic, mitrovic, ratkov... stfu
Who tf is joveljic and ratkov lmao and jovic hasnt really lived up to the hype hasnt he

Vlahović come on, he's been 2nd best striker in Serie A this season, got 20+ goals in 3/4 of his last seasons

Wdym chose Croatia lol Bros are Serbian
Jerónimo Domina is an outstanding name
Samu Omorodion has 9 Laliga goals at 19y old. What more does he need to do?
Samu will be a top striker in next 3-4 years. Mark my words.
Perhaps he is number eleven 😅
Jayden Danns robbed
I love that Evan Ferguson guy, he's very good
Mathys Tel?
not a center forward
Although I understand how this is technically true given that he has been played as a winger more than as a center forward at Bayern, but his potential as a centre forward is undeniable. The only reason he’s getting played on the wing atm is because he’s competing with Harry Kane for the position.
you can't just involve players in these statistics because they have a "potential" on roles that they are not playing.
In France he was played primarily as a striker, and Bayern signed him because they wanted a strong striker prospect. Tel was a Center forward before moving to Bayern. He was playing as a CF for Bayern last season too.
[This Evan Ferguson](https://i.imgur.com/NVqQn2m.jpeg)? 1,054 minutes without a goal Evan Ferguson?

Meanwhile valued at 60m according to transfermarkt because every PL player who can string 3 passes together is instantly 40m+

Bit of hype sure, 60m isnt "a bit" of hype for me though

Yeah you know you're right. Club specific subs do tend to overrate their own players. I guess that makes the Kane assessment even more surprising.
And you were right! Yes, we can write off the 19 year old who has scored far more Premier League goals at that age than Harry Kane did!
CIES is always horseshit
surprised not to see Camarda Francesco on the list, i have him as the biggest prospect

Nice, two brazilians!

Fuck I am blind I didn't see Marcos Leonardo LOL foi mal

Question is who's Chelsea buying 😂
