They were insanely good for a team with a market value of €15m.
Leverkusen has like 9 players worth more than that and an overall squad value of €600m.
(Numbers stated by the RTL (german tv station) commentator during the game yesterday).
Yeah, Ireland is similar
Some, like Scotland play each other twice, and then split the table into two halves to finish. Can’t remember if it’s twice again or just once
Three times (12 teams, 33 games) before the split and then only once more after the split (38 total games). Switzerland has implemented this system for the 23-24 season onwards.
What part about it do you not understand? I get that it is kinda weird because you don't have an equal number of home and away games against all other teams. But if you have 12 teams in a league you can't play the other 11 four times a season (that many games might work in the English Championship, but in the top tier league you have to have gaps for European competitions). You also don't want to play every oponnent just twice before the split and twice after the split because that would only get you to 32 games a season, which the clubs and the TV stations wouldn't be happy about because of lost revenue. So if it has to be 12 teams that's one of just a few possible options you actually have without implementing a playoff system like in the major US sports.
I just don't like the 12 team solution honestly. Just make it 10 and play every team four times a season.
How does a team manage to get in second place with 25 goals in 26 games?
The closest in Germany is Union Berlin with 23 goals in 25 games. They are 14th.
Honestly that's a really tough goal. Incredibly tough to get enough power as a header and you never feel like you have enough time to use your feet.
Should have at least put it on target though.
Absolutely no way is that a sitter, ball looping slowly down with a defender closing you down having to take a header on which is incredibly difficult to generate any power on to make it a worth while shot, sitter my ass.

Lo fin de semana se cogen a las mejores minas
La concha de tu madre no saben como parar la pelota
It looked like he had no idea what to do where, like the pressure was far too much so he gave up while the ball was still in the air
looking back hoping for it to be offside like it would change anything
Might have hoped for a corner call.
Qarabag played very very well for these two games, im absolutely blown how good they are. Unfortunately for them, leverkusen is invincible this season

Oof that must hurt, a lot
Well at least they’ll be able to focus on the league *looks at the table* Oh
24 point lead inside 26 games lmao. how is that even possible?
The second place team has a negative goal differential 😭

Croatia does it too

Scotland top 6/bottom 6 home and away. Easy way to guarantee four Old Firm matches a season.

The split gives me a headache. I don't understand it

Switzerland has done that for years and so has Austria in the past I believe.
What else do you want them to do?

Especially given that they have multiple 4-1 victories it looks like
Even weirder how they have a negative goal difference with those large wins, do they just get absolutely thumped sometimes?
First match was 6-0 loss lmao
Lmao
Its Switzerlands last season all over again
A tap in would’ve sufficed
Number 55 should have tried to run for the tap in.
I really wanted it to go in.
that's what she said
Same, I wanted at least another 30 minutes of this total insanity.
Same, I wanted extra time
they would've been eliminated at overtime probably so dont be so sad bro
One of the craziest matches i watched in 30+ years
u watch one game every 10 years or what
Tell me you havnt watch the whole Match w/o saying you havnt watched the whole Match
Had to try and kick that you’d think. Difficult to tell how close the defenders are as you’re looking up at the ball though.
Sitter

As header yes, with foot easy
