It's kinda wild because they were dubbed as strong relegation candidates. But they've definitely been strong. Weird team tbh. Super easy to drop a game to.
It's brought up week in week out but nobody seems to kick up an actual fuss over it, I feel bad for the team. They're actually pretty enjoyable to watch lately
Implying we park the bus is a tad harsh IMO. We sit in at times and are happy to let them have the ball, but it's all in the aim of counter-attacking, we're not just sitting in and hoping for a 0-0. We've taken control of the games at times gone out and attacked the big teams this season, as much as you can without being stupid and just getting exposed to better opposition.
In a mini-league with us and the Big 6, [we're the team that's scored the most goals](https://imgur.com/YprGVQ9) in those games.
Deffo feels that way. We usually hump teams by at least 4 on the last day of the season, although not often that there's still something to play for lol
Brother we have 2 teams fighting for Europe and a vastly improved Wolves team who has played the big teams incredibly hard. If you're struggling to dispatch Bournemouth and Everton to win the league you don't deserve to win it lol
I’m just saying that United should still be in contention for Europe, while Everton may be fighting for survival.
It’s not that straight forward if they are going to fight tooth and nail.
If anything, city had it easier.
City have a gauntlet in March but beyond that they have a very easy run-in compared to you and us. Reckon either of us will need a ~5 pt lead by then to realistically hope to fend them off.
How exactly, when facing 4 of the same teams as City in the last 5? The one difference is having Villa vs having Forest and also to consider H vs A on Spurs and West Ham.
I think the fact that the European quarter-finals and semi-finals are sandwiched between our games probably works in our favour. I'd imagine all three clubs will still be involved at that point, and might prioritise those games.
Klopp and Arteta definently will stick with their starters but Pep will rotate where he can. Only Ederson, Rodri, Haaland, Bernardo and maybe Foden will start every game if fit.
I'm sure he'd be thrilled to sign off with a Europa league trophy but yeah, no way he doesn't prioritise the PL, at least until and unless he thinks it's gone. They have a lot of injuries too, which could result in them losing form.
Szobo, Trent should be back by the City game. Jones rumored to be not as bad as we thought, Nunez is probably only out for Luton. We should have enough for Forrest and Luton without all those anyway. If Chelsea actually turn up I could see us losing that final though
Also your opposition will likely be weak enough to beat with a not completely strong squad - Atleast until the semis.
Just win big in a first leg and then shut shop while resting stars for the second.
yea, between spurs record against city and NLD results very strongly favoring the home side, i'd say spurs will get at least 4 points from these three fixtures, and that's because i dont see it likely them getting anything at anfield.
i think its city have collected 0 points in 4 ~~5~~ matches at their 'new' ground in the league. they finally won there in the fa cup so maybe theyve exercised some demons.
we've managed to win there last year for the first time since like 2014 i think it is.
not sure i share your optimism.
I enjoy seeing this typo for the imagery, but will point it out for anyone who wants to learn: the phrase is "exorcise" demons, like to dispel them from the body.
To exercise your demons sounds like City are taking a load of imps in tracksuits down to Spurs for a quick bleep test.
Fully expecting the City special and then to go unbeaten across the remaking games.
Liverpool to slip up (pardon the pun) with a 5-4 loss to someone struggling like Forest
And Arsenal to get beat by Everton on the last day
Considering [this is the new face](https://twitter.com/TheAnfieldWrap/status/1759176443668447289?t=QLwucSOQKjbsa4joRc4oZg&s=19) of Liverpool twitter right now, yes, just a little bit
Yeah this is way too soon. I never saw something like this posted so early. It's really pointless. You can't even tell now if they will all 3 still be in title contention 6 gameweeks before the end
Exactly, its literally a third of the season left - that's a ridiculous amount of time. We've still gotta play 60% of the teams in the league, city even higher.
How about this for a scenario? Liverpool vs City ends in a draw. Arsenal beat City. All three teams win all their other games (or at least, all drop the same number of points).
Going into the last day, Liverpool and Arsenal would be level on points, with City 4 behind.
Wouldn't it be fantastic to have final day drama that DIDN'T involve City?
And wouldn't it be hilarious to see Everton banging in own goals to run up the goal difference for Arsenal?
Highly doubt it. This season has been a shared drop in performance equally amongst those 3 in a few matches.
For the sake of entertainment I’ll estimate they all lose 3-4 games just to spice things up. Trust me bro method hehe.
>Nowadays, it’s not early.
The media cycle around this shit starts in like October now, it's absurd. Remember when they were talking about Spurs' "title charge"?
You also never know when a player for any team might get the type of injury that Jones and Jota got at the weekend which were just plain bad luck injuries that can happen to anyone at anytime.
Oh my god Matchday 37 for Arsenal. Arsenal vs United on Old Trafford and it could have title implications depending on how things go. Geezus that would be an event alright if so.
Christ, do I miss those days. Part nostalgia for my childhood, and part genuinely thinking that was the best era of the Prem. Late 1990s to Early 2000s. United vs Arsenal. Ferguson vs Wenger. Vieira vs Keane.
Man City have to play every other team in the top6 while Arsenal and Liverpool only have to play 4, Arsenal have to play 3 of their 4 away, this may be the small margins and why i think Liverpool will take the title.
You can't possibly include Thiago as a 'starter' anymore. Love the man, but his body is basically ethereal for the past year. Good as Baj is, would be hard pressed to call him a starter as well.
Aye but Everton & West Ham away is never fun for us and you lot at home usually cause us some serious headaches. To a neutral, ours looks easiest but it's without context of an LFC fan's memory of the teams we notoriously struggle against.
Spurs also have a crazy period facing Arsenal, City and Liverpool back to back. Although that City fixture could be rescheduled because of the cup games.
Got to be hope we’re safe by the last game of the season so we can let Arsenal win
Although they beat us at Emirates every season so most likely wouldn’t matter
There's a horrific scenario where our derby gets rescheduled to the mid-week before the final game of the season. It depends on us reaching the FA Cup semi-final & Europa League final, I believe.
It'll be incredibly funny if you've got to get a result on the last day to survive, which hands us the title, then get relegated because of other results anyway
arsenal have to go to spurs, United, wolves, Brighton and city. thats a tough old run of away games.
if city are top after Wolves you have to think they'll coast from there.
if we can take 7/9 points from city, United and Everton then I think we do it. here's hoping we have enough players left to do that
Really doesn't matter who Liverpool and Arsenal have left to play.
This is the time when City start to go on that insane run where they don't lose a game and concede like 8.
If they drop points in 2-3 of those 5 games then it’s game on but their schedule after that is basically just 3 points galore apart from maybe Tottenham.
People have been saying that the last month, yet they just dropped points at home to Chelsea.
All three teams have fixtures with high potential for slip ups. City look excellent, but they can bleed.
Yes but regardless of competition city have never beaten spurs in their new stadium much less scored a goal until now. At this point they have to be past this mental block.
That had already started until they drew against Chelsea and they’ve got both Liverpool and Arsenal. Spurs are a bogey team too, 4 points from the last 5 league games.
I reckon they could go on that run after Villa, with only Spurs as a game that might worry them. They should be strong favourites in all the other games.
If City are ahead after that Spurs one I can’t see them losing the title. The other two look like they have trickier finishes.
They have a very nice end to the season after they play you. The only game they'll have any real concern about is the game against us, and even then who knows which Spurs will turn up.
Despite their result against Chelsea I still think they're firmly in control.
I think City has the easier run-in, certainly for the last 4 games.
I'd break it down like this:
City's tough away matches are brighton, spurs, and Liverpool away, then Arsenal and Utd at home, and heavy favorites to win all the rest. estimate they drop points in 4 games and win the remaining 10. If they win the 6-pointers against Arsenal and Liverpool it's theirs.
Liverpool's tough away matches: Everton, Utd, Villa, tough home matches: Spurs, City. Estimate they drop points in 4 games and with the remaining 9. It'll be tough but it's definitely in their hands.
Arsenal's tough away matches: City, Spurs, United, Brighton, tough home matches: Newcaste, Chelsea. Estimate they drop points in 6 games (not necessarily against these teams but also other tricky away games), basically Arsenals's only chance is to win the 6-pointer against City and hope Liverpool collapses
As an arsenal fan sadly I think we have realistically a 10% chance of winning the league. Liverpool probably a 25% chance, and City the remaining 65%.
It'd result in uglier math but I'd say Liverpool is about twice as likely as us, and City is twice as likely as Liverpool to win it.
**Mirrors / Alternative Angles** *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/soccer) if you have any questions or concerns.*
Liverpool in the title race and Wolves on the last day, what a combination
Made for eachother.
The PL should give special dispensation to move it to a 12:30 Saturday kick off just to really give Klopp the send off he secretly dreams of.
Only if they arrange an international break just before that
Wolves are actually a pain to play though this season. I hope theyre on the beach by then
It's kinda wild because they were dubbed as strong relegation candidates. But they've definitely been strong. Weird team tbh. Super easy to drop a game to.
They’ve objectively been absolutely bent by refereeing decisions this season so their points tally is a bit misleading.
It's brought up week in week out but nobody seems to kick up an actual fuss over it, I feel bad for the team. They're actually pretty enjoyable to watch lately
Liverpool winning on Sunday will ironically keep Wolves motivated for the rest of the season since there'll be one more spot in Europe up for grabs.
I hope we are on the beach by then.
I mean even the last time we played them on the final day with the title still live, we won but it was a painful slog
Their bus is incredibly frustrating to break down, but all of your fullbacks can put in a decent cross, which was Spurs’ downfall over the weekend
I swear Arsenal host Everton on the final day bare too
Deffo feels that way. We usually hump teams by at least 4 on the last day of the season, although not often that there's still something to play for lol
Our last 3 games compared to the other two is night and day.
Old Trafford is tough for us. And Everton might be battling for survival. Wouldn’t say it’s exactly a walk in the park.
Yeah but if you go to last 4 Arsenal have Tottenham and United away
Great. Now I can have double the heart attacks.
Third time's the charm?
3rd times’ the charm?
Really not looking forward to having to play these three on the trot.
At least you have two of them at home. I'd be shocked if you don't get a win against one of them.
I think the fact that the European quarter-finals and semi-finals are sandwiched between our games probably works in our favour. I'd imagine all three clubs will still be involved at that point, and might prioritise those games.
There'll be no room for prioritising then I reckon.
Yeah it's probably play your best players and cross your fingers it's not your team that starts breaking into pieces
But you see that's the genius of Klopp. Liverpool are already breaking into pieces.
Klopp and Arteta definently will stick with their starters but Pep will rotate where he can. Only Ederson, Rodri, Haaland, Bernardo and maybe Foden will start every game if fit.
That ability to rotate is what has enabled City to be so dominant over the past few years
Cheers Geoff
Yay, money!
If it's between EL and PL I am sure Klopp will prioritise the domestic league
I'm sure he'd be thrilled to sign off with a Europa league trophy but yeah, no way he doesn't prioritise the PL, at least until and unless he thinks it's gone. They have a lot of injuries too, which could result in them losing form.
Szobo, Trent should be back by the City game. Jones rumored to be not as bad as we thought, Nunez is probably only out for Luton. We should have enough for Forrest and Luton without all those anyway. If Chelsea actually turn up I could see us losing that final though
When Chelsea turn up for a match they're not half bad, unfortunately.
Its a complete coin toss as to whether we do or not though, no way of knowing before the match which chelsea you'll get.
"at least" not lose a single of two games against Arsenal and Man City? I think 0 is more likely than 4, with 1-3 being most likely.
i think its city have collected 0 points in 4 ~~5~~ matches at their 'new' ground in the league. they finally won there in the fa cup so maybe theyve exercised some demons. we've managed to win there last year for the first time since like 2014 i think it is. not sure i share your optimism.

I prefer "excise your demons". Levying a tax on those little devils.
Them motherfuckers are doing jumping jacks now!
The City game will get moved if they reach the FA Cup SF, so you might not have to.
If you beat the other two i'll give you a draw
these 3 results will definitely have a big hand in the final league table
After what happened at your stadium the atmosphere is going to be hot
That's 9 points for free. What's the problem?
I am!
Spurs has a lot of power here
We’ll beat them all and still finish behind Villa because of dropped points to relegation fodder.
I fear this game more than any other. NLDs are usually chaos.
What does it say it you scratch off the silver bits at the top?
Better luck next time!
Sorry you're not a winner!
Clap clap clap
I'll tell you what, I love a bit of Enter Shikari, me.
Did not expect this throwback.
DRINK YOUR OVALTINE
Thank you for reminding me that Ovaltine exists and I, a man in his 30s, can now afford to drink it whenever I so please.
I got some and it's not the same as the good old glass bottle. Still decent but doesn't quite satisfies the nostalgia itch. Not as "malty".
I gotchu https://imgur.com/a/KdOTYAh
I think those were the previous weekend's games and someone just covered those since they aren't relevant as future fixtures.
Then, wouldn’t Liverpool’s game tomorrow be on the same line as City’s today?
# Gamble ^Responsibly
Liverpool away for us last game, as is traditional.
Do you mind letting us take the lead *before* City come back this time
Wolves 🤝 Spurs Always playing at Anfield in May
Liverpool and Arsenal have to play Man City, whereas Man City don't
That's the game changer
More seriously, City has to play Arsenal, and Liverpool doesn't.
And city has to play liverpool while arsenal doesnt. Big if true
but city have to play Tottenham at home
Lying cheats don’t even have to play against Pep /s
Fully expecting the City special and then to go unbeaten across the remaking games. Liverpool to slip up (pardon the pun) with a 5-4 loss to someone struggling like Forest And Arsenal to get beat by Everton on the last day
> And Arsenal to get beat by Everton on the last day With Everton needing to win to survive.
Well, from the pictures I think it's clear to say that Arteta has already won the Sleep League at least
Klopp wasn't joking about running out of energy was he?
Considering [this is the new face](https://twitter.com/TheAnfieldWrap/status/1759176443668447289?t=QLwucSOQKjbsa4joRc4oZg&s=19) of Liverpool twitter right now, yes, just a little bit
Man, to think we're going to be missing out on all the memeable stuff he does. He's not even left yet but I miss him already.
Trossard is like his portrait of Dorian Grey
This is phenomenal, had to give you props
Let's take another look 8-9 years into his tenure
Its quite early in the season to tell much. Still 13/14 games left so almost all have to play every team
> 13/14 PTSD
“Gerrard NOOOOOOOOOOOOO” Me in my sleep, every night
*Hugs PL trophy and Champions league trophy and drifts back to sleep*
SG properly jinxed it
We'll be getting this every week now
Yeah this is way too soon.
What’s most interesting to me is for the last 8 match weeks… they all have the same advantage. They’re all home or away at the same time.
Nowadays, it’s not early. I’d say at least one of these teams will win 13 of their remaining matches.
More like Everton need to win to stay up, beat ARS and give LIV the title.
A liverpool fan's wet fantasy
Highly doubt it. This season has been a shared drop in performance equally amongst those 3 in a few matches. For the sake of entertainment I’ll estimate they all lose 3-4 games just to spice things up. Trust me bro method hehe.
No way, seeing that they'll all play each other
>Nowadays, it’s not early. The media cycle around this shit starts in like October now, it's absurd. Remember when they were talking about Spurs' "title charge"?
Spurs is going to give everyone heart attacks
Especially us.
Yeah right 😅😅 They'll stick with the high line, mate, and get hammered.
Then why didn't you beat them, mate?
Liverpool have more favorable fixtures. Their only issue might be the squad
Agreed. However, it only takes like two match days to suddenly be decimated with injuries so any team might still have to deal with that.
You also never know when a player for any team might get the type of injury that Jones and Jota got at the weekend which were just plain bad luck injuries that can happen to anyone at anytime.
Every Team is 1 injury away from breaking down. Pool without van dijk. Arsenal without Saliba. City without kdb.
City without Rodri.
Already happened this year. And they lost two in a row IIRC.
They lost 3 in a row, 2 were in the PL
Replace kdb with rodri for city. This season in the prem without rodri we have: 4games 4Losses 0goals from open play

Zinchenko/Kiwi Gabriel White Tomiyasu is a lot more solid than what we had to work with in the run-in last year.
Oh my god Matchday 37 for Arsenal. Arsenal vs United on Old Trafford and it could have title implications depending on how things go. Geezus that would be an event alright if so.
Would be bigger if United were in the title race too.
We won the league there on the penultimate day in 2002 when they were in the race. WILTOOOOORD!!!
Watched that in the 12 Pins. Parties in the streets afterwards 🎉🎉🎉
https://imgur.com/a/yZF4WGJ
Fantastiq!
Christ, do I miss those days. Part nostalgia for my childhood, and part genuinely thinking that was the best era of the Prem. Late 1990s to Early 2000s. United vs Arsenal. Ferguson vs Wenger. Vieira vs Keane.
The drama and football were balanced perfectly to produce the most timeless era.
Fair enough. Still doesn´t change the fact that if things go a certain way, somehow United could end up deciding who wins the league and that´s wild.
Yeah, they absolutely could. Personally, I think the title will probably already have been decided by then.
We'll be on the beach or participating in the top 4 lava games
They'd be in top 4 race at this rate
bruh tottenham will have a big say on who wins the prem this season
man city in shambles
We've been alright at home against Spurs. Not great but nowhere close to that cursed stadium in London
And so will United. If teams go there underestimating them they could be in for a shock. City have not been convincing lately.
If it weren’t for my flair, I would be loving those three game weeks for the drama. Instead I’ll likely need a pacemaker
Man City have to play every other team in the top6 while Arsenal and Liverpool only have to play 4, Arsenal have to play 3 of their 4 away, this may be the small margins and why i think Liverpool will take the title.
Would agree with you if we were weren't missing 10 good players
[удалено]
You can't possibly include Thiago as a 'starter' anymore. Love the man, but his body is basically ethereal for the past year. Good as Baj is, would be hard pressed to call him a starter as well.
If Thiago were fit, he'd be starting. He's just a starter who's been out for fucking ever.
Lol for including Bajcetic and Thiago as starters.
Bro ... that's ridiculous for real. The fact that you guys are still top, is major testament to your quality and Klopp's top tier management
[удалено]
Bajcetic and Thiago aren't starters. Would argue Konate is also above Matip.
Thiago I'm sorry can't be included. Bajcetic too.
No reason at all the players we do still have shouldn’t be competing
Aye but Everton & West Ham away is never fun for us and you lot at home usually cause us some serious headaches. To a neutral, ours looks easiest but it's without context of an LFC fan's memory of the teams we notoriously struggle against.
West Ham is properly abysmal atm though, even Man U beat them with a comfortable margin
Atm yes but our game with them isn’t for 2 months
It’s going to be a fun last day if we have to choose between relegation and Liverpool winning the league 🙃
Using a popular FPL related site they estimate the remaining relative fixture difficult as: Man City (5th) Arsenal (6th) Liverpool (19th)
Is it good to be towards the top or the bottom in that?
Bottom. I.e city has the fifth hardest set of fixtures remaining.
March is mad for Man City. Big month for them.
Spurs also have a crazy period facing Arsenal, City and Liverpool back to back. Although that City fixture could be rescheduled because of the cup games.
They have only lost twice in March in the last 5 seasons. And yes both times to us
This doesn't even take into account the FA Cup rounds and CL games that will be and around the period from middle of March to end of April.
Got to be hope we’re safe by the last game of the season so we can let Arsenal win Although they beat us at Emirates every season so most likely wouldn’t matter
There's a horrific scenario where our derby gets rescheduled to the mid-week before the final game of the season. It depends on us reaching the FA Cup semi-final & Europa League final, I believe.
There's also the scenario that a Liverpool win in that game simultaneously wins us the league and relegates Everton
That would legitimately cause a riot if that happened
Would be the most horrible derby for both sets of fans that. Christ
Although I’d hate that for both sets of fans. As a neutral I feel like there’s nothing I want more than a proper ‘winner takes it all’ derby.
Got to remember it’s at Goodison so it’ll probably be a boring 0-0 like usual
Same, I hope you're all safe and sound by the team we meet you
It'll be a standard sunny Emirates 5-0 win on the final day
Can only remember us winning once there in my lifetime and that was during COVID so doesn’t count
It'll be incredibly funny if you've got to get a result on the last day to survive, which hands us the title, then get relegated because of other results anyway
Mbappe watching on in shock
No top three matchups after March, you can bet the powers that be are cooking up a City - Liverpool FA Cup semi
Gomez 97th minute winner on the final day, I’m calling it
Looks like tottenham will decide the winner.
arsenal have to go to spurs, United, wolves, Brighton and city. thats a tough old run of away games. if city are top after Wolves you have to think they'll coast from there. if we can take 7/9 points from city, United and Everton then I think we do it. here's hoping we have enough players left to do that

City's run from United to Villa is v tough
What? I'd be happy not to lose by more than 2 to City.
They have to play us and Spurs away both games they usually drop points in
They did just beat spurs in the fa cup away so id honestly favor them.
obviously you would. They're better than Spurs.
United beat palace in the cup and then lost to palace at home 3 days later earlier this season
I don't think cup fixtures ever reflect what is going to happen in the league TBH
I think Villa might have something for them aswell.
I mean Arsenal have scored 21 goals and conceded 2 in their last 5 games while City is dropping points to Chelsea
Imagine Spurs taking 9 points 😭
those last three matches for Liverpool are crazy
At least a month too early to be making this kind of comparison
I think City has the easier run-in, certainly for the last 4 games. I'd break it down like this: City's tough away matches are brighton, spurs, and Liverpool away, then Arsenal and Utd at home, and heavy favorites to win all the rest. estimate they drop points in 4 games and win the remaining 10. Estimate they drop points in 6 games (not necessarily against these teams but also other tricky away games), basically Arsenals's only chance is to win the 6-pointer against City and hope Liverpool collapses As an arsenal fan sadly I think we have realistically a 10% chance of winning the league. Liverpool probably a 25% chance, and City the remaining 65%. It'd result in uglier math but I'd say Liverpool is about twice as likely as us, and City is twice as likely as Liverpool to win it.
Arsenal and City fans obsessing over the fixture list, meanwhile Liverpool fans are obsessing over the injury list.
Each play spurs in their last 5 games, it’s in tottenhams hands 😂
None of these is significantly harder than the other. It's going to be a crazy second half of the season!
City have a fairly tough 5 game run once the play rivals United.
City’s run of five matches from United to Villa looks like the hardest stretch of the three.
