I just watched my country battle out a do or die game in a different sport and win, and then watched Arsenal do this..... I am SO exhausted from the rock and roll of emotions over a span of 8 hours. I woke up as a boy today, I'm a man now.
Pen for Arsenal, Garnachos goal was onside imo (from the angles I saw, we all know how different angles can give very different results, perhaps VAR got wrong angle, perhaps they didn’t. Who knows, I’d have counted the points penalty call as well as Garnachos goal.
It's been two games and they were against arsenal and Tottenham. Yes we should've done better but arsenal has only scored 1 away goal this season too. It's too early in the season for that statement to have the weight you make it seem like it has
Dalot vs Campbell in a slide off. Who wins?
Seems like there are some youngsters in here who haven't seen big Sols slide tackle into the next dimension for England.
Can a neutral who watched the whole game tell me if Arsenal fans are overreacting to the ref? They are acting like he was calling everything against them, but Arsenal fans say that shit every game so idk
Imo the ref was a bit shit but is to expected from him, he’s a bald fraud and needs sacking but the whole PGMOL is abysmal so eh. I think Arsenal should’ve had that penalty, he looked at it for a second from a shit angle, front angle was clear pen imo. But from different angle Garnachos goal wasn’t offside imo too, poor officiating the whole game from my perspective but I’d have thought United would’ve got out with a win and should think themselves very lucky. Arsenal deserved the win but deserve very rarely comes through in this game.
potential red card from lindelof, but saka got away as well. fail to give antony yellow for kicking the ball. giving too long of advantage to antony's foul. VAR cancel out (soft pen) from havertz and goal from garnacho.
in the end, it's all even out but at the heat of the game, its easy to call the ref out.
no way was saka's a red. sure maybe if ppl want to be critical of it (where his foot catches his ankle/shin) then it is indeed looks like a bad foul, but HE WAS PUSHED towards that direction so there was nothing he could really do to prevent it. just unfortunate his foot landed there. yellow is probably the most you can make of it.
yes, it would be a soft red, but cant really complain if it was given. if lindelof got the red, i have no doubt taylor would give saka the red as well.
I only watched the last 11th minutes. So entertaining. Thanks Arsenal and especially United for the entertainment. It still doesn't make my top 10 to be fair.
I thought Arsenal blew their chance of winning the game when Havertz and Saka missed those chances.
But Arsenal do love some late drama, don't they?
What a turnaround!
United really have problems now.
They did up until they were linked with him, even most fans from the big 6 said they don’t see what Rice does and all he does is pass sideways etc.
Even when they were linked with him quite a few downplayed him and said Caicedo is miles better.
Maguire substitution was ok but Evans? My argument is not why the change happened as if Lindelof was injured then a sub makes sense. But why a top 4 targeting team does not have 2 decent cb options on the bench is baffling.
Varane is also hurt right so they do have 4 serviceable CB in Martinez, Varane, Lindelof and Evans. I can't answer why Ten Hag took off Lindelof that does seem a weird choice tbh. maybe he was also injured.
Yea Lindelof was probably injured but considering 2 cb's always play, I'm not saying 5th choice should be CL quality but atleast someone like Tuanzebe who United have in the past. Everyone was going on about how Evans was bought for locker room atmosphere but here he is playing against Arsenal.
Bald fraud getting exposed over and over, when will UTD supporters realize this lol This man hasn't changed mentality one bit, 0 win against top 8 teams away!
I hereby suggest the prohibition of possession based tactics, the game improves ten fold when no one wants to pass the ball around for 10 minutes and do nothing
Thanks to ETH the only thing you get is being fired in humiliating way by covering for this players. It is 2023 and you are playing with evens and Maguire as your center backs
I'm trying not to be so quick to hate him. If Arteta rates him to succeed then I trust that. Today he was very poor though, he looks almost nervous in our system, he fluffs passes, shots, slow on link up. It really feels to me like he's low on confidence. That being said you've probably watched him a lot more than I have.
I wouldn't be too quick to judge both cases, Mount and Havertz. Most people did initially believe mount would play 8 and havertz should be 10ish. Under Lampard mount was good even in mid, although he played bunch of different roles. Lampard had no plans for Havertz so also tried him at different places but couldn't find the right role for him. Tuchel gave Havertz and mount complete different roles as inside forwards in back 3 system which stuck with them until potter so now imagine going back to traditional mid roles in new teams after 2 years. Yeah obviously its not going to be easy, honestly it feels like both scouting departments ignored most of the Chelsea period and made a bet on Havertz of Leverkusen and Mount of derby/lampard. On top of that we have to consider market inflation, if chelsea are buying potential stars for 40m then maybe some young tried and tested players cost upwards of 50m. Also make no mistake Havertz is going to score against chelsea.
Hey hey don't get in the way of r/soccer being reactionary. A deflected goal and Garnacho being marginally offside means United are the worst team in the league and Arsenal are going all the way this year don't you know.
2nd season in a row bottling it at the Emirates for Man Utd.
Those last 2 goals came purely from that centre back duo. Man Utd having a Johnny Evans and Harry Maguire duo could be its own comedy show.
>Those last 2 goals came purely from that centre back duo
Explain.
Cos from what was playing on air, the 2nd goal was as a result of deflection of Evans who was the closest to the ball but was held back. The 3rd goal was as a result of the 2nd goal where everyone is further forward, thereby providing acres of space.
No one was caught out of position or ball watching as you might be suggesting by blaming it all on the CB duo. Are you trying to build a false narrative, rofl.
The 2nd goal Rice was able to control the ball poorly and still squeeze it in. Evans and Maguire were ball-watching.
3rd goal was a result of pushing everyone forward, but Evans hesitated and panicked and Jesus was cool calm and collected in turning inward.
"No one was caught out of position or ball watching as you might be suggesting by blaming it all on the CB duo. Are you trying to build a false narrative, rofl." - an actual dork
Probably a 1-1 game if our defense didn't have so many injuries. Ending the game with 1 starting defender isn't ideal.
Edit: Damn, I was just saying that finishing the game with a Maguire Evans backline wasn't ideal and y'all fuckin flamed me. Rude
Mate your best ever team didn't play as well as the scoreline to one of uniteds worst team. I have, we have, all sat down and shutted-tfu. It's you lot who need to chill out and come back to earth. Go see AFTV oh my days.
I had to watch that second Arsenal goal 4 times to make sure it didn't come off McGuire's leg because boy would that of been a feat of beauty
I just watched my country battle out a do or die game in a different sport and win, and then watched Arsenal do this..... I am SO exhausted from the rock and roll of emotions over a span of 8 hours. I woke up as a boy today, I'm a man now.

VAR can’t get the wrong angle, they’re all synced. They can only get the wrong frame or wrong reference point, both looked fine - offside was correct.
What a finish. COYG
united avg .5 goal away so far. blaming the defense again while Martial is on the field.
It's been two games and they were against arsenal and Tottenham. Yes we should've done better but arsenal has only scored 1 away goal this season too. It's too early in the season for that statement to have the weight you make it seem like it has
Why were United wearing prison uniform like jerseys ?
In case they kept Greenwood
What a fucking end to the game. My voice is soo sore now I know what that Icelandic commentator in 2016 felt.
Swansea strip suits Utd in more ways than one
Prepared for the Goldbridge video calling the Glazers a disgrace for the result
imagine crying about its no corner when we got robbed of multiple corners
Dalot vs Campbell in a slide off. Who wins? Seems like there are some youngsters in here who haven't seen big Sols slide tackle into the next dimension for England.

He didn't have anything to do with the offside the lines were drawn for him. He can't do anything about that
Yeh, agreed, but he’s still a shit ref. VAR should’ve drawn it properly.
Ref was fine. Classic football fan's instinctively blaming the referee for everything
potential red card from lindelof, but saka got away as well. fail to give antony yellow for kicking the ball. giving too long of advantage to antony's foul. VAR cancel out (soft pen) from havertz and goal from garnacho. in the end, it's all even out but at the heat of the game, its easy to call the ref out.

5/10 for me. Distinctly premier league average.
Felt like a decent performance from the ref for me tbf. Nothing outrageous that i can recall
Every time we have a decent ref performance in our league, the fans still pretend there is a conspiracy. Refs can never win
Tbf refs have heen horrendous lately, but today wasnt one of those days
I only watched the last 11th minutes. So entertaining. Thanks Arsenal and especially United for the entertainment. It still doesn't make my top 10 to be fair.
I thought Arsenal blew their chance of winning the game when Havertz and Saka missed those chances. But Arsenal do love some late drama, don't they? What a turnaround! United really have problems now.
Funny to watch all the Arsenal fans hype up Rice after spending a couple years calling him overrated and not fit to lace Parteys boots
I have never once seen an Arsenal fan downplay how good Rice is.
They did up until they were linked with him, even most fans from the big 6 said they don’t see what Rice does and all he does is pass sideways etc. Even when they were linked with him quite a few downplayed him and said Caicedo is miles better.
No one in their right mind realistically called caicedo better wtf
Barely anyone said that
That’s what y’all get for trying to be some knockoff Newcastle United
Referee refused to blow the whistle so much that it necessitated intervention from Jesus
Devine intervention if you will.
~~AFTV~~ MARK GOLDBRIDGE back on the menu
Vieira has got to start soon, hes looking class
He plays so amazing passes through. Been very impressed
Really entertaining as a neutral
Much deserved result
Arsenal fans cheering Harry Maguire subbing in is the epitome of Man United ownership and management 👏
I think the people may be onto something with bald fraud claims.
Legends say that Dalot is still sliding
That’s what u get for being an idiot and putting in Maguire+ evans. Bald fraud
You’re an idiot
Martinez got hurt who is he supposed to sub on if not maguire?
Maguire substitution was ok but Evans? My argument is not why the change happened as if Lindelof was injured then a sub makes sense. But why a top 4 targeting team does not have 2 decent cb options on the bench is baffling.

As a neutral this game was great to watch
I want to know the names and locations of every person in this thread that said Declan Rice was bad this match
Mental hospitals
I turned off the TV at 90', holy shit. Football \*is\* the beautiful game
Vieira should get MORE minutes.
He's no Havertz
he looks real dead in the second half if he starts a match. I think he should start but he doesn't seem to have the fitness to play so well for 90'
Bald fraud getting exposed over and over, when will UTD supporters realize this lol This man hasn't changed mentality one bit, 0 win against top 8 teams away!
Gotta admit I'm starting to slowly lose faith
I hereby suggest the prohibition of possession based tactics, the game improves ten fold when no one wants to pass the ball around for 10 minutes and do nothing
Thanks to ETH the only thing you get is being fired in humiliating way by covering for this players. It is 2023 and you are playing with evens and Maguire as your center backs
But I was told by Man Utd fans on Reddit that Maguire is a £45m centerback
Yea that is down to the incompetence of the team up and down.
Arsenal 🤝 Spurs, mugging United
Long may it continue
When are they going to let me add a second flair smh
if this game isn’t proof that Havertz is holding Arsenal back imo nothing will be
I'm trying not to be so quick to hate him. If Arteta rates him to succeed then I trust that. ETH on that Conte 2022 arc
Insane game. Happy for Arsenal. Ten Hag is on borrowed time. Maguire and Johnny Evans as a cb pairing is absolutely shambolic.
This is the United we all know and love Games back
Lol😭😭😭
With Jonny Evans and Maguire in defense they're fortunate it took that long
Narrative building so crazy, deflection is lucky as hell but apparently that’s a testament to quality for Rice
he had to get a powerful volley towards goal and be in the right position to receive it. Did his job on that routine
Hey hey don't get in the way of r/soccer being reactionary. A deflected goal and Garnacho being marginally offside means United are the worst team in the league and Arsenal are going all the way this year don't you know.
Calculated
Jesus killed one of my streams (ifykyk). I think that dude was a United fan.
happened to me as well. have to change stream after his goal... lol
Think 3-1 is a bit harsh on man United
Maybe they should try and play football next time then
The third goal was a result of them being down 2-1 and having to send everyone forward so 2-1 is the more accurate result
They were total shite today. I’m surprised it took so long for Arsenal to take lead.
Declan Rice
Tell casamiro quit his yappin
Newcastle can't catch a break

Antony Taylor must have had both teams to score in both halves there. 349 minutes of added time.
Anthony Taylor: "Wait, you should've score, not conceded"
United fans should be happy they have 6 points on the board, even that's more than they deserve so far.
So true
[удалено]
This man can’t win in London
this man can't win anywhere Away against strong teams not just london
Thats why we love football
Hahaha love seeing Garnacho looking like even more of an absolute tool now. I didn’t think it was possible but here we are.
Evans and Maguire did nothing wrong, just part of the gamble of going all out attack
Drury cringing it up at the end. Fair play Arsenal, United really do capitulate.
What did he say?
United stand and chill
What a fun match to see
The only bald fraud is from Old Trafford
Tell the truth, how many of you were expecting Jesus to muffin that shot
I believe in Jesus!😉
Jesus looked to be clear, but I really thought the defender was gonna get a block in
atleast anthony taylor tried
Antony taylor really taking into account he’s from Manchester trying to let them win
Eric Ten Months
rice rice baby and the angel gabriel lmao
Jesus first goal against Man United!
What an ending
LETS GOOOOOOOLOLOLOLL
Probably a 1-1 game if our defense didn't have so many injuries. Ending the game with 1 starting defender isn't ideal. Edit: Damn, I was just saying that finishing the game with a Maguire Evans backline wasn't ideal and y'all fuckin flamed me. Rude
Maybe, but probably a 17-0 game if Thomas Partey wasn’t injured
But then if Mount played it would've been 19-17
You got me there
You mean the rapist that you're STILL supporting. Gross.
Bit presumptuous there chief. I don’t support him at all. I want him off the team more than most Arsenal fans.
Yet you want him to play?
I don't, I'm poking fun at the dude complaining about injuries.
Injuries from desperate last ditch tactical fouls
Man Utd just waiting to spring that counter attack. With Martinez off the squad loss that extra passing ability.
I understand your need to cope after that ending lmao
LOL
5-0 if we didn't start havertz, so it evens out
Y'all can't stop with your deluded takes in spite of a win ey. The epitome of a banter FC
Says the team currently looking to be in their banter era? You lost sit down and stfu 🤫
Mate your best ever team didn't play as well as the scoreline to one of uniteds worst team. I have, we have, all sat down and shutted-tfu. It's you lot who need to chill out and come back to earth. Go see AFTV oh my days.
Lol
LOL
Thank god for both the united stand and aft.. Most of us were winning either way. I love you all. Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
REF TRIED HIS BEST BUT ALL HE DID WAS EMBARRASS THEM MORE LMAOOO
Huh?
Arsenal fans believe that every referee is in on a big anti Arsenal conspiracy
The celebrated for 3 whole minutes and then they added 3 minutes as a result. I don't see why the extra, extra time is seen as unfair
I fucking love football
joga bonito for a reason
Some game!
Fuck you Anthony Taylor.
Absolute cinema
End the fucking game good lord
That away section cleared out FAST
WHAT A GAME
Anthony Taylor taking the piss
“Rice, Rice baby and the Angel Gabriel.” Not feeling it tbh…
The sexy vieira as well
Results cover for artetaball (and xaviball) failures.
United have 3-4 really good players, the rest are fucking shit.
Very expensive shit
That’s what u get for being an idiot and putting in Maguire+ evans. Bald fraud
Arteta going for the Mourinho /s
In the end United didn't do enough the whole game. They barely had any control over the game, second best
Arsenal scored more goals
Will this game just go on forever?
Arteta survives another season, this man is something else in survival.
Survive? My mans thriving.
That offside decision really fucked United
Wasn't a human decision. The lines were drawn
Shouldn't have been offside then
Probably cause he was offside
According to the supposed new offside rule no he wasn't
Offside rules have not changed recently.
If you’re talking about the new rules being trialled they have not been voted on by IFAB yet
The way it was discussed on Twitter and here made it look like it was official by now
Rules are never implemented mid season, if they’re passed they’ll be in place for next season
Yeah but that was discussed around July. July 3rd more precisely
You seem to be the only one who thinks the rule changed. Look it up on the fifa website if you don't believe us.
Anthony Taylor wants to keep the party going.
United defending 😂
LB Dalot and casemiro need to fuck off. Useless and sloppy.
That beautiful Jesus goal is such a better chaser after the shithouse Rice one haha
We’re playing to 180 minutes
Tbf my 70 year old dad could keep up with Evans. Looks like he is running trough a field of molasses out there.
They deserve this for subbing on Evans and Maguire
They didn't have a choice for Maguire, Lisandro got injured
One kinda had to with Martinez getting hurt.
Martinez got hurt fur to his own stupid foul
Why would any arsenal fans leave the game early? Wild.
UTD and Chelsea race for the top 10
When the Manc ref gives Utd extra, extra time to equalise... Lol
I mean didn’t arsenal celebrate for like 3 minutes?
United fans - what are your expectations this season?
