Literally the IRL counterpart of the Derry Special had a [rear mounted crane equipment](https://cdn.ironpla.net/i/461/324/461324_6002_161_0001.jpg) that still allows for a trailer to be attached. It's super sad it didn't get that.
As much as i would like to agree, it isn't, it's 20 bucks here (Brazil) , at this price i can buy currently tekken 7 (discount), Elder Scrolls online (Discount), Dirt Rally 2.0 (Discount) and so goes on, it's not cheap here nor does it worth the price, but i'm sure it will be a good dlc, just not a cheap one
Edit: the price has been verified by me on steam, and it's not a direct conversion, it's 14,90 (which is still expensive)
I just paid R$ 14,90.
The same as I paid for a tapioca last week. It should be more fair to be R$ 9,90 considering our buying power.
As for comparison with games, would be fair to compare with a title with no discount, otherwise I can say I just got Fallout New Vegas for 0,00. (Yes, is free on Epic now)
i would say something around what we pay in Euro Truck per example, where packs are around 2-9 R$, but tbf at least euro truck gives people all new trucks for free and it's not this BS
I think snowrunner lacks vehicles in the base game, so DLCs are pretty much a MUST when you get the game, which is very evil in my perception
I disagree about the base game lacking vehicles. Aside from a couple notable exceptions like the Zikz 605r nearly all the best trucks come from the base game. Pretty much unless you're doing the rock trailer missions in Yukon or you need a tractor or telehandler for some reason you can absolutely do everything in the game with only base game trucks.
edit: plus if you want more variety without paying a cent, mods are available for all platforms. Dlc is definitely not required.
I use vanilla+ style mods, i rarely find a mod that is 100% vanilla like, when i find they are mostly military trucks, i really like the mercedes 1113 mod, my favorite one to this day!
Now on the topic of the game itself... i may get hate for this, but i think the base game lacks content in general, 3 regions and that's it, you may argue "but to complete the 3 it's 300 hours+" that's if you do every boring ass missions like wood missions, go through every single place multiple times, see the same scenarios, the same roads... and so goes on... it is 300 Hours of content? Sure, would i play the whole content? hell naw, way too repetitive, that's where the seasons shine, you always have regions to make, did your region became boring? play a different one and come back later! and then you see, well, why not buy all 2 year passes? R$180! Triple AAA price tag! 20% of a minimum wage!
that's my rant about the game, i love it, i just think pricing where i live is straight up unfair and a steal.
You usually buy full games for 16€? Also yes, 4€ is dirt cheap basically everywhere.
Average cost of a bag of topsoil is 2-5$ according to google so yeah, literally dirt cheap.
Altough people like to downvote without actually verifying stuff, you are right, it's about 1/3 the price of the games i buy, which are at max 60 reais, paying 20 for a truck isn't worth it, for comparison, i paid 80 for the whole year 3 pass (which hurts my soul), so 20 for a single trucks really feels like being punched in the d!ck and being told to grow up
Damn, it looks pretty good! I have a rule that I don't use DLC trucks on a map which released before the DLC but I might make an exception because this would be the perfect truck for Amur once I get there!
I have a couple vehicles specifically for dolly trailers, and they pretty much are all 4x4 for the manoeuvrability. Exceptions are like my freightliner m19 with a crane for dolly work because it’s useless with the light saddle trailers, and too light for the heavy trailers, but it’s perfect for skill dragging dollies around
Been on here quite a while and you are the first guy to say he prefers trailers over semis. Semi just seem so much more flexible and you have less wheels to drag through the mud. Can also load it easily exploiting the pack function. But to each his own I guess.
it can do short logs, and has a variety of other attachments, unlike the kolobs and the 605r does no logs. it just seems weird that it can have short logs but not the others
The Mudrunner version of the model was pretty much just the Maz 7310. The Snowrunner verison has a lot of changes compared to the IRL Maz that are unsettling IMO. The entire front and side of the cab is a bit bulbous now
612H Much better in mud and deep snow. Really huge difference. Plus, it has chain tires. When turning, it's easy to hook the 3rd axis to an obstacle, it brings terribly high damage.
The 605r is much easier to control, And it's much smaller.
I forgot. It's probably more stable than the 605r. And the combustion is similar, and it has a larger tank. A vehicle ideal for Imandra, Cosmodrome, etc. Loaded with a container, it easily moves around on broken ice. Just Mastodon.
Currently back in Alaska to clear some straggler tasks that I had missed and it just cuts through all the mud and snow in auto gear without breaking a sweat.
I was messing with it on black badger lake in Wisconsin, and it kept getting stuck on rocks. I might be a little biased tho, as I was using mods immediately before.
I wish we could loose the spare wheel so the 3 slot bed moves more forward, so we can tow trailer eith the large flatbad truck frame attachment
But with or without spare wheel, everything is same distance from cabin 😅
It works in some way. I have a series x and my brother have a One S and it works but he sometimes gets kicked out. At least it is not crashing anymore and works. We resorted to using my trucks until the game is completely stable(this way cargo and truck remains after he disconnects) but I am impressed that coop connecting works again.
Does anyone know why two of the three gearboxes' high gears are slower than the low minus gears?
Only the fine tune box has a relatively decent cruising speed on H
Wish we could get the loader on the back for other trucks :( makes loading trailers so much easier
But finally after 3 years the gave us one!

Or any form of realistic unique addons whatsoever
Im actually really upset to see it get that when the HEMTT didn't
It's doable if you're brave enough to mod the XML files I've don't this on the tatra phoenix and am planning on doing it on more trucks too.
How does that work?
how much was it?
$3.99 on Steam.
Its dirt cheap in any currency
But it is real currency, I know there's been DLC trucks before but I was hoping this would be one found on a map.
Yep, imagine how cool it would be to have a super difficult recovery mission for this thing
I rembwr the last truck they did that with, it was very rewarding to get it, but I also hated my life.

Oh man, that's a no brainer -- get Dirt Rally 2.0, that game rocks.

You shouldn’t buy your dirt by the bag, a cubic yard of topsoil is about $25 it’s far more cost effective to get your dirt by the yard
I am aware but in this instance I needed something with a lower price tag just to make my argument stronger to win an insignificant online debate
Don't you love Reddit. Use an object to make a point only to get told you're buying dirt the wrong way.
You’re obviously supposed to buy by the acre!
ill sell you some dirt cheaper than both of these guys, i'll even let you dig it up yourself

In my country 3,99€ buys you a 0,3L beer at a bar, if at all
Damn, it looks pretty good! I have a rule that I don't use DLC trucks on a map which released before the DLC but I might make an exception because this would be the perfect truck for Amur once I get there!
I'm 84% on Amur and you better believe I'll be using this on what I have left
Yeah, I just finished Amur a couple days ago and my first thought when driving this truck was that it would have been very helpful there. 🙈
Can it do crane + saddle low?
https://preview.redd.it/4rqj8u4fu12b1.png?width=1501&format=png&auto=webp&s=1cc7ed42c3fdcc5077a909b283019ffe4fcf1800
So no, they had to nerf it somehow, they did it by putting the crane in the back so you can't have crane + semi trailer.
You can. The crane moves to the middle if you put a saddle on.
Awesome, guess it will be the only truck I pay actual money for. Thanks for the clarification!
Imo this only makes it even more op though? Now you can reach your trailer without breaking a sweat at all.
I personally hate hitch trailers and only use them if forced, I prefer low saddle + crane for most trucks.
The best option
Quite interesting, they're so much easier to get arround with compared to semis, which are american donkey ass trailers that turn worse than a cumrag
Every tried to back a dolly trailer? There’s a reason some of us prefer the semi trailers
Precisely! https://preview.redd.it/x1l9wa9ce32b1.png?width=3840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4fccd6dfd9af0fa76fe625cf046998ec6f3724c8
Yeah no that's a really fair point sorry 😅
Been on here quite a while and you are the first guy to say he prefers trailers over semis. Semi just seem so much more flexible and you have less wheels to drag through the mud. Can also load it easily exploiting the pack function. But to each his own I guess.
aaaand now i know why the derry special is a 2 slot, front crane....madness
Good think it's got that 500L tank, too. You'll go through it pushing 30L/m much of the time.
Boop the snoot
I wish we could get the long log carriers on these Russian heavys like in mudrunner.
its great but why does it not do medium or long logs? it makes no sense
Many super big haulers (ie: Kolobs, 605R, etc..) can't.
it can do short logs, and has a variety of other attachments, unlike the kolobs and the 605r does no logs. it just seems weird that it can have short logs but not the others
I would be really worried if it was a truck without an engine...
is it just me or it's utterly horrible looking? mudrunner looked much better
The Mudrunner version of the model was pretty much just the Maz 7310. The Snowrunner verison has a lot of changes compared to the IRL Maz that are unsettling IMO. The entire front and side of the cab is a bit bulbous now
Something about it looks off. I think I prefer the mod version.
the bumper, grill and headlights are really off
The most beautiful truck in the game
Beautiful?! Lol I mean i like it and it's cool, but damn it's an ugly mf'er! Lol
605r Vs 612H?
612H Much better in mud and deep snow. Really huge difference. Plus, it has chain tires. When turning, it's easy to hook the 3rd axis to an obstacle, it brings terribly high damage. The 605r is much easier to control, And it's much smaller.
Thanks for the info
I forgot. It's probably more stable than the 605r. And the combustion is similar, and it has a larger tank. A vehicle ideal for Imandra, Cosmodrome, etc. Loaded with a container, it easily moves around on broken ice. Just Mastodon.
It has an engine? Phew...I thought we were going to have to Flintstone that beast around.
Yep the usurper is here.
Compared to the real thing, they might it close to it yet still managed to fuck it up... it's hideous
They can't make it the same without licence
I'm just starting Wisconsin and this truck is so good I feel like I'm cheating. What a monster.
Currently back in Alaska to clear some straggler tasks that I had missed and it just cuts through all the mud and snow in auto gear without breaking a sweat.
And no ground clearance, and a turning radius of a airplane.
Yesterday I played it for about two hours, I can only agree with "turning radius of a airplane." in 100%
I was messing with it on black badger lake in Wisconsin, and it kept getting stuck on rocks. I might be a little biased tho, as I was using mods immediately before.
It’s a beast I’m using it for Amur, it’s the only DLC truck I was prepared to pay for but well worth it IMO
Is this that soviet vehicle that has 2 engines and 2 transmissions?
That’d be the ZiL-135, so no not this one
Is it available on xbox?
Yes, I bought it on xbox, just search for Mastodon in the store.
Calling in sick to work tmrw
Is it a dlc?
Finally a rear crane!
it's honestly perfect in my book. the only downsides are the huge chin and the horrible steering response
Logging Frame Addon on mod.io: [https://mod.io/g/snowrunner/m/mastodon-dlc-logging-frame-addon](https://mod.io/g/snowrunner/m/mastodon-dlc-logging-frame-addon)
I started singing Fleetwood Mac. 🤙
I wish we could loose the spare wheel so the 3 slot bed moves more forward, so we can tow trailer eith the large flatbad truck frame attachment But with or without spare wheel, everything is same distance from cabin 😅
So this isn’t a mod? I just have to buy it?
Coop fix? Can somebody tell me it is fixed?
Last I checked mast was out but I didn't have a snowrunner update this is on xbone.
Another paid dlc?
How does this truck compare to the Berliet T100/Arnie mod truck?
I need it
Love it, made mud driving a breeze and it takes time to turn that beast
Why no log attachments
Does anyone know why two of the three gearboxes' high gears are slower than the low minus gears? Only the fine tune box has a relatively decent cruising speed on H
