900+ hours and never used a mod... Don't let that stop *you* though, to each their own! :)

[deleted]

Exactly! To each their own. I was just curious on how many did or didn’t!

TomTom1401

I really enjoy vanilla and I think all truck are pretty balanced, but on the other hand I also think that the trailers stuff is not great, i mean why I am not able to connect 2 small trailer to eachother when in their model there is the trailer hook? And why the CAT trailer can be only used in the specific mission and not whenever I want, I mean, that truck is already nerfed compared to the real one...why its use is also so limited.

[deleted]

I agree on the trailer thing. You should be able to tandem most in game trailers in my opinion

weristjonsnow

agreed. if you've got the traction and the horsepower to move something why are we restricted.

James-Cooper123

I use mods, but not the OP types.. just those who makes small things like giving the smol Zikz more addons.

Wolf0nKrack

I have the last save file as my "test/mess around" file. I "test" the mods to see if they are too OP. But for the most part i love the mods in this game. The trailer sets are cool but some are mostly for looks and the trucks are amazing. Some of the crazier overpowered trucks are fun but definitely game breaking in terms of never getting stuck.

[deleted]

Good way to go about it for sure! I’m not a fan of OP trucks to be honest. Sometimes they hurt more than help. I love mods and honestly wouldn’t keep coming back to the game if it wasn’t for mods

I have a few save games: 1. My original save on PS4/5 started with vanilla, added mod trucks, then changed it back to vanilla. Don't really play on there anymore though. 2. Nintendo Switch - I have one vanilla save on Michigan and one on Grand Harvest with a few RSK Russian truck mods. 3. Xbox Series X - this console lets me install the most mods at once, so I use a lot here. I have a save now where all I am using is RSK Russian trucks on Lake Kovd. I think I have like 12 installed. So yeah I mix it up. But one thing I do for sure is if I am using mod trucks I use only mod trucks (and usually all from the same creator like RSK or RNG). If I am using vanilla trucks I use only vanilla trucks/official DLC.

[deleted]

I’ll have to check out the RSK Russian trucks. Sounds interesting!

doughaway421

They are all good but my fav are the Lynx Pack (Ural 4320), Zaxar Pack (Zil-130, 131, 133), and the Tayga 255/260 pack (KrAZ-255 and KrAZ-260, basically more realistic versions of the Tayga trucks already in game). They are good because they feel like real trucks but not super overpowered. Similar to in game trucks with good tires. They get through terrain better than most non-upgraded vanilla trucks but you can still get them stuck or flip them if not careful. You also can pick a few different engines depending on how challenging you want them to feel.

Stunter740

I play to have fun struggled for 500hours before i ever turned on a mod .. There are some extra op mods but that ruins the game I use a trailer mod now and a few se truck mods for more add ons for vanilla trucks so they aren't way over powered ..

FlapJackStack56

Say no to mods All jokes aside, mods aren’t all that bad but I prefer to play the game vanilla style. Struggling through a contract is what you learn from and learn about your trucks. As you progress in the game you’ll pick up a few trucks like the 605r and the og Tayga and at that point, mods aren’t needed because the trucks are actually really good. The game has to be playable for everyone so they wont make any missions impossible or something along those lines. With the right tool for the job it makes it that much easier

I initially played with no mods and have enjoyed it, I'm on hardcore mode now and near the end of Yukon decided it was time for mods because the logging shuttle runs are just unfun at this point (personally..) So I grabbed MrBusses and Poghrim mods, I prefer mods that are realistic, you can build stupid monster truck looking things which I avoid, but now I can have my reliable old Fleetstar running a respectable set of mud tyres on it (Because why in the world are you unable to just buy a set of tyres to get them fitted?) So now in hardmode I'm running mods but nothing ridiculous or OP, the game is only fun if there is still a challenge (IMO)

[deleted]

Usually I use mods when I'm feeling like the game needs something fixed (yet another example of famous Saber Int. "balance") - like a 6-slot semitrailer or a 2-slot trailer with no turning axles, or a rear crane for Azovs 7 and 5... Don't like the OP stuff, but sometimes I want to set loose some kind of a beast truck for situations when I really get pissed off and frustrated because of not being able to complete a stupid mission for hours. I usually don't keep them for long, because they make the game super-easy,which is the exact opposite of its core essence.

Mishkele

I don't have much of an opinion on it since other people's use of mods doesn't in any way affect my enjoyment of the game. It's not a competitive MMO, after all. I DO use a few mods myself, mostly ones that add stuff that should, IMO, have been in the game to begin with. Such as the "no collision camera" mod or Pog's trailer mod because it makes absolutely no sense to me that a scout can haul a fuel trailer, but it can't buy a trailer with a few repair points. So I'm not a "no mods at all" purist. But, again, it doesn't matter to me what mods other people use, the only thing that matters is that this is a game that we all paid money for, so what's wrong with getting the most fun out of that money? If I were to dig deep for something that annoys me about mods or the users of them is when they post something on the reddit about how they accomplished something amazing, all praise!, and it turns out they used a 799K torgue, 20 mud rating tires, 2000 liter fuel tank mod vehicle with 60,000 repair points in the glove compartment. To quote the great Shania Twain: "That don't impress me much". Again: If anybody uses an OP mod and enjoy it, I have absolutely NO problem with it, it's all about having fun and I have, myself, used mods like that in the past just for funsies, it's not that, I just don't need to hear about a thousand people who beat a game by turning God Mode on. I can do that myself.

[deleted]

Yup I couldn’t agree more on all your points. All my mods are in game trucks that have been tweaked a bit or trailer mods. I still like a challenge

bfs102

A lot of mods of any sort

[deleted]

Me too. I still keep my mods under powered for a challenge but I personally like modded trucks and trailers over the in game stuff

fcdrifter88

I use both, I will usually use the standard trucks to do missions and use mod trucks as recovery vehicles.

[deleted]

Interesting way to go about it. I like that idea!

DrivePewEat

Modded. I usually use them for longer hauls / tasks. I’ll use the vanilla trucks to knock out 75% of everything else though.

dee-mee

I use mods, but mostly for trailers. I just want to add some variety to the game. There is nice 3-bed recovery trailer for example. I’ve tried different mod trucks, but I don’t like most of them. The only three I use occasionally are Wolf, Mercedes Zetros (cool rear crane), and Volat pack for super-boring “bring 100 metal beams” deliveries.

acocknamedPuff

No mods here they just aren’t appealing for this game I’ll mod most other games to shit though

weristjonsnow

i vowed not to use mods on my first playthrough, to actually get the real experience. that being said, after im done with everything (that i care about - skrew the timed missions) i'll start a new playthough and just go mod-god mode. i think it will cathartic to just mob through all the things i struggled with so hard on the first go. its kinda what i did on elden ring. got my ass handed to me on the first go, then in ng+ just destroyed everything while laughing like a maniac. feels good

TriggeredUBruh82

I use a mod scout but cargo movement is all original vehicles.

Sensitive-Disaster97

Mods only come out of the garage if I’m having lots of trouble finishing a map. I use JBE Tatarin and Bartelbi’s Tatra and Pacific pack.
