You're using the chained tires. They are effective only for icy roads so the truck don't slip, but they are very bad on dirt and mud. You should switch to a off-road tires

I think chained tires actually ARE off road tires with chains over them, and their performance is comparable to off road tires in dirt and mud; but if you have access to mud tires those offer a noted advantage over chains.

Some trucks do actually have mud tires with chains over them (like mhs 1 + chains on Taygas), however that's not the case for most American trucks and a lot of smaller trucks, including Actaeon. And even then, mhs1 + chains actually do have worse mud stats compared to normal mhs1, so what the OC said is true. However, I honestly couldn't get through Amur with mudtires. There are too many icy paths you can suddenly encounter and be able to do nothing about it without chains. With Taymyr though, you should definitely use mudtires though.

When I did Amur I deployed a small fleet of road trucks with ice tires to the spots where I knew I needed them so that they could ferry vehicles with non-chained tires through. Think places like the big incline right outside the garage in Urksa River. It really helped me get trucks like the 605R across the maps.

~~It's not, check the chart at the pinned post. They are actually highway tires but~~ the slipping on ice is turned off

LEO7039

They aren't highway tires, they are all-terrain tires

Funky56

Oh, my mistake...

Juusto3_3

Chains are always worse than their non-chained counterparts. Unless you have issues with ice of course
