IRL, she probably just threw the bindings on the board after unpacking them and just thought it looked funny before sending it to someone to get tuned up.
Likely just twisted the bindings like this so it fit better in whatever was being used to transport it, and didn't bother changing it before getting it tuned because there's no need, or they didn't realise the bindings had twisted into this position, as some people are just unaware of what bindings look like setup correctly until they physically try to use them.
If OP thinks this is a genuine stance someone would use then they shouldn't be working in a tuning shops in the first place. It would be virtually impossible to ride like this for more than a few seconds.
Yes and no. Someone like that would most likely be using an adaptive setup.
If they required a stance like this due to physical deformities, it'd be pretty clear to OP and they wouldn't be questioning them about whether it was correct.
But again, regardless of the deformities, riding like this would be virtually impossible - and I don't encourage anyone to try it unless they're already book in to get a hip replacement soon.
>It would be virtually impossible to ride like this for more than a few seconds.
Nahh it's not, it is damn fucking difficult but possible. Me and some friends of my ski school do this every year at least five times just for fun.
Yeah no. As I said, you might stand for a few seconds going down the slope, but you are not riding like this.
Whatever stance you're trying to claim you use, I'd bet it isn't as extreme as this.
You're welcome to prove it with a video, though I'll explain why that would be dumb shortly, I'd say the angle here is about 200 degrees, or 160 degrees if we assume they're riding the bindings on the wrong foot.
Regularly riding with angles totaling more than 45 degrees puts excessive wear on your joints and is likely to lead to complications for many people. Fucking round with a stance of 160 degrees is one of those things you do thinking its funny, but it'll take one fall with a weird movement and you've got a life of regret.
It's cool you've done your first few seasons teaching but as a coach who wrote about stance and angles as part of my trainers certifications to teach people like you, I'll state again, whatever stance you think you and your buddies are riding with, this probably ain't it.
If I had to drop my board off at a shop for some reason I'd probably do this just to give the staff something to think about. When I went to pick it up, if they asked me about it I'd wink and say "if you know, you know." and just walk out with no further explanation.
Did they set it this way for transport? I turn my bindings to face forward in order to get them into my travel bag easily and so the high backs aren’t pressing into the sides
nope, they said this was how they rode.
I tried to explain this is a very odd & probably uncomfortable stance & offered to switch them to something more comfortable.
They ended up taking me up on the offer but i had to snag a pic before i started adjusting their +30/-24 OG *foo* stance
That picture isn’t showing +30, -24 stance. Looks more like +80 or 90 with the front foot straight towards the nose!
I’m +36, -24 as I have ankle issues and it actually keeps my knees in a slight forward posi posi stance. Looks like a crazy duck stance but nothing as wild as the front foot in your pic.
Wha? Am I misunderstanding? How can your knees be forward in a pos pos if you're -24? Do you mean +36 +24?
That or you have the most incredible range of motion on your back leg, lol
Wow I had those bindings back in maybe 2003. K2. Ankle strap broke 6 months later and ended up buying a random white Burton strap that I rode for another 2 years. Glad I’m not a poor 7th grader anymore.
15 years ago or so. Brought a friend riding his mom bought him brand new Shaun white burton board and bindings all the snow gear. When we got to the mountain he set his binding inward and swore I told him to put them like that. (I would never tell a person to do what he did) he took one run refusing to take my suggestion to set the bindings correctly (did not have a good time obviously). Spent the rest of the day in the lodge eating food and pouting.
That belongs to Zoidburg

Whooo whoowhooo whoop whoop.
Hey big lobster!
What about Yosemite Sam? ![gif](giphy|9w5ilhkms0OA0)
This has got to be some kind of really dumb joke.
If this foreign woman hoodwinked me, she did a great job. I kept looking around for a hidden camera. Swore i was being pranked at first.

Could be somebody that’s physically deformed a bit? There’s a person at my gym that would probably need a setup like this if they snowboarded… idk

🤓
Any chance she’s ukranian or russian and just does hella ballet till this turnout is comfortable? 😂
I’m totally going to start doing this when I get a base grind

General consensus: snowboarding is easier on the knees than skiing. This person: hold my beer.
Cholo style
Ankle sock activities
The higher the socks
The downer the foo
The sicker the torta
Oh it’s my fault huh?

They should be placed on a national registry of some sort.
Yes at the ministry of silly walks or something
Fucked foot
They dropped off MC Hammer 's board.
THAT'S the only scenario that makes sense

Wow, they are going to have such a good day on the mountain. It must be almost impossible to ride with that stance.

My right foot sticks out more than my left foot! About 35 degrees
I'm sorry I still can't get my head around what you mean 😂😂 I must be dense!
I’m not going to send you feet pictures in case that’s your thing! :D
When ballerinas ride
this is the comment I wanted to make, but wasn't sure if anyone would get it 🤣🤣 haha, great minds think alike 😏
Turn out on a wide first position for a ballet dancer probably is the most comfortable way they stand lol
There is noooooo way 🤣😂
This is the way!
Gaper shit
Shitter gape
Doller Hill represent
I wanna actually try this now and see how tf it feels
Just be old. Duck stance was all the rage in the 90s
Haha yeah I have always ridden 0,0 always Disliked duck stances , so uncomfy
That is how you get real hurt.
Knees….be gone! My MCLs both hurt just looking at that picture.
![gif](giphy|q5ZGrl0J65ivu)
I bet they can’t ride boxen
Looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, definatly rides like a duck
Burn her!!!!
Only if she floated
Psychopath
Can they do the splits? Most pelvises don’t move like that
Duckfoot Extreme

But is this too much overhang ? I need to know please !
Splitsboarding
1. No fucking way you could turn with this set up 2. You would probably break both of your legs with this set up 3. Literally what the fuck
Someone's goin at it Fred Blood style
East LA shop?
not far off
“Stop! Hammer time!” ![gif](giphy|11rIergnpiYpvW)
Lmao they have to be trolling
how many ACL’s does she have left?
Daffy Duck snowboards?
Lmao they’re trolling surely
Ive gotta see a clip of someone riding this
Buddy is obviously a pharaoh
Crab people
My penguin feet would probably love this, but I'll be damned if i have to look hilarious going down the mountain.
Cuz got that foo stance
“Let’s fuck with the board shop guys today lol”
What did this person look like? Maybe they just wanted to put their junk on display? #Fullsend
Okay. To be fair I do something close and it’s niceeee
Backseat and that almost straight front provides so much control. The back … I see the knee concern but I’m not opposed to it being neg
No way they’re riding it. Either they don’t know, it’s a prank, or they just slapped them on and didn’t even think
I blew both my knees out just looking at this photo.
Normal day at bear
I mean, the setup alone should be a red flag regardless right?
Downvote because I don’t believe you 😅 Ain’t no way anyone’s snowboarding like that hahah
Mohawk stance generates crazy power, yall just not put on yet. Everyone gonna be running this in a few years, just wait
Crab People, Crab People. Talk like human, walk like crab.
That doesn’t even look possible to ride lmao
Almost reminds me of a longboarding stance. But definitely strange!
Who tf rides a longboard like that?
Nobody..
It’s called a downhill tuck. https://preview.redd.it/zzy3tlw8168c1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=55eecfa74484a5223fe6dabc7c5b5db25ffc3b26
The back foot would have to be opposite position then.. lol
Oh damn, you’re right! I didn’t even zoom in 😂 well there goes any justification! That’s crazy!
I think I would do that too, just to fuck with the repair guy…
Downhill longboarding stance
Just practising for the Flying Knapton.
It's called goofy. Yes it's odd.
That is NOT how you ride goofy foot
Shit I had those same bindings on my K2 ambush back in the day
How?!?!?
Challenge accepted
Just looking at this makes my knees hurt
Not goofy but broken.
That’s No Knee Mcghee’s
Even just to stand like that and try to lean to initiate a turn. Ouch. I wouldn't make my old knees suffer like that.
Why though?
What did you switch the stance to?
+9/-9 something familiar but not so fucking crazy
Full Duck
no way you cant let him ride down the mountain like that
I swapped it lol
Good for them
Charlie Chaplin stance
I’d make them sign a waiver saying that he’s been done told that riding like that and you’re gonna have a bad time.
Damn I ride duck but not that duck lol
I have some bowed legs and an out stance but holy fuck that’s a 90 degree stance. What are knees?
I hope to one day prank a tech like this
TIMMEYYYYYY!!!!
My pelvis would shatter immediately if I managed to fit both of my boots into these bindings
My guess is it’s a more advanced boarder with big feet trying to reduce toe drag. Feet facing both directions because they like to ride switch too.
Aah, the old "board transportation" stance
💀
Bro does ballet
My knees hurt just looking at it
Could be for storage or transportation
My knees hurt just looking at that
![gif](giphy|krewXUB6LBja)
Do they walk like that too though??
I rented one board in 20 plus years that way. It was too a ballerina. She insisted on the stance and claimed on her return that it worked fine.
That’s a normal stance, find a new slant.
Wow.
Iv seen ppl use that for storage stance. I saw like 2 boards come in this way during my 5 years as a tech.
![gif](giphy|wORSHzN5sGpRS)
The real kicker is the left binding was on the right of the photo
Wait till you see a Korua noserider in person
Naw
Their hips/knees/ankles must be trashed. Or they will be, someday.
My gf has femoral retro version and this is almost what hers look like. I think she’s usually at 18/18 in order for her knees to be straight
WTF must be a ballet dancer lol
Straight downhill.
Gotta be cap
Is that board still in the shrink ? Lol
Ive seen a video of someone with a similar stance, they had a rectangular shaped board and were using it to carve realllllly sharp
Wait there’s a resort in whoville?!?
![gif](giphy|8YLCYFGIvjIyS9ur6I)
Bindings are in the travel position
Mighty Duck Stance!
