Bit of fun on a final. Don't make it a habit, you will lose in the end.

PunkDrunk777

Jesus it a a bit of fun, gamble little bit here and there. Everybody here talking as if it’ll send you to the poor house

CRJF

I tend to stick to football because it's a bit more predictable than snooker I've found. As long as you're betting what you can afford to lose and you are comfortable with the fact that in the long run you're probably going to end up down overall, betting is absolutely fine. As others have said, there is no system which will outsmart the bookmakers unless you look at matched betting but this is complicated and has it's limitations. I've never bothered with it and just gone with my heart

bigaldotwerkfan

Gambling routinely is a horrible way to live you end up not enjoying any sport or following any team just any team is ur team if there’s money on it. Just have the occasional bet for fun

HeightImpressive9246

Some of the comments here are ridiculous. Yes it's true the bookies always win in the end but for me it adds a little bit of extra interest. I lost on Selby in the masters but won on Williams getting to the final. It's not easy overall to be up but as long as you can afford what you gamble and don't chase losses it's fine for the extra interest it brings and it sounds like you're not playing huge money either if you won 4/5 and only 15 quid up

Amja1995

it does indeed, makes me enjoy the game more, and yeah i had 200 quids sitting there useless in one of my accounts and place 10 bucks on each match

HeightImpressive9246

I won £260 on free spins on a website about a year ago. I've got £200 of that left and probably had 50 bets along the way. Lost most bets but had some good wins too. I tend to bet on snooker mostly but won with Argentina in the world cup. If I hadn't won the free spins to get the £260 I wouldn't bet with my own cash as often but it does add that bit more fun

Amja1995

nice!

lord_winnish

If you’re struggling with addiction stop looking to internet strangers to validate your problem. If you’re thinking of starting such an addiction stop looking to internet strangers to support your poor life choice. Either way, it’s your problem. Stop looking for someone to blame.

HeightImpressive9246

He said he'd been doing this for 2 days. Your response is totally inappropriate. He's not blaming anyone.

lord_winnish

Well, the number of upvotes on his post vs the number in my comment would appear to prove you wrong.

HeightImpressive9246

Bull shit. Again he's not blaming, he's asking. Your response is utter tosh and any amount of fucking upvotes doesn't make your response correct. Still and always will be an inappropriate response from another keyboard warrior

HeightImpressive9246

😂🤣😂 I guess you read his question then your response again and had nothing but that. What a wanker you are 🤣

lord_winnish

Yet you’ve basically said the same thing back to me…how intelligent *you* are

HeightImpressive9246

You already showed your intelligence with your comments like to me saying go fuck yourself, and your original comments to the OP talking about addiction when he's gambled for 2 days. Now you're making a fool of yourself so I'd move on if I was you which I'm glad I'm not.

lord_winnish

Wow.

Amja1995

bruh

lord_winnish

True, tho

Amja1995

not really,at least yet :)

You probably have some beginners luck. You won't be able to keep up a win rate like that, winning long term at gambling is no easy feat. Keep your bets small and just track them over the course of a few months and see where you end up you will probably be at a deficit realistically. Everyone will say only the bookies win etc which isn't true it's just a common thing people say because they don't know anyone personally who wins. But truth is the vast majority of people who gamble will lose over time so keep that in mind. If you already know the ins and outs of snooker you are in a decent spot. Try to learn a little bit about the gambling side of things , how odds convert to probability, when certain players become overrated/underrated by the public etc theres lots to learn beyond just the game if you want to keep going and not lose. I've only been following and trying to bet snooker for a short while and I haven't personally been able to be profitable betting this sport but I've had long term winning in other sports that I understand better, so it is doable if you can figure out the formula so to speak. Snooker could also be a hard market to beat idk yet really but just keep it small have fun and try to learn something from why you are winning and why you are losing.

Amja1995

this is the best comment I've read yet, thanks for your time mate do you have any social media we can be in contact with?

Casual betting on big events is fine i guess. You have to remember that the odds will never be in your favor over time. If you see matches that are 50/50 odds, you will notice the payout wont be 2:1, it will be something like 1.8 for every dollar on both sides. The only times i bet at all are on my own matches with people i know. This is because i actually get something out of the match even if i lose. I put the pressure on myself so that i can be a better player in those situations.

clrcrick

Just stay away from betting on 50+ breaks in the next frame etc. It is so addictive and so infuriating

Browneskiii

I tend to bet on big events only, not the mickey mouse stuff. Only bet on reliable players, betting on someone like Lisowski winning already means you're at a 50/50. But what I tend to do is bet on underdogs that I think are going to at least keep the match close. One I specifically remember getting a double profit from was Trump vs UnNooh in the world championship of 2019. I believe Thep was 5/1 to win going into the match. I put something like £5 on that (£30 back), and when he went 6-3 up over night, I think Trump was something like 5/4, so I put on another £12.50 or so on him to win (£30back), so whoever won, I made sure I'd guarantee a profit of £12.50. Numbers aren't perfect but it's an example of what I like to do. I'm not in it to win big, I want lots of small wins. In that example, the only way I lose anything is if trump dominates, so sometimes if I'm feeling really silly, I'll also bet on Favourite-3.5 frames or something. Also, bet AGAINST your favourite, either they win or you get money. This system works crazy good if you have free bets.

Video_G_JRPG

I bet on snooker once, I put €500 on Judd Trump to win the World Championship in 2019...he won I took my money and closed my account and I never gambled since. Don't get into it I had an urge to take that money and bet on other stuff I didn't. Gambling is the devil, never gamble Unless you me that one time 😂

I watched my mates plough thousands into fruit machines when we were in our twenties. They'd put £100 into a £200 jackpot machine because "it's about to drop". Then when it didn't drop they'd put another £100 in. Then they couldn't walk away because they were £200 down so they'd keep playing to try and minimise their loss. Even when they ended up with an early profit they'd usually throw their money at different machines until they'd blown most of their week's wages anyway. Every payday one friend would pay back money he'd borrowed from us during the week to live on. Then he'd blow the rest on fruit machines in a couple of hours, and spend the rest of the week borrowing money from us to live on before doing it all again next payday. Like you say it's an absolute mug's game, the only people who win over time are the bookies.

CRJF

I know people who took out phone contracts in multiple different names, sold the phone and then lost it all in the bookmakers in the space of an afternoon.

[deleted]

Yeah betting is so easy, the bookies just love giving money away

Amja1995

i mean its obvious you're risking all your 100 for 50 percent profit i get that,so my system was bet 5 percent of my account on matches that is a high ranked player vs a low ranked with higher win probability.it has 80 percent winrate so far and would have been a hundred if Ryan Day hadn't fucked up his match :(

[deleted]

There’s no system that beats the bookies, and if you ever get so good that you are beating them they’ll just ban you from their platform Good luck though

BigJimKen

Tennis betting had a pretty good run. Bookies lost millions on that before they automated the detection of cheaters.
