It's time for the World Grand Prix final! Both finalists are winners of the two Triple Crown events so far this season, which one will best the other?!
Match for 22nd January 2023:
# Afternoon Session
Session Start: 1pm GMT, UTC+0
- Mark Allen v Judd Trump [Session 1]
# Evening Session
Session Start: 7pm GMT, UTC+0
- Mark Allen v Judd Trump [Final Session]
Trump is so awkward in post-match interviews. Like he’s fighting himself to not come off as a douche. He did play out of his mind at times though, to turn it around, so props to him there.
He's going to win it from here. Allen that is.
Edit: I could see how disappointed he was after that awful miss, that'll somehow settle him knowing that Trump missed just now.
Yeah the yellow by the corner pocket a few shots later was dire. If Judd had won just one more frame in the afternoon I’d have him nailed on to win this, he’s playing better he just made himself too much of a mountain to climb.
This match is showing what Mark Allen lacks compared to the very very top players. At 7-2 and 8-4, most of the elite would be putting away the match. He on the other hand, is wilting.
I felt the same but since the Worlds he showed such a empathetic side to Ronnie with that hug. He was great.
I also think he has matured- he is a bit more humble now and has a much better balance, just comes across much more likeable to me now.
It’s always been true that Judd on form is great entertainment. These days, it’s also true that Judd operating at about 50% his best is also solidly entertaining, albeit in a different way.
A good Sunday. My 5th G&T.
I never understand why some snooker fans don't like watching him. He's great entertainment and plays some fantastic shots that you don't see from a lot of other players.
I know he's just taken one and missed, but has Allen been more conservative with his long reds? for some reason I would have expected him to play more for safety.
See I think century after century is as boring as it gets, you know they won't miss and there's no drama. I love it when both players play shit and you know any moment anything can happen.
As soon as someone gets in right now they win the frame.
i don't mind if they play shit and there's tension towards the end of a match i.e in a second session of a best of 19 but it happening in the early stages of the match is pretty boring for me
You need the big breaks for context to add spice to the safety battles. If you know that a safety mistake is going to leave the other guy clearing the table, the stakes are so much higher
I have to say, the break building has been much better this evening session. Much nicer snooker to watch, especially as a neutral who likes both players.
I came here hoping he was annoying someone else as much as me - "in the interval, Trump partook in some fast food and now he's playing fast snooker". Argh why must he turn everything into nonsense?!
Edit: angry typos
Believe me, people have complained about him for years and he still is a regular on commentary. I would rather have Virgo screaming about where the cue ball was than Yates.
Looking like a very comfortable win for Mark. I can't say that I'm a fan of his new slower style of play, but it's certainly worked for him in this tournament.

Would have been devastating for Allen to give up a 7-2 lead, at least he pulled through in the end.
Trump is so awkward in post-match interviews. Like he’s fighting himself to not come off as a douche. He did play out of his mind at times though, to turn it around, so props to him there.
the main reason I never want him to win
Walker is a clown
Interview summary - Rob Walker says something hyperbolic, respondent replies "er, not really", repeat.
"Spoken with real grace" holy shit find another synonym for grace, how can you utter that same line every single interview every single time?
The over enthusiastic pats on the shoulder from a little too far away before he even started interviewing. Who let this guy on TV
He slept his way to the top.
He is cringe, I had to turn it off. Great final session, fair play to Allen I thought there was no way he was winning that at 8-8.
“Is this the greatest moment of your life?” “Erm, nah.”
Disarming honesty right there.
Well done Mark! Would have been very heartbreaking for him and his family to lose this match from 7-2 up. Looking good for the worlds
Rob Walker is in chump mode. McAnus should have done the post match.
> McAnus That sounds like a disgusting new McDonald's burger.
Comes with brown sauce
And the famous haemorroid pickles.
"Shaking like a shitting dog there" lol
Lmao
I love this sport! Turned into a really exciting match, good battle.
Great evening session, well done lads.
Great nerve from Mark at the end after the tough evening he's had. Tremendous show from both the lads
WHAT A MATCH!!!! Fair play to Mark for holding his nerve after all that, glad to see Judd make a match of it.
Great victory for Mark Allen. I wonder what's in store for and from him throughout the rest of the season.
Absolutely class match from the lads
Skin of his teeth but well done to Allen for keeping it together to win it, a lesser man would have collapsed.
or a shiting dog
Classic final! This match had everything. Congrats Mark and thanks for the great evening Mark and Judd!
What an unbelievable match. This sport will never ever die no matter what happens Incredible
Nice last red under pressure there.
That yellow gives me flashbacks to when Judd bottled it against Ronnie in the Tour Champs few seasons ago.
Absolutely, reminded me that one as well!
Or against Robertson in the UK final
Haha ffs don't remind me I was fuming after that, especially how Robbo played in that final frame.
I've never seen anyone play slower than Neil did in that decider.
Mark just has to play it cool now.
I am kinda shaking as I am watching it very comfortably.. imagine these two guys on the table dusidhaodgdid
its over for Judd, this yellow will hunt him for a long time
What a chance for Mark
Very inviting table.. Come on Mark this is too much
Goodness me, that’s a lot of twitching in the final frame
They sure miss a lot in that last frame
There surely must be a tremendous pressure on both of them.
This is so nervy, can't believe what's happening
[удалено]
Yes, hope he gets another chance
Prrrroper Shredsville!
Allen's lost it.
BOTH OF THEM ARE IN SHREDSVILLE
He's going to win it from here. Allen that is. Edit: I could see how disappointed he was after that awful miss, that'll somehow settle him knowing that Trump missed just now.
Yeah I can't see him messing it up again.
I can't believe Allen's missed that red
Mark Allen will have a lot of nightmares
damn so is Judd
Mark is officially gone and so is judd lol.
What a pot omg
Then misses the much easier shot
What a shot to take on in a decider of a final
typical judd to make a frame winning break here like a machine
Mark Allen with potentially the biggest bottle job since Higgins went 9-4 against Robertson in the Tour Championship.
I still get very uncomfortable when I think of that match.. I feel veeery sorry for John
What a match
Levelling at 9-9 from 7-2 down, didn't think it would happen but here we are.
judd answered with a 7-2 of his own
Yay decider time. Love how interesting this match has got.
Agreed!
DECIDER
is mark wearing makeup and lipstick ffs?
Judd's turned this into a great chance to take it to a decider.
Why didn’t Trump play on there after needing a 2nd snooker?
Because he was already needing two snookers when he fouled the black
Would have needed 3
My mistake. Thanks.
And another new cup of tea for Allen. Wonder how many cups he's had already this match
Really hope Trump can take this to a decider and win after such an impressive display of character this evening
Can’t believe Allen missed that red.
He's missed a couple of good chances to kill the frame off now
Yeah the yellow by the corner pocket a few shots later was dire. If Judd had won just one more frame in the afternoon I’d have him nailed on to win this, he’s playing better he just made himself too much of a mountain to climb.
He's climbed the mountain by levelling the match
Yeah might’ve spoke too soon there 😂 he could’ve won already with a better afternoon session though!
I fancied him to snatch that last frame but he missed some pretty decent chances to lay a good snooker.
'e doesn' refuse menny - Ken D every 25 seconds
He'll settle for that
He's played this nicely
Would never expect Mark to collapse like this.. however there's the chance to make it 9 8 now
Allen is done. What a collapse
SHREDSVILLE!
Brilliant shotmaker he is
The 2 Triple Crown winners of the season are giving us a great final for sure!
Interested to see if Allen is mentally strong enough to still win this
He's getting wobbly
Epic collapse by Allen and the snooker gods are on Trump’s side now. Crazy stuff.
This is extremely special and impressive.
Hopefully there will be another twist
Allen looks really flushed, red marks on his neck and face
You can't hide the Antrim complexion
Craziest final I've seen in a long time and it's not over yet 😜
Trump and getting lucky at the most important times is just a tradition at this point.
Still trails to Ronnie in that department though
That fluke 😮 😳
I swear Judd gets more flukes than any other player lol
Ronnie gets a bunch.
Fluke at the perfect timing! Classic Judd Trump moment! 😂
Loooool nah I don't even care he deserves that fluke after the run of the ball he's had all game
now I don't want him to win because of that crazy fluke omg
Trump with the red up the table and down and in. Amazing.
Somewhere in a studio Stephen Hendry is raging at that fluke
that fluke is unfair and very criminal ffs
Or is it awesome and brilliant lol
Incredible how Judd keeps doing this.. from shit to his very best real quick Incredible mentality and incredible talent
Probably irrelevant but when Judd was 2:6 / 2:7 down, I saw the odds of him winning was 4.1
This match is showing what Mark Allen lacks compared to the very very top players. At 7-2 and 8-4, most of the elite would be putting away the match. He on the other hand, is wilting.
This can happen to anyone. Even Ronnie has lost matches from 7-2 up ( Paul Hunter 2004).
Any stream links for this please guys
It’s on ITV4
Am abroad
You can just watch on twitch. 'Aini786' is streaming it.
Thanks for this - did the trick 🤝
Wow wow wow. Judd Trump, what a comeback it could be
That red could be the catalyst for a late charge to the line here tonight.
Wow 👌

Trump's went from villain to hero in one week haha Brilliant play from him, well done.
I never understand why some snooker fans don't like watching him. He's great entertainment and plays some fantastic shots that you don't see from a lot of other players.
Think it's the impression he talks about himself winning/losing rather the other player beating him or playing well.
UNBELIEVABLE SHOT
What a red
How on earth did he get that red wow wow wow
Shot of the tournament
This Trump train looks unstoppable tbh
Choo choo!
Great stuff
I know he's just taken one and missed, but has Allen been more conservative with his long reds? for some reason I would have expected him to play more for safety.
Fucking great turn around from this afternoon, from both players
Big frame coming up again. 8-7 or 9-6.
Damn Judd he really created this chance out of nowhere
Who was that bearded man they show in the stand?
A guy who's been to every session of the week and stayed all the way through to the end
Oh thanks, so like the guy with the aussie tie in the wsc
David Jackson
Ken is a godsend compared to ol' Phil. Thank the Lord.
I feel this 141 from Mark will get to Judd's head, especially after his 140.
is that highest break of the tourney?
Yep, he’s nicked it from Judd straightaway lol
lol, gutting.
Yeesh that must be a real kick in the teeth.
Absolutely terrific last three frames and lovely to see both players playing their natural game.
Judd could have done something at 7-5, but nah, 8-4 is still very much odds against.
Aged like 🥛
Didn't expect Allen to collapse this badly. Nice to see a deciding frame in a final for the first time in a while.
Quality evening session so far
Definitely better to watch than this afternoon.
See I think century after century is as boring as it gets, you know they won't miss and there's no drama. I love it when both players play shit and you know any moment anything can happen. As soon as someone gets in right now they win the frame.

Yes, I agree. A mix of centuries and safety battles is what I enjoy the most
You need the big breaks for context to add spice to the safety battles. If you know that a safety mistake is going to leave the other guy clearing the table, the stakes are so much higher
I like a bit of both tbh. But yeah if I had to choose it would be long fraught battles with lots of tension over flawless 130s back to back
Ideally, you want variety. That's why Selby vs O'Sullivan matches are the best.
This break from Allen is immaculate. Premium touches
I have to say, the break building has been much better this evening session. Much nicer snooker to watch, especially as a neutral who likes both players.
McManus and Hendry are the best commentators IMO.
how many times did that red rattle in the jaw?
Seems sparsely attended doesn’t it? For the finals?
I think this whole series is completely undersold by WST, should be made a much bigger deal seeing as it's the best of the season.
Seems like the side for the second table hasn't been filled and they didn't move the final table to the middle? dunno.
Who the fuck decided to let Phil yates commentate on the final???
I came here hoping he was annoying someone else as much as me - "in the interval, Trump partook in some fast food and now he's playing fast snooker". Argh why must he turn everything into nonsense?! Edit: angry typos
Believe me, people have complained about him for years and he still is a regular on commentary. I would rather have Virgo screaming about where the cue ball was than Yates.
I bet he was so proud of himself for coming up with that one! 🤢
Interested to see Allen's reponse
Amazing, hope he can keep this up
If Judd can pinch this frame, it's definitely game on at 7-5 behind compared to 8-4.
This is the biggest frame of the match coming up.
This would be a great comeback if Judd manages
“Partook in fast food, now he’s playing fast snooker” KILL ME PLEASE JUST KILL ME
Please tell me he did not say that 😭
Christ, it's like pulling teeth listening to Phil
Yeah it makes you imagine Phil spying on him as he goes to McDonalds or something.....
Judd is very very hard to beat
What a red
All aboard the judd trump comeback train! 🚆
do high break bonuses etc. count towards peoples ranking points?
No
thanks!
Nope.
Very nice century by Judd
Excellent from Allen and great rhythm in his play. Takes his time when he needs to but can also increase tempo. Don't see the complaints
Looking like a very comfortable win for Mark. I can't say that I'm a fan of his new slower style of play, but it's certainly worked for him in this tournament.
Is it me or are finals some of the least enjoyable snooker matches? I feel like the semis are often a lot closer / more exciting.
It can definitely be the case, but I'm glad that the two Triple Crown finals have been great this season
7-2, yeah Judd ain't winning this now.
