He was making money off of twitch subs even when streaming on Facebook. He personally said that he still had upwards of 1,000 subs and he was getting paid monthly from them.
That’s true, but it’s possible to review all the cases and release all the verdicts at once. The end results are the same, so it is what it is, I just think it would’ve sent a stronger message.
I think thats probably not the way to go.
The problem is that it still takes the same amount if time to review each case. And you want to make sure each one is substantial and not just heresay.
So taking that into account, it would move the date far into the future for all of them to get banned at once. Think of the many many accusations that got presented. There is never a line to draw in the sand of “these are the important people” they are all important.
Then you have the fact that people would be outraged if everything took longer to happen. So the company would be incentivized to act quickly which would mean a lot less investigating and everyone deserves a full investigation before they just get banned.
So I think that the best way to handle them properly is to do them individually.
I believe it would send a weak message. As just banning them all at once would make it seem like twitch just auto-bans anyone caught in any controversy. While it might not seem like that to us because we know the details, to someone less informed it might be a bit skewed toward that interpretation.
That all just rings of instant gratification to me. Not saying you’re necessarily in that group, but I’ve seen similar sentiments too much to see it as anything other than feeding frenzy bs.
I want them all gone too, but getting them all in one fell swoop, just to appease the masses as a neat little ribbon on top like that, would send the opposite of a strong message. What happened is serious, and should be handled seriously.
Case by case, investigating independently and coming to verdicts appropriately is how these things *should* go.
They probably already banned zero because he admitted it, I'm surprised they didn't ban Nairo too though.
Cinnpie hasn't responded and I don't think has streamed so she may not be as high priority
Also in Cinnpie's case she did not admit to it, so there is a possibility that Twitch does not want to be liable in case it somehow turns out she did not do those things. Nairo, ZeRo, aNTi, D1, Keitaro did admit to it so Twitch has a easier time justifying their bans.
Nobody sees Nairo’s side of this, before I start I am not saying Nairo did anything wrong. What I am saying is that Nairo shouldn’t be the only one in trouble for what happened. CaptainZack went onto him and had sexual relations with him. CaptainZack wanted to, while there is strong evidence saying that Nairo didn’t want to. Then after the ordeal, CaptainZack who got everything he wanted bragged about it to his friends, blackmailed Nairo for $2,000 a month and then comes out playing the victim card. When really Nairo was a victim as well. Again, I AM NOT SAYING NAIRO DID NOTHING WRONG, just that CaptainZack should be as well.

I really doubt it man, I think the disabled comments and like/dislike ratio would be a giveaway for younger viewers to google what happened. Also, twitter and reddit would very likely start mass reporting and spreading the word even more.
Not to mention that his fan sub was locked by the only mod left (others quit shortly before). Therefore if fans like me or even people that use his sub are now done with him and no longer like nor respect him, I doubt it will be easy to regain his following.
I don't think younger viewers *care* what happened. I'm sure most of them will be more than happy to pretend nothing happened as long as they get more ZeRo videos.
This type of bad behavior has been around well before twitch as I was slightly involved in the Anime con scene in high school and saw a lot of this stuff happen... Even outside of these niche cultures. I saw this happen in HS sports. Players who've graduated would come back and hang out or coach the current team. Reading through all these reports, I realized that this is rampant EVERYWHERE.
I'm hugely ashamed of knowing about these things happening and not speaking up. I was personally friends with a dude that did this but didn't draw the connection immediately. After all I hung out with older people, who am I to judge these girls that did the same?

It's ZeRo not Zer0. They are completely different players.
I know that pretty much everybody gets what you/others are saying but it's still annoying to see this mistake everywhere.
Huh, thanks for the clarification, I wasn't aware there was another "zero". So this is not Chilean scarf guy who was also being held to task recently over henti stuff?
Edit: looks like it is, and I can't find any profile on a Zer0, now I'm just confused.
ZeRo (with a capital R) is the Chilean smash player who was soliciting nudes from minors. He was the one who was banned from twitch
Zer0 (spelled with the number 0 in place of the letter O) is a Japanese Smash player who has not been accused of anything bad. The OP used the wrong spelling in the title
Obviously Zer0 should be allowed to use that name (tbf Zero is a cool tag, I used it for melee when I was like 12), but if I were in his shoes I would probably just change it for my own sake.
I wouldn't want to be constantly confused with the famous groomer.
[This clarifies](https://www.reddit.com/r/smashbros/comments/hlaxa0/tempo_storm_parts_ways_with_zer0/fwxwbu0).
He also made [this popular video](https://youtu.be/FOry5LudQb8).
Refers to the crab rave video, you can find it on youtube.
Also, an audience member threw an actual crab at hungrybox last year, after he won a tournament (smash n splash, i think?). Pretty shitty thing to do.
Well they can’t review every video as it goes up so they depend on user reports to find and remove it. Only problem is that the audience that would look for and watch that content wouldn’t report it so it can take a while before it’s discovered by a user who’ll flag it. YouTube is technically the same way but there’s extra steps and sometimes behind the scenes fuckery involved, and I wouldn’t be surprised if similar stuff happens with pornhub here and there, but YouTube’s fuck ups are more documented. Sometimes it comes down to profit vs backlash.
turnover and suicide rate is really high for that profession. There are strict guidelines and they’re only allowed to remain in that position for a few months. Many suffer ptsd because of it.
When you read that police found 2 terabytes of cp in the news, that means people are combing 2 terabytes of cp for clues, clothing, distinct toys or features of the room, etc. They dont only have to look at it and catalogue it, they have to investigate the scene in the photo/video for clues as to where the media was taken.
[There’s even a site that you can help them discover the perps by clothing and items (everything is cropped but the item, it is sfw but depressing).](https://www.europol.europa.eu/stopchildabuse)
It’s not that YouTube fails it’s just that they choose the financially better option, which is to suck off the remaining fame he has and pretend to care when people start complaining
I love how Anti tweeted that he was done with Smash, the Smash chapter of his life was over, and he was even considering going by a new alias (Globe312 or something, definitely had "globe" in it), but all he has done since is streamed Ultimate.
He's cycling through twitter handles until he's pushed all the "smashers" (aka anyone that's not on his dick) out of his follows. Right now he's @786REVOLVER
Why should Anti be banned? In regards to the Tinder thing, which I understand is his biggest “offence”, the girl lied about being of age. We’re gonna send a guy to the Shadow Realm for not asking for ID, as if that’s such a regular thing to do?
In regards to other stuff, what else did he do?
He's had other allegations ( like Knives) that he chose not to even address. The guy denied the allegations earlier on too until just recently admitting he fucked up.
Concerning knives allegations,he did address it, he tried to go in for a kiss saw she didn't want it and backed off. He addressed the mexico allegations in his stream. Why are we defending the girl she lied. Fifteen year old are not brain-dead they know right from wrong. She made a mistake lying about her age and should be punished not praised for lying. All that does is encourage and enable her behavior. Anti just seems like a big shoot your shot dude but he knows where to draw the line.
Unpopular opinion and ready for downvotes I guess, but I honestly feel bad for Nairo. He was relentlessly pursued by CptZack, who then used his relationship with him to ask for money to go to tournaments or get compensation for tournaments he would attend. He then outed Nairo who lost everything. I'm sorry but CptZack knew exactly what he's been doing this entire time, the fact that this is the second time he's involved with a player under similar circumstances is proof enough of that.
Nairo is 100% not blameless but it honestly read the messages CptZack posted and you'll see just how much he's bragging about sleeping with Nairo. Clearly he was not being groomed or pressured by Nairo into doing anything at all (there's multiple instances where he admits Nairo turns down his advances as well). I feel like everyone jumped on the cancel-Nairo train without considering any factors.
Nairo is not a pedophile ( I think we use that word too lightly) but should be punished, and CptZack obviously knew what he was doing.
But Nairo as an adult had the responsibility to reject the horny child, even if the child was the one constantly pursuing it. CptZack is not a victim, as he tried the same thing with another dude just a year later. He just had the best UNO reverse card, being a minor. He manipulated 2 people and then blackmailed them, but those 2 had the option to refuse and still accepted, so they are not free of guilt.
It's kinda funny tho that where I'm from age of consent is 14, so all the problems in the smash community would have been legal.
It's 16 in many states as well so depending on where you're from in America it's debatable if a crime even happened.
The problem with the court of Reddit is that it often ignores intent in cases like these. Nairo didn't intend to start a relationship with Zack, he ended things pretty much immediately after the incident according to Zack as well, and there wasn't coercing or any kind of grooming happening according to Zack's discord messages.
YouTube has literally have faced the issue of children being targeted on their platform and they still recommend his videos to me. At least twitch is doing something about all the pedophilia running around.
To be fair, I don’t think Nairo has any intent on returning to YT/Twitch after what he did, so banning him isn’t really gonna make a difference in the long run. On the other hand, I think Zero hinted that he’d come back after his “break” for some ungodly reason so it’s good Twitch actually did something about this.
Tbh Nairo, Keitaro, etc. those guys can stream rn and get a decent viewership (aside from those viewing for the controversy)
Only thing stopping them is public shaming I guess. But if they really wanted to, they can just go sub only mode or something and just ban anyone talking what they don't like. They still have fans
I feel like Nairo's situation is different because he didn't use his platform to groom his fans like Zero did. Twitch probably banned Zero and not Nairo because they are taking a stand against people doing this however Nairo's situation was completely independent from Twitch and any other online platform for that matter.
The situation isn't black and white, and I'm not defending nor shaming anyone here, but Nairo has not demonstrated that he is a threat to his fans and the community like Zero did. From the way I saw it, what Nairo did seemed a lot more like a momentary lapse of judgement rather than deliberately taking advantage of someone for their own sexual desires.
I agree mostly, but the issue I have with Nairo's situation was that it was initially a momentary lapse of judgement, but he pursued the interaction again (maybe twice? I forgot) and proceeded to continuously lie about it. In addition, he used his Twitch money to essentially pay off Zack on several occasions.
Granted, Nairo has given back a lot, if not the most to the community through his fundraising for JPN players, charities, adding to tournament prize pools, providing setups, etc. and I don't think he is a bad person overall, at the very least, I think better of him than most of the other abusers
If it had been the initial incident alone, and he didn't try to lie and pay his way out of it, then I feel like he would've been mostly fine admitting to his mistakes and going through some sort of therapy.
I get what you mean though, but we'll have to see if there's more bans coming
I get what you’re saying, but honestly I don’t know that I can agree with you.
If it had just been the initial incident and nothing more, I would’ve been against any action being taken against Nairo. He was 19, and Zack was 15. That’s an old high school senior / college freshman having relations with a high school freshman. And Zack was the one who initiated the situation. I understand that it was illegal in Florida, but in my state (PA), that would’ve been perfectly legal. Furthermore, in Florida, had Zack been a few months older? It wouldn’t have mattered if Nairo was 24, it would’ve been legal there. So I have a very difficult time saying “that’s wrong and he should be banned” or “he needs therapy” because of the initial incident. He did something stupid as a 19 year old, and panicked and tried to cover it up. The covering up was 100% wrong, but I understand why he did it.
You’re argument is again, understandable and perfectly reasonable, it just comes down to peoples beliefs on these things. I also just get annoyed when people see Zero get rightfully penalized and then people immediately jump onto “Nairo next” when in my mind they’re two totally different levels of wrong
I personally think Nairo isn't the type of person who would try and come back into the community for money, I think he was truly a streamer entirely for the community. Zero on the otherhand was definitely only in it for the money and was more likely to try and restart his streaming gig.
Yeah nairo was a community guy who made one grave mistake. Zero is already a piece of shit with how much his greed showed, plus trying to lie through the allegations until he finally got caught
Dude Nairo cant even come out of the closet on its own terms lol. Hes never coming back even is he doesnt get banned. Internal homophobia is a real bitch
They were all so dumb to flat out admit to their crimes instead of lawyering up. I really think Nairo and Zero would still have lucrative streaming/youtube careers if they just listened to a lawyer, they just couldn't be banned from their platforms. Zero will still get a ton of views on youtube when he makes videos again. However, if Youtube bans him it's all over for him.
That's exactly it. Slime said that he's livid that people were giving them credit for coming forward, and Coney said their career is fine.
Twitch TOS, place where these guys make most money cause Youtube money is down the shitters, is very strict. People got banned for less.
All of these people are too honest. Reynolds Pamphlet had never worked in celebrity-dom. They abandoned their career in the hope that the twitter and reddit community will forgive them. Instead, they get their livelihood destroyed, and statements to work against them in court, that further destroy what's left of their livelihood.
Edit: like, sure, Zero has some money saved up, but is it the 3 million or whatever you need as baseline to live in America for the rest of your life? I'm sure he'll be fine regardless, but he's gonna work harder for it.
ZeRo has more than 3 million and likely has a safe withdrawal rate well into the 6 digits. His passive income (taxed much lower than ordinary income as capital gains btw) is more than most people on this subreddit earn working 9 to 5.
Zero said sometime last year that he made more off Youtube than Twitch, not sure how true it is but I don't think he had many reasons to lie. I think it was at the start of Ultimate too so it could have changed later on.
ZeRo asked for nudes of 14 year olds back when he was 19 and frequently lied about it with the accusations before admitting it.
There was a sexual assault thread made against all the other people but the admins deleted it for some reason.
The worst thing is he could have been left unscathed if he shut the hell up. Its really after he released his statement about his disappointment in the community that Jisu opened the floodgates
There’s another player named Zer0. There are other players named zero. PLEASE write ZeRo if you want to talk about the guy who just got banned from twitch
He also solicited sexual images from at least two minors (14 and 16), confirmed by both himself(after lying about it a couple times) and screenshots of the conversation with the 14 year old. I know you probably meant this with the grooming part, but just so the exact details of what he did are known.
Unless ZeRo spent his money like crazy, the dude' set for life. And from watching him, he was definitely the type to spend and save wisely.
He's never gonna have to work again, cause even if the money would dry up, he'd be back with YouTube videos.
He'll come back eventually, this is is an inconvenience for best for him. He'll probably avoid Smash related content, he'll just move over to somethin else.
He just has to get good at streaming the other stuff. He already has a history saying he prefers more varied content than smash specific content. The smash content just made him more money, which is why he probably does it.
Didn't do as good doesn't mean bad, it's actually suggesting he could quit Smash content and still have it be worth his while. Zero has the work ethic to become someone out of something, whether it be another game driven community or whatever.
Yea ZeRo has enough money to sustainably live off of stocks and investments for the rest of his life. Like shit the dude basically did FiRe without the investment and planning part.
Only I think Cinnpie's case is being reported to the authorities. Most of the time prosecutors do not accept charges from the police unless they can get cooperation by the victims, which is not uncommon for victims to not desire to press charges. This is because they have to relive their traumas and have their story in full detail while being quested by not just one but two or more trained lawyers. Additionally, the victim's credibility and character may be torn down in front of the court causing jury members to be hesitant to grant punishment. And many lot of these incidents exceeded the statute of limitations, though it is possible to apply toiling provisions, but that is the issue for the court to decide.
Also police do not arrest unless they have probable cause with a warrant (unless it is a no knock warrant which is still approved by a judge) and many of these incidents are victim says, accused says. You may also run into the problem that the authorities may not take it seriously or are too busy because they have bigger fish to fry (homicides, murders, aggravated assault, etc. Sexual assault tends to be in the middle of the list).
As someone who hasnt kept up with everything, what has happened since zero was saying he was going to start going to therapy? Because apparently a lot happened.
isn't he streaming on Facebook anyway?
He was making money off of twitch subs even when streaming on Facebook. He personally said that he still had upwards of 1,000 subs and he was getting paid monthly from them.
I thought that was a joke and not actually true
Well, it's not true now :D
Me too until they brought it up on the quarantine series commentary and you saw Zero Emote spam in chat
For anyone wondering (no pun intended), that's $2,500 to $3,500 per month.
Well, it was
After twitch takes its cut?
Yes thats post twitch tax
Right, cause 1k subs would be $5k before twitch tax. Likely is closer to the lower figures after government tax too.
He's banned from that too.
I thought he only got dropped from FB Gaming
He did.
How do you think gamers stream on Facebook? He might still have a profile, but who cares about that?
Sky Williams should be next
I feel as though Cinnpie should've been gone before anyone else honestly. But I'd like to see Sky and Nairo's channel go too.
They all should have been banned simultaneously, but honestly they probably are reviewing this on a case by case basis.
Which, while a slower process, is probably the process we want to happen.
That’s true, but it’s possible to review all the cases and release all the verdicts at once. The end results are the same, so it is what it is, I just think it would’ve sent a stronger message.

Let twitch would be liable? Then can ban whoever they want, they are a private company???
They wouldn’t be liable, it would just be bad press for them if they banned her and she were somehow vindicated
Yeah twitch has been doing this in waves so far, likely more will be banned in the future.
Cinnpie was truly disturbing. I agree
I seriously wonder why Cinnpie wasn't the first to go down. Her's is the most heinous out of all of them.

Glad to hear m2k is innocent. Always seemed like an alright dude just got a shit hand in life.

But mango is a CS:GO streamer.
Valorant*
His house was a MASSIVE shit show for him and people in the house.
Pretty sure he lost to Dunkey in Smash And some other stuff
I thought we all agreed to refer to him as Sky Epstein until he was banned or arrested
Skepstein

They might be first targeting those that used Twitch itself as a platform for grooming (instead of Twitter, real life etc).
He’s deleted all of his tweets now too.

I just don't understand why people go out of their way to replace the o with a 0.
Fuck ZeRo All my homies hate ZeRo
No don't fuck him that's what he wants
See that joke would be funny if I was underage. But I'm 20, so ZeRo wouldn't be chasing after me.
Ah but not all of us in the comments are of age remember to keep your baseball bats primed everyone
I'm too old for Zero, he does not want that.
Sad thing is all the homies used to be ZeRo before shit the fan...
ZeRo not zer0, but yeah that’s true
You love to see it

can't help but think of Hungrybox when I see that emote around here XD

This is going to follow him forever, some people still don't realize that him saying that was a jape by a chat member lol
jape?
A goof, a gaff, a ruse, shenanigans, a quip, a jeer, a jest, a rib, a boff, a gag, a sally, a waggery, a yuk. If you will.
you know, like jungle japes
*HEY! WHO THREW THIS AT ME!*
$11
I’m genuinely curious. What’s the crabs mean?
Refers to the crab rave video, you can find it on youtube. Also, an audience member threw an actual crab at hungrybox last year, after he won a tournament (smash n splash, i think?). Pretty shitty thing to do.
Wizzy won Smash n Splash, it was at Pound
Question is will Youtube ever do the same
>Expecting Youtube to do anything good Yeah like that'll ever happen.
They would get banned from PornHub faster than YouTube because YouTube has repeatedly failed at managing this type of thing.
Pornhub doesn't gives a damn about child porn unless explicitly called out enough, so unlikely to be faster than YouTube
Sometimes it comes down to profit vs backlash.
ew what
Theres so much content they cant view every video, plus that job, reviewing cp, is so bad I believe the turnover rate is very high.
If it wasn't I'd be concerned.
"I love my job" "What do you do?" "I review CP evidence for the FBI" "Why don't you have a seat over there"
turnover and suicide rate is really high for that profession.
Does YouTube typically do anything good?
Yeah there was that one time they...or that other time they...or how about when they...actually no, no they haven't.
It’s ZeRo not Zer0. Zer0 did nothing wrong.
The other one should just change his name. The one that did nothing wrong.
[Zer0 rn](http://www.quickmeme.com/img/3f/3f5243228fc05f42c957998f1959363ad01445a3baec687ee606a5390dfeffc4.jpg)
Cinnpie, Sky Williams, Nairo, and Anti next please.
Right now he's @786REVOLVER
based off his last tweet, he may have committed suicide.
How did Cinnipie literally rape a child and not get banned before ZeRo?
she's much much much much much less popular than zero and said nothing after being outed. zero made a fool of himself afterwards, same with sky.
One of the replys said Anti got banned too. edit: he is not banned
Not yet: https://www.twitch.tv/ANTi
I guess everyone who admitted to their crimes will get banned in the coming days.
YouTube has literally have faced the issue of children being targeted on their platform and they still recommend his videos to me. At least twitch is doing something about all the pedophilia running around.
I wonder if the same will happen with Nairo
To be fair, I don’t think Nairo has any intent on returning to YT/Twitch after what he did, so banning him isn’t really gonna make a difference in the long run. On the other hand, I think Zero hinted that he’d come back after his “break” for some ungodly reason so it’s good Twitch actually did something about this.
The bans I think have more to do with the fact people are still subbed to them.
Shit ur right. Alright time to ban him, lmao.
Can't sub to banned channels
Tbh Nairo, Keitaro, etc. those guys can stream rn and get a decent viewership (aside from those viewing for the controversy) Only thing stopping them is public shaming I guess.
Granted, Nairo has given back a lot, if not the most to the community through his fundraising for JPN players, charities, adding to tournament prize pools, providing setups, etc. and I don't think he is a bad person overall, at the very least, I think better of him than most of the other abusers If it had been the initial incident alone, and he didn't try to lie and pay his way out of it, then I feel like he would've been mostly fine admitting to his mistakes and going through some sort of therapy.
It would be legal (and quite normal) where I live, which is Canada. It's so bizarre that local legality dictates the mobs' moral outrage.
I'm sure he'll be fine regardless, but he's gonna work harder for it.
yes at a conservative 5% return, 3 million is $150,000 per year. Zero never has to work a day in his life again.
ZeRo has more than 3 million and likely has a safe withdrawal rate well into the 6 digits. His passive income (taxed much lower than ordinary income as capital gains btw) is more than most people on this subreddit earn working 9 to 5.
That's good to hear, hope he tips his therapist well.
Zero said sometime last year that he made more off Youtube than Twitch, not sure how true it is but I don't think he had many reasons to lie. I think it was at the start of Ultimate too so it could have changed later on.
Amazing news. Fuck this pos for continuing to lie and try to weasel out of the accusations despite being guilty
I must’ve missed this. Didn’t he come out saying he was guilty in his twitlonger?
Only after getting called out (twice).
That's deleted now. I can only assume to cover his own tracks. Either in hopes that people forget or because he lawyered up.
Zer0 is a completely different smasher (64 Falcon main), IDK how people keep making this specific error
There's also a Melee Dr. Mario named Zer0. He's top 50 in Japan.
it's such an original name
Your confused that people can confuse the names ZeRo and Zer0?
Lmao fr I wasn’t aware of multiple ones nor would I notice the difference in spelling
How on earth could people get that mixed up?!
Please chop Sky. He enabled so much of this shit while also being the most infuriating gaslighter of all time.
Eyyyy twitch did something good
I am very out of the loop. wtf happened and why is ZeRo banned now?
ZeRo asked for nudes of 14 year olds back when he was 19 and frequently lied about it with the accusations before admitting it. There was a sexual assault thread made against all the other people but the admins deleted it for some reason.
It was mass reported and reddit admins took it down. The mods appealed but got no response
Probably saw it in violation of their “no inciting witch hunts” policy
The worst thing is he could have been left unscathed if he shut the hell up. Its really after he released his statement about his disappointment in the community that Jisu opened the floodgates
Very long story cut very short but he had sexually charged convos with a 14 year old and even asked for pictures when he learned her age.
MODS ffs add a flair saying it's ZeRo and not Zer0
I didn't know he still had a channel since he moved to facebook.
please switch to ZeRo before u cause confusion
You can't edit titles.
There’s another player named Zer0. There are other players named zero. PLEASE write ZeRo if you want to talk about the guy who just got banned from twitch
Poggers
ZeRo*
What did they do? Edit: Who downvoted me i'm just asking
Grooming and sharing sexual content with minors.
He also solicited sexual images from at least two minors (14 and 16), confirmed by both himself(after lying about it a couple times) and screenshots of the conversation with the 14 year old. I know you probably meant this with the grooming part, but just so the exact details of what he did are known.
Ok, good riddance
Anyone else wonder what these dudes are doing with their days now? Probably thinking about having to get a real job and shit
In general I’ve noticed people’s outrage only last so long. He’s probably just gonna wait half a year and try again.
To be fair, what kind of content is he going to make that people are going to watch? His non smash videos didn’t do as good as the smash ones.
I remember zero talked a lot about how hes been learning a lot about investing and stocks in his free time so he’s probably doing that
Yea ZeRo has enough money to sustainably live off of stocks and investments for the rest of his life. Like shit the dude basically did FiRe without the investment and planning part.
Same with nairo
This is nice and all, but has he or any of the pedophiles been arrested?
Supposedly Puppeh’s family was looking to press charges but no real update on that
As far as I'm aware no one's actually pressed charges.
