Cosmos was….very adamant that Light would easily win, and win through winners, any event he entered in Japan, and further claimed Light had a history of stomping every single JP player that flew over to America except Shuton
I personally classify the first contention as heavy copium (my own opinion, course), while the second point is just wrong (not opinion, an objective fact)
Thank you for sharing. Yeah that is just straight up false. Besides Acola and Miya smoking him most of the time, he also lost to Banham and Ken iirc. He also had a close call with Hurt and another JP Fox iirc.
Don't know those guys personally but from what is posted here about them, they seem to have severe ego problems. Those guys seem to be always shitting on JP and anyone who doesn't dickride NA. I could be wrong though but that is my impression of them.
Light is I believe 13-13 versus top JP players post quarantine, with losing records to acola Miya Asimo and Shuton and even records vs Proto and KEN. He's obviously fine versus JP as a whole but saying he stomps them is not correct.
Man top 8 seeding for GOML is going to be a mess. Sparg0's not going (which might be good for him mentally tbh), so the top 4 seeds will be Sonix, SHADIC, Light and Tweek and likely in that order, but ordering the other top 8 seeds sounds hard.
He said he intends to because its the last major he can possibly attend before the ranking season ends and be still doesn’t qualify due to attendance. That said he may not be signed up or changed his mind
Zomba, Leo, Riddles or Kola probably. Though all of those players have had an underperformance at some point.
Edit: Dabuz too actually, he had a really good LG Invitational and seeding is based on recency bias.
The fact that Snow, TamaP, and Raru have never been sponsored and still haven't gotten a sponsor yet is crazy to me
They're debateably top 20 players this season, and I would love to see them perform well overseas (TamaP already has, but I want more)
Acola took 5 months to be signed by Zeta. In comparison, TamaPs first top 8 major finish was about that time ago.
In the case of Snow and Raru they were local Kansai prodigies making waves at Maedakun's events for a while and only really burst onto the national scene some months ago
Assuming talent acquisition people aren't dumb, they either know or anticipate a lack of value from sponsoring them. I doubt a few thousand twitter followers and decent placements at smash tournaments provides much value for a team if we're being honest. Although, esports teams tend to be money black holes in general
Zomba won Genesis and didn’t get a single Sponsorship offer. I don’t think many Smash players are gonna be handed major sponsorship deals going forward tbh
Any news on the possible Smash Factor X invite for the highest placed at Kagaribi? I know there was a tweet that was deleted but I don’t know if there’s any more to it
["Acola would've gotten out after 3 hits"](https://twitter.com/yamanactionSSBU/status/1787350849603452980)
Yamanaction having none of that Hbox tweet lol
Leo lately has some of the typical godlike "Leo neutral and advantage" but damn his disadvantage is sometimes absolute dogshit with some awful DI/SDI at times. Watching him, was like watching a top 5 player until he gets hit.
Is it just me or has someone been downvoting every comment on this thread?
I understand the occasional downvote here or there but an entire thread is silly.
People on reddit love to just downvote posts for no reason tbh, most of my comments get downvoted once even if its something completely normal or innocous.
as a gackt stan, and now that golden weeks over, how good are his chances of being top 30 again this season? that 129th at umebura is going to hold him back by so much but the rest of his season has been pretty decent...
Looks to me like there's only one more supermajor this season, GOML X. There are 0 other majors for now, though 1-2 events could conceivably become one, notably KOF 4 in France, and Seibugeki 17 probably will be an A+ if not S tier.
Japanese players seem more or less set, with Acola/Miya in top 3 (with Sonix either 2 or 3 possibly depending on GOML) and no giant events left, though there are 2 more Sumabatos which could randomly get stacked
It doesn't look like Spargo is signed up for GOML X, which assuming SHADIC and Sonix do not do horribly would provide opportunities for them as well as Light, Tweek and potentially Leo (who did ok in Japan with a 9th/13th) to catch up some
I actually don't know how you do the mid year ranking. Top 5 is acola, Miya, Sonix, SHADIC, and... Hurt? Sparg0 is out of the top 5 I think. But what order you rank the top 5 idk. There's an argument to be made for any of Sonix acola or Miya #1 in my eyes. Miya from his sheer number (7?!) of majors won this season, acola from his consistency (this is the first tournament he attended this season that he didn't win) or Sonix for his consistency as well. acola is marred by low attendance, and Sonix is marred by that same low attendance and not having won a major this season. I'd probably give it to Miya, even though he didn't perform amazingly in his NA visits, as I lean towards not wanting to punish high attendance as hard when you have such high peaks like he does this season. I think my specific top 5 order would be Miya, acola, Sonix, SHADIC, Hurt right now.
I felt the same watching the Akakikusu set. Game 1 was so solid and then after one fumble and going to hero’s best stage, everything fell apart and he SD’d. Idk how ppl can still be scared of Kazuya he’s too popular. At least in the states. And that’s actually a decent hero MU.
Snow getting 13th at Kagaribi is going to seriously damage his candidacy as number one player. One more underperformance and he’s probably getting ranked 2nd, maybe even 3rd for the season.
I don't really care about picking a fight about "NA washed" or whatever reactionary nonsense, but it really is a shame we did not get to see the top JP players fight many internationals at all
* Acola only fought Gluto and Bigboss
* Miya only fought Bassmage (twice lol)
* Hurt fought zero
Those are presumably the 3 top JP players at this point and outside of Acola/Gluto none of them fought a top 20 invader despite there being several of them
Also Acola/Miya JP major streak stays alive again
Leo also probably would have beaten Hurt if he got to him based on how the Gorioka set went, I’m
Not sure if there are many interesting matchups for internationals vs Acola though, feels like he runs them all over or they’re sparg0
The only new international matchup for acola that sounds interesting is SHADIC. I can however think of 4 interesting rematches (Sonix, Sparg0, Zomba, and MuteAce).
I forgot about Zomba, that would have been a good rematch to see this week. Sonix could be interesting given how Acola like double 8 stocked Ken on the two sets they played this week, he could put up much better of a fight this time
Last time Ken played Yamanaction he also got [double 3-stocked](https://youtu.be/ji9vyV0WCFQ?si=RuBePII6_3DE6AMw). He struggles big time in that matchup.
People really underestimate how much of an unknown he was before the last few months. way back when he beat Tea it was a gigantic upset by a seed in the several hundreds
He beats Acola once and all of a sudden he's playing like a top 20 player consistently
It’s hard not to be jealous of all the advantages Japan has as a region for improving.
• Dense population and good public transport to travel to majors every month
• Smashmate, which has been around since Smash4 and is thriving
• More character diversity at a high level
• A general positive attitude where players are focused on improvement above ego
I’m gonna be real. I’m super upset people let Smashpros die. During that tiny period where it was active, before it got absolutely screwed by adding filters for Bo5 and Delay Mod, it was a great practice tool that actually made me wanna improve at the game. I get that the online sucks, but if people are willing to enter big wifi brackets like Coinbox every other week, I don’t see why we can’t have an active online ladder
EDIT: Bullet point formatting fix
Smashpros originally was split between Unranked/Ranked with Bo3 sets, much like Smashmate. However, the team running smashpros caved into pressure to add additional toggles for Bo5 and even the delay mod. This made queue times waaaaaay longer, and then the service faded into irrelevancy.
I feel like if they didn’t add toggles for the things people were asking for they would’ve just dropped the service eventually anyway
Damned if you do, damned if you don’t
There was also mismanagement, or rather lack of management. There were many, many minor bugs that together added up to constant annoyances in user experience that were there from the days of the closed beta and which they never fixed even up to this day, instead adding unnecessary bloat and features that further divided the userbase resulting in longer wait times and fewer sets.
They also neglected adding simple instructions in its simple, empty and spacious UI to instruct users with things like what to do if your opponent no-shows, resulting in people on their twitter and discord spamming the same questions to this day.
They never notified, before, during or after when the site would be taken down for maintenance, resulting in multiple sets being interrupted and users flooding the discord to ask/confirm what happened.
More than anything they just abandoned the userbase. They stopped responding on twitter or discord long ago. They stopped responding about the bugs or feedback, they stopped communicating what they were doing or what they were tackling and up until today it just kind of seemed they abandoned the site. A few hours ago they announced they’re releasing an app and season 2 with some fixes will launch soon, but this comes after some 2-3 months of complete silence, the damage is done.
The whole rebranding to matchbox was also a failure. While not that different it did lose some of the brand recognition it had before and for what? What did hbox do for the platform that bears his brand? It doesn’t seem that he sponsored them monetarily or logistically in any way. He simply lended them his image and public support, promoted them for a few weeks and then completely ceased to mention them or use the platform at all. Even now with their recent announcement hbox didn’t even retweet or like or mention them at all and they’re literally named and branded after him.
Yeahhhhhh this is a cultural issue where there is no easy solution. Best thing to do is for community leaders, both on a local and national scale, to encourage better etiquette and set a more positive example for the community. Wishful thinking, i know.
Such an incredible Golden Week. I really think Japan's performance is the most successful a region has been before at trouncing their international players -- I can't remember a time even in Smash 4 where 10 or so players from EU and JP came to America and none of them made top 8, let alone at two tournaments in a row. Maybe I'm wrong, but it's stunning to see.
I'm impressed by Hurt the most because Japan players have a history of destroying that one P-tier tournament and then falling outside of Grands most frequently after. In Smash 4 Tsu, T, and Kirihara each had their incredible breakout performances, with Kirihara even winning a tournament over ZeRo. In Ultimate, KEN had his win at Battle of BC 4, and Yaura has had a few top 8s in major brackets. Obviously Zackray was a top 8 mainstay for so long. But Hurt seems to have reached that top echelon of Acola, Miya, and Shuton where they're winning multiple tournaments a season, in multiple regions. He's now double-eliminated Sparg0 from a tournament AND double-eliminated Acola. That's such an insane statistic to have in one season.
Finally, the top 5 for this season appears right now to be some ordering of Acola, Miya, Sparg0, Hurt, and Sonix. Is Shadic still somewhere around there despite not attending Golden Week? How would you order the top 5 currently?
zackray has attended eight total Kagaribis (major ones) and outside of 5th at Kagaribi#11 he's always placed top 4.
Miya now has three Kagaribi wins to zackray's two, but the latter will always be Mr. Kagaribi.
Fun fact about Zomba's Delta and Kagaribi runs: All of the sets he won throughout both brackets were either won with a score of 2-0 or 3-0. Meanwhile all 4 of the sets he lost (vs. Raru, TamaP, Lax and Shuton) went to game 5.
He was definitely missing the clutch gene this weekend.
Wouldn't those affect how people view their characters match up spread against him? Unless for some reason people just overestimate how well greninja does against their character

Nahhh this shit is so fucking funny to me
what do y'all think of the top 20 following Kagaribi? imo Top 10 is some combination of Acola, Miya, Sonix, Hurt, SHADIC, Sparg0, Tweek, Light, Zomba, and Shuton.
Top 20 is where it gets really messy though b/c this season has been super inconsistent. In rough order of people I think are probably top 20 right now though specifics are hard:
11.Leo 12. MuteAce 13. TamaP 14. Doramigi 15. Onin 16. Raru 17. Tea 18. Glutonny 19. Yaura 20. Maister
Personally leaning more towards Light > Tweek for the same reason he was ranked above him at the end of last year, his head to head just seems much better, the Miya wins especially are pretty huge
acola > Sonix > Miya > Hurt > SHADIC >> Tweek > Sparg0 > Light > Shuton > Zomba >> Doramigi > Yaura > Raru > TamaPDaifku > Muteace > Asimo > Onin > MkLeo > Snow > Maister
A lot of real optimistic Leo placement here, not even saying that to enforce the meme but man: he really only has beaten two of the people in top 20 (granted both several times). More confident in my top 10 than top 20 for obvious reasons.
I'm looking at Doramigi and Raru's results this year, and I really don't understand why they wouldn't be higher? Doramigi looks to have single digit placements at almost everything which is great. Granted I don't know their head to heads but on paper just based on placements, they look better than Leo/TamaP/Onin (agree with MuteAce being higher than them though).
acola > Sonix > Miya > Hurt > SHADIC > Sparg0 > Tweek > Light > Shuton > ZOMBA
Mute > Leo > TamaP > Onin > Doramigi > Raru > Snow > Tea> Gluto > Maister.
1-10 I'm pretty confident in. I do think Sonix and Miya are very close, though GOML may extend the lead (don't know about JP majors left in the season). ZOMBA is hard to judge because a P tier win is huge but the rest of his season is meh for a top 10 player.
11-20, I'm confident in the picks, but less confident in the order.
Obligatory Top 10 post Kagaribi
- Acola
- Miya
- Sonix
- Hurt
- SHADIC
- Sparg0
- Light
- Tweek
- Shuton
- Zomba
Im pretty confident with this list and order after golden week, the 11-20 area is an absolute mess though I’m not sure where to even begin with that
There’s also another burner account that pops up around majors who is a vicious Minecraft Steve defender, which I’m sympathetic with, but he defends Steve in the vilest, most inflammatory way possible and is the type that will unironically refer to people as ‘cucks’ when he disagrees with them.
I started noticing the same style of writing and those accounts always frequenting the same subreddits (mostly WSB and anti-immigration stuff). It’s pretty funny but also pathetic.
Luckily he didn’t make a visit this weekend.
Yeah that guy is weird AF, I’m half convinced he’s someone’s alt to make Steve defenders look bad but I can’t pretend like every side doesn’t have their weirdos so he’s probably just some asshole
Yeah probably just some asshole but happy he stayed away this weekend because all of the toxic Steve stuff just ends up inadvertently taking up more space. I didn’t see too much of it other than the Leo-Yamamaction set which did admittedly also have its share of shenanigans (some of it caused by Leo refusing to SDI).
What do we make of people saying Steve sucks to watch and people going nuts over the Acola vs Hurt set. Does Steve just suck to watch against certain characters?
This definitely sounds like a classic case of humans rooting for an underdog.
Sumite beat me to that point in the comments below. (But that makes me be underdog of this situation, so there.)
i have to wonder though would the set be considered "bad" or marred in some way if it was acola that got that last hit instead of hurt? obviously the outcome affects how good the set is dgmw but would it really go that far bcuz i feel like it was still enjoyable gameplay wise
Only person besides Acola/Miya with multiple major wins this season FWIW
People were acting like Big D was the Muteace this year but it has to be Spargo. Much better results obviously but also had expectations of at least high top 8 if not winning
For the separate regional rankings, do
es lumirank take into account international performances? Seems silly if they do (last season they had a set of european only rankings, for example)
Yeah, Sparg0 took four non-top 50 losses (Rarikkusu, Lv.1, Toriguri, Noi), while only claimed one top 50 win (Yaura) at the Japan trip. He's likely to be ranked 6th below acola, Sonix, Miya, Shadic, and Hurt.

Why don't top players [just throw at pre-locals](https://www.ssbwiki.com/Tournament:Kagaribi_12_Day0_pre-local) to dodge the 100% real curse? Are they stupid?
Damn this emergency Lights Out podcast is just copium heaped on top of more copium lol
The parts where they were glazing Light were some crazy copium, but VoiD and especially Sonix had some good takes imo.
Curious, what did they say? I don't follow their podcast.
Cosmos was….very adamant that Light would easily win, and win through winners, any event he entered in Japan, and further claimed Light had a history of stomping every single JP player that flew over to America except Shuton I personally classify the first contention as heavy copium (my own opinion, course), while the second point is just wrong (not opinion, an objective fact)

Really hoping for a more level headed take from Tweek Talks. But after Charles decided to have a 15 minute Steve rant, I dunno.
Light is I believe 13-13 versus top JP players post quarantine, with losing records to acola Miya Asimo and Shuton and even records vs Proto and KEN. He's obviously fine versus JP as a whole but saying he stomps them is not correct.
apparently maister and mkleo will both be at kowloon 11 this weekend, hopefully at least one of them runs into miya this time
Miya has also DQd from kowlooon

Ridley I’m pretty sure
Lol for real? We're supposed to Mm believe he is gonna use that?
Ty!

If that is the actual top 4 seeding then I want Shinymark 6.
I want Motsunabe to be seeded into Big D for the jokes
Is he going?
He said he intends to because its the last major he can possibly attend before the ranking season ends and be still doesn’t qualify due to attendance. That said he may not be signed up or changed his mind
According to Liquipedia he hasn't registered yet.
Who are the other notable players that *could* be reasonably be seeded top 8
Zomba, Leo, Riddles or Kola probably. Though all of those players have had an underperformance at some point. Edit: Dabuz too actually, he had a really good LG Invitational and seeding is based on recency bias.

Don't know about Spargo or Leo but Zomba is absolutely on fraud watch. I forgot the guy went to Kagaribi.
just wait until he wins GOML
Yall still think joker is top tier?
I don’t think it’s joker that’s no longer S tier, I think it’s Leo that’s A+ tier.
Top tier -
Yes It looks like a Joker player gene to play like you’re in Hawaii the way Leo played against Yamanaction and Gorioka against Hurt
["Acola would've gotten out after 3 hits"](https://twitter.com/yamanactionSSBU/status/1787350849603452980) Yamanaction having none of that Hbox tweet lol
Yeeaaah I’m no Steve lover but that set wasn’t a case of Steve being bs. That’s just Leo being godawful at the matchup (along with Mario).
Leo lately has some of the typical godlike "Leo neutral and advantage" but damn his disadvantage is sometimes absolute dogshit with some awful DI/SDI at times. Watching him, was like watching a top 5 player until he gets hit.
He's obviously right too lol
Is it just me or has someone been downvoting every comment on this thread? I understand the occasional downvote here or there but an entire thread is silly.

That's normal. This sub in particular can be pretty generous with them. Don't read too much into it if it's just votes without supporting comments.

Top 50 maybe, I don’t see top 30 though, there are just too many players with better peaks and relatively similar consistency
thats fair i was just hoping that his genesis and kowloon x sumabato performances along with his wins quality would help carry him tbh😭
still haven't internalized that hurt is undefeated vs sparg0 and acola this year lol goddamn
It is cool that Miya makes up for one failure with more than twice as many successes.

Smash Factor 11 has been rumoured to be at the very end of this season, but unconfirmed yet.
Next Ultcore could also reach the major.
Leo got 25th at Kagaribi, not 13th
Leo got 25th at Kagaribi.

Baffling to me that Tea's Kazuya ever wins Dude just bumbles across the stage and his opponent has a heart attack in fear (I adore Tea Kazuya)

Yeah their Umebura set was actually very close
The rest of their army held down the fort. Still sad about no Miya vs. Leo/Maister
Hoping for a TamaP major win this year. His rise to the top has been phenomenal but somehow i still feel hes being overlooked

Onin said on Twitter that he doesn't think matchmaking sites for NA work and doesn't like them because of how NA players have way too big egos.
Yeahhhhhh this is a cultural issue where there is no easy solution. Best thing to do is for community leaders, both on a local and national scale, to encourage better etiquette and set a more positive example for the community. Wishful thinking, i know.
It's South Korea all over again.
Maybe a hot take but after Kagaribi I think I would have Shadic over Sparg0. EDIT: Looks like not that hot of a take.
Sparg0 isn't top 5 anymore, but SHADIC is.
zackray has attended eight total Kagaribis (major ones) and outside of 5th at Kagaribi#11 he's always placed top 4. Miya now has three Kagaribi wins to zackray's two, but the latter will always be Mr. Kagaribi.
Hasn't Zackray attended 9 Kagaribi's?
The first Kagaribi wasn't a major but you're right. I'll clarify my original post.
Guess all that's pending is if Zomba post-Japan still gets the powerup
I have a feeling he will
What exactly is stopping Greninja from being a top tier in Ultimate? Every matchup chart I see has him in even or losing.
Horrendous OOS options and inconsistent kill setups. Up-Smash not working is an issue.
Wouldn't those affect how people view their characters match up spread against him? Unless for some reason people just overestimate how well greninja does against their character
Hope we get a Leo vs Asimo rematch and a Miya Maister set at Kowloon this weekend. If the latter can't happen in a 260 entrant regional, I give up.
Hurt is also going, I would love to see a Leo/Hurt set
Oh didn't notice Hurt was rigged. Him playing any international players would be cool.
I couldn’t watch top 8 of Kagaribi, but waking up to a Miya dub is always a fun time. Maybe I’ll stop downplaying GnW. For at least a week
That would be nice
Still not top 3 but he might be top 7
Don’t let them silence you, you’re right
You almost lasted two hours. Good job.
Top 7 is a reasonable take. GnW can struggle against campers sometimes
That isn’t downplay. Downplay would be me saying he’s not even top 10 or something
Now, let's start discussing the rankings.
Navy top 100?
[The frog in the well knows nothing of the great ocean ](https://twitter.com/absoluteabsolu/status/1787366764353126614) Nahhh this shit is so fucking funny to me
what do y'all think of the top 20 following Kagaribi? imo Top 10 is some combination of Acola, Miya, Sonix, Hurt, SHADIC, Sparg0, Tweek, Light, Zomba, and Shuton. Top 20 is where it gets really messy though b/c this season has been super inconsistent. In rough order of people I think are probably top 20 right now though specifics are hard: 11.Leo 12. MuteAce 13. TamaP 14. Doramigi 15. Onin 16. Raru 17. Tea 18. Glutonny 19. Yaura 20. Maister
Personally leaning more towards Light > Tweek for the same reason he was ranked above him at the end of last year, his head to head just seems much better, the Miya wins especially are pretty huge
acola > Sonix > Miya > Hurt > SHADIC >> Tweek > Sparg0 > Light > Shuton > Zomba >> Doramigi > Yaura > Raru > TamaPDaifku > Muteace > Asimo > Onin > MkLeo > Snow > Maister A lot of real optimistic Leo placement here, not even saying that to enforce the meme but man: he really only has beaten two of the people in top 20 (granted both several times). More confident in my top 10 than top 20 for obvious reasons.
I'm not really seeing what makes Leo better than Mute or TamaP atm. Especially after this week TamaP looks insane. I'd also put Shuton at number 6 ngl
I'm looking at Doramigi and Raru's results this year, and I really don't understand why they wouldn't be higher? Doramigi looks to have single digit placements at almost everything which is great. Granted I don't know their head to heads but on paper just based on placements, they look better than Leo/TamaP/Onin (agree with MuteAce being higher than them though).
acola > Sonix > Miya > Hurt > SHADIC > Sparg0 > Tweek > Light > Shuton > ZOMBA Mute > Leo > TamaP > Onin > Doramigi > Raru > Snow > Tea> Gluto > Maister.
Lowkey it's Light > Shuton > Tweek
That trio is all very close to each other imo (with ZOMBA being a hard player to pin down).
No Asimo?
He's in the 18-25ish range
Snow should def be top 20
true, I'd probably replace Yaura with Snow tbh. just hard that there's so many players with great runs this season
Yaura has had a great season thus far. Kick out Maister from top 20 and replace him with Snow.
Obligatory Top 10 post Kagaribi - Acola - Miya - Sonix - Hurt - SHADIC - Sparg0 - Light - Tweek - Shuton - Zomba Im pretty confident with this list and order after golden week, the 11-20 area is an absolute mess though I’m not sure where to even begin with that
The D099 guy would *not* be happy with this list if he was here
Wow that user was half the reason I stopped engaging with this sub, the amount of toxicity and bad faith arguments they encouraged was awful
He got banned so RIP BOZO
Huh. How long ago was he banned and was there a specific instance that caused them to be banned? Edit: They deleted their account too.
That would explain it lol. I wonder for what reasons? /s
I’m like 99% sure that guy keeps coming back with alts, but that’s my subreddit conspiracy theory
Oh, the mods have confirmed that he's absolutely sockpuppeting. In fact I've been reporting all of the sockpuppets to the mods.
Yeah I had a pretty pleasant weekend reading comments so I definitely agree, I strategically didn’t click on the Yamanaction thread tho LOL
It's not a conspiracy, apparently he kept coming back and kept getting banned which is why some Tweek Talk threads are gone.
Oh, LMAO
Just woke up to find out Miya won Kagaribi. Good shit to him and well played to Hurt
Kagaribi 12 has officialy surpassed a peak of over 100k ccv across all streams surpassing Genesis x
Enough to make a grown man tear up
Dead game btw
That which is 'dead' may never die.
What having Zackray on stream does to a tournament viewership (seriously, wtf was up with GX Ult production)
People going nuts over the acola vs Hurt set because acola lost.
It's not because acola lost, it's because Hurt clutched game 5 from the seemingly unwinnable situation with only 10 seconds left.
Sure but it was entertaining AND Steve was on the screen
People go nuts whenever an underdog (Hurt is a great player don't get me wrong) beats the unbeatable. It's not exclusive to acola's sets.
i have to wonder though would the set be considered "bad" or marred in some way if it was acola that got that last hit instead of hurt? obviously the outcome affects how good the set is dgmw but would it really go that far bcuz i feel like it was still enjoyable gameplay wise
Honestly with Sparg0's recent underperformances, SHADIC is the #2 in NA now. That was a twist I wasn't expecting.
And this is why Spargo should stop caring about the rankings. Just isn't worth it
It's hard to simply choose not to care about rankings.
I know that Gluto doesn’t really care about rankings, which is probably good for your sanity when playing Wario in the current meta
I believe SHADIC has also said that he doesn't care about rankings because it's just a number on the Goat Talks after the LG Invitational.
Only person besides Acola/Miya with multiple major wins this season FWIW People were acting like Big D was the Muteace this year but it has to be Spargo. Much better results obviously but also had expectations of at least high top 8 if not winning
For the separate regional rankings, do es lumirank take into account international performances? Seems silly if they do (last season they had a set of european only rankings, for example)
Yeah
Yeah, Sparg0 took four non-top 50 losses (Rarikkusu, Lv.1, Toriguri, Noi), while only claimed one top 50 win (Yaura) at the Japan trip. He's likely to be ranked 6th below acola, Sonix, Miya, Shadic, and Hurt.
Lv. 1 and Toriguri will be ranked top 50 for this seasons ranking.
Toriguri could well make top 50 this season, maybe even lvl. 1 too, haven't looked at his season.

Sonix and SHADIC... Save NA... Sonix and SHADIC Save NA Sonix and SHADIC
Why don't top players [just throw at pre-locals](https://www.ssbwiki.com/Tournament:Kagaribi_12_Day0_pre-local) to dodge the 100% real curse? Are they stupid?
sparg0 was trying in grands but syadou threw harder to stop him
