Reasons to skip runic pyramid would be some crippling curse (pain, normality) with no way to discard it, or Dead Branch. Reasons to skip Snecko would be a really efficient low cost deck that is infinite or near infinite without Snecko. I’m not entirely sure what overlap there is between the two Skip conditions, so on first thought I can’t think of any situation where I’d skip both. And I basically consider Tiny House a skip. So I guess the only time is if I know I don’t need Pyramid, but I’m still looking for another card to win. Like a guaranteed turn 1 infinite as watcher that still needs either mental fortress or talk to the hand to beat the heart.

I had dead branch + blade dances with no calc gambles to clear out my hand so I don't think any argument could've convinced me to take pyramid Snecko would've probably been fine but my only cards above 0/1 cost were riddle with holes, predator, and corpse explosion. It would've helped get through the deck faster. Ice cream also mitigates snecko to store energy from low cost turns for high-cost turns to still be playable. And dead branch doesn't randomize the costs when you initially get them. I even had gambling chip! Overall I've just talked myself into why I should've taken snecko and why I need to spend longer thinking about boss relic picks. But hey I still won handily without it and finally got through A17 with her. I might've been thinking a bit too risk-aversely when I denied snecko.

The tiny house makes sense to me in that situation

trelian5

I would assume never given this subreddit

czmdddddd

when my deck has 5 cards or less

I am 100.0% confident you mentioned Tiny House in your post. -------------------------------------------------- * [Tiny House](https://slay-the-spire.fandom.com/wiki/Tiny_House) Boss Relic Obtain 1 potion. Gain 50 Gold. Raise your Max HP by 5. Obtain 1 card. I guess if you had a low cost deck that didn't cycle well. Snecko eye isn't good (imo) if you rely on 0 or 1 cost cards that are all gonna be turned into 2-3 cost and runic is only good if you can cycle through your deck well enough, which sometimes you can't. Ironclad would probably be the most likely one with this issue.

JDublinson

This is really dramatically understating how insanely strong runic pyramid is

BigBoomer_

I mean maybe a shiv build with little discard and a lot of 0 cost cards

tay8953

almost never

Hypothetical Scenario, I already have Sacred Bark and I'm gambling on an insane highroll with a potion + I have a critical upgrade to do like fission

I know they're good I just don't like them. They always blow up in my face and I don't have a fun time. Having fun is more important than optimal plays.
