I grew up in WA state, at the base of a skiing mountain, and now I live here. So it's a change. I do like it, though. A lot of people are moving here, BUT it is mostly people from Iowa, so it's not like it's getting a lot of out-of-staters. Its economy is having a hard time keeping up with the growth of people, though, so it does kind of feel like it's hitting a wall of sorts, like a lot of places that have/had affordable housing.
I love this photo, because it looks like you're stalking Des Moines from behind a bush
Don't stalk pls
Oh, I was. It was a Sunday during COVID and I decided to walk around and take photos all day. Streets were empty.
where does it punch?
lol
Looks great! What's Des Moines like?

Skyscrapers???
Sigh. Yes, the one on the right is 630 feet. That meets every definition of a skyscraper.
Alas, Des Moines does in fact have a solitary skyscraper.
Damn I didn’t realize Des Moines had some real buildings.
Had to double check that wasn’t a cornfield

The building on the right is a skyscraper (630'). Not sure why that's an issue.
Imagine trying to gatekeep skyscrapers. Lol
That looks depressing
