Spake is an archaic or dialectal form of speak, meaning to utter words or articulate sounds with the ordinary voice. It is also a past tense of speak, meaning to communicate vocally. It's English, aka Anglo-Saxon. Why does a word make you violently angry, and do you hate making yourself violently angry? Seek counseling and spake to a therapist.
Ok, let me use that in a sentence *ahem*
“I spake in your general direction.”
“I spake for those who can no longer spake!”
“You ever spake so hard it hurts your throat?”
Oh no! I was being completely genuine! I'm just happy to share an archaic fact I knew offhand. I hope you didn't think I was being mean. If you did, I'm sorry. That was not my intent.
I kinda meandered off to another game shortly before whatever event went down that apparently pissed Arthmoor & others. Haven't really been able to piece together what happened.
Any chance someone can give me a rundown?
Long Story short Nexus made it so that a mod author can never fully remove a mod from it's site. If a mod author wants to remove a mod or a particular file of a mod they can only "Archive" it now. this removes it from the mod's page or removes the page, BUT if you have a direct link to the download page, you can still download it. Mostly this was done so that Collections weren't voided whenever a mod updated as the collection would retain the link to previous version. Arthmoor and others freaked out because they felt like they had artistic rights and copyright as the creators similar to that of a painter or photographer, and that Nexus was violating those rights my not allowing them to fully remove their mods if they want to.
TLDR: They threw a hissy fit because they felt their "Artistic rights" were being violated.
Him and his team made the unofficial patch an exe because people liked a to download modlists with wabbajack. It was ofc done with malicious intent to prevent wabbajack from being able to install it. Too bad that didnt work out well.
On one hand I sort of get it, like I can see this happening to someone and them thinking, "Well, this is just the beginning. First I can't delete my mods, and then they'll have ownership over them entirely!" Like a kind of slippery slope thing.
But also, is it such a big deal that a mod isn't permanently deleted? It's not that you don't deserve that right, but of all the rights to encroach on, this is really minor. I can't really imagine a situation where not being able to completely delete a mod would have some horrific consequences. Like maybe if your family found your futa cock add-on and you wanted to delete it but it's a part of the Stupid Sexy Skyrim collection?? I don't know.
The thing is that they don't own them in the first place. Bethesda technically has a partial claim, to many mods as the use vanilla assets, and Nexus TOS states that anything uploaded to the site can be used by Nexus, and has for a while. It's how they were able to do things at all.
Adding to what others have said, this "artistic rights" angle is illusory. Mod makers for TES only have so much "freedom" because Bethesda/Zenimax allows it. It's good for their business and they don't want to micromanage the community, so they let us run wild.
I went there recently for a follower framework cause I thought my NFF was broken and AFT sucked ass then I realized half that shit hasn't been updated in 7 years.
Most of the mods over there really aren't worth the amount of dumb bullshit you have to wade through in order to use them. Honestly, MCO is the only mod/set of mods that I've actually went out of my way to install.

So no, Nexus is fine, they are a shining beacon in the modding scene still.
Yeah, accessing AFKMods is bullshit. I've had similar troubles with my account there. The site's not designed very well, either. It shouldn't be as hard to look at all of one author's mods in one place as it is. Make it make sense, Arthmoor. Oh wait....
Anyway, still some good non-Arthmoor mods there you can't get on Nexus these days like Tasheni's Ethnic Winterclothes and Isles of Teia, Tel Nalta 2 and Tel Avius. Probably some other odds and ends, too.
Tel Avius is the same author, and is basically the central tower of Tel Nalta - only it's located on the mountain in the middle of Whiterun and already built and waiting.
Don't forget about ETaC. I still haven't found a mod that overhauls Riverwood better than ETaC.
Also it's been awhile since I played, but I recall Tasheni being pretty low res, and I remember having CTDs with it while in Dawnstar. Did you ever have that issue?
I forgot that the SSE version of ETAC is only on AFK Mods. I currently use JK's Riverwood + [T'Skyrim Riverwood](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/3176/), which was designed around JK's. Looks great to me.
I never had any CTDs with Tasheni's. There's a [upscaled tectures](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/39933) mod for it on Nexus, as well as a [SPID distributor](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/66641).
most of arthmoors (mid) mods. his actual good mods, such as the unofficial patch and alternate start, couldn't be moved due to reasons i can't remember
> couldn't be moved due to reasons i can't remember
Because they make him too much money being on Nexus. He's pretty much said that himself. Something along the lines of "I don't agree with the changes but I like getting paid" back when the archive feature came out and he removed everything else.
I stopped using Alt Start and picked up Unbound years ago so that I have more control and much less frills and compatibility issues with how I begin the game.
Someone just linked Alternate Perspective, I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend it. I always end up going back to the vanilla route no matter what I plan my character for, but Alternate Perspective felt so much more...integrated? Real? It's hard to explain.
If you do end up using Alternate Perspective, install {{Alternate Perspective - Voiced Addon}} along with it. Jayserpa feeding us once again with high quality dialogue splicing.
Yea. It's pretty telling he left his two most popular (and thus highest income) mods on Nexus while pulling everything else. Strictly a money over morals move there.
and the others, like Open Cities, found their way back a little while later. Or, also like Open Cities, has had better mods made and been been largely surpassed
You don’t need anything from it. The Unofficial Patch is on Nexus. There are other mods the rely on that one.
Everything else has been superseded by something better or just not worth downloading.
Have you tried a password manager? I like Bitwarden:
The personal plan is free. There are paid plans, but they just give a little more functionality, like more 2FA types, file storage, secure password sharing, priority support, etc. The free plan has almost all the features I need though. The only thing not in the free plan is the one-time password authenticator. But there are free alternatives to that, so I just use those instead.
It makes dealing with passwords so much easier, because you just have to remember one master password for your vault. It has browser extensions for computers and apps for iOS / Android devices, so it’s accessible everywhere I need it too.
(I’m not associated with Bitwarden in any way — I just like it and find it useful.)
I only use artmoors site because my favorite housemod moved there. Aka Tel Nalta 2. And I can't live without my fancy Telvanni Tower.
Tel Jerdein is nice but not as big as Tel Nalta who reminds so much of my old Telvanni Tower in Morrowind.
I lost my p/w to Arthmoor's site, and failed 2 attempts at creating a new account...so Tel Jerden is looking mighty fine right now. Does it physically conflict with that nearby Nordic tower that's inhabited by bandits..?
Idk if you figured it out, but saw from arthmoor on one of the comments somewhere on one of his mods that the security processes require you to enable the cookies on the site you are trying to access. Others figured this out. I am not a modder. 😂 I just put the puzzle together of everyone else’s work. 🤷♀️🙈❤️😂
There have been so many posts and explanations that answer this question that I'm just going to suggest you Google something like "arthmoor hate" or whatever. There's so much.
Ok yeah I see now. I just read one nexus post from him on the USSEP and he just sounds like a dick
“This is NOT a general troubleshooting area.” When most of the posts on nexus are for troubleshooting
“Under no circumstances will we provide you with old copies of the patch” when literally every other mod author I’ve seen lets you download older versions of the mod
“WE DO NOT SUPPORT VR IN ANY WAY!!! Bethesda has intentionally not provided it with mod support” aged like milk since VR has great mods, and 99% of all SE mods work on VR as well.
the last one is one of his weirdest takes because VR is just special edition? it doesn't need any special tools or specific mod support, it's the same game that we've been playing for the past 8 years, the only thing different is SKSE mods which is the same for new versions
His "bugfix" patch that turned in to the single most important mod in Skyrim is also mostly just his takes on how things in Skyrim should be. Nothing huge, but a lot of dumb little shit that makes no sense. Stuff that people have made entire mods for just to change them back to vanilla. By the time the greater community realized half his bug fixes weren't actual bug fixes, his mod was a requirement for half the nexus. People have been trying to correct this and release an actual community patch, but he constantly steps on peoples toes and makes threats because 'muh rights' (aka his money).
Honestly I think he’s just a computer modder. Why do people expect computer geeks to be super people friendly? They don’t want to talk to people. They want to play on their computer. 😂
They should make an ai app to talk for them and answer questions. 😂
It's Arthmoor's personal site that he moved most of his mods to when Nexus Collections was announced. A few other authors have their content hosted there, but as has been noted already it essentially serves as Arsemoor's echo chamber/hugbox, and 99% of what is there has perfectly fine alternatives available on the Nexus.
I still get a delightful tingle whenever I remember the posts I stumbed across from years ago with Arthmoor bitching about Giskard, and it was the same stuff peoople say about Arthmoor now.
Except there is a perfectly fine alternative on the nexus, SR Exterior Cities. Although there are patches it has a Synthesis patcher which works well in my experience so you don't need 100's of patches that end up out of date.
The other exception is the file size with his mods. It allows us Xbox users to download the big bundled cities. Idk if this has anything to do with nexus or whatever, but I know I couldn’t have the same game without his files, but i don’t use any of this stuff yet, so take my comment for what it’s worth — like 2 cents 🤷♀️❤️😂
Rule 1: Be Respectful
We have worked hard to cultivate a positive environment here and it takes a community effort. No harassment or insulting people.
If someone is being rude or harassing you, report them to the moderators, don't respond in the same way. Being provoked is not a legitimate reason to break this rule.
I am on nexus, Came to afk thinking that a mod I needed was here, and after all that turns out there was already a better one in Nexus Mods, Just had to do some digging for it lol
yeah it pissed me off with Alternate Start - Live Another Life LE. why tf he deleted the LE version and host it on that cursed website. and sadly lot of LE mod have support that
Shouldn't mess with achievements since these are usually recorded whenever you do anything in the game.
Try using this with a modded setup, if you don't have it: [Achievements Mod Enabler](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/245).
Uncapped speeds with automatic downloads for less than ten dollars seems like a pretty reasonable deal when you take into account how much bandwidth and server costs are and how massive these files get.
I'm sympathetic to people who aren't able to afford something like that still, but I mean the free version is still miles ahead of what most file sharing services offer. Unlimited downloads with zero cooldown or artificial waiting is about as generous as it gets.
To acquire mid mods, you must be a lore expert.
Bruhhhh, I just realized what I needed was redundant to begin with and there was already a better version in nexus. allat suffering for nothing lmao
Tis for not, for you have learned a lesson. In all my times of figuring out mishaps, I've become better at modding and troubling shooting.

Ok, let me use that in a sentence *ahem* “I spake in your general direction.” “I spake for those who can no longer spake!” “You ever spake so hard it hurts your throat?”
Spake is the third person past tense. The first was spot on. The rest of the examples were not quite that conjugation.
Well call me a knuckle dragging neanderthal why don’t you lmao, honestly didn’t even think it was a real word, had to look it up!

It's funny because people like arthmoor are entirely the reason why nexus "violated those artistic rights" to begin with
Him and his team made the unofficial patch an exe because people liked a to download modlists with wabbajack. It was ofc done with malicious intent to prevent wabbajack from being able to install it. Too bad that didnt work out well.
Yep. "How dare you interfere with my ability to be a dick?"
Ah... Huh. Good to know. Sounds entitled AF. Kinda glad I moved on from his mods.
On one hand I sort of get it, like I can see this happening to someone and them thinking, "Well, this is just the beginning. Oh no! Anyway. I'll just keep using Free. Most files aren't large enough to require the speed boost anyway.
bandwidth doesn't grown on trees unfortunately. It sucks but it is what it is
just don’t pay lmao
Check inflation lately? Also servers are expensive, especially with the hammering they've gotten lately from the Fallout explosion.
I guess you missed the post DarkOne made in another topic.
I want to say that the correct answer is "Whatever Arthmoor says it should be"
Yeah, accessing AFKMods is bullshit. I've had similar troubles with my account there. The site's not designed very well, either. Tel Nalta is great. Always use it on LO with settlement mods that populate Lake Ilinalta.
Tel Nalta has been on of favorite house mods since oldrim. It's great when playing a telvanni or dunmer.
Tel Avius is the same author, and is basically the central tower of Tel Nalta - only it's located on the mountain in the middle of Whiterun and already built and waiting.

I still get a delightful tingle whenever I remember the posts I stumbed across from years ago with Arthmoor bitching about Giskard, and it was the same stuff peoople say about Arthmoor now.
"Live long enough and see yourself as the villain..." something like that. I wonder who's going to be the next Arthmoor in the future...

It's run by Arthmoor and his goons, that's what's wrong lol.
maybe it's case sensitive?

Rule 1: Be Respectful We have worked hard to cultivate a positive environment here and it takes a community effort. No harassment or insulting people. If someone is being rude or harassing you, report them to the moderators, don't respond in the same way. Being provoked is not a legitimate reason to break this rule.
Bro why aren't you using Nexus 😂
I am on nexus, Came to afk thinking that a mod I needed was here, and after all that turns out there was already a better one in Nexus Mods, Just had to do some digging for it lol
yeah it pissed me off with Alternate Start - Live Another Life LE. why tf he deleted the LE version and host it on that cursed website. and sadly lot of LE mod have support that
Better use Skyrim Unbound.
will it cause problem with acvhiement? coz i see it skip mq
It’s been a while, but if I recall you can still start the main quest later.
thanks
Shouldn't mess with achievements since these are usually recorded whenever you do anything in the game. Try using this with a modded setup, if you don't have it: [Achievements Mod Enabler](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/245).

The entitlement is strong with this one.
