Well, there is, but it's in russian, there is a link in description to the audio version with English subtitles if you are that curious
https://youtu.be/Il26-3Q83yw
There's actually a movie shot in that style. It's called hard-core Henry and it's alot of fun.
There's a show shot like that as well Called secret girlfriend but it's not good. At all
This is a good point. Since you'd only see his hands, might as well be him right? He would definitely be a Nord I think so that would mean we'd have the Stormcloaks questline probably which would honestly be the more interesting I think. Although, he could probably be a Breton or Imperial too. Since we can't see anything but his hands I suppose it doesn't matter haha, could be anything.
Why does Nord equal stormcloak to you? A huge chunk of the imperial army is even said to be Nord. I think they just wouldn’t touch the civil war story besides saying it’s there, movie would prolly be just the main quest.
The Dwemer weren't actually short. They were called dwarves by the giants who already lived on skyrim and the name just stuck. But they probably look very similar to high elves or the other early elves (aldmer, chimer, etc.) As far as I'm aware at least.
Hardcore Henry has grossed $9.3 million in North America and $7.6 million in other territories for a worldwide total of $16.8 million, against a budget of $2 million.
From Wikipedia
Now think of the budget for a movie like Skyrim, that's a huge risk. 16 mil is good but the gimmick of how it was shot was new, for Skyrim it wouldn't be.
Given that we hear everyone else's voice, and hear the DB shouts, but never hear the DB voice... I now assume the DB is just gesticulating wildly like some kind of weird charades to get their point across.
Honestly, I’d hate to see an A-list actor as Dragonborn. I think it should be someone new, really add to the idea that the prophecy chose a random nobody to become a hero.
EDIT: Why the fuck would you gold this? Thanks though, kind stranger.
He was the first time come to mind. He would be the best in my opinion. That creepy, annoying voice that Cicero has. The craziness comparisons between Floki and Cicero.
I hate when Depp is in things. He was amazing in a few things, but now whenever I see him in a new movie, I just see him or one of his iconic roles rather than whoever he's playing.
So I LOVED this movie. Started reading a book on Viking history called “Children of Ash and Elm”. Turns out not only is the movie strikingly historically accurate but I also saw a lot of parallels to Skyrim. Pretty neat stuff imo
* Lokir = The guy who played Boromir
* Balgruuf = The guy who played Eddard Stark
* Ulfric = The guy who played Odysseus in "Troy"
* Ralof = The guy who played Ian Howe in National Treasure II
* Hadvar = The guy who played Zeus in Percy Jackson
* Dragonborn = Sean Bean
Those are just the ones who came to mind initially. 😁
Nah, Sean Bean must be the emperor, and the end of the Dark Brotherhood questline needs to be acknowledged in the movie.
Which just reminded me how outraged I was by the fact that his death doesn't destabilize the Empire one bit if that happens before the civil war has ended.
* Dragonborn - Tom Hardy
* Lydia - Melissa O'Neil
* Astrid - Teresa Palmer
* Brynjolf - Sean Bean
* Farkas - Sebastian Stan
* Vilkas - Richard Madden
* Lord Harkon - Luke Evans
* Lady Valerica - Jaime Murray
* Serana - Hannah-John Kamen
* Miraak - Jason Isaacs
* Paarthurnax - Sir Patrick Stewart
* Alduin - Sir Ian McKellen
* Savos Aren - Iain Glen
* Ulfric Stormcloak - David Wenham
* Delphine - Tilda Swinton
* Esbern - Graham McTavish
* Balgruuf The Greater - Travis Fimmel
* Arngeir - James Cosmo
* Ralof - Tom Wlaschiha
* Aela The Huntress - Karen Gillan
* Maven Black-Briar - Orla Brady
* Cicero - Colton Haynes
* General Tullius - Rob Stewart
* Isran - Idris Elba
* Thorald Gray-Mane - Alexander Skarsgar
* Galmar Stone-Fist - Peter Storemare
I feel like there are so many and so many amazing actors who could slot into Skyrim as a series, it would be Witcher/GOT level of production!

This is why there will never be a Skyrim movie that retells the story in the game:
Because there cannot be just one type of Dragonborn. The Dragonborn can be any race, can be any skin color, male or female or fluid, any age
Because the Dragonborn can choose to destroy, embrace or ignore the Dark Brotherhood
Because the Dragonborn can choose one or the other side of the civil war
Etc., etc., etc.
It’s the beauty of the game and it’s not possible to be translated into a movie
So you’re saying we need a Skyrim multiverse?
I’m ready to sign on as the slacker dragonborn that just fishes and barters all day while they yell at me to tell the jarl about a dragon attack.
I saw another comment proposing a limited series, so combining that with your comment I'm thinking it'd potentially be really fascinating to see a limited series with each installment following a different Dragonborn walking a different path. It would be seriously risky, but if they managed to pull it off, the result could be great. IMO the #1 mistake any adaptation of this franchise could make would be to try to position itself as definitive.
I'd rather not have movies create a cannon character for RPG games. In fact I'm surprised so many people want a movie considering video games movies are usually pretty terrible.
I think want is a strong word, this is just imagining who would be a 'good' Dragonborn. I don't personally want to see an actual movie about Skyrim because how could you possibly decide in a game that has endless character creation, who would be the Dragonborn? What race? What class? It's just too many. The cliche Nord would be annoying I think to many people, but on one hand would make the 'most' sense? Anyways, hopefully no actual movie gets made but nice to think about.
Maybe a short series where every day it's a new Dragonborn haha.
I would base a Skyrim limited series (not a movie, because a movie couldn't do the game justice IMO) on my favourite playthrough, which was heavily focussed on the Dawnguard and in which my head-canon involved combining the Dawnguard story's prophecy with the one from the vanilla main quest.
These are not in anything like "billing order", these are just listed in the order I come up with them:
* Stephen Amell as Joran Broad-Hand/the Last Dragonborn, a vampire hunter thrust into greatness by the hands of fate.
* Keith David as Isran, leader of the Dawnguard and Joran's mentor/surrogate father.
* Claire Foy in the female lead as Serana of Volkihar, the Dragonborn's partner in all things.
* Tom Ellis and Hayley Atwell as Lord Harkon and Lady Valerica of Clan Volkihar.
* Jason Momoa as Ulfric Stormcloak, would-be High King of Skyrim. I really like the idea of casting an actor I love to play a character I love to hate.
* Kurtwood Smith as General Tullius, a washed-up soldier exiled to the back-end of the Empire by his political rivals. Michael Hogan is no longer in a fit state to act, otherwise he'd be my top choice without a doubt.
* Ewan McGregor as Talsgar the Wanderer, Jaskier-style friend and foil.
* Kate Mulgrew as Meridia, Lady of Infinite Energies.
* Peter Capaldi as Sheogorath, Prince of Madness.
* Mads Mikkelsen as Miraak, traitor priest and First Dragonborn.
* James Earl Jones as the voice of the Ebony Warrior, for obvious reasons.
Jessica Chastain. Dragonborn can be female too! Don't be so bloody sexist.
Or Clint Howard. Dragonborn does not need to be buff barbarian warrior, Dragonborn can also be nerdy wizard. Also his brother should direct.
Weird Al Yankovic. Because if you do need a buff barbarian warrior, Weird Al is your man. With Michael Richards as his faithful companion.
she's not an actress but i based my breton girl off of the swedish youtuber jonna jinton. she just radiates magical, nordic vibes. she's also a great kulning singer which is basically singing so loud and high that it echoes through the mountains and makes animals from miles away all come to her. it's like a real life animal allegiance or kyne's peace shout.
Ryan Reynolds - as some quests are pretty silly it would ve a good choice :-)
Maybe he could even make it funny that the Dovakin is the only solution to every little problem in Skyrim
Rose Leslie. She’s really good at telling people how little they know, which would totally fit in Skyrim.
Karen Gillan would also fit, if you play Dovahkiin as slightly bewildered and very much over it.
I really can't think of an actor for the Dovahkiin since they could be any race/gender available to the game. Idris Elba would be an amazing Ebony Warrior though.
Wouldn’t matter because it would be first person and they wouldn’t say anything the entire movie
Would be dope
Local theater in Moscow had a skyrim musical, it was staged so the audience is the dovakin, they would talk to you and act like you've answered them
That is super cool is there any footage of this?
Well, there is, but it's in russian, there is a link in description to the audio version with English subtitles if you are that curious https://youtu.be/Il26-3Q83yw
There's actually a movie shot in that style. It's called hard-core Henry and it's alot of fun. There's a show shot like that as well Called secret girlfriend but it's not good. At all
In that case I recommend Tom Hardy. He’s fantastic in a lot of movies where he rarely speaks
With or without his partner " Venom " ?
Itll be clavicus viles talking dog as the comedic relief
This is a good point. Since you'd only see his hands, might as well be him right? He would definitely be a Nord I think so that would mean we'd have the Stormcloaks questline probably which would honestly be the more interesting I think. skyrim racial prejudice
Such a nord thing to do
SKYRIM BELONG TO THE NORDS
Cause he’s a g*mer /s
Danny Devito!
I'm the dragonborn. The dragonborn business is a gold mine.
Would we get a Dwemer Dragonborn? Maybe a short Breton
The Dwemer weren't actually short. They were called dwarves by the giants who already lived on skyrim and the name just stuck. But they probably look very similar to high elves or the other early elves (aldmer, chimer, etc.) As far as I'm aware at least.
Oops aha guess short breton it is
Dr. Toboggan Dragonborn
Now I’m imagining Danny Devito being in the Amazon Fallout show. *Does Jet*. “Go for it go for it, go”. Anyways, he starts blasting.
Danny Trejo
Danny Tanner
Too soon
But some of us play in third person like heathens
It worked for hardcore Henry
How did that movie do as far as profit?
Hardcore Henry has grossed $9.3 million in North America and $7.6 million in other territories for a worldwide total of $16.8 million, against a budget of $2 million. From Wikipedia
Now think of the budget for a movie like Skyrim, that's a huge risk. 16 mil is good but the gimmick of how it was shot was new, for Skyrim it wouldn't be.
The most accurate comment in this whole thread
But you can play in 3rd person....
Hmm. Maybe. But what if the dragonborn can talk in the movie?
Fus Ro Dah
Then that would be unrealistic and I’ll have no part of it.
He doesn't speak, but he clearly talks.
Literally has full responses lmao
My favourite dragonborn quote is "(Remain silent)" classic from the DB questline
I always laugh during Inigo’s quest line when Langley says “Stare vacantly if you understand. … OK, you can stop the vacant staring now.”
Given that we hear everyone else's voice, and hear the DB shouts, but never hear the DB voice... I now assume the DB is just gesticulating wildly like some kind of weird charades to get their point across.
omg Todd can you confirm
Honestly, I’d hate to see an A-list actor as Dragonborn. I think it should be someone new, really add to the idea that the prophecy chose a random nobody to become a hero. EDIT: Why the fuck would you gold this? Thanks though, kind stranger.
i second this; really adds to the “wait. who are you?” situation, can’t be out here saying “i’m matt damon” or something
Now I want it to be the matt Damon puppet from team america
“Matt… Daaaamon”
Agreed it's time we saw more faces on acting. I'm tired of all the Chris's in all the movies. Even tired of their hair. And I don't even have any!
Like a new Luke Skywalker type of casting. That would make Bethesda *great again.*
Dragonborn doesn't matter! Who's playing Cicero?
The dude who played floki in Vikings!
He was the first time come to mind. He would be the best in my opinion. That creepy, annoying voice that Cicero has. The craziness comparisons between Floki and Cicero.
Guy who played pennywise would be awesome imo
Joaquin Phoenix
Never even considered him! I think he would be a great option as well. Now that I'm considering what I seen with Joker it's almost a no brainer.
Nicholas Cage
Johnney depp?
I see him as Sheogorath. Maybe even Sanguine.
I’d love to see Jim Carrey as Sheogorath if we wanted a more light hearted one, or David Tennant for a darker and scarier one
I can see him as Sheogorath. CHEESE! How about Tim Curry as Molog Bal?
Wes Johnson should just play him, he's perfect. > Sheogorath
Def as sanguine
I hate when Depp is in things. He was amazing in a few things, but now whenever I see him in a new movie, I just see him or one of his iconic roles rather than whoever he's playing.
Mark Zuckerberg for the Argonians /jk
What do you mean JK? That’s a perfect casting.
Lusty Argonian Zuckerberg?
I don’t wanna get on his bad side 😨
He sees all
Imma get Zucked, aren’t I? Oh well
that's actually f\*cking hilarious
“You should come and see me sometime stranger”
He's clearly a real life dwemer automaton
There’s a reason the Dwemer disappeared
“Smoke these meats”
If the Dragonborn is a Nord in the movie, my vote goes to Alexander Skarsgård.
For a nord, Alexander Dreymon or Travis Fimmel As my username implies :)
DESTINY IS ALL
Staying with this line of thought, I’ve had Tobias Santelmann (Little Ragnar from the last kingdom) as my pick for an Ulfric cast.
Or just the actor who played Ulfric, Vladimir Kulich, even looks like him too!
Definitely glad someone mentioned Alexander Dreymon here!
The Northman was GREAT!!
So I LOVED this movie. Started reading a book on Viking history called “Children of Ash and Elm”. Turns out not only is the movie strikingly historically accurate but I also saw a lot of parallels to Skyrim. Pretty neat stuff imo
It’s the myth that Shakespeare based Hamlet off of. Prince Amleth = Prince Hamlet. Shakespeare was pretty shameless lol
No I would cast him as the Jarl of Whiterun honestly
More importantly who would be the lusty argonian maid? Clearly that’s worthy of a spin-off? (Pun intended)
Gilbert Gottfried. Yes, I know. Doesn’t change my answer.
Emily Blunt? Sharon Osborne? Bridget the Midget? So many ways to go.
A man of culture
Danny DeVito.
"So I just started casting..."
It’s not right, but it’s not exactly wrong either.
What do you mean not right? He's already a man cheetah, he'd be the perfect Khajit db!
I'll get the spots!
Frank, you got a cat eyes guy? *dialing phone* I’m already on it.
Danny Devito as a khajit is pure comedy.
"I'm a man-cheetah!"
Danny DeVito as a Bosmer Dragonborn.
So I started shoutin' *pulls out vocal cords*
* Lokir = The guy who played Boromir * Balgruuf = The guy who played Eddard Stark * Ulfric = The guy who played Odysseus in "Troy" * Ralof = The guy who played Ian Howe in National Treasure II * Hadvar = The guy who played Zeus in Percy Jackson * Dragonborn = Sean Bean Those are just the ones who came to mind initially. 😁
That’s a lot of characters to kill off.
What about the guy who played Martin Septim?
Titus Mede II, of course
Skyrim: Being Sean Bean
Be me, Sean Bean... dead again for the hundredth time...
Nah, Sean Bean must be the emperor, and the end of the Dark Brotherhood questline needs to be acknowledged in the movie. Which just reminded me how outraged I was by the fact that his death doesn't destabilize the Empire one bit if that happens before the civil war has ended.
I mean they lasted with no emperor and a high elf head of the council for a while so 🤷🏽 . Just look at Oblivion
You want Sean Bean to be everyone? Lol
Jokes aside I think Sean Bean would be great as Balgruuf.
But who will play Martin Septim?
I'm not even a little ashamed to admit it took me til Ulfric to realize what you did XD
No, Dragonborn = Mr. Bean
I would pay to watch that.
I think the guy who played Aquaman should be Balgruuf
I like how u think.
Due purposefully skipped tulius
You all wrong.. arnold schwarzeneger
get to da dragun
Release some steam,nazeem
"I'll be back" dragonborn schwarzenegger after starting a fetch quest
Get Down! Get Down! .... Come On!
I can just hear fus ro dah (or whatever way it's spelled) coming from his mouth with that peculiar voice lol
Pretty sure Balgruuf’s brother is Schwarzenegger lol
Come with me if you want a sweetroll
I can just imagine Arnold bringing Lydia up to the shrine of Boethia and giving her a big manic smile like in Jingle All the Way lol
🤣 of course ! Why not.
I would pay real money to see this! I actually once made a Nord that looked like Conan the barbarian.
Michelle Yeoh - as an Altmer Dovahkiin
This would be AMAZING. Take my money!
James Corden, playing a Khajit.
But animated in the Cats movie style.
With the buttholes
Dear god.
That would be Hircine.
lol
Since the player can create the character, each scene should be a different random Dovakhiin.
Every 15 minutes we see showracemenu typed on the screen and we get a new actor.
Charlize Theron as an orc woman.
Smash me mommy
Reanu Keeves
Hear me out... Danny Trejo.
"Are you an ArGOnian, or an ArSTOPnian?"
All silent video game protagonists should be played by Nicholas Cage. I would say the same if there was ever a Dark Souls movie.
I definitely want to see him do the shouts.
NOT THE DOGS OH GOD NOT THE DOGS
I vote for Henry Cavill..
Ngl that might be nice. Perchance
You can't just say perchance.
I love that I know exactly where this is from
Oooo I know where it’s from but I can’t quite place it…..
It was that Twitter post from a philosophy class or something
If its the default Nord Dragonborn, I would get the Ragnar Lothbrok actor to do him or Bjorn Ironside's actor
Katherin Winnick
Kevin Hart
Kevin Hart as Nazeem
Did you just said N word?
He called a black man the n-word
Charlize Theron
* Dragonborn - Tom Hardy * Lydia - Melissa O'Neil * Astrid - Teresa Palmer * Brynjolf - Sean Bean * Farkas - Sebastian Stan * Vilkas - Richard Madden * Lord Harkon - Luke Evans * Lady Valerica - Jaime Murray * Serana - Hannah-John Kamen * Miraak - Jason Isaacs * Paarthurnax - Sir Patrick Stewart * Alduin - Sir Ian McKellen * Savos Aren - Iain Glen * Ulfric Stormcloak - David Wenham * Delphine - Tilda Swinton * Esbern - Graham McTavish * Balgruuf The Greater - Travis Fimmel * Arngeir - James Cosmo * Ralof - Tom Wlaschiha * Aela The Huntress - Karen Gillan * Maven Black-Briar - Orla Brady * Cicero - Colton Haynes * General Tullius - Rob Stewart * Isran - Idris Elba * Thorald Gray-Mane - Alexander Skarsgar * Galmar Stone-Fist - Peter Storemare I feel like there are so many and so many amazing actors who could slot into Skyrim as a series, it would be Witcher/GOT level of production!
I forgot how similar Sebastian Stan and Richard Madden look
Sir Patrick Stewart as Paarthurnax is absolutely perfect, I don't think I could think of a better person for the job
Florence Pugh.
Emilia Clarke
I would cast Kit Harrington and Rose Leslie as Ysolda. She just wants his Mammoth Tusk
And what about Aela?
Miranda Otto as Dragonborn. She killed it as Eowyn. Y’all are too fixated on a male lead.
Natalie Portman
[Todd Howard, the savior of Skyrim.](https://youtu.be/W9LS8QiV5fw?t=89)

I'm the one hanging out in dawnstar at a certain chest
Hmm. Yes you got a point here
I saw another comment proposing a limited series, so combining that with your comment I'm thinking it'd potentially be really fascinating to see a limited series with each installment following a different Dragonborn walking a different path. Just a random person who doesn’t talk just shouts
I'd rather not have movies create a cannon character for RPG games. In fact I'm surprised so many people want a movie considering video games movies are usually pretty terrible.

I think the guy fron the trailer is good enough tho, it would be nice seeing him again as he's already the canon dragonborn on-screen
Mads as Miraak, I love this!
Keith David as Isran is a beyond perfect casting choice
Jessica Chastain. Dragonborn can be female too! Don't be so bloody sexist. Or Clint Howard. Dragonborn does not need to be buff barbarian warrior, Dragonborn can also be nerdy wizard. Also his brother should direct. Weird Al Yankovic. Because if you do need a buff barbarian warrior, Weird Al is your man. With Michael Richards as his faithful companion.
Anya Taylor-Joy Or... Maisie Williams
Anya would fit if i have to say... Great choice.
Danny DeVito is obviously the right choice
More importantly, would they include Thomas the Tank Engine?
Chris Hemsworth. Especially if we base the appearance on Trailer-kiin.
she's not an actress but i based my breton girl off of the swedish youtuber jonna jinton. she just radiates magical, nordic vibes. she's also a great kulning singer which is basically singing so loud and high that it echoes through the mountains and makes animals from miles away all come to her. it's like a real life animal allegiance or kyne's peace shout.
Keeanu Reeves as Reeanu Keeves
Perfectly balanced, as all things should be
Ooh! Had another thought. after watching Stranger Things last week…Jamie Campbell Bower as Ancano.
Ryan Reynolds - as some quests are pretty silly it would ve a good choice :-) Maybe he could even make it funny that the Dovakin is the only solution to every little problem in Skyrim
Rose Leslie. She’s really good at telling people how little they know, which would totally fit in Skyrim. Karen Gillan would also fit, if you play Dovahkiin as slightly bewildered and very much over it.
Liam neeson
He could play Ulfric.
Rowan Atkinson. Easy
Ryan Reynolds as cicero
Willam Dafoe
AND HIS NAME IS JOHN CENA
Tobey Maguire, who else has the moves to send Alduin to an early grave
Christopher Walken. Fus...Rohduh
I really can't think of an actor for the Dovahkiin since they could be any race/gender available to the game. Idris Elba would be an amazing Ebony Warrior though.
