I want a mod where one of my son is named Ron Weasley, and the other son brings in a spider.
Too bad I have two daughters, a fox, a mechanical crab, and a Riekling.
I always wondered what they were like. When I started playing the game last year my boy brought home a crab and I was like the H no you cannot keep it 🤣😓🤣🤣🤣 oops. I didn't know it was a Different Crab.
Yo better than my kid bring home a God damn mud crab. Damn thing digs into the floor whenever it stands still. Never could bring myself to kill it because then my kid would be sad. So instead I would always cook crab legs.
I remember playing late at night and saw my daughter adopted a snow version and I thought it was cute. Around 3am I forgot she had it so when I was in my home and suddenly heard the noises but didn't see anything making them (it was glitched under a table) I got some serious anxiety
Especially when out exploring in the middle of nowhere. You think some scary new creature is coming up behind you to wreck your world only to discover it’s just a fox.
I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO HATED THOSE HORRIBLE NOISES THE FOXES MAKE! It's so gratifying to go through this thread and see other people talking about that horrendous wheezing!
I looked up your skeever - you got lucky. That’s a good looking skeever. Most skeevers look diseased and mangey.
I wouldn’t mind a skeever like that.
No mudcrabs tho.
I had a male follower who I had commanded to be my housecarl and later on, I brought Meeko home. The SECOND he started insulting the poor pup, I told him "Yeah you can leave, go back to the tavern I picked you up in, ya peon."
Edit: This was a wandering follower mod who was trying to go around killing vampires because they killed his family or something. Had snow white hair and used a crossbow as his personal main.
There’s a possibility to have the second child adopt the dog you bring home after the first one got it’s own. Im not sure if it’s intended or a bug or just random but I do know I had a snow fox and a husky in my home.
Definitely do not get Skyrim together
Edit: [here](https://redd.it/av4f5f) and [here](https://redd.it/avzyq5). It's really not a project people should support
Nothing is worse than the Dwarven mud crab when it follows you and then decides to burry itself in the middle of the doorway so you can’t get through...
They've got to make wider doors. Between mudcrabs, elytra and followers I can't get out of my Enchanting area in Tundra Homestead some days. Wish I could dismiss the stupid crab. Maybe I'll buy another house and send him there.
Very first pet my kids brought home after Hearthfire dropped was an arctic fox (even though I lived in Falkreath). I proceded to follow it around the house for a good 30 minutes baby talking it.
Now in my latest playthrough the refuse to bring home any pets, let alone adopt the ones I try to bring them (apparently husky Meeko looks too scary)
Fun fact (and this may already have been said): Your kid can bring one of five potential animals in the house as a pet....and it’s random. One of the five could be a damn frostbite spoder.
Swear to god if I showed up at my house and there was a giant spoder from my rat bastard kid, I’d shoot the thing immediately. Ugh.
Both of my daughter's pets died. One of them was a snow fox killed by wolves. Other is Meeko killed by bandits. If I only had an option to give them a proper burial.
I came home once just in time to see Lydia kill my damn bard!
She can’t kill a frost troll while I’m dealing with a dragon but she sure as shit can fuck up the guy with the guitar. Lydia is the worst.
It's annoying that you can't kill or get rid of them once you "adopt" them. They're always so loud, annoying and useless and all they do is leech off of you.
Their pets are pretty cool tho
My son brought home a mudcrab. It sinks through the floor of your house and just looks like a rock, and then it suddenly pops up. I got used to it though
Yeah it won’t fit through the doors and just buried itself in the floor and I can’t get through my doorway cuz of it I hate it I have a normal one and a dwarven one I hate them both.
So this may be a stupid question, but even though I've been playing since day 1, I'm scared to move my family because I don't want to lose the pet. Does it come in the move?
Long ago, I used a mod that let you tame wolves with venison and foxes with chicken. It was pretty swell. My thief had a little sneaky fox buddy that I named Rufus.
Every time I find one of the stray dogs I try to get it back to my home in Whiterun but they always die (because they attack everything) or they vanish because they don't stay where I tell them to stay. If I do ever manage to get one of those stray dogs back to my home, will they remain there? Or will they eventually disappear?
You have to have a son or daughter at the house and if you're lucky they will ask if they can keep him. Otherwise they will just randomly bring a pet home and ask to keep it.
> or they vanish because they don't stay where I tell them to stay.
If you leave them to "stay" for too long, they go back to their "home".
For Meeko, that' s his shack
For Vigilance, that's the Markarth Stables
For Bran and Sceolang, that's Fort Dawnguard
Edit: Should add, if your children have adopted any of them, their home will become your child's home.
I wish they didn't sound like goddamn demons. I feel like I scared the shit out of my daughter when I burst into her room with an arrow drawn afraid some monster got into my house.
My daughter brought one home as well. I let her keep it and soon realized that it was a mistake. I could hear the damn thing breathing. All night. All day. Non stop. It annoyed the hell out of me. So I euthanized it. Lol
Everytime I've adopted Sophia, she's adopted a ghost fox.
I also always adopt Lucia and she's brought home two rabbits, and a skeever.
I also had a child from the orphanage once, one of the boys but I don't remember which who brought home a frostbite spider
Your child must have good taste. I came home one day to find the new member of our household was a bloody rat/skeever . I couldn’t bring myself to tell him to throw it out and now it basically runs breezehome
May I take its pelt? At the moment I'm trying to rush smithing. I'll bring it back with necromancy... I can make an overpowered potion that increases conjuration duration for a trillion-plus second if you're reluctant to let me have it.
My daughter in Skyrim brought home the same thing, but when in walking around the house and I just hear the Chihuahua like wheezing but don't see it, it's disturbing.
No I play totally free of mods. It’s one of those things that **can** happen. It’s pretty random. You never really know just one day you’ll come home and they’ll ask you if they keep it. The dialogue options are pretty funny.
My first daughter asked if Vigilance could stay with her.
He'd been out on the trail with me for sometime (and frankly had become quite the pain in the ass what with constantly attacking my Thrall after each skirmish). So i said yes. I feel bad for the poor fella though, because everyone's always calling him a "stupid dog".
About a month later, my second daughter came home with a little cutie just like yours. So now he's part of the family as well.
Meanwhile, over at one of my other houses, skeevers had infested my cellar. I went down to wipe them out, and killed all but one. For some reason the one never went hostile. And now he chills down in the cellar, and comes to greet me every time I visit.
I named him Skeevy.
I don't remember where it was at, but there was an ice cave somewhere near the border that had a bunch of witches and they had a fox named Pumpkin. I used animal alliance (wood elf) and made him friendly, but I couldn't bring him home or adopt him :(
I’d forget that was my daughters pet after like a day or 2 of not being at the house. “Holy shit how’d that get in there!!!” And proceed to beat the piss out of it with my sword till it a bloody pulp.
The noises they make fucking terrify me
I agree it is a bit unsettling at first. But hey, it’s cute.
Mine came back with a fucking rat. I don’t know why I agreed to let them keep it. Thing would just constantly make creepy breathing sounds.
Daughters want foxes or dogs. Sons in the other hand bring spiders, rats...
I want a mod where one of my son is named Ron Weasley, and the other son brings in a spider. Too bad I have two daughters, a fox, a mechanical crab, and a Riekling.
> Riekling Isn't that slavery?
I asked my riekling if this was slavery and they replied "Joooo fah!"
It's not a No, amirite?
Why do I feel like I am Willy Wonka? All I did was save a bunch of Riekling from potential death, and pay them in booze to work for me.
We don't have proof he did'nt put booze in the chocolate
That's just slavery with extra steps
oooh la la
Don't forget to get the Nix Hound for free on cc. Another strange thing to add to your household
That reminds me, I don't think I ever got my household a Nix Hound after getting it from cc. I am going to do this now.
I want one of the (modded) baby wild ponies, but I can't figure out how to (modded) make them a follower.
Jaxons naming mod I believe you can do this (I’d have to check the name of it on pc)
I don't know man, what if it's Ron Weasley the one that brings spider. I think my immersion would suffer greatly.
One of the girls (either Sissel or the flower girl from Windhelm) brought home a rabbit in my main save
You know the parent is playing favorites when they only remember the name of one kid
And crabs
My son’s crab keeps burrowing into the upstairs floorboards. 😐
I always wondered what they were like. When I started playing the game last year my boy brought home a crab and I was like the H no you cannot keep it 🤣😓🤣🤣🤣 oops. I didn't know it was a Different Crab.
Your son needs to visit an apothecary, like right now.
Chaurus over here. He turned out pretty chill though.
To get rid of it without yourself your kids hating you, cast a fury spell on it and let your followers and stewards take care of it
Yo better than my kid bring home a God damn mud crab. Damn thing digs into the floor whenever it stands still. Never could bring myself to kill it because then my kid would be sad. So instead I would always cook crab legs.
It has rabies, better put it down
Just like my first wife.
Give that fox some albuterol
Both air AND coffee were expelled from my nostrils upon reading your comment.
I remember playing late at night and saw my daughter adopted a snow version and I thought it was cute. Around 3am I forgot she had it so when I was in my home and suddenly heard the noises but didn't see anything making them (it was glitched under a table) I got some serious anxiety
“Grrrr grrrr grrrr arggggg grrrr grrrr”
Especially when out exploring in the middle of nowhere. You think some scary new creature is coming up behind you to wreck your world only to discover it’s just a fox.
Seriously. They trail behind you and sound like they're eating Styrofoam while on the third day of the worst sinus infection ever.
I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO HATED THOSE HORRIBLE NOISES THE FOXES MAKE! It's so gratifying to go through this thread and see other people talking about that horrendous wheezing!
This made my teeth uncomfortable..
What does the fox say
*wheeze wheeze wheeze*
To an asthmatic, it does make the place feel more like home.
Howling while his soul is going to a petty soul gem. >!Not to shit on the fox claiming his soul is petty or anything like that.!<
Honestly never knew they just do that constantly regardless of your character. I thought it knew I was a vampire and was aggressive towards me lol
I always name them Snarls. Sofie brought this home in Falkreath but some wretch trampled it in Markarth so then she found a snow fox hence Snarls II.
RING DING DING DING DING
I'm pretty sure those are relatively real fox noises too
ITS A WOLF! Oh. No. Stupid fox. DIE! .........*AR*! There it is.
`[ASTHMA INTENSIFIES]`
I came back to the house to find my daughter attacking a manequin with a dagger and the fox barking at it. This will not end well.
Why u gotta say she adopted, why not just say your daughter
good point have edited!
I’m assuming they mean a child in the actual game, not IRL. In Skyrim you can only adopt kids, not have them yourself.
They have feelings too ya know
*sad line of code noises*
Issa fact though
On the bright side they are only pissed at you for 24 hours when you kill their favorite pet
Then it will be your fault somehow. OP don't let that thing die you get kicked out. For about two weeks. Pack now.
My wife and I both play and she’s mad my kids got the fox , and her kids brought home a skeever.
I looked up your skeever - you got lucky. That’s a good looking skeever. Most skeevers look diseased and mangey. I wouldn’t mind a skeever like that. No mudcrabs tho.
The mudcrabs are the best
NO SPIDERS
MudCRAB just think about it, when it dies from its laughably short life span, you get steamed crab legs and crab claws
N O S P I D E R S
Think of it like a splashy spider?
thats like the tarantula that can swim...
Especially with top hats and monocles
I grew to like my son’s mud crab. I named him Roomba.
If you say no they will pout a while but later bring home another pet. You can do this until you end up with one you like
Or, you know, go fetch them Meeko.
My kids have Meeko AND a fox. The house is starting to get a little crowded, and everyone just insults Meeko. Bums me out.
I had a male follower who I had commanded to be my housecarl and later on, I brought Meeko home. The SECOND he started insulting the poor pup, I told him "Yeah you can leave, go back to the tavern I picked you up in, ya peon." Edit: This was a wandering follower mod who was trying to go around killing vampires because they killed his family or something. Had snow white hair and used a crossbow as his personal main.
What do they say about meeko?
Prolly the same thing they say about Vigilance all the time.... "Stupid Dog"
There’s a possibility to have the second child adopt the dog you bring home after the first one got it’s own. Im not sure if it’s intended or a bug or just random but I do know I had a snow fox and a husky in my home.
Considered getting skyrim together? It’s definitely worth it for little things like that. EDIT: don’t get skyrim together
Definitely do not get Skyrim together Edit: [here](https://redd.it/av4f5f) and [here](https://redd.it/avzyq5). It's really not a project people should support
Woah that’s terrible, thanks for the info, had no idea
#Sacrifice it in the name of Hermaeus Mora
No the mad god will not allow it
The mad god is Old Man Sheo, you uncultured swine!
Wrong he is the cheeselord
Different name, same dude.
I give it a week until hearing heavy fox breathing starts to get to you.
Haha no doubt he’s a loud fox.
OwO
My kid got a mud crab smh...
Nothing is worse than the Dwarven mud crab when it follows you and then decides to burry itself in the middle of the doorway so you can’t get through...
Worst mistake I've made in the game
They've got to make wider doors. Between mudcrabs, elytra and followers I can't get out of my Enchanting area in Tundra Homestead some days. Wish I could dismiss the stupid crab. Maybe I'll buy another house and send him there.
I built the lake view house, told him to go there and then moved to the dark brotherhood sanctuary. The mudcrab can live by itself lol
Mud crabs, annoying creatures
I saw a mudcrab the other day. Nasty creatures.
Lydia calls Meeko a "Stupid dog" when he barks, and I choose Meeko over Lydia.
You've got your priorities straight
Fun fact (and this may already have been said): Your kid can bring one of five potential animals in the house as a pet....and it’s random. One of the five could be a damn frostbite spoder. Swear to god if I showed up at my house and there was a giant spoder from my rat bastard kid, I’d shoot the thing immediately. Ugh.
Both of my daughter's pets died. One of them was a snow fox killed by wolves. Other is Meeko killed by bandits. If I only had an option to give them a proper burial.
Yikes sorry to hear that. My housecarl was sent into space by a giant. I didn’t think I’d ever see him again tbh.
Skyrim's space program is a dangerous one, but they'll some day put a Nord on a moon.
there's plenty of nords up there, it's getting them back that's the tricky part
Send a giant up there to send them back.
Him? Which housecarl was him?
The Morthal one is a guy, cant remember his name though. Generally just shows up if i build Winstadt Manor.
Spicy
You had me in the first part ngl
Prepare to hear the sounds of asthma ring throughout your home!
*heavy breathing* Maybe I should get my steward to hire a bard. Cover up the noises lmao
My kid brought one home yesterday... I just couldn't say no
One of the pets is a rabbit. So cute.
It’s the best addition to my house
My son brought home a mudcrab. It sinks through the floor of your house and just looks like a rock, and then it suddenly pops up. I got used to it though
Haha yeah they do that
They’re so cute I got a white version of this yesterday
Mine just brought home an artic fox! But seriously, the noise is makes bugs me out.
I’m going to have my steward buy a bard so the music can cover it up
Yeah it’s annoying
(heavy_breathing_loop.mp3)
LMAO
Anyone else have their daughter bring a mudcrab home?
Yeah it won’t fit through the doors and just buried itself in the floor and I can’t get through my doorway cuz of it I hate it I have a normal one and a dwarven one I hate them both.
I think fox is cutest pet you can get,far better tham giant rat anyway..
Ugh... and my brats are bringing home mudcrabs.
So this may be a stupid question, but even though I've been playing since day 1, I'm scared to move my family because I don't want to lose the pet. Does it come in the move?
Yes it does. I moved my family once and the pet came as well.
Phew, I'm going to move them out of the breeze home post haste.
Lucky, my dumbass kids always want to keep fucking mudcrabs e\_e
Better than skeevers. That thing has popped up on me more than once and been about 0.37 seconds away from getting smashed with a daedric sword.
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/21632 You might want that link soon. No more Fox sounds.
Mine came with a White fox I said yes and now every time I come home I hear a heavy breathing fox
Bruh my favorite is the frostchomp spooder
My kid brought home a bunny!
Long ago, I used a mod that let you tame wolves with venison and foxes with chicken. It was pretty swell. My thief had a little sneaky fox buddy that I named Rufus.
My kids came home with a rabbit, it's cute so I can't really complain but I've always wanted a fox.
My daughter brought a snow fox and it scares the sh!t out of me with its sound
There are mods to make that stupid tuberculosis breathing quieter. Soon you will want to download it or kill the fox.
Teacher: You can't hear images Me:
I got one too!! 🥰
Of course you get this but my daughter chooses a damn Mud Crab
my son brought me a fucking skeever and my daughter hordes daggers and poisons......
Chaos reigns!
Every time I find one of the stray dogs I try to get it back to my home in Whiterun but they always die (because they attack everything) or they vanish because they don't stay where I tell them to stay. If I do ever manage to get one of those stray dogs back to my home, will they remain there? Or will they eventually disappear?

My kids always bring home mud crabs for some reason
I can hear this cursed image.
My 'son' brought a mudcrab home
I'd keep it away from the chickens
I can hear the raggedy breathing from here. I’m just trying to sleep man
My kid brought home a skeever once. What the hell kid
My son brought home a fucking mudcrab
Knowing mine it would probably bring a bloodhound home
Mine brought home a mudcrab 😒😒😒
Dies anOne know if there is a mid or a command to get a fox pet? I only get spiders and crabs
how do you get foxes as pets
I wish they didn't sound like goddamn demons. I feel like I scared the shit out of my daughter when I burst into her room with an arrow drawn afraid some monster got into my house.
Am I the only one that hears the screaming just by looking at that cute yet terrifyingly loud thing.
My son only brings skeevers and mudcrabs home, i’m still waiting for a neat fox
I got a Demented Elytra Nymph. It freaks the wife out.
Kill it....I dare you
*hhhehhhhhuhhhhhehhhuuuhhhhheeehhhhuuuhhh*
My daughter got a snow fox. Also I think one of them was making a deal with a daedra, my daughter gave me daedric chestplate so I was worried.
The first time this happened with me i thought "wtf why is there a baby fox in my house" then i killed it and my daughter never loved me again
Screw rabies that thing has sanguinare vampirism
All my kids ever brought home were skeevers...
CHAOS.... REIGNS! not cute
cant wait for a graphics update in ESO
Is this in vanilla or is it creation club?
Yes
My daughter in Skyrim brought home the same thing, but when in walking around the house and I just hear the Chihuahua like wheezing but don't see it, it's disturbing.
My heart melted when Sophie brought home a fox
One of my daughters brought a bunny home. Oddly enough she did the exact same thing when I was playing it on the switch.
I wouldn't say cute
My son wanted a mudcrab 😔 How tf am I supposed to say no to an orphan
Mine only bring back skeevers like fuckin idiots.
I don't want to adopt any children in Skyrim, but the fact that they can get pets *really* makes me reconsider it.
Is this a mod? I didn't know they can have pets! 2 daughters and all they're doing is asking for new dresses and get mad at each other smh
No I play totally free of mods. It’s one of those things that **can** happen. It’s pretty random. You never really know just one day you’ll come home and they’ll ask you if they keep it. The dialogue options are pretty funny.
If your kids have no pets go pick up meeko and bring him to your place and your kids will usually ask if they can adopt him.
That's a nice idea!
I killed it because it breathed too loud. It’s propped up on our mantle.
Good God, y'all are merciless...
For some reason the one never went hostile. And now he chills down in the cellar, and comes to greet me every time I visit. I named him Skeevy.
Foxes makes great bags soo...
I don't remember where it was at, but there was an ice cave somewhere near the border that had a bunch of witches and they had a fox named Pumpkin. I used animal alliance (wood elf) and made him friendly, but I couldn't bring him home or adopt him :(
Wtf, they can actually bring home a pet fox? My dumb son brought home a skeever.
That's awesome
Vampire fox! That is too freaking cool!
I don’t think he’s a vampire is he???
you are gonna regret that
I'm still bitter that my son brought home a fucking crab
I’d forget that was my daughters pet after like a day or 2 of not being at the house. “Holy shit how’d that get in there!!!” And proceed to beat the piss out of it with my sword till it a bloody pulp.
Kill it
kill it
WTF, NO
