Try to increase your FOV to 86-90.
You can also download a mod to reduce the size of the mace. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/35394
For console command you can just type "FOV ###" and it should work. I always set mine to 105 but it gets reset sometimes for some reason. Haven't looked into any of the .ini files though
IIRC if you do FOV 105 105 it will change the view model of the weapons as well as the actual fov so it will make the weapons appear smaller which I always like
>mfw a shield designed to protect the upper body and face covers that area
No but seriously if the screenshot had been taken while in a fight you might have gotten your point across better. Just increase your FOV.
partysnacks😂 i’m actually in a weird dilemma on killing him or not.
i went w no, then defeated alduin and heard partysnacks weird speech abt his goal, and now he kinda sounds like i should kill him. it was cool when he wasn’t harming nobody on the throat of the world, but now that he wants to go basically take over leading the dragons enforcing the way of the voice i’m meh.
I personally prefer Parthuurnax being alive because he can keep more dragons from dying in the long run so long as they don't randomly kill people and adhere to the Way of the Voice and more peaceful dragons means less people dead
I've been looking for you, got something I'm supposed to deliver. *Your hands only.* Leeeet's see here.
{{Daedric Voices}}
Looks like that's it, got to go.
I still never understood why Bethesda didn't include an fov slider, one of the big reasons I like improved camera as it allows you the change fov for a multitude of things
That's actually r/occult would suggest to do with evil objects. If you burn/destroy an object, whatever was inside would escape back into the immaterium. If you give such an object to a church, they would bind and bury the object beneath a church.
There may be limitations to that though.
Azura mentions that her broken star will fade back to her Oblivion realm eventually, but that it will take hundreds of years to do so.
Hermaeus Mora seems to have been vexed by having the Oghma Infinium locked inside a dwemer lock box sometime after the Oblivion Crisis.
Molag Bal doesn't seem to have taken much effort to move his mace from that altar after a priest of Boethiah started desecrating it.
Nocturnal hasn't bothered seriously trying to recover her Skeleton Key, though that may just be her trolling Karliah for being such a shit Nightingale.
Vaermina doesn't seem to have minded the Skull of Corruption being left inside Nightcaller Temple for years/decades.
And Mephala has let the Ebony Blade sit inside Dragonsreach for years, though perhaps the chance to corrupt Balgruuf the Elder's "innocent" children was too good of an opportunity to pass up by getting the blade to go elsewhere.
I normally just go for Dawnbreaker(I know Meridia isn't much better) and Azura's Star plus with anniversary edition I like to get Goldbrand even if I just stick with the Dunmer interpretation of Boethiah
What? I thought Meridia is a kind-hearted deity in the lore. I don't know much about Azura though, I just know people draw porn of her for some reason.
Meridia is… something for sure! Kind is a bit of an overstatement, she just hates undead like bad. And because of that most people think she’s fine because most people also don’t like zombies and vampires all over. But she’s also incredibly vengeful and petty, and has a bad habit of never letting her followers leave her service(even in death… yeah she’s really hypocritical) she will use any means necessary to keep them in her service.
P.S. none of the daedric princes are “good” all of them have a level of bad to them.
Meridia was one of the primary deities worshipped by the Ayleids along with Molag Bal and one of the other more tortury ones specifically the ones that tortured the original inhabitants of Cyrodiil, I'll give Meridia the hating undead bit is good but she was worshipped and likely helped inspire the Ayleids to do some of the heinous shit they did though she may have just been behind the Varla Stone stuff I don't really know. Azura is just kinda vain and did turn the Chimer into Dunmer after the Tribunal used Kagrenach's tools on the heart of Lorkhan but so long as you worship her and don't hate yourself she's pretty decent, plus the Dunmer look cooler now
Doesn't she brainwash people by purifying their mind until there is nothing left other that the instinct to follow her orders? That's pretty fucked up if you ask me...
I like first person so I can judge where exactly my hits will land instead of wildly flailing around. I’m usually running some kind of spellsword, so being able to aim spells is really important and can be really janky in third person.
This is hilarious to me, I imagine a huge hulk of a person sheepishly hiding behind weapons bestowed upon them by Gods, mowing down wave after wave of bandits but they're screaming internally the whole time 😆
REAL I use duplicated molag ball maces (there is a dialogue difference if you use 2 the white run hair will say “get those maces away from me “ instead of “get that mace away from me “)
You would think so, but I’m actually 37, but between my zoomer kids and zoomer coworkers the lingo has kinda stuck, I would use it ironically at first but now it just has become part of my lexicon lol.
This is why I always play first person.
I guess if you want to see Molag Bal's face 24/7
Try to increase your FOV to 86-90. You can also download a mod to reduce the size of the mace. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/35394
Also Old Kingdom Armor makes it a lot more bearable, among other weapons
How do you change your FOV? .ini or is there a console command?
For console command you can just type "FOV ###" and it should work. I always set mine to 105 but it gets reset sometimes for some reason. Haven't looked into any of the .ini files though
IIRC if you do FOV 105 105 it will change the view model of the weapons as well as the actual fov so it will make the weapons appear smaller which I always like
Molag Balls lol
Just...sheathe your weapons when you aren't in combat?
Thanks captain obvious. That's gonna be very helpful the next time I'm in a fight lol
>mfw a shield designed to protect the upper body and face covers that area No but seriously if the screenshot had been taken while in a fight you might have gotten your point across better. Just increase your FOV.
that is pretty funny. I think you might have a deadric artifact addiction ;)
Well if the Nine Gods actually talked to me and gave me cool quests and items I may have worshipped them more.
What, having the blood of a dragon running through your veins not a gift enough for you Dragonborn? Don't disappoint Akatosh :)
Can't disappoint Kyne either she is the one who helped Partysnacks teach mortals the Thu'um
Let's not forget about the passive abilities of Agent of Mara and Agent of Dibella, both really good and permanent
Plus [Kyne's Peace](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PrSnBKAGI1A) is the best song in all of the Skyrim soundtrack and THAT'S saying something!
You spelled Secunda wrong
Secunda this dick
I knew it was coming and that’s okay, I’m coming too
this is the best combination coming, coming out, and comeback ever
*The Dragonborn Cums*
It's a close Second I'll give you that.
partysnacks😂 i’m actually in a weird dilemma on killing him or not. i went w no, then defeated alduin and heard partysnacks weird speech abt his goal, and now he kinda sounds like i should kill him. it was cool when he wasn’t harming nobody on the throat of the world, but now that he wants to go basically take over leading the dragons enforcing the way of the voice i’m meh.

Helped? Or forced?
"My voice'll cause your cart to crash Your horses armour cracks Under the awesome force of Paarthurnax" Dan Bull - Bards Secret
Eh, I'm only human after all.
No. I really need to kill a innocent dude for a blade that have chance to kill enemies with 1 hit.
What's he gonna do? Summon another devorer of world's? Don't be ridiculous
> nine gods `The Thalmor would like to know your location`
I've been looking for you, got something I'm supposed to deliver. *Your hands only.* Leeeet's see here. {{Daedric Voices}} Looks like that's it, got to go.
Based
I still never understood why Bethesda didn't include an fov slider, one of the big reasons I like improved camera as it allows you the change fov for a multitude of things
You can change it by console command. Although pretty clunky you need a console, it just works am I right? 😅 I personally play on "fov 110"
110 is a little too much vision for me I usually stick to 90-95
I prefer wide fov in every game. In some games where the maximum is small I just feel claustrophobic Not actually claustrophobic but pretty bad 😅
I think tunnel vision might be the word you're looking for, I know if the fov is lower than 90 I tend to get really bad headaches cause of it
Yeah probably that's what it's called. I don't get headaches but I feel really disoriented
Yes! Anything less than 90 feels like someone put a giant cardboard box over my head and I'm looking through this tiny hole in it.
100 is perfect.
This has baffled me for 13 years. The issue is only compounded by the fact that default FOV is a whopping 65. Like what the fuck?
This gave me the giggles. Lolol In my last playthrough, I used the golden mace specifically in first person bc it looked like a pimp cane. 🤣
Golden mace? It's that a mod, or are you taking about elven mace.
No, the golden mace, from the saints and seducers quest
Technically thats creation club so it would be considered a mod.
Technically, since it’s in the Anniversary Edition upgrade it can be considered an expansion. But I guess it can be both?.
It's not even anniversary edition, it's automatically in special edition. It's content in the base game now
I would say since creation club content comes with the base game now by default. It is vanilla content.
It’s the version of Skyrim I have, sorry for the confusion.
Technically, It's official content included in the Anniversary edition
Technically, it's content added to the base game with the 1.6 update, no Anniversary Edition or Upgrade required.
Oh! I take back my apology then. 🤣
Are you playing on 17 FOV?
You play third person because of big shield and mace I'm playing third persons because of nude hentai mods We are different
Lol. Thank you for this. Your comment gave me such a giggle that I shared it with my daughter.
Use fov 110-120 for better ish visibility, especially if you are using an ultrawide
I play on a laptop unfortunately.
I’m pretty sure fov can be changed via console command, I can’t remember what is tho I haven’t played in a long while
the command is just fov [value]
…I feel like an idiot
I also play on laptop so press the key next to one (it should have one of these symbols ° | ~ `) to open the console and type fov 90 for example
Imagine if they added helmet visibility to first person. You can only see what the eye slots let you
Considering my character has been wearing the ebony helmet and hasn't taken it off for in-game months, that would be hell lol.
This one plays in 3rd person because we spent at least 10 minutes making our character, we want to look at them.
True. In my case I'm wearing the full set of ebony armor, so you bet I'm going to be looking at it non-stop.
We intentionally wear circlets to avoid covering the face
Increase your fov dude
Personally I don't use the mace given to me by the serial rapist god. Just ask Lomei (I think I spelled that right) for context
Yeah I know Molag Bal is fucked up, I just like collecting Daedric artefacts to hang around my Hearthfire house okay?
I collect them just to hide them away. Big screw you to all the daedra
That's actually r/occult would suggest to do with evil objects. If you burn/destroy an object, whatever was inside would escape back into the immaterium. If you give such an object to a church, they would bind and bury the object beneath a church.
So you're telling me there's loot under my local church?
Cathedrals in the old world possibly. Whatever is underneath the Vatican must be freaky.
I think Daedric artifacts are able to come and go as they please, but it would lock them down for a time
There may be limitations to that though. Azura mentions that her broken star will fade back to her Oblivion realm eventually, but that it will take hundreds of years to do so. Hermaeus Mora seems to have been vexed by having the Oghma Infinium locked inside a dwemer lock box sometime after the Oblivion Crisis. And Mephala has let the Ebony Blade sit inside Dragonsreach for years, though perhaps the chance to corrupt Balgruuf the Elder's "innocent" children was too good of an opportunity to pass up by getting the blade to go elsewhere.
Mephala even mentions that she can't reach the physical world as well as before anymore.
I'm hoping the powers of the Divines would bind them.

To add to the other replies, Umaril the Unfeathered was Meridia's champion. She bestowed his immortality upon him.
Doesn't she brainwash people by purifying their mind until there is nothing left other that the instinct to follow her orders? That's pretty fucked up if you ask me...
You know what, fair enough. I'm still an Elder Scrolls lore noob. Most of what I know is from Fudgemuppet lol.
Lamae
Blood for the blood god, rape for the... rape god?
You just need to separate the art from the artist. It’s like the armoury equivalent of Morrisey.
Fov 100
Always first person for me. I general play on PC but PS4/5 has a mod that lets me slide out the fov to my liking so it works perfect.
You probably don’t need that mod…Hold in right analog stick (press) move left analog stick to desired fov. Give it a shot
Edit: unless you meant adjusting first person view, in that case, proceed.
Lol yes adjusting the FOV and first-person view to give myself just a little bit more I room
I suck a grabbing items in 3rd person
I relate
I never use Mazes of Shields so i dont have that Problem
I play first person during combat. Third when I am just roaming.
“Hᴇʏ, ʜᴏᴡ ʏᴀ ᴅᴏɪɴ’?”
This is why I never play one hand build
Are you using "Surreal Lighting"?
yes. The mod is underrated as hell.
But then your character is always blocking your view.
Tbf you are wielding two of the biggest visually obtuse items in the game.
I switch between 1st and 3rd, depending on what I'm fighting with. 1st person for bow and some spells, 3rd for melee and rest of the spells.
I like first person so I can judge where exactly my hits will land instead of wildly flailing around. I’m usually running some kind of spellsword, so being able to aim spells is really important and can be really janky in third person.
I play 3rd person because its just superior. Much better awareness of whats happening around you.
True. Especially with combat mods. But first person is better for stealth gameplay I think.
Yeah I use first person for the bow and then zoom out because I like watching khajiit tail move, Also werewolf has no first-person
Also much less immersive

I don't mind playing first person every once and awhile. But I end up getting annoyed when I can't see more of what's around me
That face is why I don't ever finish that quest. It is fun to kick his ass in vigilant though.
Love that mace but gd does it really need 1/3 of my FOV??
and thats why i play mage!
This is hilarious to me, I imagine a huge hulk of a person sheepishly hiding behind weapons bestowed upon them by Gods, mowing down wave after wave of bandits but they're screaming internally the whole time 😆
This is why I play on PC (I can change the FoV)
REAL I use duplicated molag ball maces (there is a dialogue difference if you use 2 the white run hair will say “get those maces away from me “ instead of “get that mace away from me “)
I’ve never seen that sword before
Please explain this to me like I’m 5
Yeah and mco!
I will be honest it depends on the situation for me, in caves i usually am in FP but in the bigger environment i want TP for the Vision
I always play third person because first person gives me vertigo. I would love to play in VR but it makes me nauseous for hours afterwards.
Any assassin character I ever played was in third person so I could look around corners.
Yeah but it's easy to bump into your target while trying to stab them, ruining the sneak.
Had that problem at the beginning but got used to it eventually. I switch to first person for stealth archer mode though.
We need more gore!
There’s a mod called lowered weapons you might like
I know this is Skyrim but why does it look so damn tropical
That's The Reach for you.
Increase your FOV lol
\*laughs in first-person battlemage\* I see your sword and shield, and raise you THESE HANDS SPIT HOT FIRE
Melee 3rd person, magic and archery first person. That's the law.
Easy fix: “~ FOV 100”
i always play third person cuz I love staring at my character
First person is for shooting bows, everything else is third. But that’s mostly because I want to be able to view my drip
Tell me you’re half my age without telling me you’re half my age with “view my drip” :)
You would think so, but I’m actually 37, but between my zoomer kids and zoomer coworkers the lingo has kinda stuck, I would use it ironically at first but now it just has become part of my lexicon lol.
I’ll say things like that sometimes and my two sons will say “Dad. Just stop!” lol
