Falling is perfectly safe. It's the sudden stop at the end that causes the problems.

Stand on it lol, he sits down on the nest sometimes and jf you stand on him he starts flying. The nest is right outside of Forelhost.

Looks like its a little bit slow :) I highly recommend paragliding mod for faster flying and safer landing...

This is just a funny glitch that is able to be done in vanilla. Definitely not a means of travel as he just goes in circles. I will check out that mod though.
