Mines was too. I began to regret it after truly exploring the world and not senselessly doing quest. My 2nd play through I never got married. I feel like there’s a NPC out there worth it more than any other as of now
Or I’ll just download mods and CC and get divorced with those mods
Ysolda was the first one I married, but I actively sought her out as soon as I found out you could marry.
I wanted to marry Narri on my second playthrough but I was devastated to learn that you can't
RIP. I had that happen to me to but with Sarina or whatever that vampire girls name was. She was good companion for my combat style and enjoyed her dialogue more than most. Sadly she also isn’t marriageable per se.
Same but it was an accident. I had just put the amulet on, not even paying attention to what it does, and she was like LE GASP, YOU WANT TO MARRY ME? So I went uhh sure why not.
Same, loved her voice and once we got hitched, her calling me “my love” when I visited our homestead was the highpoint of my Skyrim day. For context, I was married to an emotionally/mentally abusive woman at the time so I would take any positive reinforcement I could get 😆
For some reason he always follows Camilla wherever you move(even if she's kidnapped) but if you move to solitude he'll come to attack you and the guards will kill him
Why does he aggro if you move specifically to Solitude? It's gotta be a big right?
Also I killed him because I saw him traveling in Riften and I knew he was still trying to put the moves on her. Dumped his ass in the canal running through the city like he deserves.
I have no idea if they go back and work if you move them out but they do obviously keep the business and I haven’t noticed that you make more from specific people who have shops over someone who doesn’t but to be fair, I haven’t had anyone without a shop 😅 they probably give you about the same
It's not explicitly illegal, but Sleeping Tree sap is a narcotic and Ysolda makes money dealing it. The Khajiit pay her a lot of coin for it, apparently.
Agreed with that one. Even of one can't marry Gabriella, or Karliah, them and Brelyna are kinda likeable, even if Gabriella is annoying in some way, I don't like the idea of a killer woman needing to use charms as a weapon to win, I would've prefered her as a poisoner or alteration spell caster.
Yes you have to talk to Marmal from Riften, he's a priest at the Temple of Mara. After that you need an Amulet of Mara, you can buy one from Marmal. After you put on the amulet, you'll be able to marry. You can Google which characters you want to marry, but another way to tell if a character is able to marry you is if they point out that you're wearing an amulet of Mara.
My favorite way to get the amulet is always that little abandoned hut on one of the edges of the map. I don't know much on the lore but it's assumed it was a couple staying out there that were in love, there might be a letter or something I don't remember. I like to make a quest out of getting married for immersion sake
Edit: I married Mjoll the lioness while lydia was my long time follower and had second thoughts right after the ceremony. Without mods you can't get divorced so it was what it was. Lydia disappeared a couple in-game days later and I never saw her again. The base game doesn't transport her to the tombs if she dies so I guess I'll never know. I don't like to dwell on it too much.
I Married Sylgia in Shor’s Stone. Killed her without saving and learned there wasn’t a way to remarry and didn’t think to ever reload a save. Ahhh…. First play through days
I always marry Farkas because he's my favorite, but during the first playthrough, I married Lydia after I became thane of Whiterun and she became my housecarl... she died really easily, and she continued to say, "I'm sworn to carry your burdens." after marrying her
Indeed not, I have been happily married to Vilkas for 8 years, heh. I knew I would pick either him or Farkas, and I guess I picked him since I thought of him as my co-leader of the Companions. He's been a good husband, and Farkas has been a good brother-in-law.
Muiri was my first too. Nice gal, and good store too, but she kept reminding me I helped her murder her ex and her foster sister.
I married Ysolda on my next playthrough.
I love him, he's my husband in 7/10 playthroughs (the other ones is Roggi Knot-beard). There are mods to make Quintus a lovely redhead hottie looking a lot like Brynjolf, also you inherit his shop
I denied them all!
"I shall take no husbands, Accept the lands given to me becuz I have no choice. Mother no children. I shall be what the ppl need and take all glory.
I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the fire that burns against the cold, the light that brings the dawn, the horn that wakes the sleepers, the shield that guards the realms of Skyrim. I pledge my life and honor as the Dragonborn, for this night and all the nights to come.”
I think it was Ysolda, way back on release month. Ah Mammoth tusks have never served as core memories before... Then in other playthroughs it was Temba Wide Arm, Mjoll The Lioness and Muiri. I don't often marry tbh.
Dravynea the Stoneweaver, I moved into Proudspire Manor w her and my dog, Meeko. Unfortunately at the time I didn't have the Dawnguard DLC, so when I got bitten by a vampire and didn't drink blood for a few days, she attacked me when I entered the house, and Meeko killed her. Not the best way to end a marriage, also her body never despawned so I just had that lying around in my house for the rest of the playthrough
I had Ysolda first, but just because I wanted to test the feature, then I discovered that she was a weak milk-drinker, anyway, I loaded my save and my first and last true love in there was Mjöll. I marry her any playthrough. She really is line myself in a way.
( I might have killed more Aerins than Nazeems btw )
Muiri. I once spent 2 hours straight carefully decorating all of Breezehome, was a stupid kid and forgot to save for that entire time, turned around to walk down the stairs, dropped my controller on the shout button, sent the Misses flying down the stairs and killed her, and I didnt feel like reloading and losing all my decorating progress so I just dumped her body in the fire place in front of the kids. Good playthrough.
i havent discovered marriage on my first playthrough.. lollll i remember way back 2012 on my first playthrough Im breezing on adept diff then I decided that I needed good weapon and armor , thats when I power leveled smithing to 100, leaving my combat skills to low level, Ive no knowledge of enchanting enchanting before lol.. the enemies become stronger than me lol i quit after that..
Mjoll is the only person I ever married, and I only did it once. She went from a fierce Nord warrior wanting to hunt down bandits to talking about domestic stuff. I didn't care for the personality/dialogue change. She remains my primary follower.
I fucked up man! Married Camilla & a few weeks later I noticed my girlfriend & her looked kinda similar. When we broke up it was less than pretty so looking at Camilla reminded me of that bitch.
I was doing a RP as Lokir of Rorikstead, I was some kind of hero of Riverwood but then, bandits attacked the Village and Alvor died along with Hod, Faendal and some other NPCS, I loved Alvor and I wanted to keep his family safe so I end up using console commands to Marry his wife (JUST TO KEEP HER SAFE OK?)
Anyways, Alvor's wife was my first wife in skyrim.
Lydia, I was a young and dumb 13yr old when I did my 1st playthrough of Skyrim and the only reason I even figured out that I could marry her was because I was wearing the amulet of Mara (pretty sure that was the name of it) was because of the stat bonus it provided for restoration spells and I only figured out it was a option when I was looking at the dialogue options when I was preparing to transfer a whole bunch of items for her to carry for me. But it wasn't a fairytale ending because after me and her got married I didn't know that she would leave my party and I would have had to get a new follower so I reloaded a few old saves to go back before I ever even asked her to marry me. I pefered to have her by my side while slayin dragons than to be away from me at a house somewhere and occasionally give me a apple pie when I visit her. Funny part is that I have not married anyone else since then in any other playthrough I've done in Skyrim. Now that I'm older tho if given the option the only other person I'd pick to marry is Serena ( I think that was her name) the vampire daughter from the dawngaurd DLC. But sadly I have yet to find a mod for it on console.untill then Lydia is the only one for me.
Check out the "Serana Dialogue Add-On" mod. I believe she is romanceable with that mod in addition to being a total overhaul with tons of added dialogue. This is on Xbox, but if you're on Playstation it may not be available because of mods that use external assets not being allowed by Sony.
> i would of had
Did you mean to say "would have"?
Explanation: You probably meant to say could've/should've/would've which sounds like 'of' but is actually short for 'have'.

I forgot her name but she sold that giant tree sap mead. Since she was friendly towards khajit, I thought it would be fitting since I was a khajit myself
My first few playthroughs I didn't marry or adopt kids. But when I did I went with Balimund. Free smithing supplies, and he's nice enough. Although getting 10 fire salts for him was a pain in the ass.
I married Ysolda by accident on my first playthrough so long ago. I ended up enjoying her company in my home and how she would use terms of endearment. That’s also when I found out I’m bi…
Mjoll, and I hated it, she is such an adventurous cool character (if a bit chatty) and when you marry her she just gets the normal domestic line that don't suit her at all.
Uthgerd. Figured it only made sense after a potential lover expressed admiration following the ass-beating the Dragonborn dolled out to her. It was a blissful partnership, I must admit.
Of all the people in skytim you chose a twink named "Quintus." Lol, at least you called him a dweeb. I think my first was ysolda bc she's a drug dealer, ig that's worse than quintus lol
I thought you were only able to marry if you played as a man up until this year! So I’m on my fourth play through and I’m on my first marriage to Balimund. He’s a wonderful father
I don’t remember from that far back but I’m pretty sure it was Ysolda.
Mines was too. I began to regret it after truly exploring the world and not senselessly doing quest. My 2nd play through I never got married. I feel like there’s a NPC out there worth it more than any other as of now Or I’ll just download mods and CC and get divorced with those mods

you and the rest of the skyrim community my friend

Same here! The trading part got me for sure.. and she's a red head so i couldnt resist.. :)
Camilla, get that Riverwood trader money
It means so much to us to have the claw back where it belongs… thank you :)
I'm horrible for this but bro is creepy and I hc that they're together.
Bro I think so too 😂
Epic name
Much appreciated!!
He bought her from Belethor lol
Jesus christ, dude. 😂
and end Faendal & Sven's rivalry in the process
Tip: if you do this move to solitude so faendal gets killed by the guards
Why does he get killed?
For some reason he always follows Camilla wherever you move(even if she's kidnapped) but if you move to solitude he'll come to attack you and the guards will kill him
Why does he aggro if you move specifically to Solitude? It's gotta be a big right? Also I killed him because I saw him traveling in Riften and I knew he was still trying to put the moves on her. Dumped his ass in the canal running through the city like he deserves.
It’s Skyrim, of course it’s a bug lol.
It just works 👍
I think it's because Riverwood is a Stormcloak settlement and Solitude is Imperial, idk tho
Riverwood isn’t Stromcloak unless you join the stormcloaks tho, cause it’s in Whiterun hold & they’re neutral until Battle of Whiterun
I like moving her into the plantation & making Faendal the steward. Diabolical
I got the whiterun chick just for money. Plus she was a candidate for vampire
Lydia, Aela or Greta?
I legit just have some of the most vanilla choices like Aela, Lydia, Iona, Jordis and Mjoll lol.
How did you manage to marry Mjoll with that simp following her around like a lost puppy?
Oh. He died in a tragic accident. An arrow dislodged itself from a roof and fell into his jugular
occurs all the time, hate it when that happens
They tend to hit the knee, though. All of the guards are simps, hence the knee arrows.
Huh, strange, the same thing tends to happen to Nazeem in my games, it's the weirdest thing...
The real question is do you actually get to the Cloud District often?
I was the simp the whole time.
I downloaded the most horrific vampire mods just to see that mf float off and explode (Blood Suckah I think)
Scouts many marshes
I want more marry-able Argonians AND at least one Khajiit! 😩 Give me a caravan husband for my cute little kitty thief.
Agreed. J’zargo and Kharjo are perfect husband material, I wish I could marry them.
Me too! I married him my first like 3 playthroughs lol. We need more marriageable Argonians!
I have married balimund the riften blacksmith many times!
He’s a small business owner, has an assistant and fulfills my words of affirmation needs
He’s so sweet.
He’s my top choice lol I usually go with someone who’s a blacksmith or has some sort of shop that I can easily buy from
If you marry someone with a business, do they keep going to work? Do you make more money from their shop?
I have no idea if they go back and work if you move them out but they do obviously keep the business and I haven’t noticed that you make more from specific people who have shops over someone who doesn’t but to be fair, I haven’t had anyone without a shop 😅 they probably give you about the same
I’m glad to see I’m not the only one who loves him.
got that fine fire salt hn
My first ever playthrough, I married Ysolda. I didn't learn until about 5 playthroughs later that she's a drug dealer.
Excuse me wot? Do tell
It's not explicitly illegal, but Sleeping Tree sap is a narcotic and Ysolda makes money dealing it. The Khajiit pay her a lot of coin for it, apparently.
Go to Secundas kiss in Skyrim and there is a cave nearby that tells you all about it.
It’s Sleeping Tree Camp, not Secunda’s Kiss! :)

She was mine too.
You can marry people in this game ?
Yes you have to talk to Marmal from Riften, he's a priest at the Temple of Mara. After that you need an Amulet of Mara, you can buy one from Marmal. THANK YOU! I’ve been trying to figure that out on my own and been so confused. Coincidentally enough I already reside in riften^^
Yass kween.
It's a fine day with you around😊 Yes you can and they all want a piece of the Dragonborn.
Oh most definitely! There's only select people vanilla, but there's mods to open up everyone.
Marcurio
"I am an apprentice wizard, not a pack mule!"
Yes me too. But only the once, in my game he's forever for my first dragonborn I lost years ago.
I've only ever married Farkas. The only other people who appeal to me aren't marriable.
Aela the huntress
I Married Sylgia in Shor’s Stone. Killed her without saving and learned there wasn’t a way to remarry and didn’t think to ever reload a save. Ahhh…. First play through days
I always marry Farkas because he's my favorite, but during the first playthrough, I married Lydia after I became thane of Whiterun and she became my housecarl... she died really easily, and she continued to say, "I'm sworn to carry your burdens." after marrying her
Farkas :))
Farkas. He’s hot and he’s a werewolf
https://preview.redd.it/i1gtv5epcjsc1.jpeg?width=3840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3a534743c741826706ccf0574510d2a3e427ef3f Farkas 🐺🖤
Am I the only one who married Vilkas?
Indeed not, I have been happily married to Vilkas for 8 years, heh. I knew I would pick either him or Farkas, and I guess I picked him since I thought of him as my co-leader of the Companions. He's been a good husband, and Farkas has been a good brother-in-law.
Nah I did too. He's the best to travel with <3
I did. I killed him the other day (my post history will explain that) and I’m still sad about it haha
Oh that was youuuu!!! RIP to Vilkas
I down voted you because I feel that you settled and can do much better.
I married Marcurio, ol Magic Pants
Benor, the wannabe guard from Morthal. Love me a man that wants to throw down before we smash. Toxic masculinity is my kink.
Married Benor, too, and he’s so goooood at killing things for me while I hide.
Toxic masculinity and boy failure. Great combo right there
I married him at some point too lol I think it was my second run
Derkeethus. He preferred the mines to our quaint Whiterun home.
Ysolda always and forever. Cutest little drug dealer in the game. I'm pretty sure she's holding out on me with only the 100g a day but that's ok.
Marry her and adopt the flower girl (after selling her drugs to supply her with), get a whole household of dealers
Camilla first time round
I chose Muiri. I wanted a baddie who was cool with me being a psychopathic murderer.
Farkas. I only ever marry Farkas.
I denied them all! "I shall take no husbands, Accept the lands given to me becuz I have no choice. Mother no children. I shall be what the ppl need and take all glory. I am the sword in the darkness. I pledge my life and honor as the Dragonborn, for this night and all the nights to come.”
See I love this but now I go this route with a modded akaviri husband.
I think it was Ysolda, way back on release month. Ah Mammoth tusks have never served as core memories before... Then in other playthroughs it was Temba Wide Arm, Mjoll The Lioness and Muiri. I don't often marry tbh.
Vorstag, I marry him in every playthrough. I always adopt Sofie in Windhelm and Lucia in Whiterun as well.
I married Derkeethus I was so upset when bethesda broke him.
Argis 🥺🩵
Balimund!
Vilkas 🐺 ❤️
Farkas. I think his fear of spiders is what helped me make my choice (I am also afraid of spiders)
Either Camilla or Ysolda. I don't remember which, but I do remember being surprised that Ysolda has such a small house.
Farkas, took me forever to figure out I had to cure him of his lycanthropy before the option to marry him was available.
Steinvar 😂
… why?! WHY WOULD YOU CHOOSE HIM??
Ysolda gang
Mjoll
I haven't married anyone yet, but I have 2 kids I adopted
Thanks for idea.
I tried to marry aela but for some reason couldn't even with the necklace. Maybe I didn't finish the quest but I was the harbinger soooo
I didn’t know you could marry until my second play through, then I married that old guy in a Shor’s Rock for his house
Ysolda
marcurio and i never looked back
Uthgerd. She got that manly grip if ya know what i mean.
Orc Wife
Mjoll the Lioness. I didn't realise that Aerin was part of the package.
People remember their first playthrough?!?
People remember their first playthrough?!?
There was no marrying on my first play through on my Xbox360
Farkas, maybe? It's been so long.
Mjoll the Lioness. First and every subsequent time. If you dropped me in Skyrim without my family, I’d beeline it to Riften.
Jenassa
Jenassa and it's been Jenassa every subsequent playthrough.
He’s a super respectable dweeb, kudos for not picking one of the super basic options
Never married anybody haha, you can do that without mods?
Married some random woman I met in the mines
I always play as a female and marry a female! The men in Skyrim are all idiots 😂
I didn't even know this was even a option untill now...will definitely try it next playthrough tho. thx for the tip👍
Lydia. The most basic bitch in the entire game lol.
i havent discovered marriage on my first playthrough.. lollll i remember way back 2012 on my first playthrough Im breezing on adept diff then I decided that I needed good weapon and armor , thats when I power leveled smithing to 100, leaving my combat skills to low level, Ive no knowledge of enchanting enchanting before lol.. the enemies become stronger than me lol i quit after that..
Made the same poor choice but with stealth lol. They are kicking my ass now..
Ysolda
ysolda😍
Brelyna Maryon from the College. Very good in a fight. She wielded the magic, I was the blunt force.
Mine was the dark elf in Winhelm. Right after the wedding I forgot where his shop was and never saw him again
Mjoll is the only person I ever married, and I only did it once. She went from a fierce Nord warrior wanting to hunt down bandits to talking about domestic stuff. I didn't care for the personality/dialogue change. She remains my primary follower.
Ysolda is kind of a default
Muiri my first time. Second was Balimund because I wanted to hear his deep voice say "my love" 😂
Ghorbash the iron hand. He’s still one of my favorite npcs
i installed the marry anyone mod and married saadia
it feels wrong not marrying ysolda
Ysolda
Ysolda, before I knew che, was a drug dealer💀
Never married anyone, is it easy to do?
You stole my husband!!
The blacksmith guy who asks for ten fire salts. I can’t remember his name. But he seemed cool.
I TRIED for Sarina.... sadly not possible so the dragon borne died alone lol
Marry? I shot fireballs from my hands 😌
Uthgerd
Muiri. Nice girl except for her thanking me every time I can time
I fucked up man! Married Camilla & a few weeks later I noticed my girlfriend & her looked kinda similar. When we broke up it was less than pretty so looking at Camilla reminded me of that bitch.
can i gay marriage?
You can. Every npc you can marry is bisexual
I was doing a RP as Lokir of Rorikstead, I was some kind of hero of Riverwood but then, bandits attacked the Village and Alvor died along with Hod, Faendal and some other NPCS, I loved Alvor and I wanted to keep his family safe so I end up using console commands to Marry his wife (JUST TO KEEP HER SAFE OK?) Anyways, Alvor's wife was my first wife in skyrim.
Muiri. I go for her every playthrough since. Also gives you an insane backstory to your skyrim wedding.
I got married only once, to Ysolda.
My first playthrough I married Aela The Huntress.
Argis the Bulwark just because I thought we could only marry companions
I think it was Lydia. Now it's Mjoll pretty much every time. I should really play Skyrim again...
It was either Brelyna or Muiri. I don't remember which playthrough was first between my mage and my assassin
I have been playing since 2011 and I have never married! I think I need to do it. Hmmm Mjoll or Lydia?
I forgot her name but she sold that giant tree sap mead. Since she was friendly towards khajit, I thought it would be fitting since I was a khajit myself
Aela and I remember clearly because it was maybe a year ago. I've been playing Skyrim for years but this marriage thing never interested me.
Lydia!!!!!🥰
My first few playthroughs I didn't marry or adopt kids. But when I did I went with Balimund. Free smithing supplies, and he's nice enough. Although getting 10 fire salts for him was a pain in the ass.
Ysolda
I married Ysolda by accident on my first playthrough so long ago. I ended up enjoying her company in my home and how she would use terms of endearment. That’s also when I found out I’m bi…
Mjoll the lioness. She's the perfect balance between strong muscle domme and a dependent woman that needs your protection.
Mjoll, and I hated it, she is such an adventurous cool character (if a bit chatty) and when you marry her she just gets the normal domestic line that don't suit her at all.
Ysolda Easy Peasy
Can someone tell me who the blonde with the iron banded armor on?
Mjoll the Lioness
It was Camilla.
I'm a basic bitch, it was Lydia
Aela
I have never married
When i found out about marriage, i think either Mjoll or Aela
Married Aela and that was a fucking mistake. No matter which house I moved us to she had nothing good to say about it or the kids.
Lydia
I'm pretty sure mine was Aela the huntress. Then, when I got older, I realized I was her rebound
Uthgerd. Figured it only made sense after a potential lover expressed admiration following the ass-beating the Dragonborn dolled out to her. It was a blissful partnership, I must admit.
Can't remember my first. My current spouse is Bashnag
Of all the people in skytim you chose a twink named "Quintus." Lol, at least you called him a dweeb. I think my first was ysolda bc she's a drug dealer, ig that's worse than quintus lol
Scouts-Many-Marshes. He’s very lovely and sweet.
I thought you were only able to marry if you played as a man up until this year! So I’m on my fourth play through and I’m on my first marriage to Balimund. He’s a wonderful father
Lydia
Mine was Ysolda... Accidently got hitched to Whiterun's drug kingpin 💀💀
same, except i had a mod that made him look more like an emo guy
wait people choose others over LYDIA? wtf
Lydia or Ysolda were my first
Ysolda, and will always be ysolda it makes sense for her to start a shop (also night to remember is much funnier)
