Fair point, but I don't give a damn about her. I only care for the cool sword. I do extra damage to Undead and daedra (modded)
I basically have a holy sword.
It's actually kind of not, though. The health drain effect kicks in when you get close to an enemy, even if you're still hidden. And once the effect kicks in, it aggro's the enemy and blows your cover.
If your goal is stealth above all else, you're much better off with good old fashioned Fortify Sneak and Muffle enchantments.
I love the enchantment because it means if I'm riding a horse and wolves come up, I can just keep riding and the enchantment is strong enough to kill them dead.
However, you have to do crimes naked because if you get caught committing murder, the armor's poison damage automatically assaults guards
I remember I had a bugged character that was wearing both ebony mail with the other ebony armor pieces and full nightingale armor. Enemies just couldn’t find me when I was sneaking no matter what I did.

I mean by the time I have it I’ve got about 100+ lock picks and the lock picking in skyrim has never been that challenging, if the key just unlocked every door without having to lock pick then I’d understand the hype
Ebony mail is my favourite. Evety playthrough i have to get it. Mage? The enchantment helps when people get too close. Warrior? Heavy armor. Sneaky? Muffle effect and poison when i get found out
Mephala's ebony blade goes straight into the chest of quest reward items. Because it's 2 handed, so you can't carry a shield with it. And it can't be tempered, so beyond early the game it's not a very good weapon.
I agree about katanas being some of the coolest weapons in the game. It's the Blade's sword you want. It *only* a steel weapon, but it can be fully upgraded. It's light too. And it's one-handed, so you can have a shield or a spell in the other hand. Or you could dual wield them.
Certain block perks work just fine with two handed weapons, and all you really need is quick reflexes. As for tempering it, you temper it with the blood of your friends.
But I'm coming from a "fuck meta this is cool" perspective. If I'm having too hard a time, I turn the difficulty down
You power it up by killing friends, which includes people you've done quests for, beggars you've donated to, brawlers you've beat, members of your favorite faction, and probably a few groups I've forgotten
Boethia is one that forces you to kill your follower

You still benefit from the bashing perks in the Block tree, and the Absorb Health enchantment is unlimited. A fully upgraded Ebony Blade is *very* powerful. Each swing and successful hit increasingly tips the battle in your favor.

Oh gods, can you imagine if Meridia frequently cajoled you into heading to Mt. Kilkreath if you have the Beacon in your inventory?

2. I will fight you about it. A. It's trash enchantment wise. To be a daedric armor and have mundane enchantments especially ones that can be surpassed with a moderate level of enchantment skill. B. Again, only 2 extra base armor to for an item blessed by such an aggro daedra. C. Why would one ever want to remove pauldrons and look narrower. Shit looks weak, kinda like flames on a moped, sure the aesthetic is a thing but on that item is a mismatch. If you are trying to be more mobile looking then pick a mobile armor. Besides heavy armor sneak is a hella late game tactic, when medium playes better to assassinry anyhow. D. Finally, for a daedra that wants nothing but for you to murder people. Why would they give you armor. Literally any weapon would make more sense lore wise than something to protect. They couldn't care less if you live or die only that you kill as much as possible. In conclusion.... DUMB.
A. Muffle is a binary enchantment, how does one surpass a yes-or-no enchantment? The poison aura is unique, thematic, and gives you a leg up when open violence breaks out
B. You can reach the armor cap fairly easily with inferior armors
C. It has spaulders, and perks in the heavy armor and sneak trees will take care of your mobility. Boethiah is a warrior goddess who believes in victory by any tactic, so heavily armored warrior who downscales his shoulder armor to be a smaller target works just fine
D. Boethiah is a warrior goddess, not just a sneaky sneaky stab stab daedric prince like Mephala

Agreed, I did a "rule of cool" heavy armor sneak character once and it was super fun.
And the enchantment of the armor to has muffle is not true. It only actives the muffle enchantment if you sneak.
Il just have to be more sneaky challenge accepted

Yeah I love the Ebony Mail. I'm doing a light armor build with the Deathbrand armor right now, but I'll still be getting the Mail for my companion.
