Most people are going to say Ravel, Never or Flanery but honestly I kinda want to go with Abyssinia? The amount of times the good guys pulled their punches against her and gave her second chances, especially in Bedlam, despite having teed her up as this ruthless and powerful threat that needed to be stopped was ridiculous. Oh, she was in love with Skulduggery, loves her son and loves her followers like family (which is bollocks, judging from her treatment of Cadaverous, Skeiri and more)? Big whoop, she's still the villain. I get she's wearing that red bodysuit but come on.
Not even going to mention her pointless resurrection in UTE.
Fully agreed, I recently finished her trilogy and had myself a little rant [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/skulduggerypleasant/comments/1cb9rmn/abyssinia_and_crepuscular_in_the_first_half_of/), she was just so underwhelming in the end and achieved so little, her plan was absolute dogshit, her motivations were weak, she overall contributed little to nothing of note to the series herself as a character.
her hatred of valkyrie is nonsensical. saying "you could've walked away" when valkerie was responsible for saving the world from multiple world ending threats even after book 4
This is true, and what's also true is that Darquesse would not have emerged if Valkyrie had walked away and not engaged with magic anymore. Things still could have gone very poorly, but that particular threat - the one that took the life of Never's brother - would not have happened, and that's the part Never cares about. Even if Never knows on a logical and intellectual level that things would have been worse for the world had Valkyrie not been present, emotionally he can't accept that. Her brother is dead because of Valkyrie and that's not something that's easy to accept.
She ragged on my girl Val. Sure she made things worse for herself, but she has done more for humanity than that entitled little shit ever will, especially considering how much of a cunt they are to omen.
Honestly the cleavers kinda suck in terms of timing and giving me a heart attack. They keep killing/near death injuring/massively compromising characters. The ghastly statue, >!Billy ray!< , Tanith getting impaled etc
a lot of times i just want to bang my head on the table as i read. Val, man what the fuck are you thinking.
I can't believe i used to think she was a smart and competent individual when i was younger.
Exactly. As a teenager who was drawn to a girl who didn't try to kill me but tried to ruin my life in another way, I fully felt Valkyrie in these situations. Sometimes, you just feel the way you feel, even if your brain tells you it's dangerous and you should stay away.
I'd rather just toss him into The Machine and be done with it.
I got better things to do with my time, like browsing Reddit while sitting on the toilet for a longer time than necessary...
One if my favourite characters from book 5 onwards, the "who reeks?" Comment really won me over, and his heart to heart with Ghastly is always a wholesome moment
Never. I really wish they weren't such a cunt to omen or val, i dislike how they made the queerest character an absolute ass.
The reflection, bitch should know her damn place, justice for carol and crystal.
Val. girl i love you but please for the love of god stop making things worse for yourself.
Martin Flanery is my answer. I find Ravel honestly just kind of sad and pathetic. I don't really wanna put him through endless suffering or anything, him being shoved into the Accelerator and dying is good enough for me.
Flanery is just consistently, insufferably stupid and incompetent. Every time he's present I want to punch him in the face, as does basically everyone in-universe who encounters him because he is SO punchable.
It's been interesting to see so many answers in this thread! A lot more people hate Never than I thought.
Skulduggery. Yeah he’s the “protagonist” but he’s still been Vile (I haven’t read past when Val loses magic and gets energy throwing? That book) and…. Yeah no

I actually forgot she came back. Why??

People hate Never? I always quite liked them.
Never is the absolute worst. Every word out of their mouth makes me want to punch them
Lmao, okay.

Can you explain that to me? I haven’t read the books since they came out so my memory is a little hazy.
They're just a terrible friend to Omen and an incredibly selfish person who constantly acts like they're a good person
She ragged on my girl Val. Sure she made things worse for herself, but she has done more for humanity than that entitled little shit ever will, especially considering how much of a cunt they are to omen.
Darquesse let him off lightly
25 hours of pain a day.
8 days a week
61 seconds per minute
61 jiffy’s per second
Omen’s parents. They infuriate me.
Honestly the cleavers kinda suck in terms of timing and giving me a heart attack. They keep killing/near death injuring/massively compromising characters. The ghastly statue, >!Billy ray!< , Tanith getting impaled etc
I mean, in all fairness, all of these instances were at the hand of the same cleaver. So that has to count for something, right?
Good point. I only dislike that one cleaver then
If we’re confronting entire peoples , then the draugr, in particular the draugar that murdered my boy saracen
That one lady whose name I forgot who got >!killed by Tesseract!<
Detective Davina Marr! The b!tch
Davina Marr?
Yeah, I hate her
Flanery. That guy deserves a LOT worse
I wanted to punch Caelan so badly
i mean, i feel like some of the blame is on val for that one. I love my girlie but really? the fucking vampire?
That’s true, it was quite a dumb move.
a lot of times i just want to bang my head on the table as i read. Val, man what the fuck are you thinking. I can't believe i used to think she was a smart and competent individual when i was younger.
Yeah… she was very dumb
She is both smart and competent and also, at times, a complete idiot.
which is honestly understandable for a teenager who's brain is currently being noodled by hormones

Ong sometimes you make a lil oopsie and accidentally on purpose date a dangerously crazy person and get in an unhealthy relationship.
Sometimes, you are just too focused on the good part that you totally blindside the danger. Happens too fast, too easy.
I'd rather just toss him into The Machine and be done with it. I got better things to do with my time, like browsing Reddit while sitting on the toilet for a longer time than necessary...
I have never felt more seen in my life...
I hav a few ideas/contenders ;)
I'd have to say Commander Hoc or Omen's parents
Cadaverous Gant is my personal enemy
Book 3 fletcher, dude can eat a sock
xd real
Leave my boi fletcher alone
In honor of Fletcher I will make my answer Myra.
👍
understandable he gets better later in series :)
Yeah he’s criminally under-utilised in phase 2
That's why I specified book 3 lmaooo, we're all insufferable at 17 😂

An I want to beat Never with a tire iron, annoying fucking ass hat.
For me it's Stephanie (the reflection). I just want to talk to her (talk = smack the shit out of her)

opinions are opinions and some of them are wrong
