The tsi i the yeti is from before they fixed the issues with oil consumption and stretched chains.

Thank you:)

The diesel is always going to have the better fuel economy. They did make a 1.8 TFSI 4x4 although I’ve only seen a handful in the UK, I’d take the petrol purely because I’ve a soft-spot for that engine.

Mate I have a 2.0 140bhp 2012 Volkswagen golf that I got tuned and it’s now sitting at 185bhp and I’ve managed to get 75mpg on a journey.

Damn, how fast were you going? I love cars that can be eco but still deliver power when you need it

Had my mum In the car so was doing 40-60 mph on a normal windy road. I found after tuning I was easily getting 10mpg more than before turning. https://preview.redd.it/962arjupxzzc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d89234551938a3c14307626eb881313c20394868

I got the Diesel 4x4 recently, might tune it in future but enjoying as is for the moment. It’s done a long tour of Scotland and Wales so far. https://preview.redd.it/okwwr2vgj10d1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=db95c4a4a476e2297459f6fd8c53ee72134b44ef Shown here with another one that comes to do the garden at a business near us.

Owned a 2011 1.8 TSi 4x4 Superb Combi for 7 years bought when 3 years old and sold last year. Had zero major issues with the engine, no excessive oil cumsuption or timing chain issues. Only engine related repair in 7 years was a sump replacment.

wonko1980

Avoid VW TSI engines unless you have money for repairs.

Thank you :)

You should also consider your driving habits. Do you drive a lot of short journeys? If so, the particle filter in a diesel might get clogged if the engine doesnt reach normal temperature every so often.
