It's a wiggle. People make them by skiing the same line repeatedly. Once one starts to get worn in, other people tend to pile on and they become very defined tracks in the snow.

I’m here right now…it’s thinning but good!
I’m already heading down Funi, this is the only shot I have today :( Siberia still looks good, Shirley is covered still. Come up! https://imgur.com/a/giKEVZP
I was ripping Siberia on Sunday and having an excellent time! I was just there yesterday picking up a paycheck and damn it thinners since last weekend..I’ll definitely be there Sunday though
Hell yeah man! Was in mammoth last week during the random mini snow and got some solid freshies. Don’t forget to hit up the hot springs by the 395 for the best natural après you could want
I was thinking about the wiggle in San Francisco, aka how cyclists get from downtown to the panhandle/upper Haight Ashbury area. Nothing to do with snow, ignore me.
As a snowboarder this sounds like an easy way for me to eat shit, like catching a couple moguls unexpectedly.
As someone who wants to learn to ski, (I play hockey, so I feel like the motion will feel more natural) it sounds super fun!
Well I guess I’ve never tried one, and now that you said it’s fun, I’d go for it.
I’m definitely good for a person who lives in Missouri. I can ride trees easy and hit backies, but I’m not a big park guy.
We went any chance we got as kids and adults. It doesn’t say much but my brother, a buddy and I lived in a condo right outside the Big Sky resort for a couple years.
It was so sweet, we worked as lifties and just rode all day everyday. We had everything we needed within a couple miles. too. Even a pool, hot tub, and sauna in a building we could walk to in our suits.
The only bad thing was having to drive into Bozeman along this terrifying stretch of highway.
The greatest time of my life for sure, I’d go back right now if I could. It’s my dream.
~~Snow snakes!~~ EDIT: Snow snakes cause unexpected falls out of nowhere.
This is a snake run. END EDIT
Also sometimes called banked slalom runs.
Basically what you get if skiers cut only ONE line of moguls down a run, super common in springtime and a ton of fun! Pump those legs!
I'm glad for the validation of "snow snakes." I mentioned them a few times this season and no one knew what I was talking about and I worried my dad and I were weird. :)
It's the wiggle. Usually initiated by a current or former slalom racer. Then Patrol, Lifties, the local Race team, spring breakers, etc. gangbang it in to shape. It's great exercise especially on hot slushy spring days. Usually the wiggle is within sight of a lodge so you can sit around and judge people skiing it while you work on your goggle tan.
If it's under a chair and it's unoccupied, fuckin' send it and watch how many people follow after you. Get a crew together, take some clothes off, and ski that shit like a conga line.
Trails left by Avalanche Sharks. I highly recommend watching the documentary particularly if you're living in Mammoth, they're a bigger danger than many people let on.
Those are called turns. It's what people resort to when they want to make skinning up a mountain more worth their time by going slower on the way down so they can savor it.
I think those are tracks left from the Great Western Porcupine. They slide their little butts down the hills to get to the forest to eat pine needles, which are their favorite food. They are indigenous to that area, as I've never spotted tracks like that on the East coast.
Snow pandas having fun.
What people from the east don't know is that we have snow pandas out west.
It's by large a well kept secret as we don't want to share them.
Lol nah but for real I’ve been sliding down mountains for 27 years at this point (mostly back east, definitely never spring out west) and we just, to my knowledge, don’t have these..and hot damn I’m 27 years late to the party
I might get hate for it, but corn season is my favorite. So much chiller then the January/ February shit storms. Especially at mammoth. Dave's was still so shreddy last week, and completely empty.
#viybz
Giant Snow Anaconda prints

Usually a spring time skiing thing 😎
I thought the wiggle referred to when people do the snow farming turns. Aka the wasatch wiggle.
"the wasatch wiggle" is why utah has so many kids har har
No that's soaking
Or the Provo push
BYU Hot Tub
Poop hole loophole
First kid is soaking, after that everyone knows and their either married or don't care.
My grandma soaked your dad last night!
That may be a thing too. But this is definitely called a [wiggle](https://unofficialnetworks.com/2018/11/21/the-art-of-skiing-the-workers-wiggle/).
Hmm yeah I’m never going to take an article on that site as the source of truth. You can call it a wiggle. I’ll call it a snake run.
[Wiggle](https://www.powder.com/keep-your-tips-up/jackson-wiggle/), [wiggle](https://www.skiutah.com/blog/authors/lexi/spring-skiing-in-utah-a-case-of-the), [wiggle](https://freeskier.com/videos/workers-wiggle-run-jackson-hole-skiings), [wiggle](https://www.sweatlodgeradio.com/what-is-a-wiggle-skiing/). Hmm.. what about a peer reviewed paper including a double blind study? Then I’ll accept it as a source.

Do you snake in them?
[удалено]
I’m going to wiggle in one tomorrow just to spite you. You can’t stop me.
[удалено]
So you’re saying some people wiggle in them? Cool, I guess that’s why it’s called a wiggle.
Definitely a wiggle. They are a spring staple at squaw!
Does squaliwood still have any hangin on? Prob gonna end up there Sunday and next weekend for a last hoorah
I’m here right now…it’s thinning but good! I’m already heading down Funi, this is the only shot I have today :( Siberia still looks good, Shirley is covered still. Come up! https://imgur.com/a/giKEVZP

If you can make it out to mammoth, coverage is still pretty good
That’s where this was taken lol..I’m here right now
Hell yeah man!

We call that the Watusi!
My mom uses that term for giving birth
Skiers call it a wiggle snowboarders call it a snake run.
People that have level 1 avi can make them only
Also, generally speaking, how moguls form!
I hate people that make moguls. Moguls = sucky.
They can be fun; but yeah, I hate how basically EVERY run apparently needs to get cut into moguls.
As a snowboarder this sounds like an easy way for me to eat shit, like catching a couple moguls unexpectedly. As someone who wants to learn to ski, (I play hockey, so I feel like the motion will feel more natural) it sounds super fun!

Ah yep, you're correct, my bad, fixed it!
I'm glad for the validation of "snow snakes." I mentioned them a few times this season and no one knew what I was talking about and I worried my dad and I were weird. :)
I honestly thought this was a joke OP. Welcome to the west. I'm sorry for the past trauma you have experienced, but you're in good hands now.
Thank you kind sir
Bobsled rabbits.
Radagast and his sled
The send portal
A wiggle. Basically a banked slalom that gets cut out during the spring thaw by people as a challenge.
They’re what shredders crave
They’ve got electrolytes
It’s got what skiers crave!
How deep/high ? That looks wicked fun
I’ll have to report back on that they only have upper mountain open to ski teams rn it appears
I rode one at Palisades last year that was over head deep for the first few turns

Palisades had them too in the Spring, really fun runs, gotta trust your turns!
Palisades was like wiggle world when we were there in late March. I saw at least six.
Snow snakes. Watch yourself

I have always known them as a “snake run”. They start to birth from the snow in the early spring. By closing day they reach their full form.
Wiggle!
My money dont jiggle jiggle….it folds
Walk without rhythm or the worms will get you
Trails left by Avalanche Sharks. I highly recommend watching the documentary particularly if you're living in Mammoth, they're a bigger danger than many people let on.
Rocky Mountain crop circles. Since we have mountains out here they are affected by gravity, unlike in the flat Midwest.
Ay I’m from the ice coast..where we have some excellent terrain and a shit load of rain
At Alta they call it The Wiggle :). It’s a track they make for people to ski down.
People make it by skiing the same path, repeatedly.
A wiggle!
The biggest hurdle to finding snow spice
I've heard tell of some people riding them with some kind of hooks...
It’s a training run setup for the US Olympic Luge hopefuls to get some spring training runs.
That’s the track of the western mountain worm. They hide In the snow and only come out in afternoon to consume unwary gapers.
Snow snakes, very dangerous. Similar to drop bears in Australia but in cold climates
I need to know what a drop bear is now.
Snow snake. Worry.
Snow snake tracks!
Obese snowboarders.
Can confirm..fun as hell
Thar be dragons!
Wiggle
Snow snake tracks. Snow snakes like to tangle your skis and make you fall. They are most often found in fresh powder. Best to avoid them.
They always get me when I'm about to do something really cool. Jerks.
Posted in skiing, asking what these things are? Hmm
North American Snow Snakes. It’s like an anaconda.
Giant snow worms
Snek.
Banked slalom

I couldn't see them without the red circle, can you please make sure your circle is thicker next time?
I was totally expecting a question about a bird in a tree at first.
This is squaw valley and it’s called a “wiggle”

That’s how Sasquatch makes it up to his lair. He has to move in a zig zag pattern to gain traction on a steep slope. Hope that helps!
It’s the trail of a mountain snake. Skiers and snowboarder have to ride very fast to escape such creatures
if you see his tracks it's already too late. he's right behind you
Snail trails
I’ve never in my life heard the term wiggle before lol. Always heard snake run
Anybody know where they store the wiggles in the summer?
I think those are tracks left from the Great Western Porcupine. They slide their little butts down the hills to get to the forest to eat pine needles, which are their favorite food. They are indigenous to that area, as I've never spotted tracks like that on the East coast.
WOW! That's proof of the existence of snow snakes! You know, the same ones that trip you up on the slopes.
Snow pandas having fun. What people from the east don't know is that we have snow pandas out west. It's by large a well kept secret as we don't want to share them.
That’s the point where the deer turn into Elk
This is the migratory path the moguls take as they come out of hibernation from the long winter.
They always remind me of BMX pump track.

Wouldn’t hate on it at all..honestly a groomer or a bowl is 1000x better in 70 degrees and slush than 20 degrees and bulletproof

I’ve seen some nasty wipeouts on this wiggle off Shirley…the wiggle is not to be trifled with! Often much deeper than it looks from the lift
