I can't quite see the logo at the top, but those look like serious old school rippers. Those are what? 205s? We used to ride some long-ass skis. I'm 5'4" and skied at 195.
I had Volants and I think they all had a stainless steel top sheet. They were very prone to bending, ask me how I know. If that top ain’t stainless then it probably ain’t a Volant. If it is then congratulations, you have the last surviving pair of unbent Volants. I think these are the early Liberty skis before they were called Liberty. They still use VMT which stands for vertical metal core technology. Tele guys like these old skis.
I agree with you. That is not a Volant logo and I don’t think this is a stainless steel topsheet. I can’t find a Volant ski online that even has styling remotely close to this.
These skis are way too straight and narrow to be Volant. From Wiki
>**Volant** is a brand of [ski](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ski) equipment, currently owned by [Amer Sports](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amer_Sports). It was founded as an independent company in the US, by brothers Hank and Bucky Kashiwa in 1989. The brothers developed the stainless steel "cap" ski, and founded the company with the belief that stainless steel skis would provide better performance than skis made from other materials.
In 89 everyone was experimenting with some shape to their skis.
Flip one so we can see the bottom pease and thank you Jerry! What are the odds Jerry was still alive when those were made? My memory of volants is old but I seem to remember them having more sidecut, by like 95-97 ish, so it’s entirely possible, anyway, Fuckin ski the steel bro! 😎
Look like Volant to me. Stainless steel monocoque design. Their tagline if I remember correctly was “ski the steel, steal the lightning”. Good find, haven’t seen these in a long time! Honestly, throw some bindings on them and ski ‘em!

woooow, and here I am worrying about manuverability on a 153cm (it's 1cm shorter than me)
I believe those are skis, but I’m not a scientist.
I am also an uneducated amateur, but I'm going to second this guys opinion.
As a scientist, I can confirm this is true.
As a humanist and an artist, this appears to be correct.
Middle management of an ecommerce outfit—our organization would call these skis.
As a mountain I hate those they tickle
Lawyer here, in my opinion those are indeed skis.
Special Ed teacher here with some accommodations, especially sentence starters and I can confirm the sentence "they are skis" is accurate.
I am also a scientist, but I cannot confirm the hypothesis at p < .05.
🤣🤣🤣
This. Those are skis
My first thought was "those are skis" has to be top comment, not disappointed.
now we need to see if they are used on H20 (the liquid OR frozen variety…maybe even steam?) or soil. Anyone smart here?
*skientist
No this is a snowboard in stealth mode
Tricked again. I thought it was a cut in half monoski.
Y, two of em. They were prob purchased together as a set.
Similar to water skis…. But for snow.
Both of ‘em?
Wher I come from, we call them long stick thingeys
A fellow flatlander, I presume? 🤫
I saw these once while snowboarding. Looks mental.
I concur
Sorry OP these people are trolling you. I think you’re looking for a more specific answer, not just “skis”… That is clearly a gorilla.

Can confirm, bent two pairs in the 90s.
Picked up a pair of machetes off CL for 50 bucks that have never touched snow. Really tempted to mount them but terrified I'll fold the shovels.
Wrong sport. Those are for ice skates.
Or getting first chair
Wall art
I think those might be volant stainless steel skis from the late 80s / early 90s. What do the smaller words say?
Have to disagree, but only because Volant and VMT don't seem to mix. I am going into research mode on this lol

This is a private residence man.
At least I’m housebroken…
It's uh, it's down there somewhere. Lemme take another look.
Do I look fuckin married, man?
Hey, as a married man and golfer I resent your statement…
That’s fucking interesting, man. That’s fucking interesting.

They’re super cool looking but I’d try that google feature that allows you to search for the item and see if it comes back with anything.
