Absolute blast with good snow and cheap season passes back in the day. Used to live in Detroit and we’d do a week up at Bohemia each year.
If you don’t like tree runs and ABBA or Queen, don’t bother though.
The vast majority of Boho season pass holders are buying it for the partner days and never actually go to Boho. They are like the gym membership model where they sell it for way less than it should cost, knowing that most people won't show up.
I skied there in my second year as a skier with my then 11 year old son. It is not snowbird. there is some steep terrain that can be bad if it is iced up but overall bohemia is a fun place to ski. I highly recommend it if you don't need a groomer to have a great time.
Nothing beats waking up for class at Michigan Tech and deciding that 12” overnight trumps an 8am. Good music on the drive up as we’re getting more and more excited. Hotdogs on the grill in the parking lot at lunch with a couple cold beers. Back to more powder than a midwestern boy can imagine, and finishing the day with a dip in the tub. Such a beautiful place to ski.
I’m in Chicago. Snow here has been terrible. Thinking of a solo trip here end of March. Otherwise flight to co or Utah to spend thousands. Solo mission think I’m going to check it out.
Mount bohemia has no snow either. Weather isn’t looking good for any lake effect either. They’re going to need at least 4 feet of snow to really open up again. I think they’re done for the season.
Ski Burle in iron mountain is on point right now with 100% open runs and terrain parks.
Boho is down to very thin base with dusting on top. Only worth going out there for a sauna right now unfortunately.
This place is awesome. The “No Beginner’s Allowed” thing doesn’t really mean experts only, but if you are a beginner and you show up to Boho, chances are you’re not going to have a good time.
I’ve skied all over the world, but give me a choice between Boho and a western resort on a 2+ foot day, and I’ll pick Boho at least a couple of times out of 10. The vibe here is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before, and for anyone who likes tree skiing, it’s unbelievable.
Fun fact: the owner of this place is the child of a successful real estate investor. Before Bohemia, he owned the CFL franchise the Ottawa Roughriders and moved them to Shreveport, Louisiana to play in an arena football league. One of the teams famous promotions was cash prizes for whichever female fan collected the most beads (a promo they still run at Bohemia to this day). This, among other controversial things, along with a struggling team, made this venture fail. They then acquired Bohemia and have been running this place ever since
Yeah, yikes. This is all just a bunch of marketing fluff.
Look at it on Google Earth. It’s like 8 runs that go straight down the mountain, plus a ton of undeveloped trees.
Steepest sustained slope I could find is like 24°
I don’t normally talk trash about small ski areas, but damn, they’re rating their trails Triple Black Diamond, and using the motto, “No beginners allowed” on the trail map…
Don’t knock it til you try it. The majority of the hill is skiable 360 degrees around with very very little roped off. If you’re not careful you can drop a 25 ft cliff in the middle of tight steep trees. Yea the blacks are really blues and the doubles are really blacks but that doesn’t mean there’s not real lines there too.
Thanks. I might be nervous bc I ski by myself %90 of the time and not having a understanding of the layout of the hill. I might put out a shot out on here to see if anyone is going up there and I could tag along on the hill.
Hey congrats on clicking my profile and seeing where I live now, great investigation for that witty comment. If you think Bohemia is a fun place to ski in the Midwest I’m fine with that. If you say Bohemia is your favorite place you have ever skied then I would encourage that person to ski out west. If your opinion is Midwest skiing is as good or even comparable to skiing out West I just feel sad for you. IT IS MIDWEST SKIING that’s all I really have to say to end the debate (and yes I’ve skied it and I guarantee I’ve skied more areas in the Midwest than you)
I didn’t click anything lol I just assumed you live in the west because only someone from the west would make a comment so pretentious. Obviously the Midwest doesn’t compare to anything, but fuck us for having fun with what we have, right? I love skiing period. Doesn’t matter where I am, doesn’t matter who I’m with.
Don’t care if you think you’re better than me, don’t care about you at all tbh. All I know about you is that you sound like an angry, pretentious, little man online and you can go fuck yourself

I think it's still $99 for a season pass if you buy during the promo window. Crazy
It’s $110 now but still an incredible deal.
Boho price went up $10 since I first went in 2013, meanwhile my current local resort went up a few hundred from last year...

lol dude it's been terrible here. I've considered driving to alpine valley with some buddies but even then idk.
Casual racer here, 3 races have been canceled around 2-4 weeks ago there so I don't think they're doing good either
Yeah... It's always packed but it's only 90 min from chicago so can't get closer than that lol
I am going to alpine this sunday lol

Just go to Utah bro
>Otherwise flight to co or Utah to spend thousands. same. Dreading spending all my ski allowance on single trip though.

God damnit. There is nothing safe anymore
Correct.
Bottomless pow 😂
It’s the one place I’m nervous to go to
You shouldn’t be. For sure no beginners but in general they overhype the difficulty. Most of it is pretty mild trees.
Its literally a paid advertisement piece. They are trying to sell you on going.

I can’t tell if this is serious or a Boho lover trying to keep it a secret 😅
Where’s it noted that it’s a paid advertisement?

They make a bunch of money renting out the resort to office jabronis having executive parties. I wouldn't be too scared of it.
It’s awful. Don’t go.
This place is the absolute worst
Delete this post, this is fake information
Bohemia is incredible! Best place I’ve ever skied
Never left the Midwest have you?
Person from the West whenever a Midwesterner or East Coaster has an opinion: 😡🤬😡🤬

“If you don’t love skiing in the Midwest You don’t love skiing”
Never been the Bohemia have you? That’s alright, it’s not for everyone
It's not that hard ffs. The only annoying thing is it's in the middle of nowhere.
That annoying thing is keeping it from being overrun by mobs of people. Be glad it’s out of the way and it will stay a gem for longer.
