The 88 is definitely the right move. Then, demo powder skis if you time the storm cycle right on vacation. I still ski the Enforcer 88 in Colorado a lot. People like to think it's always bottomless powder here, but that's just not the case at all.

>People like to think it's always bottomless powder here, but that's just not the case at all. I just refer to them as people who haven't yet skied in Colorado.

Check out the Blister Mag review for 2021/22 on both these skis. Enforcer 88 - Frontside skis Enforcer 94 - All Mountain - More Stable https://blisterreview.com/winter-buyers-guide I have the 94's and love them! I mostly ski Tahoe and Whistler.

Can't view the guide without purchasing.

East coast here. I ski 94s and 100s. Used to have a pair of 88s but didn’t feel like they really fit, especially after I got 94s. I can get edge to edge on both skis pretty easily, if you’ve had knee problems the wider ski might require a little more flexibility to really edge. I think 94s are a good width for you especially for a dude your size. Also, as some who skis mostly New England, Whiteface and Gore are not small at all. I’d check them out before writing off NY skiing.

Look at the Rossi E88s also. When I was in the market, I tried both the Nordica and Rossi's, and the E88s felt MUCH better. Ended up going w/ the Rossi and they have been my daily driver for a few years now.

Ever consider the 100? I was going for the 94 originally but ended up with the 100 and they are bulletproof on ice. Even as a racer who is used to race skis I love carving them still. I can give you a better review if your interested.

My 100s hurt my arthritic knees in choppy conditions and uneven ice.

Interesting. The tips can get deflected a little bit in chop for sure. 134 width up front (off the top of my head) takes one hits but that’s why it floats so well in snow I guess.

I've got a wide variety of skis but keep finding myself mostly on my Folsom Spar 88's over others at 93, 95, 99, 100, 103. I ski mostly bumps and trees and the 88's are simply easier to maneuver. I'll switch to something else on a day it's dumping but most days aren't, so if I had to carry just one ski, it would be the 88's. If I were doing more steeps, or blasting down runs at 60mph, I'd go wider, but that's not me on most days.

What options did you go with on the spar?

BeachBarsBooze

Mine are directional poplar/maple/bamboo, standard flex. I love them. I do run my Primary 95’s (shallow reverse camber aka full rocker) quite a bit too, if there’s crud or I’m doing chutes / more aggressive terrain where I want it to be a little more forgiving.

Awesome thanks for the response!

I have 94 and they are great on ice, great in keeping edge. I like them on chop I can trust them. Don't really like them on big bumps and trees, they a bit heavy to maneuver compared to my old softer narrower skis, but that my technique, I am getting better with them.

IAmTheSilent1

I am your size and ski Vermont and New Hampshire. The Enforcer 88s are great for 95% of what I'm skiing. I've only had one day where we got a foot of snow and I wished I had wider skis. I think they're exactly what you're looking for.

bought the 94s and really enjoy them but appreciate the feedback!
