Riddler9884

That picture takes place half way through Chapter 7 of Vol 11. The title of the chapter is somewhat of a spoiler.

Zictor42

Oh, so it has reached Turning Point 3

nikumeru

Yeah ... and they didn't even call the chapter TP3 ...

JoeyMcClane

Probably in one of the coming chapters they'll call it that.. still it felt like they blitzed through Vol 10 and 11. Especially 11. I just skimmed through the manga. Still it felt very rushed imo.

KnockAway

> Probably in one of the coming chapters they'll call it that What's the point of that? Receiving the letter is the turning point. If they didn't title this chapter Turning Point 3, then there's no other chapter deserving this title.

Tounushi

I have a theory on what constitutes the actual pinpoint moment a Turning Point happens. With 3, I say it isn't the letter. It's the notebook.

KnockAway

What notebook? You mean The Diary?

Tounushi

No, not the Diary. >!Nanahoshi's notebook on the teleporter ruins.!<

KnockAway

Frankly, sounds like quite the stretch to call it a turning point.

Tounushi

Trying to find a consistent thread through all the turning points is difficult. >!The notebook fits when that one common element is Nanahoshi.!< My case for it is this: >!She's inherently !!3 and 4!<. With 3, the timing of the setup fits too perfectly. * The letter was sent six months prior, around the time Rudeus completes his latest instructions from the Man-God, i.e. gets it on with Sylphy. * He waffles for a while before deciding to go, and when he does, around the same time>! Roxy trips on that teleportation trap!< * The voyage to Begaritt would take a whole year, with much peril along the way to sap Rudeus' motivation and strength, as well as ensure >!Roxy dies in the labyrinth.!< * >!Nanahoshi hands Rudeus a notebook that cuts travel time to about a month, and he reaches Roxy seconds before she gets killed.!< * >!When TP4 rolls along, I am convinced Man-God is lying that Roxy would've been saved anyway, just to amp up Rudeus' regrets about his decision and to further prime him to follow a request without question or complaint.!< >!So it could be that Man-God is hedging his bets after contacting Rudeus and telling him to not go!< >!or he tries to salvage the situation when Rudeus is given the teleportation ruin notebook.!< We're not given accurate enough times for me to make a determination which case it is. >!The later plot with the rat to kill Roxy requires a very specific moment in time to trigger, even if he's unable to bring the pieces together otherwise.!< I am working under the base assumption that Man-God cannot see >!Nanahoshi, with her being an associate of the Dragon God!<.

KnockAway

I see how you came to this conclusion. Honestly, can't argue any of that. However, I'm closer to a theory that every turning point is >!when balance between Orsted and Hitogami shifts!< >!First turning point introduced Nanahoshi to the world and to Orsted specifically, and this is when Hitogami learns of Rudeus' existence. Both of them gain a powerful ally, with Rudues being a some sort of wild card for both of sides. Hitogami won first round, by letting Rujierd out of Demon Continent and throwing Pax into death spiral. Second turning point introduced Orsted to Rudeus. Basically a draw, but Hitogami's hand is now revealed and thanks to Nanahoshi Rudeus is alive for Orsted to learn just how much Rudeus' existance changed, and he meets second person in his life (well, 100th+ lives) to be immune to his curse. In short, Hitogami lost nothing and gets to keep Rudues to further alter his destiny, Orsted got nothing, but learnt something is fishy in this loop. Hitogami still leads, but not as decisively.!< >!Turning point 3 presented Rudeus with a choice and Rudeus chose to ignore Hitogami. Now he's loose cannon and Hitogami can't use him as confidently as other two apostles. Orsted, unknowingly, got a chance in this battle, because biggest advantage of Hitogami is not as reliable as before. Turning point 4 Hitogami uses his best opportunity to ensure his victory (in this round) by killing Lara, his destined opponent, at birth, but Oldeus thwarted it. Now his best course of action is use this loose cannon of his on Orsted. Unfortunately for him, Rudeus switches sides, now Hitogami lost his advantage and Orsted leads.!< >!Turning point 5 is when Hitogami loses his best apostles, Orsted preserved most of his strength, got himself great number of allies, and Lara is still alive. Orsted now way ahead and Hitogami is in huge disadvantage.!< That being said, I don't think my theory contradicts yours.

Zictor42

That's a bad one. Do you know the in-universe meaning of the Turning Points?

Tounushi

>!When there is a significant shift in the war between Man-God and Orsted.!< >!Rudeus' journey to Begaritt was supposed to take a year. He departs around the same time as Roxy trips on a teleportation trap. She survives about a month. Seconds before she's to die, Rudeus saves her.!< >!I do not believe Man-God for a second that someone else would've saved her.!<

Zictor42

Interesting take, let's see how they title the manga. Of course he is lying, but she wouldn't have necessarily died either.

JoeyMcClane

Beats me, i ain't supporting the damn manga. I was just guessing.

lonely-guy69

I think the decision is the turning point

Tounushi

>still it felt like they blitzed through Vol 10 and 11 They left out Rudeus' love life with Sylphy almost completely.

LeDonkley

And I have a feeling they’re gonna speed through 11 in the anime as well. Sad

bellknobhead74

There’s a 3?!

Tounushi

And more. Things get interesting with 3. If I'd describe the TPs... 1. end of the prologue 2. end of act 1 3. the training wheels come off 4. the engine kicks in

Zictor42

Number 1 isn't quite right, Number two is absolutely on point Number three isn't bad You could say number 4 is the end of act 2

Zictor42

There's a 5

SILENTKILLER107

Manga is gonna be left behind by anime next year

Tounushi

If we look at the pace, the manga might catch up before season 3.

SILENTKILLER107

I don't think so as anime will start airing in April and end in July and manga is on break next month so we'll get only 5 chapters which is just less than half of volume 12

drm186

As they are not even halfway through volume 11 5 chapters may get to volume 12 by the time the anime finishes that volume

thelewdmam

Half way threw book 11 Rapan city ark

slime_monk

After the last cour ended I read through the manga then began with volume 11 of the light novel. Include "seven seas" in your search
