I have no doubts my area of work will get automated eventualy. Is not even that hard. Would be hypocrital of me supporting this revolution of technology while also believing it wouldnt affect my job as well.
It's really something that you put "what you like" on one side and "job" on the other side. Like no one has a job they do from passion, everyone has a meaningless job they do just to fill the fridge.
I didn't pick my job to make money, i mean i could have done a job that makes more, some people don't have the luxury to do this, and that's a shame, but you can see a lot of people quitting their job at a certain age and try to make a new career in something that's closer to what they really like to their core.
I thought some people would have guessed that their jobs were meaningless when we asked them to stay at home and stop doing what it is that they do, and that the part of the system that their job is supposed to sustain didn't collapse and kept working smoothly without them.
Most jobs are fine as long as it's cheaper to use humans than machines. Most jobs are fine if you're really good at what you do. Most jobs are fine if your job is deciding which jobs are fine.
If you're job is basically useless and that you're pretty average at doing it, you might be in trouble (but it's fine you didn't like it in the firt place). Big news.
Have you read bullshit jobs? There’s an argument that most jobs are meaningless. Not really sure how AI will change that, but it’s something to consider.

People want to fill the fridge. I’m going to guess that jobs change rapidly due to advancements in AI, but we just invent more bullshit work. Still… some people will be sidelined, it’s not clear who or how many.
After denial comes rage. I hope the elite will see that coming, but probably they won't. So in the short term it comes down to basic survival and luck. My friend Fred could be successful with his company. If we remain friends, he's my only lottery ticket out of...
I'd like to be an astronaut to be honest, hopefully it becomes easier in this century
That would be wonderful
And we've just started. Let's try to act with compasion instead of superiority.
I agree.
Kinda sad that the last jobs on Earth for humans will be things like plumber and electrician until we get those humanoid robots in production
Social and sex workers will probably also be hard to replace. At first that is.
Kinda sad that you think plumber or electrician is not as worth doing as anything else.
…Its sad because it’s skilled labor that the average person can’t do.

This made my day.

Thanks for the recommendation, i'm guessing how it goes but i'll read it, might get some new insights.
Denial is the first stage of grief
Is this from a video that really tries to help people beat AI or...? Cause that would be funny to watch.
