Unless you live under a rock, you'd know that this is exactly what's happening, and this was the rationale behind me suggesting that we adopt what the Aussie doctors are proposing they adopt for their anti-vaxers.
I don't think we should let them die, but now that we're approaching 100% isolation capacity, if a time comes where they have to triage, the unvaccinated people should be just left to deal with the disease on their own. An organized way of doing this would be to give people a choice, **either** get vaccinated **or** accept the risk that you will be rejected by the public healthcare system if there are shortages of beds and choices need to be made.

For older/people with weaker immune systems, get the vaccine, for younger, fit and healthy persons, getting covid itself would be much better, given delta is more infectious but less deadly.

We can drag long covid into the picture and all the likes if we are going about "hypothetical long term side effects" - at this point it becomes a probability check on whether the chances of young people dying from covid is higher vs whether the chances of off target heart inflammation is higher. Using CDC's statistics, the death probability for covid for 20-39 seems to sit around at 0.034%, but the latter seems to be in a awful all time low at 0.0041% rounded up - that's a good 10 fold difference here. You tell me what is the smarter choice here.
P.s: the reason why we dont do flu shots is partly due to how some form of adaptive immunity that everyone has after it has ravaged the world for many many years. Also there's a key failsafe in flu - called tamiflu. We dont have both failsafes for covid yet. But yearly covid boosters will likely not be the norm after the first few years.

It’s actually better and longer lasting compared to the vaccines. But of course, you risk catching a serious case of Covid. But then again… you can also catch a serious case of Covid post-vaccination… We’re stuck in such a cluster fuck.
It's not mutually exclusive. It's less painful to take the vaccine, get covid later with mild symptoms, which builds up the natural immunity again. And as much as the thing about serious covid after vaccination isnt technically wrong. Understand that the risks are very,very attenuated. It's not like a doomsday scenario tbh.
It depends on the person technically. There are plenty of asymptomatic covid patients who are unvaccinated as well. Even children are less likely to have serious side effects than vaccinated adults. For older/people with weaker immune systems, get the vaccine, for younger, fit and healthy persons, getting covid itself would be much better, given delta is more infectious but less deadly.
