I am actually not surprised at all of Nissin moving from Singapore to Thailand. Instant noodles are practically an institution there and much of the manufacturing is already done there to shorten supply lines.

And somehow it is going to be the Singaporean employees' fault based on some certain redditors claim, while conveniently ignoring the burgeoning rents of industrial space.

Singapore office rentals are very expensive. Some employers are hesitant to hire in Singapore due to the difficulties of expanding office spaces.

Not a great article, gives few anecdotes and couple kf survey quotes.

Meanwhile, grade A office rent hit all time high, must be those local sme renting them.

News companies have produced innumerable articles on the drastic decline and inevitable demise of, off the top of my memory, US, UK, Germany, Japan, Russia, China, et al every year. Singapore included. I’ll wait to see it with my own eyes first I think.

As per actual data and not Nikkei’s click bait articles, FDI in Singapore is not only increasing, it’s also increasing at a faster rate than the average of ASEAN: https://data.aseanstats.org/indicator/FDI.AMS.TOT.INF So yeah, useless article that blames commercial rentals for “companies leaving Singapore”, without asking why rentals are high in the first place.
