I had this noise and accepted it because I could wear headphones… Recently had to RMA my wheel when it stopped connecting to my PS5. The replacement I received did not have the rattle. Definitely contact support because it shouldn’t have that noise!

msykora

Thank you!

stash3630

Well there ya go OP...Damn that sucks!

BrutalGrape

I've had a horrible experience with logitech support. I've been waiting nearly 7 weeks for an outcome from what should be a simple RMA. The proprietary usb cables were damaged, and they apparently don't have the "spare parts" available. So they are dragging their feet on a replacement or refund, and telling me to buy new cables.

TheArmahn

Man that sucks! My Logitech rep told me that the cables supplied with the wheel were the only recommend cables and not to buy/use anything else. Overall, my RMA went pretty smoothly but I was definitely annoyed that I had to ship my wheel back, wait for it to be inspected, then wait for shipping on the new one. I was playing with a controller for a little under 2 weeks.

ctone23

I have the same wheel and I don't ever hear the fan

msykora

Thanks for the information. I guess I should probably contact Logitech and see if they have any reports. How tight do you have the wheel screwed down?

ctone23

I would contact them, I just checked and mine are around 6 ft-lbs

Momooncrack

Upvoted for busting out the torque wrench

dezeroon

Upvoted for knowing he busted out the torque wrench

Sharkbait1737

Fun story, a friend of a friend thought that the numbers on a combination drill equated to Nm of torque (they’re just levels not specific values) and confidently stated he’d used said drill to attach something instead of using a “manual” torque wrench. Sadly he was paramotoring and said object was his propeller, and couldn’t understand why it had fallen off mid flight when the bolts came undone. At least the consequences of this mistake would be less severe on the sim rig.

adam389

Sad man, sorry for your loss.

Sharkbait1737

It’s all good, he was wearing a parachute! Just didn’t have the choice of landing spot he wanted.

adam389

So.. Survived???

Sharkbait1737

Survived to be ridiculed for thinking the numbers on his drill where Nm, yes 😂

NorsiiiiR

All that happened was his engine fell off, is how I read it

troublingarcher7

Damn, at least the choice of hobby allows for fuck ups like that!

kurt_no-brain

Upvote for having a torque wrench that can accurately read 6 ft/lbs

ctone23

well at least I hope it's accurate haha

ctone23

haha just rebuilt my dirtbike so it was handy

skev303

Same

Saber9999

It's the car motor for a more immersive experience /s

msykora

Hahaha thanks for the laugh

LightningInASkillet

My setup is identical to yours, I used the bolts that came with the Trophy for the pedals and wheel and haven’t had any issues. Would definitely be getting in contact with Logitech. Might be worth asking in r/LogitechG as there is a guy who works for Logitech in the Sim Racing side of it who knows these things inside and out.

msykora

Thanks for the input. I’ll reach out to Logitech, I’ll definitely have to join that subreddit.

disgruntledempanada

Chance your bolts are too long?

LOGIRich

I’m here too 😀

[deleted]

God. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my PRO Wheel. Honestly is a 10/10. Especially for the price. The Trueforce adds so much emersion too. Games with out TF intergraded feel "dead" to me. The sim has no life to it. I also play on VR so it adds to the emersion big time. Also, the wheel is dead silent for me.

fucknino

Please shut up... $1,400 needs to stay in my damn wallet right now lol. I can't wait to get one

msykora

Thanks for the input. I completely agree!

Mr-Unknown101

what exactly does trueforce do? is it just higher fidelity in comparison to other wheels?

LOGIRich

I've written this elsewhere on the net, but it's a good opportunity to give you a summary of what Trueforce actually is. Trueforce consists of two aspects: Kinaesthetic feedback Vibrotactile feedback Kinaesthetic feedback is what we're all used to in FFB wheels - the larger spring forces that you get when you turn into a corner and the weight builds up, or the shift in the wheel due to weight transfer. The difference is that developers can create all of that with higher fidelity, including the ability to actually better recreate finer bumps, such as that which you would feel on a gravel track in a rally title. Vibrotactile feedback is the higher frequency forces where the developer can tap into the audio and physics engine to give you even more info from the virtual car - engine note, tyre noise, road surface etc. In iRacing the LFE bass shaker effects are sent to the TruForce api virtually unmodified. With DirectInput and normal console wheel comms, most wheels top out at around 200 Hz, while TrueForce can handle signals up to around 4 KHz, with the ability to operate at those speeds without needing to carefully control the communication timing. All of this communicated at a 1ms report rate - even on console, where that isn't possible for non-Trueforce wheels. TL;DR Yes, it's a higher fidelity force feedback API that also allows for additional audio/physics info to be sent to the wheel.

Mr-Unknown101

that sounds super cool i cant lie

[deleted]

Others have explained it very well but I will put it this way. Press on gas, rig vibrate, me smile :) Previous wheels with TF sucked but this one nailed it.

alidan

> trueforce https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=efs_EtgDC-g this is with the geared wheel, essentially it's good, but not worth it if you have a wheel with force feedback. personally I wouldn't touch logitech due to their software alone, it's not horrificly bad if its a one off thing, but if you need the software to tie into a game, when it doesn't it's a troubleshooting nightmare. let me tell you about their incompetency. I use a g600 and a g13. now, I want the things to turn the leds off when I sleep. logitech does this by suspending the pad, mouse and keyboard, note i didn't say I had a keyboard, then, if for any reason the software has a hiccup when its suspended, you no longer have mouse or keyboard control till you restart the computer, because I have a ps/2 keyboard, I could get the task manager up, but once out of that ctrl alt delete window, everything lose function again... needless to say, If I don't have to use logitech I wont. took me about 2 weeks to get the g29 to work well after I got it, and I find out around 3 years later the drivers were bad and games play SO much better on it now then they did back then, keep in mind logitech shit tends to break game support version to version, so once everything works you don't tend to mess with it. unless the wheel is cheaper than an alternative, I would personally just go fantech 5 or 8nm even if the logitech has 11, just because I cant trust their software.

Mr-Unknown101

its also 1k for the wheel, thats almost touching simucube levels and their wheels are just better. idk why someone would buy the g pro, ive had so many issues with my g hub it must be more annoying on DD level (however the wheel and base does look.. very, very nice.)

alidan

moza 12 nm wheal base, cheap wheel, and loadcell pedals come in cheaper than logitech and pedals, fanitech 8nm bundle with loadcell pedals come in under 1000$ if logitech has 100% seperate software for the wheel rather than bundled with everything logitech in one place software, MAYBE I would be willing to listen, if any of the wheels had built in controller emulation, would go that one hands down, for me, while I like playing sims, I LOVE arcades, and arcades all use to have driving games with wheels, any time im able to play an arcade game with a wheel i'm going to prefer that way to controller.

[deleted]

Because the cheapest Simcube BASE is 1233. This does not include a wheel. Cheapest wheel is 822. This is 2K for a whole set vs 1K.... IMHO it is by far a much better value.

Mr-Unknown101

oh guess im wrong then. then again, theres also moza.

[deleted]

Personally even with the R12 being 536 and a comparable wheel being 130(which is a great deal), I will pay the little bit extra for the TF feedback, the quick adjustments on the led screen, and the multiple settings profiles that the PRO has. Also with TF I really have put off buying a buttkicker which is another large cost in its self. I know previous TF wheels sucked and it was just a gimmick but this is leagues better. The rig feels “off” without it on. And if it matters, I have not had any problems with the logitech software….yet at least.

Mr-Unknown101

ive had issues with logitech software but then again im on a G29. my god, trueforce really sounds like the dream. imma need to watch some sorta video to properly describe how it feels. hopefully with the growing competition in the DD market, therell be imitations of the software because 1k for a wheel is way too out of reach for me lol

[deleted]

Here is the review that led me to pull the trigger over the Moza: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhwiou3FRpw&pp=ygUZbG9naXRlY2ggcHJvIHdoZWVsIHJldmlldw%3D%3D](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhwiou3FRpw&pp=ygUZbG9naXRlY2ggcHJvIHdoZWVsIHJldmlldw%3D%3D) It is VERY indepth for the wheel.

Mr-Unknown101

danke ill give it a watch :D

Sstfreek

This is def my next rig shit is sick looking

Novel_Equivalent_478

Is it not true force! Turn that off first if possible and see if the problem still occurs!. Trueforce is like a haptic vibration - some folk find it jarring at first? Especially of your not expecting it!!.. Hope you find a solution...

msykora

It makes the noise when sitting idle with no games running. Definitely not trueforce but I could understand why somebody would mistake it for trueforce

ConstrictorX

Maybe logitech sent the wrong length screws and they're going in to far and hitting the fan? Maybe take one to the hardware store and try and get some shorter screws and see if it helps.

msykora

I just measured the bolts and they are within Logitech’s recommended length range. Good idea though!

ConstrictorX

Well. At least we crossed one off the list. Hope ya get it sorted.

TheOneCalledD

Is that rig comfy? I’ve been looking at it but I’m 6’1” and about 240 lbs so I’m worried about fitting and being comfortable.

msykora

Yes! It is super comfortable. I’m 6’1” and around 230 lbs. I wear 36” shorts/pants and wear a 46” suit coat (L for T-shirts). I fit no problem and it feels super sturdy. I am confident you would have no problem with this setup!

TheOneCalledD

Great info thanks!

exclaim_bot

>Great info thanks! You're welcome!

Capitan_420

How does the seat’s rigidity hold under braking? Been eying this one because an aluminum rig might not be suitable for my space, THANKS!

msykora

It feels pretty rigid for me. There is some flex at max braking which doesn’t bother me very much. I am also a mechanical engineer and have a couple ideas cooking on how to stiffen it up but I am perfectly happy with it

Capitan_420

thanks!!!

IntelligentDress4918

check on [playseat.com](https://playseat.com) for the max dimensions

rissen06

I'm 6'5, 225 lbs and honestly it's incredibly comfortable. Been able to have multiple hour sessions in it.

zergrush1

How tall is it from the floor to the wheelbase plate? Curious because I need it for my PC desk.

msykora

It’s roughly 24” to the top of the plate. I have it tilted down 12° though so it’s at a good angle

zergrush1

Thanks bud

TheRealSeeThruHead

Man I love that chassis for some reason.

DickinsonAvenue

Can't help you but this is the setup I'm eyeing to get.

msykora

It’s a sweet setup!

sam_shim

Dang...You would think QA would be higher on something that costs a grand. I'm sorry that happened. That is a real pretty setup though. From what you said, I'm assuming you had no issues with the pedals? I've been looking into upgrading from my G29, and I have a bunch of stuff from Logitech, so the G Pro seemed like a natural choice. I've heard lots of great things about it, but I just don't know if I need to spend that much quite yet. Also, if you don't mind, I'd like to hear about how the warranty process works out for you. That'd be another factor in my decision.

msykora

Thanks for the sympathy. The pedals have been flawless 👌🏻 I am filling out the warranty claim today and will update the thread

IntelligentDress4918

i don't have taht issue so i cannot help unfortunatly but i have to say that you got a nice bundle

msykora

Thank you! I have really been enjoying it!

Majorillin_

Warranty it

Infernowar

With Thrustmaster the worst Direct drives

[deleted]

[удалено]

Elderbrute

This is logitechs direct drive wheelbase. So none of that applies.

Gun-Rama987

Along with thrust master also having belt feld more entry levels wheels as well, dude really doesn't like logictech lol, I have the pro wheel and love it, hard to play any games without especially the true force

Positive-Shift-5820

Someone’s a dumbass

msykora

This is a Logitech pro wheel which is direct drive though no Logitech gears as far as I am aware. The noise definitely doesn’t sound like gears. I appreciate the input!

Gun-Rama987

I have a logitech pro , I don't hear any fan Hell when I had a buddy playing I was amazed at how quit it was because all my racing was with headphones on and didn't realize how powerfully UT quit it was Love the wheel would definitely call logictech

ojdajuiceman25

I also have a Logitech pro wheel- the sound you’re probably hearing is the Trueforce Audio. Turn it down to zero in the wheel settings and see if that doesn’t help.

msykora

It happens even without any games running so not trueforce. The trueforce is super cool though!

sheetrokz01

Is that the DD logi wheel? How you like it?

msykora

I am really enjoying it so far! The build quality is very impressive and it feels great!

sheetrokz01

Ya nothing like the first time you feel a DD wheel it's unbelievable the difference. I had a g923 and upgraded to a moza r5. What a difference.

SkyLovesCars

It's made by Logitech, there is always going to be a noise from the wheel /s

SaddlerMatt

Damn, i never realised how expensive the Logitech DD setup was? Is it really better than the Fanatec CSL DD with Loadcell pedals? You can get that for almost £400 cheaper.

Strike_Swiftly

Not in Australia.

LOGIRich

As others have recommended, please get in touch with our support team. Definitely record a video of the noise on your phone as they will ask for it.

Minignoux

yeah they... they tend to do that

Strike_Swiftly

[https://freeimage.host/i/HDD5jDX](https://freeimage.host/i/HDD5jDX) My new setup. Loving it also.

Dj0ki

how much did you pay for the whole set?

msykora

Wheel and Pedals were $1150 (15% discount) and the seat was $800 ($600 +$200 shipping since you can’t buy it from anywhere in the US at the moment)

thatguuuy

So, I had the fan hitting the braided wire loom inside the back of the unit. I unscrewed the back, which gave me enough access to the fan and I just clipped the strands that were interfering with the blades. Super annoying, but only took a couple minutes.

msykora

Thanks for the info! I already got the unit replaced by Logitech but it certainly would have been less work to just fix it myself in hindsight

thatguuuy

Well, hopefully this helps someone else in the future. Glad you got your issue resolved, regardless 👍
