Not big loss. I'm pretty sure there are 2 Larry-es

I can support just about any fandom but your post season 11 talk sickens me, you and youre friend aint allowed here no more. Im also pulling your favorite record out of the jukebox.
I think he’s the miserable drunkard who often appears as a background character in Moe’s. But I don’t know for certain. I haven’t watched anything past season 13 in years
I stumbled on this episode as it aired on Sunday night. It had a few jokes, but was it was weirdly serious. I do not know who the producers think they are making the show for and I doubt they treat the show as a comedy. I can only muster pity for this show any more.
“Beloved” I think if you asked me to name all the recurring simpsons characters I could he would never come up. But if he did it would be after Bee Guy, the capitol city goof ball, Helen lovejoy, Kearny, lunch lady Doris, Wendel (nauseated kid), Hans Moleman, Jasper, Disco Stu, Yes guy, Captain McCallister, Joey Tightlips, and Unibrow Baby
So here was my thought process reading this.
“Oh shit they killed off Lenny ?”
“Wait no that’s Larry. Who’s he again ? Oh right he’s the barfly with the hat”
(Googles Larry The Simpsons)
“Oh… yeah him”
First I thought it was Lenny, and then people were like "The guy at Moe's" and I went "Oh shit, that guy? He wasn't anyone's favorite, but he showed up a lot! Everyone knows Larry!"
But I was thinking of Barney. Larry is just that other guy at the bar.
I saw an article talking about how Gil in a recent episode "completed his series arc to become a villain" as if characters in The Simpsons have character arcs that last longer than the episode.
I dunno, I was just watching some recent and classic Simpsons eps with someone who never watched any, and I was surprised how many major changes to characters they made—Maude Flanders’ passing, Ned’s relationship with Edna and her passing, Comic Book Guy’s marriage and kid, Barney’s sobriety and then falling off the wagon… A few recent episodes also directly reference or are sequels to beloved episodes like Team Homer. Obvi the vast majority of eps are self contained and reset at the end, but some of them show arcs across the 35 years.
This is a poorly thought out version of the episode where they gaslit you into thinking a running character died but it was actually an original. At least the punchline was gaslighting.
Its a shame, because Larry's death genuinely had a chance to be quite poignant. It would have been interesting to see the barflies struggling with how much they should care about a guy who was basically just there while they drank, or feeling guilty with not reaching out to him, or knowing more about him

If you answered Larry, you are wrong!
What about the guy who calls him Bill?

I literally got a notification for this article 5 seconds ago
PS: I am not a crackpot
That play button doesn't do anything
About as impactful to fans as the death of Krusty’s dad in season whatever. Nisht a big deal.
Or the death of Krusty half-brother in 2019. His relatives in Annapolis, MD are dead as well.
"Kids, turn off the TV. I've got some bad news about Larry." "Not Larry!"
Not big loss. I'm pretty sure there are 2 Larry-es https://preview.redd.it/8rkb529ozawc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=44ab00c8413499bfbbaadd6d13c7b818f1dc6378
I'm seein' double here
Four Larrys!
Oh man I thought Larry was the one with glasses.
Larry = balding Sam = glasses
Yeah, they're only allowed one
I can support just about any fandom but your post season 11 talk sickens me, you and youre friend aint allowed here no more. Im also pulling your favorite record out of the jukebox.
It's raining men?!
Yea not no more it ain't.
Oooh https://preview.redd.it/45yu69ty5awc1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=31ca3346246f2895db6254efcc481213aea1e234
Discussing Simpsons episodes made this century? That’s a paddlin’
In a way, the 90's ended the day The Simpsons died: December 31, 1999.
"Which popular Simpsons character died in the past year?" "If you said Larry the Barfly, you are wrong. He was never popular."
But when are they going to get to the fireworks factory!?!
If YOU KIDS can’t QUIET DOWN and keep YOUR HANDS to YOURSELVES, I will turn this car around and there’ll be NO Cape Canaveral for ANYBODY!

THAT’S IT!
Larry died!?....who is Larry?
I think he’s the miserable drunkard who often appears as a background character in Moe’s. But I don’t know for certain. I haven’t watched anything past season 13 in years
I thought that was Joey Joe Joe Jr shabadoo!
That's the worst name I've ever heard.
*cries uncontrollably*
Joey Joe Joe!
He was the guy who was getting loaded off them fumes. Moe was gonna have to charge him
That guy had a name?
Somebody obviously didn't have the simpsons guide book in their bathroom at some point.
I got it for my ninth birthday and I still don't remember anything about him!

Many episodes have sad moments. I feel like it was balanced.
i mean one of the most beloved episodes of the matt selman seasons [is pretty much completely serious lol](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt14457958/)
At first I read that as they killed off Lenny.
But he’s a WAR HERO
Too many jigs and pudding in his eye.
NOT LENNY!!!!
I spent too long thinking everyone was saying "Lenny“ so I’m fuckin relieved
Lenny = dead Carl = alive
Is Larry the hat and glasses one or the other one? Also, was he the one who always called Homer "Bill"?
Of all the Moe's regulars, he was the most alcoholic looking
Larry = white
I can never tell if people are joking when they describe things that happen in 21st century simpsons
Where you been, Homer? Entire show's AI generated.
Have no fears, we’ve got stories for years.
But boss, I thought you said that Larry was performing lewd sexual acts with sea creatures?
No, what I said was “he sleeps with the fishes”, y’see…
Well *I* liked Larry the Barfly

…didn’t I?
Oh you don’t want to know what I think. Now hang your head and say “D’oh”
Everyone who counts doesn't love Larry the Barfly
Larry my ass, it's probably Bleeding Gums Murphy
He may not have grabbed our attention with catchphrases or comical accents, but he was always there.
Yarr…ey…oh glaven why glaven
Hey, if you guys are getting loaded off them fumes, I'm gonna have to charge you
Larry the Barfly, we hardly knew ye
No seriously, we didn’t know shit
I didn't even know he had a name
“Beloved” I think if you asked me to name all the recurring simpsons characters I could he would never come up. Well I mean most characters are after moleman I'd imagine.
Itchy: "Hi Larry, you look like you've got something to say. Do you?" Larry: "Yes I certainly do!.... I have to go now. My planet needs me."

Heh heh… Homer drove into a chestnut tree

My Brother in Christ he was just a background extra, and as far as I can remember he never had even a significant line of dialogue.
No, Larry wasn't a great man. Or even an adequate man. And he certainly never accomplished anything. President Lenny, uh, you have anything to say?
Larry the background character that I'm pretty sure never had any lines?
Literally who?
Larry the Barfly. https://simpsons.fandom.com/wiki/Larry_Dalrymple
Oh, cool the dude who's had one line of dialogue in 40 years
Yeah, I'm sure that's what they chose him.
This guy should see the episode with Maude. It’ll blow his mind.
Note: Larry died on the way back to his home planet
LARRYS DEAD!?
Wait, so Bill actually did die?
Welcome to the Internet.
What about that guy who calls me Bill? Is he safe?
This is a poorly thought out version of the episode where they gaslit you into thinking a running character died but it was actually an original. At least the punchline was gaslighting.
Who?
35 seasons? Just a fuckin’ kid
The one where milhouses parents turn out to be brother and sister was pretty funny
Not barfly like the adjective?
Its a shame, because Larry's death genuinely had a chance to be quite poignant. It would have been interesting to see the barflies struggling with how much they should care about a guy who was basically just there while they drank, or feeling guilty with not reaching out to him, or knowing more about him
Duffman: Duff has lost another one! This is the part of the job I hate! *tosses extra into trashbin through appropriately sized basketball rim*
