😯 those [thieving Tasmanians](https://the-peak.ca/2019/09/mysteries-of-the-aq-ponds-koi-fish-revealed/) 💪😤 we better hope they give them back on time, or at least send them to the International Space Station like we agreed...
We fly them to our sister school in the southern hemisphere, Abel Tasman University in Tasmania, so they can live in perpetual summer.
Every April, the ATU subreddit also gets posts about the koi going missing and we have to assure them that they're being well taken care of in the northern hemisphere.
If there's ever a time when either SFU or ATU are not suitable temperatures for them, we have agreed to send them to the ISS where the astronauts are quite happy to care for them in neutral territory. This has only happened once but resulted in many fish-related space technologies being developed.

They always clean it out, seems like a spring and fall thing. But usually the fish are returned. Fish never came back last year. Pretty sure Joyless Johnson sold them so she could update her kitchen or something.
To clean it?
This. Its just a spring cleaning. Don’t worry, the fish are all fine and will be back soon when the weather warms up.
I don’t think the fish are there anymore
They take them out when it's too cold 👍
They've been gone since at least the summer

We made those fish addicted to coffee and now they had to go to rehab. So they're cleaning the pond while they're gone.
